Cubana in Sheffield

Booked for a bottomless brunch with high hopes.... The service was good, staff friendly and helpful however the food was awful... Straight out of the microwave... No toasted bread... Or crispy potatoes.... Eggs overdone....risotto tasteless... Not authentic or tasty I'm afraid and won't be returning.

Been here so many times now and the food is just unbelievable, so tasty and they bring the tapas out in stages which I like, there's so many dishes to choose from and it's just so good, great atmosphere,there's so many different rums to try, The staff are always checking on you and making sure everythings ok. I can't recommend this place enough

Jason the bar tender was superb! His service was incredible but more importantly seeing the way he tutored the junior staff! Amazing! Keep up the good work young man

Wow. Came today and both me and my sister agree it was some of the nicest food we've eaten in a while. So tasty, quick service, attentive and polite staff. Will definitely be back and have already sang it's praises and recommended to the partner and parents! Highly recommend

I did like a lot, were lot of nice people there.

Staff were friendly and witty, joking around with each other and the guests. This helped to create a positive, upbeat atmosphere. The food was delicious. With so many tasty items on the menu it was hard to make a choice. Live music also added to the nice atmosphere. I will definitely come back here when visiting Sheffield again.

Had the most amazing time for my friends birthday that have come up to visit me from london. Andrea and the team provided such excellent service and the food was unbelievable. Anyone visiting or living in Sheffield this place is an absolute must! Insane.

We were looking for somewhere to eat on a Sunday evening and went for Cubana. It was just brilliant. We had a some pan to start, a selection of tapas for main and a sorbet/ice cream for afters. It’s easy to over order which we did a bit in spite of long experience eating tapas. Food was very fine indeed, a pretty typical mix of tapas plates, washed down with Estrella Damm Lemon. There was a very good female singer and the atmosphere was lively for a Sunday. We agreed this was right up there with our best dining. Service was charming and efficient. And I got props for my Spanish which topped off a great evening. We’ll go again for sure.

Fantastic palace where to eat some of the most amazing Spanish tapas and later burn the calories by going downstairs and have a bit of a dance. Really friendly staff and mamazing door staff to make you feel safe

Friends 60th birthday great afternoon and evening spent at Cubanas

Food was delicious and so were the cocktails. Funky place with a singer and salsa dancing downstairs. The staff were amazing and gorgeous. They had magician going round and he was an absolute bonus.

Booked a bottomless brunch for 8 people. We were looked after so well. All the team was fantastic and the Manager Andrea couldn't have done enough for us. Cubanas , always delivers. Great food. Atmosphere and service always with a smile. Drinks at the bar afterwards were 10/10 Grazie Xoxo

Refreshingly not a chain and all the more better for it.

We visited here for lunch on a Saturday and were surprised to find it was almost full. In spite of that the front of house team managed very well. We had a number of small plates all of which were very good. Our favourite dish was the goats cheese with parma ham.

Went in Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve with both occasions having set menus where you get an assortment of tapas each. The New Year’s Eve price was £47.50 each which included a glass of Prosecco with antipasto for starters followed by lot of small dishes all very tasty and in the end too much to eat. Upstairs in the restaurant area you have live music with a relaxing vibe and served by friendly staff. We also had a bottle of Sauvignon blanc at £26.

Great tapas atmosphere and venue

Great food! The waitress advised us to order 2-4 plates per person but we ordered 2 tapas plates and a side and it was plenty of food, so I wouldn’t recommend ordering more than this unless you have a big appetite. The all the meat is really tender and every dish we ordered was brilliant. They have good GF and VG options as well. The interior is really cool and hip and it is somewhere I will definitely be coming to eat at again.

Came here as a party of 6, given a lovely round table that spins. Each ordered 2 tapas as a side. Good had excellent portions, all meat was incredibly tender, particularly the lamb and steak. The meatballs were packed with flavour aslong side all other dishes. Staff were friendly and helpful and food was delivered quickly. Atmosphere was great with good music and very well designed interior Would definitely recommend and go again

Fantastic food! Tried the tapas set menu, all the dishes were fantastic. Probably too much food(never thought I would say that). Service was excellent , friendly and courteous. Atmosphere and energy of the restaurant and bar was first rate. Will definitely visit again when in Sheffield.

Lately the music of the place has lost the essence of the real Cubanas. Also the bodyguards are unprofessional.

We have been a couple of times lately after not having been for sometime. We had nine dishes last night between two of us which was a little much and had eight the time before. Tried many dishes off the extensive menu and can’t really fault any of them - lovely! Obviously some are nicer than others, but overall enjoyed it. Struggle to find Tapas as nice as this when we are in Spain. Such a refreshing change to enjoy a meal so much.

