Dining at Barceloneta Spanish and Mediterranean Tapas Restaurant and Bar was a memorable experience, with the Tosta Con Boquerones, Patatas Bravas, and Garbanzos con Espinaca delivering authentic and bold flavors. The Selva Negra dessert was the perfect indulgence to end the meal on a sweet note. Maria’s service was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. She made our visit truly enjoyable and added a personal touch to the overall experience.

Terrible! Ordered two meals at the same time one arrived the other did not, no explanation! I signed my disapproval to the bar man who sent over a young server who apologised still no explanation! A supervisor then came over and said that one order had gone through but not the other, it was the fault of the WIFI. I cancelled my meal due to my time constraints, I was given my coffee free of charge. The breakfast that was served was good. We won’t be back very disappointed, to be fair we used to visit regularly before ownership change, definitely not what we expected

We visited here recently and we're very disappointed 😞. We moved away from Leicester 14 years ago and when we left in 2011 - this Tapas restaurant was epic! Sadly, this is no longer the case. The dishes are overpriced & a lot are not even Spanish..... if you like true Tapas dishes that are authentic - do NOT go here! Very, very disappointed 😞

After being recommended by many friends, we decided to try out Barceloneta for Tapas and my word we were not disappointed. Every dish was amazing and freshly cooked we will ensure that a return visit is planned with friends.

I'm a vegan and when I booked I asked if there were vegan options for each course, and was told yes! I found that there were a couple of vegan dishes (as well as a huge Paella which I didn't want) Garlic musgrooms, potatos & chick peas between £7 & £8 for a smallish dish (so expensive!). Sorbet to finish - £8.50!! My wife had smoked salmon - 5 very small pieces rolled up £15 Wow! I could have been in any type of restaurant - there was no indication the food we had was Spanish orientated Total cost with 3 average sized glasses of very average wine - £85 Wow! So where were all the vegan options I was promised when I booked - in someone's immagination and a lure to get a customer? VEGANS - Don't go if you don't want to be disappointed. I won't go again that's for sure!

What a lovely little tapas restaurant! Could not fault the food at all and the service from Alex was brilliant. Also had mojitos which were great. We will definitely be back, thank you!

Would defs go back for the dessert - flan & chocolate gateau. Excellent service. Tapas filled us up (bigger serving sizes than we expected).

Lovely food and Spanish style atmosphere. Plenty of vegetarian options. I had the goats cheese balls and aubergine croquettes which were delicious. I was also glad to find a selection of mocktails as I wasn’t drinking that evening.

Celebrated my granddaughter birthday at this wonderful place. Great ambience, music and friendly staff. The quality of food, drinks & service were brilliant. The seafood Paella was the best dish and extremely delicious and tasted fresh. Will definitely visit this lovely place again.

We had a lovely dining experience there. The waiter explained the menu very clearly so that we knew how to pick the right dishes for ourselves, especially in terms of portion. The seafood paella and stuffed mushrooms were served hot and delicious! Leicester is lucky to have this amazing restaurant.

We have been here numerous times and had wonderful food , but tonight , we ordered paella vendoras , potato bravas prawns with chilli & garlic and squid … well paella virtually tasteless , potato bravas the sauce was bland and the squid … battered rings .. not like they were before … what have they done ? Such a shame as I feel cutting corners is not a good idea

Nice place with good music, but the food was disappointing. Maybe 3 of 7 dishes were good. 2 desserts ordered, but poor quality. They served both desserts with solid frozen fruit. Why using garnish that is not edible? The beer was served wrong twice. The price doesn't match the quality.

We visit Barceloneta for our date nights, and always have a fantastic time. We haven't been disappointed by any of the tapas and the Classic Margarita is done very well.

Table of four squeezed in next to the stairs. Service was good. Accept price increases have been necessary to maintain commercial viability but circa £9 for a bowl of heavily soaked fried potatoes and £8.50 for NINE singularly laid out anchovies in vinegar and lemon, on a 20cm plate is frankly taking advantage of customers. Rest of the food was ok but only ok. Nothing memorable. Wouldn't recommend here. Been a customer on and off for over a decade. There are far better places that have better VFM.

