Enjoyed again, it’s somewhere we always go when visiting Bournemouth. Menu and food both good with prices ok for the area but service didn’t quite lift itself to match the best

Unfortunately a disappointing experience. I stopped for a quick bite and a glass of wine. Placing an order took a while. I then waited a considerable amount of time and then noticed my meal(half lobster) sat under the heat lamp going cold. I still didn’t have my drinks. I noticed a waiter pic the food up and realise I was without drinks and so put the food back down and wandered off. Then the drinks arrived flowed but the luke warm food. All a bit of a shambles. This was all added to by the inappropriate chatter coming from the open kitchen. Overall a messy and unorganised service in a place where I expected better.

Wasn't sure what to from this beach front restaurant, but the food was excellent. We both had fish & chips, the fish was haddock and so fresh it melted in the mouth. The chips which a lot of places don't do well also really lovely. The portion size looked small but was just right in the end. Definitely recommend this place.

What a lovely relaxing place , for meal , drinks and meeting up . Only went in for a drink . Highly recommend the place . Go along and see for yourself.

We came for a couples getaway and stopped by for lunch and can say it was amazing service and great food. And thank you to the amazing waiter Edgar really made our day friendly, funny and helpful. Would recommend to anyone coming to Bournemouth beach

Some of the tastiest seafood I've had in a while. Absolutely amazing. Great view of the beach and sea. Top service and great atmosphere. I wanted to order one of everything on the menu, great options. They even got me an affagato which wasn't listed on the menu.

Great place. Great atmosphere. Banging tunes. Pricey here and portions of food are small but ok for a one off visit.

They forgot our mains and it took a lot longer to serve. A mistake that the assistant manager rectified immediately, he was very professional. Had the mussels and the sea-bass. The food was excellent, the service overall fantastic 👍

Tasty! And fulfilling, with great service from Manny. We came from Coventry for a day at the beach. Tried several restaurants around the area, with no luck due to not serving food or being closed. We enjoyed two portions of fish and chips, which was served with tartar or curry sauce and mushy peas. Large latte and coke zero. The restaurant temperature was perfect. Could hear the music outside but not blaring in. Great ambience and much needed dinner. Thank you.

Amazing location and great choice of local seafood! We visited for an early dinner with our 9 year old who enjoyed kids meal. Friendly staff and very accommodating. Very popular place so be prepared, it’s always busy!

Such great service here and so lovely to sit right by the promenade! The coffee was really nice, we’ve had breakfast here in the past and that was great too - definitely recommend this place.

We thought this place might have been overpriced average food due to the beachfront location, but it was amazing quality food and a great location. If you are looking for great food, beach music from the bar opposite, atmosphere, welcoming to families, and overall nice experience, then head here over the cheap but expensive places you typically get in these locations and head here. We had a 2 year old, and they had high chairs, crayons for colouring, and the kids' portions were good size and tasty. Highly recommend if you love seafood.

Service was extremely poor, staff least interested, forgot to provide drinks, when asked for water on a day when the temperature was 30degrees it was completely ignored!

no seafood burgers and pizza they’re selling my simple burger the patty was raw on terrible heat I am on the toilet now on my holiday my wife throw up I was overcharged 16 pounds da for things I didn’t order I payed service charge Evan I needed to order tru the app or to go at the bar where I was overcharged nice music but the services and the food and the menu are from the past terrible I was expecting more I eat every year there this time was the worst instead to go further they destroy the customers holidays o will never go there

Lovely dinner with colleagues, food is very good and service was top.

Visited last year and the food was amazing the best fish and chips. However went back again this year and it was awful. We ordered haddock and chips my fish portion was so tiny half the size of my partners, the batter was also weird and the chips were sparse and really should have said something but I was hoping the lack of size would be made up in taste . We mentioned it to the waiter after when he asked if everything was ok but he just said oh sorry about that and that was it. The table behind ordered the same and had normal proportion fish so I felt really cheated and ripped off sadly will not go back.

This was our second visit after visiting a few years ago. The food was fantastic when it came; however, the "artisan breads" starter was quite overpriced (£7 for a few slices of bread). The service was quite slow which was the same as the previous experience, despite it not being busy at all.

Bloody hell. This place was SO good! We came with our baby and they were ver accommodating. The giant prawns were so fresh - I went with the unlimited marg+prawn deal and was well worth it. My baby had the mussels and my husband had a variety of veggie dishes. Lovely staff, excellent food. Toilets could do with sprucing up but I guess it kinda fits with the whole beachfront vibe. Lovely place and would come again.

