Barracuda in Hertsmere

Sadly this was not my best trip to this usually pleasant restaurant. I will not return after being called a bitch by the waiter! After he bumped into me why we waited for a table. Then rudely ordered me to wait at the bar. The most worrying part of this is that the food that fell onto the wraiters trousers...and was crushed with him trying to catch it was then served to the customer!!!! I will not return. Don't appreciate bei g called a bitch! Appalling behaviour and food was pretty awfull to go with it.

Yet another fabulous visit. Wonderful service, staff are so friendly attentive and efficient. Great food, I usually come from breakfast but today had lunch. It was really tasty and perfect portion. Thanks again for always being consistent and a fabulous team.

Met with my friends for lunch but unfortunately it was very disappointing as many children were screaming so loud we could not have a conversation. Also my omelet was very hard and unpleasant. I have no problem with children in restaurants but it should not spoil others experience.

We came for breakfast; twice now! Highly recommend as its delicious with great ambiance. Service was exceptional! If you want a chilled chatty restaurant with amazing service this is your place.

Popped in for breakfast as was passing and had the best omelette I’ve ever tasted. Really friendly service too will definitely pop in again.

We had a lovely lunch. Pizzas were delicious and well seasoned. Lots of vegetarian options which were really helpful to us. Staff members were all friendly and attentive. All in all, a great anniversary celebration!

The restaurant was very busy on Saturday lunchtime and the reason for that is that the food is excellent, the staff friendly and helpful and the place has a great ambiance.

The Food was disgusting none if us ate anything and they would not change it The Staff were rude. The service was slow / non existent

The last time we visited we gave a ‘ disappointed’ review - not the case this time! The brunch menu is full of excellent choices and we enjoyed our ‘full English’ and the ‘ Mediterranean’ breakfast, accompanied by fresh coffee, it set us up for the day. The staff were attentive and friendly - we look forward to our next visit .

We took our grandchildren out for lunch arrived at 1pm we asked to sit in the conservatory which is nice and warm and airy. We ordered everything from a sausage sandwich with hash browns, to a pizza from a chicken panini to a full English breakfast. Everything was hot and tasty, we all enjoyed our lunch. Easy to park at the back of the restaurant.

Haven't been to this branch fot some time but just enjoyed a nice lunch out with friends.Friendly staff and decent menu.

Tip : the restaurant has a conservatory at the rear which is a great place to sit in the summer Went for breakfast a Barracuda and from the moment we walked in the service was superb being warm, friendly and very attentive. The breakfast menu has a good choice of set dishes and you are able to build your own breakfast from a wide choice of ingredients. The food was very good with good sized portions and a nice choice of white, brown or sourdough toast. All dishes and drinks are excellent value for money and its great their is a car park at the rear with an entrance to the restaurant. Overall a great breakfast and we will return.

I took my best friend to lunch, it was the 1st time she had been there, although she lives in bushey. She loved it. the food is great and very good portions.Although sometimes when it's busy it does get rather loud

Booked a table with a friend for lunch. We were given a table by the kitchen door which was permanently open. The restaurant looked dishevelled and not very covid friendly. Didn’t stay to eat as didn’t feel comfortable so can’t comment on the food.

Had dinner there a few times in the last week or two good food and the serving staff were first class if you have not been give it a try you will be happy you did.

I was very disappointed to be charged £1.50 for hot water and a small slice of lemon. There were 5 of us that ordered this so a charge of £7.50 was on the bill. This item was not on the menu. I have never been...

A friend brought me here for a belated birthday treat. Restaurant very clean, decor simple but nice. Staff were really friendly and polite. Food was good, flavoursome, I had penned arabica and my friend had penne pollo chicken. Will definitely be coming again

An excellent restaurant with a lovely outside area fully covered by a glass roof. The service was exceptional and the lunchtime food menu was varied with a selection of omelettes, salads, burgers, jacket potatoes etc and all delicious. Reasonably priced too.

I visited this restaurant twice in one week (by invitation) and on each occasion the service was absolutely appalling. The staff were friendly, but only seemed interested in getting one course to their guests and then, if you wanted more, you had to walk around...

What set Barracuda apart from other restaurants- especially for daytime visits - was their menu which had many lovely options. Therefore we were all majorly disappointed to find on our visit this week that it has removed every one of those options. The menu is now extremely limited and we struggled to find anything we wanted as we didn't really want a big meal with chips!! All I can say is that The Delisserie Restaurant changed their menu that they were also famous for - they are no more!! Big big mistake Barracuda. We won't be visiting again for lunch until normal menu returns.

