Han sido CUATRO veces. Dos ocasiones fueron geniales. En los otros dos, A PESAR de tener una reserva, aparecimos para encontrar el lugar CERRADO. Llegó este sábado a las 7 pm en punto, para nuestra comida de aniversario RESERVADA, para encontrar el lugar cerrado. Llamé al número de la puerta y no hubo respuesta. Llamé repetidamente durante la noche y no hubo respuesta. Hemos estado en tres ocasiones anteriores, y en dos tuvimos una comida encantadora, pero en la otra, lo mismo: NADIE. Me rindo. Parece que solo puede molestarse en aparecer si tiene muchas reservas, y no te llama para decirte que no puede molestarse en abrir para tu comida reservada. Dos de cada 4 no es suficiente. No volveremos a ir allí. No es así como trata a sus clientes cuando han reservado previamente. . Vergonzoso.

Had been given a Groupon meal voucher for the restaurant. When I telephoned them to book a table I was informed that the restaurant had permanently closed for business.

Had booked via groupon for Saturday eve at 7.30. When we arrived the place was in darkness. A man opened the door and said “oh you must be Helen. I sent you an email to say we were shut this eve”. (He had but less than an hour before booking and after we had left home). Wow! We were the only people to have booked in an otherwise busy and popular part of town. That says something about the restaurant!!

It was early evening on a wet and windy day so not busy but we were greeted very warmly and the service was efficient and friendly. We had been given a voucher as a present so to have such a lovely meal and not even have to pay was great. Seriously the food was very good the portions are not huge but when you are having 3 courses it was plenty. So if you are in the area and fancy some nice fish you can't go wrong in choosing this pleasant restuarant.

Lovely meal. Lovely service. We will definitely be back for more. The food was cooked to perfection not too much, but enough. Also the tables were spaced apart, if you wanted to have a private conversation you could and didn't have to squeeze past other diners to leave the table.

The place is lovely and so was the member of staff trying to take care of all the tables, need more staff. My friend had the cheese starter which was basically 3 different cheeses on toast. The main we had the seabass which was nice except didn't come with chroizo and had a ham/bacon instead. Don't have the cheeseboard. I can only think they must've used all the cheese on the starters as when the board came out was just a very small amount of cheddar and lots of lettuce!!! Shame as the main and staff were lovely just the starters and desserts let it down.

Came here with a groupon voucher, the starter to be fair was very nice but the seabass fillet was bream the potatoes were hard and dry the sauce with the fish was 3 tiney pots 1 with half a teaspoon of seafood sauce 1 with a green oil and the 3rd with a vile tartare sauce not sauces I would expect with a fillet of fish in a fish restaurant. Dessert was supposed to be key lime cheesecake it was i believe a strawberry cheesecake from Iceland which was still frozen. The waiter took our plates still pretty full with food and didn't even ask if everything was ok. Definitely wouldn't return.

Went with friends with a groupon voucher. After seeing mixed reviews we weren’t sure what to think - but it was delicious! Everything was fresh and full of flavour! Our waiter was calm and polite - always on hand if needed without hovering. Restaurant itself was clean and modern, loved the decor - would come again 100%

Anybody who complains on here is too stuck up themselves expecting the best of the best for £28. The owner was a delight and very welcoming, attentive and friendly. We had the full 3 course choice from the menu with the groupon voucher, (dishes ranging from £6 to £18.50) so to pay £28 for a bill that would have reached £60+ is amazing value. The starters were admittedly a bit low key, but it was all gearing up to the main course. I had the monkfish and my partner had the sea bass. Delightful! They were both outstanding dishes and the size of the portions was huge. I would pay full price and more for the monkfish, I was very very pleased with what was served. A few mentions about the puddings rang true, it was clearly a frozen dessert from a supermarket (but was a good tasting frozen dessert!) but that doesn’t detract away from everything else.There were no delays in the food, even with just the one manager on shift and having to do a lot of clearly u planes reshuffles as the restaurant got busier through the eve. He never once neglected a table nor delayed a thing. Basically a wonderful little restaurant serving high quality fish main courses, with amazing value when using groupon. But when you are selling them at over half price I can understand cutting back a bit on the smaller courses. And in all honesty if you’re going to complain there was too much lettuce on your starter as I have seen a few times on here then you are just going to loan about anything you can possibly think of. Highly recommended - just please see past the puddings and enjoy what you are really there to enjoy, the fish!

We went here last night. We used a groupon voucher. It was barely good value with the voucher so I’m so pleased we did not pay the full amount.

Found this restaurant on big dish app, quaint little restaurant in Westbourne arcade. Service was excellent, food was well presented and well cooked. Waiter was polite and nothing was too much.