The most miserable staff I have ever been served by. Not one smile. They need to reconsider their jobs if they don’t want to work there. It’s a customer service role!!

The portions are tiny and way overpriced. The service was incredibly slow, waited maybe 50 minutes for a veggie breakfast & 3 pancakes. Would not recommend.

Sat outside in the sun for coffee and cake. Really good cake!

Had a delightful champagne breakfast at WestBeach which is located right on the beachfront. The food was beautifully cooked and delicious. We did have a long wait for food but we were happy to be fitted in as we had not pre-booked. We were offered coffee while we waited but it wasn't clear if it would be complimentary. It was a lovely place to spend some time though in the sunshine and the staff were very friendly. I saw a sign for a loyalty scheme which would be great for people who visit regularly. I'd love to go back for main meal in the future.

Started of well with quick polite service and the starter of mussels soon after . The wait of 55mins for fish and chips was a bit to long especially as others who came after were getting their mains quite quickly. We have been many times but this wasn't the standard we were expecting. We paid the tip this time as the food was still OK except a few undercooked chips.

I am reviewing to express my disappointment with the service I received during my recent visit to your establishment. Upon arrival, we were not asked if we would like a drink, nor were we approached to place our food order until I managed to get the attention of a staff member after waiting for thirty minutes. When our food finally arrived, the order was incorrect, and the waitress questioned our accuracy despite the clear difference between chicken and squid. While I understand that mistakes can happen, I expect a higher standard of service, particularly given the prices charged. On a positive note, the food itself was good, and the barman was pleasant and attentive. However, the overall experience was marred by the lack of attention and care from the waitress, which bordered on the comical in its disregard. It is fortunate that your restaurant is in such a prime location, which is a redeeming factor. I hope that the owners see this feedback and address these issues, as I am confident that such poor service would not occur under their supervision.

Average. We hadn’t been here for a couple of years. But as we had family visiting we decided to pay it a visit. Table had debris underneath when we arrived. Clearly hadn’t been swept from the previous customers. The view of the beach from the restaurant has been changed by their expansion onto the beach with more tables (perhaps that was where most of their staff were concentrated because the service in the actual restaurant was poor). We had to remind for our main courses as it seemed we had been forgotten. When they arrived my hubby’s looked like it had been cooked ages ago, whilst the other main courses looked freshly cooked. We had to remind for water once we had run out. Such a shame as the menu looks so lovely, with some interesting specials that looked delicious. However, the service and attention to detail lets it down. If the service and food matched the prices they charge they’d be onto a winner.

We were there for over an hour, had to ask for our wine, houmous never came and the staff didn't really seem bothered. I can see the restaurant is rated 4.1 - I'm assuming this is hours to be served, not quality out of 5.

3rd visit here in the last decade and still my go to when visiting Bournemouth, for breakfast or for lunch. The location is stunning, although now the sea view in some places is slightly restricted with the addition of outside tables/bar etc on the beach itself, but still a great location. Sat outside with my family for breakfast, service friendly and food very very nice (as per my previous visits) Breakfast cooked freshly and all food & drinks delicious & expertly cooked. Varied menus. A real treat, whether you sit inside or out, when visiting the area. Public pay & display parks are available a short walk away.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The menu has a wide choice of food to pick, the food was delicious and well presented. We came back for coffee and cake another day and this was also excellent.

Nice but the service was a little slow. We only had one drink. A tad pricy.

Called in for a bottle of wine to share on a lovely sunny day. First bottle was Pinot Grigio...completely undrinkable 😒 Returned wine to bar and after lengthy discussion it was replaced by Sauvignon. Only marginally less revolting than the first one. Left half. Don't go here if you want to to drink wine!! Shame, the outside space is lovely and good atmosphere.

Loved this beach bar opposite last year went most days burger pineapple juice but this year unfriendly security woman walkd into my mobility scooter shouted to slow down and day before would not let me in or reverse scooter in sand today told band due to drunk erratic driving deformation of character spoke to owner and manager very polite said lm not band lying security staff posted on ticktock

Great location, right on the waterfront. Lukas & Jacob took great care of us, put the patio heater on. Would recommend visiting.

Beachfront restaurant with nice food, great atmosphere and service. Note menu is very fishy and seafood orientated.

Food fabulous, staff friendly and helpful, setting beautiful. Highly recommend. Have given atmosphere a 4 only due to the loud music from the outside restaurant/bar adjacent. However within 1/2 hr it had stopped.