We were delighted to be able to book lunch here today but had quite the worst meal we have had for a long time. Two of us ordered the lamb shanks as it was the only item on the mains menu which didn’t come with chips. Normally the meat should just fall off the bone but the lamb was so tough that we couldn’t cut into it. When we complained, they were removed, chopped up and served re-warmed in the microwave, but still inedible! The restaurant would do better to buy them in as a ready meal from a supermarket.

We often meet our son and his 3 children here for brunch, and yesterday was no exception. They have made their outdoor space into a fantastic area, yesterday the roof had been retracted and all the doors around the structure had been opened.Full menu being served, by very friendly busy waiters. We ordered a lot of different dishes they were all served at the same time nice and hot and well cooked. We had everything from a Barracuda breakfast to eggs benedict, from smashed avocado on toast to a sausage sandwich with hash browns. I had had booked online and pleased I had, when we arrived at 11 already very busy, and while we were sitting there, they were turning people away.Plenty of parking toilets nice and clean

Visited Barracuda Bushey for the first time since lockdown. On line booking was very easy and highly recommended. The Barracuda have gone to a massive amount of trouble to build a Covid complaint stunning glass area on the open space at the back of the restaurant, with everything retractableThe menu as every is extensive, anything from an all day breakfast to a pannini, sandwich, omelette, jacket potato, salad, pasta to many substantial dishesService was excellent, food well presented and very good, cannot fault the first class experience in any way, especially in this very difficult time for restaurants.Many thanks to all for making this such an enjoyable visit

We visited on a Saturday in October, it was very busy & we were seated on a table which had condiments on. The menu we were given had come from a pile that had been used by other people. Then 4 people were seated close to us on a table which had a red tape cross, so it should not have been used. There was no real social distancing, staff were not wearing masks or visors. We were not asked to check it. The whole experience was concerning.

Have been going since they first opened. Great food from a varied menu, wonderful service, Never disappoints.

A friend and I went to the Barracuda in Bushey last Sunday 27th September 2020...the first thing that hit us, were the amount of people being packed in...no distancing...no throwaway menus, ours were just passed onto the next table, no throw away salt, pepper or sauces.No control over the amount of people streaming in..,,people coming in the back entrance, were literally pushing into the back of my chair, as there was no more room to stand....when my friend asked them to move, they just laughed! The waiting staff could hardly cope. Children were allowed to run around! People were shouting at their friends at another table, going over and talking...making it more crowded. The food? Pretty awful actually, fast food at its worst. When I phoned to speak to the manager this morning, he couldn’t wait to get me off the phone.,said he would tell his ‘boss’...when I asked for his bosses email address, he wouldn’t give it...the ‘boss’ obviously doesn’t like any criticism.. I actually phoned the Stanmore branch, I was told there was no email address! I can’t imagine what it would be like in there, when there is no virus?!

They were clearly struggling to cope with the numbers of customers at lunchtime today. We booked a table and we're left waiting ages. Had to seat ourselves. Nobody came to take the order despite repeatedly asking to be served. Many people were coming up to pay as the waiting staff were not dealing with customers. One person complained that there was no social distancing outside. The waitress didn't want to address this.In the end we left, and went over the road to the Italian. A little bit of curiosity and an apology would have helped. But if you don't train the staff this is the result. Disappointing.

Had my Birthday Luncheon on the 24th July here and we all thoroughly enjoyed the Food which was excellent..The very attentive and Superb Service received..I believe the Lady serving had only recently started work here..Definitely an asset to your Company..so professional and friendly..Overall I would highly recommend the Barracudda for Great food..Excellent Service..and a Very nice outside seating area..We all agreed on this and will definitely be returning as soon as is possible..5 Stars..Thank you..

I have always enjoyed Barracuda so when a friend suggested meeting up on Wednesday 08th July for the first time post lockdown I jumped at the chance.As I have had health issues I thought it would be sensible to have a read on their website as to what precautions they had in place.I was very happy to read their “Reopening plan” some of which stated“Seating arrangements have changed to comply with 1+ metre distance rule”“Both front and back end staff will be wearing gloves and face masks at all times”We arrived on time, and yes there was sanitiser gels available ( although it was noted that not all clients that entered made use of them, which was a little disturbing and maybe staff should be more attentive when clients enter.My main concerns were that NONE of the staff were wearing either gloves nor face masks as stated on their website and when my food arrived the waitress was actually holding the toast down with her thumb!! I would not have liked that even if we were not in the midst of a pandemic!The ketchup came in a paper pot.......which we had to share?!?My other issue was, yes some tables have been removed ( in front of the toilets) but the rest, along the wall, seemed too close together, there was a single man at the table next to us and my friend could have very easily rubbed shoulders with him, surely removing the tables outside the toilets would give you more room to spread out?Unfortunately I shall not return until these issues are sorted as per guidelines