Arrived not expecting too much due to some bad reviews , these people must be so fussy . All 3 courses were lovely , I would definitely go back , even at full price !!!

Eating light tonight but just wanted to say that I've just had a wonderful sea bass meal. Couldn't have been cooked better.

We had a Groupon for two this evening. The waiter was pleasant, the resturant was quiet for a Friday night. We were offered 3 courses and asked to order all courses at the start, my dinner partner did ask why do we need to order our sweet at the beginning?? I joked so they could get it out the freezer! Did not realize how close to the truth I would be. My three cheeses with bread starter turned out to be three pieces of cheese on toast, my friends turned into some green leaves with a bit of cheese. She queried her grilled monkfish was in fact monkfish? My cod was most certainly not cod!! Pudding turned into defrosted strawberry cheesecake from Tesco or Iceland budget range. Very poor meal, when we left the resturant was empty but all the other resturant in Westbourne were all full!! Cannot recommend this resturant.

Visited this restaurant with my wife for our anniversary treat. As a professional skipper I have eaten sea food all over the world. I must say this ranks up there with the best of them. Forget these other negative reviews they are from people who just want to complain about everything. The owner was a nice friendly fella, when I go to a fish restaurant I go three to sample the fish I am not too fussed about the starters and desserts that’s neither here nor there for me I can taste those anywhere. The sea bass I had was cooked to perfection just as good as Rick Steins to which I had to pay £89.99 for the same dish.

Our crab cake starter was full of flavour with a good texture, whilst the calamari was crispy yet tender; all augered well for our main courses of paella.

Well clearly Groupon is not a good for a restaurant reading other reviews.

We booked this through Groupon, 3 course meal for 2 people £28. Too good to be true, how true is that saying. Sadly, we read reviews prior to the day which were very mixed, however overall they weren't looking good, we went with an open mind though. The waiter we are guessing owner was the only person we saw during our meal was pleasant FULL STOP. Our starters were very tasty and adequate portion sizes so no complaints there. The main sadly did not follow suit, overcooked pork which on the menu said pork belly,it was pork steak, the whole dish was bland. The Seabass was ok we ordered. Desserts ...cheeseboard was a joke, 3 of the smallest pieces of cheese ive ever seen in my entire life with the brie curled at the edges. The biggest joke was that all the way through our stay the waiter/owner stood behind the counter looking at his laptop never once coming over to ask if everything was ok..bizarre behaviour. There was only us and 2 other couples and he never came over to any of us. When he took away our main dishes he asked ok and I shook my head saying not really. He simply smiled and walked away.. hahaha yes it was laughable. Obviously this Italian owner doesn't read the reviews people are leaving about his business or he would behaviour very differently to his customers. We are not angry or annoyed at our experience as we were prepared having read other reviews. Sadly though the owner is a joke and he needs to call in expert advice to show him where he is going wrong.

Firstly the food was delicious, the lonesome 1 manager who ran the bar, took orders and watered was rushed off his feet. Thankfully we went just as it opened so got our ordered in quickly.

I purchased a Groupon offer for our 1st visit to SeaBass Italian restaurant in Westbourne Arcade Bournemouth. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the gentleman who looked after us was charming. I can recommend their fish and chips which were delicious! We will certainly return to sample some of their other dishes. Give them a try. MrsP

On entering the Seabass I was surprised to find no one in there eating. Then I found out why! The three course menu had been changed from the advert. If you like lettuce you get plenty with a small amount of fish in your starter and main course.

Went on a Groupon deal but worth full price

A strange mix of pleasant food, odd service and awful wine. Whatever you do don’t order the house white! Most of the reviews describe poor service, l agree, it was quiet when we were there and still we still struggled to order a different wine (to wash away the house white).

I purchased a Groupon voucher, £26 for 2x 3 course meal and a refreshment. Because the mains range from £16-28 this was really good value, however our experience was mostly disappointing.

Pleasantly surprised by this little restaurant having read the reviews prior to going. Very attentive staff and perfect service. The food was outstanding a little high priced for us personally but we went with a Groupon deal so was amazing value. We will defiantly be returning!

Me and my friend had a starter and a main each, the food was gorgeous and the service was outstanding. They even gave us a free cheese board afterwards. I would definitely recommend it.

Odd experience, prosecco tasted like tonic water and wine not good. Food OK ish but not what was on the menu. Waiter (who was also a bit odd) tried to make amends by not charging for prosecco and later giving us 2 free glasses but should have come earlier. Will not be returning.

This was a very cheap deal with Groupon so wasn’t expecting much which is just as well.