Dined there early on a Monday evening at the recommendation of a friend who lives in Bournemouth. We had an excellent meal. I had the Breton fish stew to start. Rich tomato sauce with mussels and clams. That was followed by the crab ravioli in a seafood and tomato sauce as a main which was superb. We live in Italy half the year and I have eaten many ravioli and these were right up there in terms of quality and flavour. My fellow diners also enjoyed their choices. We went up the wine list for a pricey but delicious Albariño (Martin Kodax).

Today I went there with my partner for the first time! Wanted to go so many times but we thought it’s out of our price range. Went today and discovered it was the nicest place we have been too in Bournemouth and we’ve lived here for 2 years. Thank you to the chef for cooking and bringing the food to our table,thank you to Ella who made sure we felt happy today! We will definitely come back! ❤️❤️❤️

We had a lovely meal last night at west beach - only docked 1 star as the location is very noisy with a dj area on the beach right next door. The food was delicious and gorgeously presented - lovely wine selection too! We will definitely come back!

Disappointed in the service to be truthful. When you just want a drink and all the nibbles they have to go with it are some quite pricey crisps. Felt like our request was 'a lot of trouble'.

Avoid at all costs. We went today (5/5/24) with a 1 and 3 year old. The waiter (who was there at 2pm) had an attitude from the start and when I politely asked for milk for my 1 year old when we sat down, said yes but it’s going to be a while I’ve got 6 tables first. I said ok that’s fine thinking that was a strange comment and also, that he probably should prioritise the baby (we didn’t want drinks for ourself at that point)… not a rule but very insensitive. We arrived first out of the surrounding tables, they all had their starters and main and we still had no food. They even left (and one of them had an older child). We then asked why ours was late and they were prioritised and they said because they ordered starters as well. We had to leave without eating a bite (even though we paid for the lot) because over an hour later when the food finally came, our toddlers were playing up and ready to run.

We had lunch at West Beach today. We stood around for a while before being greeted and seated despite a number of staff in the immediate front of house area. We were given a choice of table. We placed our order and took advantage of joining the fingers club again. The oysters were beautiful and well presented likewise the Hummus. We both ordered the same main from the special board after confirming the seafood included. The platters arrived one each but one platter was more than enough for two. There was no room on the table do one was taken away and kept warm whilst we ate one together tbh there was no way we could have managed two and when it was brought out it was very dry. When they both arrived we wondered why we were not told it was a sharing platter and the board did not indicate this. We expressed displeasure at this but no resolution was offered. We could not eat a second one so we were informed we could take it home? We accepted to fo this having paid for it. We could not understand why it had not been pointed out at the time of ordering that one was adequate for two px. We concluded that the waiter who took our order was not versed on the special board and how best to advise patrons. This soured the visit somewhat as you can imagine. The platter was surplus and much more than we could eat despite us having good appetites. The waiter who subsequently looked after us after our order was taken was polite courteous and clearly embarrassed about the situation. However the food was great and plentiful, the ambience was mediocre but ok for a lunch time on a Monday. We had to throw the platter away as we still couldn't find room for it later in the evening, and concurred this was wasteful and it could have been avoided.

Excellent food, absolutely amazing. Oysters, surf and turf, all were great tasting and fair portion sizes. Service was good, wine was topped up frequently, staff were helpful with describing the menu and wine options.

Food served fast and all tasted fresh, but was more expensive than Rick Stein’s at Sandbanks, not as good and all served by an unsmiling American fella who’s demeanour suggested he was having a pretty bad day.

This is the second time we have been there in a few weeks and the second time we have been seated so long we had to get up and go ask someone just to order drinks. The servers here are all on island time. Shame as the food is decent but the service is terrible.

Great beach restaurant with a direct view of the sea. We ate very good fish there. We had mussels as a starter, hake and brill as a main course, with vegetables and steak house fries. The portions were sufficient and the dishes were attractively presented on the plate. The service was very friendly. In terms of price, the food was worth every cent. We will definitely eat there again when we are in the area.

We popped in for lunch and had a seafood platter for two. It was absolutely spot on. PLenty of oysters and shrimp, some excellent mussels served with a good sauce too. Really filling and all top notch. THis was out of season - i suspect in season it will be really hectic as it is on the beach!

After being seated we then waited 25 mins and was totally ignored , Got up and left and the manager didn’t even say a word just watched us leave , obviously a hard shift and wanted to get home !!!

