Was scranning bare and loved the food that was delivered to me. Also the cod was absolutely delicious. The best fish and chip shop around

Food was good drink was good hygiene was good price was good 10/10 I’d come 100 times a day highly underrated and should get much more customers in my opinion.

We needed to get some take-away fish and chips. We didn't like the reviews given to Harry Ramsden's by the pier and there would have been the extra cost of parking to pay. We saw the good reviews and decided to give it a try. Good things: it was open on a Monday night, which a lot of places are not; the staff were polite and helpful; the excellent cod and chips came in a useful cardboard box, as we sat and shared them in the car outside!

My local... my favourite... the best! Really just have to post this! This chip shop has been a part of Moordown for so long now and I don’t know how these owners do it, but it’s never been better. The last owners tried their best and it was in fact quite good, but now it is consistently good. Lovely chips! Amazing fish! Best in the area by far. Such warm, welcoming staff, with these depressing times, their smiles are almost worth the visit alone. COVID care taken, from what I could see, just impeccable. Would never go anywhere else for certain. Please keep it up! 👍

ordered Fish and chips for my family and paid and was asked to wait outside. I could not help noticing that the Lady serving and wrapping the food was not wearing a face covering. The older gentleman behind the counter who I assume is the fryer was wearing his under his chin offering no protection. My number was called and i asked about their face coverings only to be told by the lady who served me, who was wearing one, that they did not need to. there was a younger gentleman who became agatated and told me to get out whilst coming towards me. the older gentleman stopped him coming any closer. Obviously they think they are above Covid-19 safety. they offer no duty of care to the public. I did video them whilst I was waiting outside for my order.

We went and got fish and chips and really enjoyed the food , but I was surprised to see no masks and no screens. I’m not sure if it’s mandatory but even if it’s not I would do this to reassure customers. I wouldn’t go there again because of this reason and more because it seems like they don’t care enough to show They have tried to reduce transmission . Everyone else is doing it why not just do it ?

Queued a while to be served as everything was being cooked fresh. The chips were good and the large haddock did not disappoint. I've had much better, but, as a Northern Lad, I prefer my fish and chips cooked in dripping.

Well presented, clean premises with easy parking close by. The food ordered was take away for home. The quality was excellent, the portions very fair indeed and excellent value for money. It was our second visit and now we are hooked. See you soon Barnacles!!!

I've been before but this time on a Friday evening they had run out of Fish!! Not impressed by a Fish & Chip shop that runs out of Fish on a Friday night. Wasn't that late either.

Great menu and pleasant staff. Always cooks our fish orders fresh. Can be busy early evening so be prepared for a short wait but well worth the wait.

Today I did a direct comparison between Barnicles and the award winning Malvern road fisheries. I ordered a small haddock with small chips and a pea fritter from both shops at lunch time on Friday. I shared them with a friend and we both came up with the same result. Malvern road fisheries gave us an enormous portion of chips most of which ended up in the bin as there was far too many to eat. Generous fish portion however batter was flaky. The pea fritter was colourless and tasted of nothing. The Barnicles chips were thick and chunky and crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Again the fish portion was generous and the batter crisp and looked more appetising. The pea fritter was a deep green and tasted wonderful. So there you have it. So why then hasn't Barnacles won an award guess the judges didn't visit them. I have been going to Barnacles for the last 10years and have always had fantastic fish and chips. Also Barnacles were 20p cheaper. Don't get me wrong both chip pies were good only Barnacles were better.

In my mind, best fish and chip shop in Winton and probably best in area. Excellent fresh fish, good chunky chips and decent portions sizes. Plus fish batter was crispy and nothing was too greasy.Delivered in a spotlessly clean shop with friendly staff. I do recommend this place but expect a queue because its built up a good reputation and is popular.

Very good fish and chips however, the wait is often up to 45 mins which despite similar queues at other local places is much more than it needs to be. The portion sizes are massive and a small chips for example is enough for a normal family of four. Slightly expensive also, over £7 for a large cod and small chips.