I am surprised that I am the only person to give 3 stars to this place. People either seem to love it or hate it.

Had a Groupon voucher & was not over optimistic having read some reviews but service was attentive & friendly, food was delicious & amazing value. The 3 cheese starter was lovely & both my sea bass & my husbands monk fish were lovely. I don t like sauce with my fish & did taste the3bowls of sauce which accompanied the sea bass but found 2 of them very hot.

The waiter / front of house was really creepy, starter of salmon and prawn was miniscule, 4 thin slices of salmon and one prawn, main course was sort of ok. Then the desert arrived, crumble with a tiny jug of custard that was one third full. The waiter for some unknown reason never cleared the table until your next course arrived. If you like value for money, average portions, good service this place is not for you.

If you like unique and stylish place with excellent food and personal touch service this is a perfect place to visit. Small and very cozy place with small but delicious menu, run by owner from Italy. You will enjoy every single moment , lovely music also:)We would come back very soon. Thank you.

Somewhat alarmed by the online reviews being so diametrically opposed. Still we thought we'd give it a chance. We found the owner to be attentive, friendly and sincere. Food was good although some of the portions may be a bit small for some but were right for me. The puddings, which were nice, could have been a bit warmer.

This establishment put no effort into the food so little effort from me for this review. Briefly.

Went for a meal with friends. Food was superb and beautifully presented. Service was very good as well. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. So good we have booked to go again next week. Well worth visiting you won't be disappointed.

we are two couples and arrived quite early but nevertheless received a warm welcome and shown to our table. i was concerned about recent negative reviews but nothing could be further from the truth. The menu was mainly seafood as you would expect I had calamari starter and whole sea bass for main course and cheesecake for dessert. My description of all three courses was, delicious and the rest of the party agreed wholeheartedly. The restaurant quickly filled up and glancing around occasionally, the other diners seemed to be enjoying this excellent dining experience as much as ourselves. The couple with us have booked to go again next week with another couple to share this experience with them. I live in Weymouth, have no connection with Seabass Restaurant and do not know the owner and would normally not review eating out but someone needs to give this restaurant the credit it deserves

Great welcome by manager, excellent 3 course meal, at very reasonable price. So good that we are returning next week

4 Of us went for dinner dreadful when we arrived was told they were going to call and say dont come as his supplier had not delivered i wish he had ! my daughter was up all night being ill !says it all never again!

We have been to Sea Bass twice in two months, both times we have been very impressed by the food.

Booked lunch for my friend's birthday through Groupon all confirmed via e-mail, 90 minutes before the meal Somer , the Manager of Seabass rang to say they do not provide lunch , No apology , too late to book anything else. I cannot recommend Groupon or this restaurant . Avoid both .

Had dinner here on a groupon deal, had a look at menu on line of which there were two, looked very nice, but .....,

Went for an anniversary dinner with the misses. Arrived and the place was dead (normally says alot) they weren't expecting us even though we booked. The restaurant was cold. They played music via a phone speaker! The starter I had was calamari more tentacles from said then squid rings. The main when it finally arrived with empty plates on the table for over 20 minutes. They didn't have sea bass available (the restaurant is bloody called sea bass) other main they just served with chips which the menu says it comes with lots of nice sounding food. The deserts arrived and the sticky toffee pudding was a small dish of toffee sauce no sponge what so ever. The service was the worst I've experienced and the food was way beyond poor. The 2 chefs left before we did. Please everyone save yourselves the disappoint and just eat elsewhere unless you like the disappoint.

Had a groupon voucher date booked for April 9th, which had to be done online as we were informed by the miserable manager so that they would get paid !!

I’d purchased a Groupon deal for here as it seemed like a good deal and was excited to try it. The food was just ok but it’s what happened after the meal that left the bad taste in my mouth. The owner walked in and there were only 3 tables. He walked over to 2 of the tables and asked if they enjoyed their meal and skipped right over us! We’d already finished and payed and we just chatting. My partner saw that i was annoyed and said let’s just go, i said no let’s sit here a few more minutes and give him the opportunity to come to us. He never did. He completely ignored us!

Food was average at best. Very quiet but left with dirty plates on our table for 15-20 minutes after starters and main. However, when we were eating our desserts, the waiter(owner?) was hovering with his coat on making us feel very uncomfortable.

I’ll confess up front I’m a ‘seafoodaholic’ so it ain’t easy to make me give a thumbs up....but . I had charred octopus & chorizo (that i’ve since had again!) which was cooked to perfection with a spice blend chef wouldn’t give away(damn). This was followed by a tasting platter of seabass, salmon tartare, king prawns & deconstructed lobster!! Well done guys....really really lovely