Since my first review several years ago have always had good meals and service, so during the pandemic lockdown we have been getting takeaways from different restaurants in the area.I decided on the chicken burger which I was told was really good. Sadly not. The chicken fillet in breadcrumbs was burnt and very dry, could not finish it.It probably will not stop me going here as my wife likes it, and previous meals have been good. Maybe a one off, just why they could not see the black stripes in the breadcrumbs. Lazyness.

Use this restaurant frequently and always enjoy it. Fair value for the early evening menu. Food is always good and freshly prepared. Staff excellent and not too pushy.

Been a couple of times. Breakfast enormous and hot. Pasta at dinner nice but not as plentiful as breakfast. Staff helpful. Better value at breakfast/brunch than evening meal.

Excellent menu great sevice will try and meet any dietary requirements. also serves the Best coffee in Watford.Staff always helpful and friendly.

Popped in for a coffee this afternoon on passing through Bushey. After requesting the bill, I went to use the (one and only) ladies loo. Commenced waiting at the door. Other customers came and went and decided not to queue. After about 15 minutes the ladies loo door eventually opened and out came our male waiter - despite the male toilets (plural) being empty and right next door!

Good deal offered by restaurant provided you ordered before 19.00 but food did not meet expectations. Service OK and plenty of parking to the rear.

First visit to this resturant and was pleasantly surprised. We arrived as booked at 7 pm and there was space aplenty and staff available but not pushy. We were 5 at the table, all orders were delivered together which is a step up from those poor experiences elsewhere! We were all pleased with our meals which had pasta, chicken and seafood dishes with no complaints. Sde dishes were as described and generously portioned.

Someone recommended I visit this restaurant. So o popped in for their set menu. Two courses for 12.90.

Went there for family lunch. Breakfast was amazing. Sausage especially. But seafood linguine was like a pepper bath, which the chicken dish was rubbery. But in fairness they took off both the linguine and chicken from the bill which was a nice gesture. Come for the breakfast for sure; tread carefully with other more complex meals. Service was good even though the restaurant was busy.

Took my wife to celebrate her retirement. Had been to the place in Watford previously, so was hoping would be just as good. Was not disappointed. Sat outside in a nice courtyard. Service and food superb. Will be going again soon.

Friendly and quick service, relaxed dining even when very busy. There's a good varied menu during the day which offers more choice in the evenings. Parking can be a problem so allow time to find a convenient space in the easily accessible car park at the rear of the restaurant.

Lovely setting especially the outside seating area in the sunshine. Food was delicious, reasonably priced and served in good sized portions by polite and helpful members of staff. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Two of us ate there on Saturday evening and had a fabulous meal. Great food, delightful staff, not too noisy so you could talk easily and a nice ambience. Thoroughly recommend.

The service varies hugely here. Today we waited as staff went to and fro, and then had to call someone over to get a menu. I asked for white bread and got granary.

Good menu with plenty of choice for all tastes. Prices reasonable, including alcohol. Food was well cooked, well portioned and very tasty. Staff friendly and attentive. Will certainly return.

My husband and I often take our young grandchildren here. Either for breakfast or early supper. The staff are amazing with kids. The food is of good quality and tasty. Always hot and portions generous. I pop in about twice a week for a very good coffee. It can get very busy and you can book so do so if more than 2 of you to avoid disappointment.

We had been hard at work on the garden all day so a celebration dinner was welcomed. As always the staff were friendly and efficient. A nice touch is the candle in the dessert with Happy Birthday piped on the plate. The food was filling and delicious. Thank you we will be back!

My husband and I have only been to Barracuda for lunch so we decided to go for dinner. My husband wanted a burger but it was not on the menu. They made one for him. I had vegetarian pizza with courgettes, aubergine and mushrooms on it. We both enjoyed or meals.

Very busy on arrival, friends had their drinks, but had to wait for a few minutes but after that all was OK. Good food and wine, reasonably priced. Service good, pleasant staff. We thought the ambience could have been better if the lights weren't so bright, but overall an enjoyable night. I would go there again.

The service here is great and the breakfast is really tasty. A great selection. You can park behind (Kemp place) and enter from the back door.

