A beautiful, large café with excellent coffee and food. There is usually seating available. The decor and lighting is relaxing, with an intimate vibe. The high quality of coffee and food options are good for me as a vegetarian. My friends also enjoy meeting there. And the staff work hard to provide a positive experience.

Modern coffee shop, nice decor, and good location. The toastie and bagel were good, coffee was very average, and the pastries stale and mediocre. Professional but frosty service and average prices.

Good atmosphere. There are few issues while I was there. Not many choices in pastry and cakes. Very limited in sandwiches choices. Coffee was little bit sour (Less than cafe Nero) and latte has lots of froth on top (1/3rd of glass-cup). My food was ok look but wasn’t well presented and of course it was quite bland. I have asked for poached egg extra but they couldn’t make it (Just fried egg or scrabble). Girls were nice but aren’t professional for customer service. There are opened for a long time now and shame it’s not a wow experience. Something about £12 for my brunch and that coffee must be nicer!! Will I go there again? I WILL NOT.

Went there for brunch with girls friends to catch up. It’s very clean with a good vibe. Staffs are also friendly and nice. Although the waitress forgot bringing the extra bacon that I ordered with my salmon breakfast…😅 but they immediately made it for me. Before we leave, they even gave each of us almond croissant 🥐 as an apology, which is so kind! We had a great time there!

I had a really strange experience here - ordered and paid for a lemonade (they offer this on the menu stating it’s made with mint and maple syrup). For some reason it took over 30 minutes for me to receive my drink despite the fact that I could see the lemonade jar on the counter and there was lemonade inside of it. My friend (who ordered after me) received his hot drink and hot food very quickly so it wasn’t a case of me having to wait my turn or them being too busy to serve. I had to follow up multiple times and each time the waitresses were dismissive and sort of laughed me off…it was really strange. When I finally received my lemonade they weren’t apologetic. Truly bizarre. Not sure why there was an issue but it’s put me off visiting there again

AVOID this cafe if you need to work. I visited this (almost empty) cafe as I needed to take an important 20-minute work call on my laptop. The waitress/barista stood next to my laptop the entire time, repeatedly interrupting me to insist that I order something. It was very disruptive and unprofessional. While the coffee was good, this is not a place for those needing to work. Look elsewhere if you need to use your laptop.

A very nice cafe with a good atmosphere. There are several tables where laptops cannot be used so that they are not occupied for too long (I couldn't see if they were all the tables in the cafe or just some, but I think all the ones in the front at least), but I spent a while I spent a couple of hours waiting for someone and no one bothered me or rushed me. Do yourself a favor and try the croissant with almond paste, it's spectacular.

I had a wonderful time at a cafe with a friend today. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff made us feel right at home. The coffee was rich and aromatic, while the cookies were perfectly soft on the inside, loaded with chocolate chips. I have been coming here consistently, at least 4 times a week. I've been to many cafes in the neighbourhood, but this is the best one for me. The sandwiches are great for a light meal, and the pasta is especially delicious. There is a separate area where you can use your laptop, the seats are comfortable and it's a great place to spend time. The staff are always smiling and welcoming. One of the staff, Sonal, is always smiling and welcoming every time I visit.

My husband and I love to come for brunch here. They have amazing veggie and vegan options and the coffee is great ☺️

I’ve been coming to this coffee shop for over 3 years and I love it. The quality of the food is amazing and the coffee is very good. I’m so picky with my cappuccinos and the barista’s skills are amazing. The foam is sooo velvety 🤩 The staff are very kind and friendly and always make you feel comfortable. I’ve tried a lot of coffee shops in London and this one is top quality! P.S The music is also really good 💃🏻

This is by far the best cafe in the area. I go regularly for brunch; the staff are very welcoming; the food is excellent and the atmosphere is relaxing. The interior design is akdo very well thought through.

Barista is the best coffee shop in the entire Finchley Road area. The coffee is great, they have the most delicious variety of quality cakes and their omlettes are the best, fresh and lovely. The team is cheerful and upbeat and it’s a joy coming in. I love that it’s mostly run by women! Visually it’s pretty nicely done up to, with good instrumental music. Excellent location, bang opposite Waitrose. Highly recommend it.

When I’m in London visiting my family this is my favourite spot to have an awesome coffee and pastry…. Get one of the filled croissant…. Omg …. The best The other reason is the music they play, if you like your chill out vibes but sundown Ibiza stylee then here’s your spot…. Staff awesome too

Loved this place since day 1. I'm not a coffee person but this is the only place I’m happy to pay for mine. No doubt their coffee and bakery served in great quality and I can see the managers are taking a good care of their interiors too. However, certainly they need to train their staff better. I used to visit here 5 times a week, but I found their staff being super rude that sometimes ruin my days. Although Im not using laptop, even how they deliver food was super annoying. Because of their service, l have been hesitated to visit their shop again as I don’t want to ruin my day by spending my own money. Certainly they need to work on their service.

