Visited the new restaurant scoops today and was looking forward to a lovely treat. First off the welcome by the gentleman who served us can only be described as he wasn’t bothered about us being there. I ordered a Nutella crepe, on arrival it was placed in a triangle cardboard container. I can only describe it as a thick pancake. I asked the said gentleman if it came with anything as the picture I saw had cream and strawberries. He was quite abrupt in saying well what did you think it came with? And stated they were add ons . The cost of the dessert was £3.79 and on leaving I checked the menu and it should have come with whipped cream. Quite honestly it felt like an inconvenience to him that we were there. I shall not be returning.

Lovely looking beach side cafe which sells Costa coffee which our family love. Went in for coffee and cakes to sit outside and watch the world hi round. Well, what a shock. No cakes at all, no lite snacks at all. All coffees were served in paper cups whether you stayed indoors or not. Come on Costa, your coffee shops are usually brilliant but this one was awful. Won't be going there again. Such a shame as it looked great inside and outside. But I don't want a large coffee in a papery cup on your own premises thank you very much. We normally look out for Costa coffee shops but was very disappointed with this one.

We visited this café on a wet and windy day, glad to take shelter and have a snack lunch. There was only one panini left (which was OK) so I had a cheese and bacon turnover. It was just about edible, being very much overcooked. Time didn't permit asking for a replacement so I risked my teeth. A pity, because I would have given another point for the quick and friendly service.

Went for tea and cake, cost £16 for 4 hot drinks and 3 cakes. 2 of which were mouldy and crusty, the date best by was 6 weeks out of date. Rather than say sorry, the waiter argued with us, took the evidence away and said it wasn't the date on the wrapper. Clearly no customer service and rude to customers. We will not be returning!!!

Visited for lunch on a sunny day. The café is perfectly placed overlooking the beach, but had surprisingly few customers. The menu is fairly limited but despite this had a large number of unavailable items including pizza, steak pasty and bacon! They even ran out of teapots which considering there were only about three families in the café completely astounded me! When we eventually found something on the menu to order, we waited ages for the food, which was average at best when it eventually turned up. There was just one superstar (Lee) working front of house who quite literally had to deal with everything - took the orders and money, served the drinks, cake and ice cream, cleared the tables and served the food - all very politely and patiently - whilst getting no support whatsoever from the kitchen who must have been on a deliberate go slow to turn out so few orders at snail pace!! So well done Lee and I hope you get some decent help soon because this café could be so much more and absolutely has the prime position to be a success in Pendine.

After a few hours exploring Pendine and the beach with my 3 toddlers, my mum, husband and I wanted a drink and something to eat. We rarely carry cash as most places have card machines. We found the cafe very clean and staff helpful, but almost double the prices of other establishments we had visited in Pendine.... And Pendine isn't that big! It does look out over the beach and a beautiful setting, but so do other places that were cheaper and far more convenient

This is a clean and friendly cafe selling good quality food and snacks. It also has an ice cream parlour and is in a perfect location on the beach, although it appears that the premises will be moving approx yards to a brand new shopping complex an the sea front in the very near future. The owners are very friendly and helpful and I wish them well in the new location.

Great place for a light meal and/or home made cakes or desserts. I had a fish finger sandwich which sounds basic but comprised two jumbo fish fingers served in a large white bloomer bread; with side salad and tartare sauce. A lady sitting near me had the lemon cake which she said was superb. Very prominent position which affords lovely views of the beach and coastline. On a nice day there is a balcony with a number of tables. Very friendly staff. The only reason I didn't give it top rating is that they do not serve fresh espresso coffee but rather have one of these press button machines.

Quite honestly I'm completely perplexed at any bad reviews on here about this place. Visited twice whilst on vacation at the parkdene park opposite. On both occasions the cafe was busy but the staff very friendly and the good magnificent.First time had turkey cranberry rolls and welsh cakes plus drinks, then the second time had a Surfers breakfast - 9 items (which was allowed to alter) plus coffee or tea for under £5.50 just unbelievable value!!!! Part breakfast photo taken.Sat inside first time and outside next to beach on second occasion - beautiful spot.Loads of regular / repeat customers came in whilst I was there (which supports they are good), knew this as heard them conversing / arranging follow up meets at same place.Unless you are visiting from a third world country you simply can not say this place is expensive, try living in Oxfordshire, Berkshire or Dorset and see what little you get for your money.Only slight downside is they can't take cards as no phone line connection but based on the food, location and pricing it is easily a 5* cafe.Cam

Another 15 minutes later it came out. But, to add insult to injury, our daughters meal was the last to come out, a good 5 minutes after the other three meals had come. The food was good, tasty, but spoilt by very poor service. Had a coffee each and ordered a scone, but because they were 'smaller than usually' we ended up being given an extra one for free :) coffee was nice and they sorted a hot milk for it too. Would love to go back but a shame we are only down here for the week.

Lovely location on the beach, great coffee and a good selection of meals and snacks, well worth a visit, and even just sitting on the veranda overlooking the beach with a great coffee is a pleasure,

Took the family for lunch at this fantastic cafe while on a camping trip to West Wales. Smart decor, spotlessly clean, overlooks the beach, friendly efficient service, food well presented and extremely good quality. When so many cafes still fail to achieve the very basics in customer service, this gem stands out a mile. Oh, and there's seven mile beach to explore afterwards!

We waited for our order, and watched people who ordered after us, get theirs before us, we asked how long ours would take twice before asking for our money back, and we went elsewhere for lunch.

This cafe is situated at the top of the slipway overlooking Pendine Sands. Well worth a visit and a seat outside on the decking overlooking the beach. The food was well presented and the jacket potato I had was well cooked with fresh salad.

I believe the Thomas Arms were going through a reorganisation when we booked our meal, and it was difficult to contact staff. However, they now have changed their contact system to cover the different dept options, so I'm sure this has been resolved. We were a party of 12, at a time when the pub was very busy with the Christmas light celebrations, but the staff seemed to manage well and the table service was very good. The food was good in general, and the starter options of cockles, and the sticky toffee pudding were outstanding. All the staff were very pleasant and attentive

This was a great spot for lunch! We stopped off on spec and I was pleased to see vegan options. I had the vegan burger which was lovely. My parents had the chicken burger and the gammon, and they were equally pleased with the food, the portions and the service. I also had a vegan crumble tart with custard which was delicious! Overall a very pleasant experience, although prices were a little on the high side.

Stopped off here for lunch with my elderly mum and was pleasantly surprised. Whilst the seating was adequate the staff were very friendly and cleared vacated tables promptly. The drinks and food menu’s had plenty of choice and I decided to have the jacket potato with chicken curry which came with a salad garnish. The portion was great and the chicken curry was delicious…mum had a toasted sandwich which came with a small salad, coleslaw and some crisps. Both very reasonably priced and would not hesitate to recommend if you are looking for a lunch time bite. We will return.