I would love to give this 5/5 because of the food but there are a couple of reasons for the mark down. The first is that it is incredibly noisy, it is really hard to hear the person next to you let alone diagonally. Such a shame as it was for a group catch-up, (we are all in our early 30s) The second is the toilets, they were absolutely awful! Glad I visited after I had ate my food. Toilet rolls were empty as well. The food itself was very nice, lots of vegetarian options, so many it was hard to choose what to have! I really recommend the mushroom croquettes they were absolutely gorgeous. The sweet potato and pepper dish was extremely dry. My friends also said a couple of their dishes were quite dry as well. On the whole we enjoyed it. A group of 6 and our bill was around £146 so not too bad considering we all ate 2-3 tapas and sides and had drinks

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Sheffield. Booked a table for my birthday on 21st February with 3 girlfriends. From start to finish we had such an amazing time. We were really well looked after by all the staff and the food was fantastic as always!! The wine and cocktails also went down a treat especially when the lovely bartender made our friend a non alcoholic shot so she could be included in the celebrations, what a nice touch. Oh and the candle in my dessert made my day. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!!

First visit as we were in the city visiting son at Uni, superb, food and service was brilliant. Thanks Can’t say anymore.

Excellent tapas, we went for the Deluxe Tapas set menu and I can honestly say this was an absolute feast! Meat and cheese board to start with followed by multiple tasty dishes with something for everyone. Draft beer and Pina Coladas went down a treat, live music on nightly, you could honestly not ask for anymore.

After a stressful week Cubana is the best place in town to relax

Food is excellent and super value - you won't go home hungry!! Just watch out for the live music: if you get a table too close it can be too loud!

I had a date night here and it was perfect. The service was outstanding and super helpful. The food was delicious and came out quite quickly. The setting was really relaxed and fit the style of the name. Super impressed and we had a brilliant time

We came to Sheffield for the night and last minute booked this place. The only table available was at 6.15 and when we got there we could see why. What a buzzing and fabulous place. Great atmosphere, great staff and delicious food. Highly recommend.

Best night/dance club in Sheffield

Not the best experience. Our table was next to the door that went to the toilets.Every time the door opened we could smell the toilets. Bit off putting when you are sat having a meal. The food was ok…..some dishes better than the others. Really enjoyed the lamb. Was also over charged by £65.00. Luckily we noticed this and was soon corrected.

We came here for our girly night out and had the tapas as this was the set menu at Christmas. They brought the tapas out very quickly which meant there was not a lot of room on the table, but we managed. Our drinks order was taken when not everyone was sat down which meant we had to keep getting another waiters attention to take a drink order for all which wasn't ideal, it just came across like they were impatient. A waitress also started to remove our tapas dishes when they were not finished and only 1 hour into our 2 hour sitting, so we had to tell her that we don't want them taking yet. Again this just came across impatient and also a bit rude. The food was good though. When we had 45 minutes left we got told that they are going to need our table back which we understood, but we had a reservation for 2 hours and they were clearly trying to get rid of us early which I did not like. They brought our bill over at 7 and at 7:06 another waiter came and reminded us how they need our table and asked if we'd paid our bill, which we said we were awaiting a card machine. We eventually paid and they just seemed so eager to take our table and by 7:15 we left. I really did not like how they were so pushy to make us leave when we still had time available on our reservation, it's very rude. We then went downstairs for some drinks and a dance. I like the cocktail menu and the music is very Latin. Lots of people dancing. I definitely prefer downstairs to the restaurant.

Early evening tapas. Very busy, lively pre-theatre and show time. First class service and among the best tapas we have had anywhere in the world, including Spain.

I don't usually post negative reviews but Cubana's security guards are the worst in the whole of Sheffield. Me and my guys wanted to have a night out and decided to head to Cubana's first for a few drinks and the security guard just told us we are not allowed in because we are guys??? It happened multiple times. Once I wanted to get a drink by myself and the security guard said that I am not allowed in because I am by myself?? Literally worst security guards ever, I will gladly take myself and my crew and spend our money in any other nightclub than Cubana's (there are way better nightclubs in Sheffield anyways). 1/10 I don't recommend for a night out. Thanks and bye!

Eravamo in crisi alimentare, dopo tre giorni di cibo tipicamente inglese. Ci piace la cucina spagnola che gustiamo spesso avendo un figlio che vive in Catalogna. Per essere in Inghilterra abbiamo mangiato abbastanza bene. Inoltre, abbiamo trovato una simpaticissaima ragazza italiana che ci ha seguito fino alla fine. Abbiamo iniziato con alcune tapas per , poi, proseguire con la paella. Abbiamo innaffiato il tutto con dell'ottima sangria. Insomma. all spanish! Se volete assaporare un gusto diverso, vi consigliamo di mangiare a Cubana Tapas Bar. Dimenticavo una piacevolissima nota: la cena è stata accompagnata da musica dal vivo, soft, internazionale, per tutti i gusti. Complimenti al musicista.