Always been good for fish dishes and did not disappoint this time. The fish soup was not quite what I expected however probably my fault for not checking and it was still good.Special of the day - fresh sea bream was excellent. One possible thing to consider on the menus is the relative shortage of vegetarian options- a number of fish dishes also had meat in the sauce/ garnish.

Friendly staff. Reasonably priced set menu with excellently cooked fish and nothing to complain about at all.

Lunch on the beach with great choice of wine. Service was great, real attentive chap. Finished it off with a very good cheese board, I would recommend this for a lunch.

We only stopped for a coffee ☕️ but the service was excellent, they even offered us a jug of water. After that excellent service we will definitely going there again for food next time. With the beautiful view of sea front and a service with a smile is what you wish for nowadays. Keep up the good work.

Went for the Molecular Magic pop up event. Far too many people crammed in and music and acoustics terrible. Very difficult to speak to people and hear what was being said. Had to go to the bar for a drink and still charged 12.5% service?!? How is that acceptable? Molecular food was great but venue etc poor.

Great restaurant, with excellent service. I was part of a large group (around 16 of us), and between us, I think we ordered pretty much every dish on the menu! and the feedback was largely positive. The only dish I think that wasn't that great was the Thai Green Chicken Curry. Yes, I know this is a seafood restaurant, but the Thai Green Curry was bland (not even a tiny bit of chilli) and pretty poor. Apart from that, the food was superb, add to that the super friendly service, and the beachside location, and I would definitely recommend it.

Dined for the 2-4-1 mussels last night, 6 March, Wednesday. Great service, good food and lovely atmosphere. Wines still a little expensive for what these are - overall a lovely experience and will return.

Great atmosphere with friendly, welcoming staff and a magnificent view. We came for breakfast which was delicious and good quality ingredients, and also able to accommodate gluten free. Would 100% recommend and will be returning next time we're in the area.

Westbeach bounces between brilliant and dire. As locals, we want to support it, but it’s impossible when it just doesn’t seem to care. Our food was mediocre at best (tiny portions, long wait, dry fish) and the bill was immense. The awful music blared through the half-empty restaurant and no-one seemed to care about the experience. We really wanted to support a local eatery, but this one is taking the Mickey. Go back to the glory days WB, we miss you.

Just turned up at 17.10 for a drink and was told it was closed. The website states they are open till 11pm and google says 6pm. I suggest they update their hours as I wasted my time travelling here

Have dined here so many times over the years, celebrating events big and small and often taking friends from out of town here for lunches and dinners. Came with 7 family members to celebrate a birthday on a Friday evening in January, and was so disappointed. Disinterested service, terrible harsh lighting with no ambience, and a menu with half of the items not available for a 7.30pm service. I was so disappointed I could have wept. Please pull it back, Westbeach, I know times are hard in hospitality but you need to up your game.

Beautiful views while enjoying coffee and cake or a meal!

We've been here for breakfast many times but this was our first time for lunch, we managed to get a table outside (we had booked but these are allocated on a first come first served basis.) We had to wait a little longer than expected for the food but the wait was worth it - Monkfish Thai Green Curry was great as was the Fish and chips. Well worth a visit!

Delicious food, served in a relaxed and cosy setting. Great selection of fish and shellfish - the fish soup, oysters, lemon sole and mussels were all fantastic. Service was attentive and friendly. Great view of the sea too!

Fantastic meal at WestBeach and an added bonus of free face painting for children (and kids eat free) on the day we visited. Food was phenomenal and really high quality and well cooked. The customer service was also fantastic - we were well looked after.

Disappointing to be refused any breakfast foods at 11.30am Wouldn't make a sandwich or a wrap. Drinks were lovely though. Just didn't think they were prepared to go the extra mile

We had dinner planned at home but after smelling the amazing aromas from the kitchen we were easily turned to eating at WestBeach instead. The menu was full of beautiful seafood options, but as it was steak night we opted for a Fillet Steak each instead. They were both cooked absolutely perfectly - chargrilled on the outside, well rested and pink on the inside. The garlic mushrooms were stand out aswell. Already looking forward to a return visit and would highly recommend!

Lovely restaurant overlooking Bournemouth beach. Although we hadn't pre booked, they made an effort to seat us fairly promptly. Good food and drink selection.

I love this place. Such a pleasure to actually eat seafood that’s worth the money in England lol. Thanks to Manny who is very helpful, what a nice man. We are local and love eating the catch of the day.