We had an exceptional dining experience at Barceloneta The food was absolutely amazing, with a great variety of authentic Spanish dishes that transported me straight back to Spain. Each dish was bursting with flavor, from the perfectly cooked paella to the delicious tapas. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Claudiu the chefs recommendations were spot on, and all the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience. We highly recommend Barceloneta anyone looking to enjoy genuine Spanish cuisine with great service. We will definitely be returning!

One of the best places in Leicester to have authentic Spanish food ! The portion size, the quality of food and the sangria was all worth the money. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and wonderfully accommodated my 18 month old at our table. Food was on time and a member of staff kept checking on us if everything was ok. The ambience and music gave the feel of Spain. It was a lovely experience altogether and will definitely be coming back.

First time in a Tapas restaurant but Mike explained and made great recommendations. When the dishes arrived they were beautifully presented and delicious. We're pescitarian but I have a feeling that whatever you order it will be as delicious as our meal was. Margaritas were fantastic! Kieran was so helpful and friendly, what a delightful place to eat!

I have had several meals at the Barcelona tapas restaurants. The food is excellent, and I can not fault the service. No matter how many times I go Shon always makes it a special evening. His service is absolutely brilliant. Thank you. See you soon.

The food was really nice, some dishes that we really loved were the albóndigas which we ordered a second dish of as they were very tasty, the calamari was perfectly cooked and the seafood and vegetables paellas were good too. My only issue was how expensive the paellas were, but everything else was decently priced. Drinks are good here too, I ordered a passionfruit mojito.

Some lovely dishes to be had here, but some like the cod are nice but very expensive for what you get. Since our last visit the service has improved considerably. Recommend the mushrooms stuffed with spinach and blue cheese, and the Pedro Ximenez ice cream dessert. Really wish they’d bring back the padron peppers, miss those a lot.

I'm from Valencia. I came with some friends and we ordered seafood paella to share. It was edible, but it had too much paprika, which can be seen at first by the intense reddish color of the rice; it was also overcooked. As for the amount of seafood, acceptable for the price. The bravas are more like some Canarian potatoes with mojo picón but they were good anyway. The churros were without a doubt the most delicious. If you are a foreigner, you will eat to your heart's content, if you are Spanish looking for food from your homeland, it will help you get rid of the itch a little.

Hands down this is still the best Tapas in leicestershire. Very good cocktails too! Excellent service, although usually a little on the chilly side for us. That said, the manager did turn down the air con for us when we asked.

Pleasantly surprised I went to visit my cousin who's studying in Leicester, I was extremely surprised at the quality of food in restaurant. My wife's Spanish so I know a little about Spanish cuisine, the food was super authentic. The crocequettes were incredible. The only difference I could find is gambas pil pil doesn't have tomatoe in spain, but we ordered gambas in garlic olive and chilli. So of the names don't match up but I think it's because the chefs south american, so things maybe different there. The front of house was attentive enough but not too attentive , which was just right. I belive his name was shaun, he looked from an indian background. If management see this give this man a raise or a healthy tip, amazing chap! Price wise compared to London was incredible value, its hard finding tapas that's responsibly priced in the UK, but this place successfully achieved this. My only gripe is some of the dishes should come with bread. We spent £14 on bread alone, which was a bit silly , some maybe if the management could include this with some of the dishes that would be great.

Busy tapas restaurant. Tables are quite crammed in but not uncomfortable. Food choices offer something for everyone. Portions are sufficient to allow a group to order different dishes to sample. Service is efficient and pleasant. Drinks are a bit pricey. Booking is important, particularly at weekends. Worth a try.

We dined at Barceloneta and the taps was absolutely excellent. We were served by a wonderful young lady named Jacey, who was incredibly attentive and looked after us brilliantly. Would highly recommend this restaurant for both the food and the service!

We used to be regulars but after the pandemic, we've had a few rather disappointing experiences at this place which led us to decide not to comeback. 2,5 years later decided to give it a go for our anniversary dinner, and we're incredibly pleased with our experience ❤️ this place means a lot to us because we met here and used to celebrate every year's anniversary here, so having this place back to what it used to be, was the best anniversary present 😍 Thank you and do keep up with great work and staff who know how to make proper cocktails