A nice cosy place, but very anti-computers. They only have a few tables for laptop users to use, and when I came on a Saturday they turned me away because they don't allow computers on weekends. They're a coffee shop, what do they think they're here to do?

I come to this coffee shop often and what brings me here are the friendly and amazing staff. They are so friendly, helpful and welcoming. I just cant recomend this place enough.

Friendly and professional team, very spacious that even when it was busy you would not feel overwhelmed by the crowd. A cosy yet vibing neo-industrial decor, this cafe has designated tables for laptop users, making this the perfect place for parties of any size and needs. They serve a good selection of cakes, sandwiches and pastries. The coffee is really good, I was served a very beautifully made cappuccino, with a very thoughtful latte art. The portion of their beverages are also large, I ordered regular but it is easily equivalent to a large elsewhere.

Average coffee, cake ok, I visit becuase it’s convenient between meetings but would not visit otherwise. Observed staff being very nice to regulars but barely a word to me. Very hostile to anyone even opening a laptop so beware if you plan to visit between meetings as I did. Even for 2 minutes and the staff will be over to tell you off.

Kinda divided about this one. It's a popular place with locals, has a cozy yet stylish vibe and always a positive atmosphere. Having said that, my coffee nearly always is burnt and has a very sour note to it. Girls working behind the counter also seem rushed and impersonal. Food is okay but very standardised what you can get pretty much in each brunch place. I think if girls pay more attention in how they make the coffee (meaning its not rushed++ therefore burnt), this place has a good potential.

Always a treat to come here, the vibe is so upbeat and the food is great! The darker lighting and music set the mood for a nice "chill after work" atmosphere. Really enjoyed this after a night shift. Just wish there were better parking options in the area.

It so good in this day and age to find a family run coffee shop. Barista On The Other Side opposite Waitrose outside Finchley Road station is the place. High end inside décor great coffee, tea, and lots of other fresh drinks. Large range of great fresh food on offer. Smartly dressed staff who are very attentive and ready to help. What also appeals to me is the laptop warriors are separated from those of use who want time away from office and enjoy having a great coffee and great food. Great place for breakfast in front of the tube station. It is very vibrant and always busy. I like to have breakfast here with a big cup of cappuccino.

Hubby had a mozzarella and veggies croissant which he loved and I got avocado on buttered sour dough toast along with some beer. Interesting vibe, friendly staff.

Pret, Costa, Nero, Waitrose welcome laptop users all across the street. Lol. Sad but it is true laptop users who smoke need to puff off, 😆. A very tight restriction on laptop users even if you are learning to knit your first ever scraf 😆🤣😂. However, during lockdown when my friend's and family used it often it was okay, rules changed. Sigh 😕. Pret, Costa, Nero, even Waitrose less than 50 steps away great coffee and food plus laptop friendly. Spoke to owner manager today he offered free coffee so anyone who is upset free coffee available 😉. No don't just joking.

Nice place, limited serving abilities waited for a while to order as they all seem to speaking in another language and ignore us. Head waitress moved us twice for use of specific tables due to us having a meeting where we used our laptops. Apparently you have limited spaces to meet if you use a laptop are we back in the 1970's? So right at the time of starting our food we had to move tables again because we were now not using our laptops. Then she came back and moved us again. Other than that the experience was great! If you are looking for a average place to chill, eat and meet find another place. But if you want a nice atmosphere, average to good food this is the right place.

The best coffee in town. The food is to die for, creatively done and absolutely delicious. The staff are warm and welcoming and you can feel a wonderful atmosphere from the moment you step in. It was three of us and we were all looked after and left very happy. Will definitely go back and HIGHLY recommend this place.

I’ve been all over the world and that’s a first ! Odd rules here, wouldn't recommend. Stopped by on a Sunday with my iPad for some journaling and gaming. They hit me with a "no laptops on Sunday" rule. Felt really awkward about it and left. If it's not a fine dining spot, what's the problem with iPads? Wonder if a notebook would've been okay. 🤣😂 Never coming bk 👎🏻

Barista on the other side is by far the best cafe on the Finchley Road. The coffee has an amazing flavour and the staff really know their stuff as Baristas, it’s my favourite coffee in the area and they use Allpress, which has a full flavour and not watery like in lots of coffee shops. They have delicious food: brunch, toasted ciabattas, cakes and lovely fresh juices. The staff are so sweet and helpful and the owner clearly retains his staff by being lovely as well. He’s often around and is friendly and chatty. I’ve been coming here for over a year and most of the staff seem to be the same team, which is so nice for regulars. Great place, lovely atmosphere, fast Wi-Fi and an outdoor seating area as well. It’s conveniently located opposite Finchley Road Station so we often pick up a coffee on the way to work or before an outing into town on the weekends. I’m a huge fan as you can tell! Pay a visit, you’ll love it too.

