Great service and value and local produce in shop. 8 of us called in for a pre-walk coffee and cake/teacake. Although the place was busy, we were served swiftly and courteously. Definitely will revisit and recommend.

We visited this tea room on recent day out. As we entered a man pushed past us carrying a tray of food, this turned out to be the man in charge. When he came back we asked should we place an order at the counter or was there table service. He told us to sit down but didn't have time to serve us in a very rude manner. We did sit for a while and he was right he didn't serve us so we left. I can understand someone being busy but not to the point of being downright rude ,so unfortunately even if the food had been good, this bad experience outweighed everything else.

We had read good things about the Village Store and Tea Room, so called in for an early lunch and were really pleased to find delicious food and a warm welcome. It’s a wonderful village store and coffee shop with arty things for sale and the owner/person running the place was very engaging. Lovely home-made lentil soup, cheese scones and excellent toasties. We will return to sample the cakes…Don’t just call in if you happen to be passing - go out of your way to visit!

The atmpsphere in the village store is lovely - usually has local people enjoying a chat and coffee as well as visitors to the village. All are made very welcome. The owner goes out of his way to take care of people and be very welcoming. It serves a range of drinks and snacks and stocks basic foods and household goods. It is a very pleasant place to stop when travelling along the A69.

I spend a lot of time around Northumberland these days so I'm always looking out for nice places to get a snack and a cup of coffee. The charming village of Bardon Mill is centred on a pottery making pots of every shape and size: garden figures, planters and chunky ornamentals are for sale. The Village Store and Tearoom is situated right opposite so it makes a good destination for an afternoon out if you're staying nearby. Hexham and Haltwhistle are within easy reach so are Hadrian's Wall, the Roman sites at Vindalanda and Corbridge and the Sill Landscape Discovery Centre. The Bardon Village Store is particularly special as the present owner has turned it round from its former state into a brilliant combination of general shop, tasteful gift shop, mini art gallery (some excellent local views) and tea shop. And believe me, their cheese toasties are the best ever - beautifully cooked and they don't skimp on the good quality cheese. Positively the Prince of Toasties!

There was quite an extensive snack menu with soup, pannis, sandwiches, scones and cakes. I opted for he soup which was really lovely, a spicy curried lentil mix. My mum opted for the toasted cheese and onion sandwich which came with crisps and a side salad and was really nicely presented. We both had fruit teas. Service was really good and the proprietor was very pleasant. This is a really well stocked shop as well with some nice locally made gifts, including pottery, soaps and art work. We stopped on our journey from Newcastle to Scotland, having travelled this route often. On this occasion my husband was caught short and we saw the sign post for Bardon Mill so took the exit to it. We had left Newcastle not having breakfast so had a coffee and shared a toastie. The coffee was great quality... great cappuccino and Americano ... and the toastie was served piping hot - flavoursome cheese and ham; friendly and efficient service. Simple enough food and drink you may say, but believe me... we have had our fair share of rubbish! The store is quaint - used for the locals for groceries but also stocked with gifts and novelties. The 5/5 hygiene rating didn't go unnoticed either and we will definitely be stopping here on our future travels rather than the garden centre near Hexham - which though ok, is not a patch on this wee gem!

The postal address had a Morpeth post town, even though it is close to Amble. Finding it with the aid of a satnav was essential. A lovely sunny day and the field out front was very busy. All sorts were there, a food concession was selling pizza. The beer was varied, but great. Just a pity i was driving, no carry out bright beer is available. Only in cans. Such a shame, would have loved to taken away some of their heavier beer approx 6% ABV Staff were friendly and the interior accommodation was good.