Great place to go for breakfast or lunch. Loved the all day breakfast menu. Very varied menu with generous portions. Restaurants transforms into a very nice dinner venue in the evenings.

Ordered a ham and mushroom pizza to collect. Very disappointing - hardly any ham or mushroom in a sea of cheese. Four slices just had a half slice of dried up mushroom on each one. Won't be going back as nothing nice about it.

Nicely laid out with stepped access from the public car park at the rear. The food was excellent with generous portion sizes, I couldn't finish it all. The staff were discreet and provides good service. We were able to enjoy an unhurried meal and already looking forward to sampling other dishes on a great menu.

Went with friends on Sunday night I was pleasantly surprised it’s local parking is easy and easy accessible by a ramp if you need wheelchair access. Food really nice portion is huge so if you are small eater like to me you might want to share

We popped into Barracuda for a couple of hot chocolates, and to read the newspaper. The drinks were reasonably priced at £2.30 each and they have soya milk for those who have a dairy intolerance. The service was very friendly and efficient, and it wasn't overly busy which meant that you could easily have a chat without having to shout. Although we didn't have any food, the dishes did look nicely cooked and substantial. There is also free Wi-Fi which is handy. We will definitely return next time we are in Bushey.

Been in there many times some of the menu is good , staff unfortunately are awful just playing the get into England take take take game .

The food is very good for meat eaters and vegetarian alike , The staff are marvellous, efficient yet always make you feel so important even at very busy times Well done

we have been on numerous occasions and always had good food and prices which are 20 percent cheaper than other places good for lunch with a very varied menu

Brilliant place to go for breakfast when in the area and always in receipt of consistently good service.

We got in here for a late meal on a Friday night. There is plenty of room inside and the decor is nice. They allowed us to share a main dish (with two side salads-- which are nice and large). The tuna steak looked big enough for three so it was good we only ordered one. Friendly service, nice atmosphere.

Been many times to barracuda for breakfast. Their sausages are excellent as is the coffee there. However their eggs definitely aren’t free range but overall a good full English!

Came here early Saturday evening with my dad who loves his Italian food. This is about the fifth Italian restaurant we have tried in the Radlett/ Bushey area and without doubt the best!

This was our Sons 40th for at least 30 including children. We had chosen our food before the party so it did help the chef

This is a gem of a restaurant,good selection of good food and at really reasonable prices. Some times difficult to get in so booking in advance is required.You won't be dissappointed.

Interesting choice of breakfasts beyond the traditional. Good coffee too.My husband loved the mediterranean breakfast with olives and Halloumi. My English was lovely too. Best sausage I've had for a long time.

Me and my colleagues came here for our leaving do and the food was good, very good portions. My colleague messed up the number of people coming, but they were really attentive and helpful.

Met friends of my wife's here after it had been recommended to them. Lots of free parking out the back. Lots of people there for lunch. An incredibly popular restaurant with excellent, well priced food. No pressure to leave and spent about three hours there. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It has apparently become a great place to eat since new owners took over.

There were 8 of us for dinner at Barracuda for a friend’s surprise birthday. The staff were very accommodating to our requests. We chose to sit indoors.

We were recommended Barracuda by our hotel concierge and went for dinner on a busy Friday night. Service was very good all night with a wide selection of Italian dishes. My friend had the Vitello Milanese with spaghetti bolognese while I had the chicken tagliatelle with pine nuts in cream sauce which was great.

A great place for breakfast, brunch or evening meal. You can access from the car park which is helpful Staff, food and service all excellent. They have an umbrella patio out the back which is perfect in this hot weather

I love this place. From breakfast on the sunny terrace to dinner in the air conditioned restaurant, this place is great. The staff are attentive and friendly, there is a great choice of food and it’s reasonably priced. The pre-7pm dinner deal is very good value.

Our second year here. The food for 40 people was absolutely fantastic. To produce such quality in such quantity is amazing. Thanks to Giovanni and Franco for a wonderful evening. We will of course be back.

Working nearby this is our regular stop for lunch on a Wednesday.

We have been to Barracuda twice, a Saturday in April & a Saturday in June. Both visits there were four of us, both visits the food was fantastic, both visits the service was poor as there were not enough staff working. The first time we waited almost 25 minutes from being seated to being asked what we would like to drink. The second time was worse and it took an hour for our meals to arrive after we ordered them. Come on Barracuda, you deserve 5 stars, please schedule more staff in the evening.

Husband is a paramedic and got called out to someone taken unwell at this restairant a few weeks ago and thought it looked like quite a nice place. Suspect he fancied the patients pudding!