Terrible customer service, we sat down and was about to start a meeting and was approached by the waiter who proceeded to inform us that we could not use our laptop which was just for taking notes, we then informed the lady we would only be 45 minutes but she still continued to say we couldn't use it, I've never experienced this type of behaviour from any coffee shop, also the table legs were ridiculously close the seats so I banged my leg on the way in which really hurt, just a terrible establishment and wouldn't recommend. People don't just make reviews in this world, you have to truly impress them or truly mistreat them, sadly this is one of those situations that was truly mistreating, we was not giving an option to move to a laptop table, after being really nice and explaining we would not be long we was basically forced out and felt really uncomfortable, at least be honest in your replies please.

Good coffee and decor but the music is always too loud and they charge an expensive tip now just to bring food to the table!!! 😡 I don’t mind paying more these days with inflation going on as long as prices are made clear, but don’t expect to pay to have pre-prepared food simply brought to my table!

This is a lovely little cafe with amazing food, modern decor, and friendly staff. I came in during my work break on Saturday to spend some time reading and have a late breakfast, the staff were lovely and accommodated my dietary requirements. The food it top notch! The cakes are especially lovely and the toasted sandwiches are filled to the brim! This will be my new weekend spot!

This coffee shop is great for anyone looking to just sit and enjoy a coffee, chat with a friend, etc. But do not come here with a laptop to work! While I understand that many coffee shops are taken over by workers now, Barista’s approach is a bit heavy handed. They have designated three small tables without power outlets for people with laptops, you are not permitted to sit anywhere else and if a table is taken too bad, you have to leave even if the rest of the shop is empty. I saw one guy come in and offer to buy multiple drinks, an entire lunch, etc just to sit and use his laptop- nope, he was turned away. So you have to ask, has Barista lost sight of the point of running a business? Additionally, there is a sign on the designated table to remind you you are only allowed to stay an hour and a half maximum. The WiFi was spotty and kept throwing me off. They’ve really gone out of their way to make it an uncomfortable environment for anyone needing to work. On top of all of this, it seemed to be perfectly acceptable for several kids to sit anywhere they liked with iPad game/video blaring, so I don’t think keeping tech out of the calm-coffee house environment is the goal.

I can see why this cafe is busy, it looks great and has a nice vibe to it, however while the coffee is good the food is average and over priced, and the staff are extremely rude. I should have read the other review first, but as mentioned by others despite the cafe being totally geared up to workers, they are incredibly unaccommodating. The cafe has nothing but remote workers in it, but they seem to only let you work on one cramped communal table. After having lunch and spending good money on food and coffee only then did they tell me I had to move to the communal table. After I explained I chose a table by a wall due to confidentiality they just said on repeat 'middle table'. It wasn't busy and they're more than happy for me to sit in at the table drinking my copy just without the laptop. It makes zero sense and it just creates an uncomfortable vibe as many of the other customers were experiencing the same treatment. I will not be returning along with the many others.

Few things £15 for a savory croissant with the thinnest slice of brie (I should have taken a picture cause it's ridiculous), a slice of cake, and a Chai tea it's a lot Taste was nice but vibe was not it. I came on a week day with my laptop. They said to go at the back of the café they have a space for people with laptop. I needed space to work as I had a client meeting that day. They insisted for me to go on that shared table WHEN THE CAFÉ WAS NOT EVEN CROWDED. So many tables were free. I stayed very nice and didn't complain, but received some side rude eyes from some of the staff, I'm not the only one who had this issue. Moreover, wifi where the laptop table is is not even good. Wifi was working well on other parts of the place.

The other reviews made this seem a lot more of a hostile environment than it was. Flat white was delicious and partner enjoyed his sourdough toastie, and our server was lovely and accomplished. Only complaint was that in my full English breakfast, mushrooms came on the toast underneath everything to my unfortunate surprise. However, this is more a fault of mine, as I assumed they’d be on the side for me to give to my partner, but nonetheless, this put me off my toast a little. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience.

Service was very slow. A 12% tip seems to be automatically included in the bill. Consequently, there doesn’t seem to be any incentive. A ‘regular’ who arrived after us received his meal and drinks long before we did and when I asked a about this it was explained he came in often. So his order was automatically done before ours. I sent my fried egg back as it was undercooked. The egg white was still gelatinous. They took the plate back and re-cooked the egg very crispy rather than starting fresh. I ordered a ginger and lemon herbal tea. But what I got was not tea but hot water with a chunk of lemon and a wedge of ginger floating in it. With the waitress’s apologies, this was removed from the bill.

I have been going three for coffee very often coffee taste nice but I found it they always serve it not hot sometime you have to ask them to reheat it. Today I took my wife there it was a bad experience .the soup that I ordered was just warm Not hot . the chicken burger I had was supposed to be breaded according to the menu but it was not. Very disappointed with the service .this must be my last visit to place .

The atmosphere and music is good. The coffee is expensive but good. Unfortunately the food quality has dropped a lot and it’s became much more expensive. The small portion not a great soup with cheap bread is £8.5. I’ll look for an other lunch option.

This is a great coffee shop near my office. I can get delicious coffee and a variety of other drinks and snacks to go. The baristas are friendly and make excellent coffee. I love their space and that they have so many great selections. I really enjoy the atmosphere here and I often find myself stopping by for a quick coffee break.