The staff here are pretty on point and attentive. Their knowledge of rum and selection is one of the best I've seen. Food really wasn't ace and it's pretty expensive to not be that ace. Appreciate that it's a big menu and there might be good stuff on it but didn't get that this visit. The atmosphere is a bit weird too. Maybe more of a nighttime place than a sit outside place.

Great atmosphere full of dancers in the bar. We headed upstairs to eat. Wow. We tried the set menu with the starter. The food was all delicious, plentiful and with great service. Can't wait to go back.

We visited on the night of the Fiesta and wow, what an experience! The staff are so friendly and the atmosphere was great. I just felt sorry for the musician in the restaurant who was constantly being interrupted by a large group singing happy birthday every 5 minutes! Having been to Cuba, the restaurant is a really good interpretation! The food is absolutely gorgeous and the cocktails and amazing. We can’t wait to return!

We booked a table for 7:00 and it took us an extra 15 min to get to the table.It was very busy so we all understood. Food was ok although service was a bit chaotic.There were few mistakes with our order and nobody tried to sort for us. Anyways,when they brought the bill a 10% was automatically added what I think is wrong considering how bad the service was. As for the bar downstairs,just be careful as there is no menu in the bar so you don't have prices.

Absolutely beautiful tapas. It was a heaving busy Saturday but the waiters were so fast and friendly and attentive. It's the best tapas we've ever had and we've been many tapas restaurants. I'm vegetarian and my husband eats seafood and meat and both of us were utterly fulfilled by the menu options and delivery. Good portion sizes too. We don't live in Sheffield but want to come back just to eat here.

When on recommendations of a mate. I have to say to experience wast that great Down stairs serving drinks in plastic tumblers . Then up to the restaurant the seating for 2 diners is an awkward position in effectively the corridor against a wall so small we that we needed a extra table for the sharing menu. The set menu food was very hit and miss and light on portions size when it's supposed to be a sharing meal. 1 prawn each and 1 meat ball a piece 🙄 The potatoes were over cooked and burnt tasting the vegetables were very oily the pork unfortunately well over cooked and dry and unappetising.The bread albeit lovely there's no oil or butter etc to actually accompany this. The mozzarella was a bit basic and bland like a supermarket brand. I suppose the saviour was the Chicken and the rice dishes and the olives to snack on whist drink my very nice red wine and awaiting for the bill to eventually arrive

Great place for a lively night out. Live music both upstairs and downstairs at the bar. Tapas excellent 👌 and sangria very drinkable. £160 for 4 with 2 jugs of sangria and tapas. Recommended every time 🌟

If I could I would give you a zero!! We use to love going to Cubana. We haven't been in for about 5-6 months due to work changes and ect. However, me and my partner had a date night and decided to go for a cheeky cocktail. Before we even reached the entrance, the security guard, who was sitting outside Cubana waved at us that we are not allowed to come in! My partner went closer to him to find out what a problem was. The security guard said to him: you made trouble other night + fight. And then we both said, no chance, as we have not been in for a long time. After few more minutes of talking - security realised that he mixed up us with somebody else. All he said to us was: oh sorry. Dear Cubana owners! It is disgusting! Maybe consider changing some of your security. Really brought the mood and atmosphere down. We turner around and went somewhere else. If you are only sure 100% only than accuse! Absolutely horrible experience. Could be a nice place to enjoy, if not some unexperienced staff of yours.

As a regular customer of Cubana and an avid Salsa dancer I can say this is a place like no other. From the doormen, bar staff, waiting staff, management and owner I am made to feel very welcome every time I go there. On Saturday afternoons from 4pm until 8 pm the atmosphere is electric and Tuesday evenings are a great distraction from the working week. I don't often eat there but when I do the food is great and the service is excellent. The bar staff are polite and personable, even when they're rushed off there feet and they make killer cocktails. Finally a work about Ian and Ahmed on the door. They are incredibly professional, welcoming and polite. On the very rare occasions where there has been a need for them to intervene in a situation then they were decisive, discrete and efficient making me and the other customers feel safe and happy to enjoy the party for which Cubana is justifiably famous.

Took a partner and her kids to a surprise 60th surprise birthday meal. I was a little worried as we’d never had Tapas before but the food was gorgeous. Although the portions looked small I had 3 dishes and was very full afterwards. Great variety...

Just don’t do bottomless brunch. It’s really not worth it and left feeling out of pocket. The bit of food you get is excellent I can’t fault that, the atmosphere is good. Just the drinks are not exactly bottomless. You’ll probably average around two drinks Bottomless brunch is pure profit for this place. I’d happily come back for a main menu meal but not bottomless brunch.

Great food. Nice people. Good atmosphere. And value for money - especially if you catch the Happy Hour which is ideal for a pre-theatre early dinner.
