Bar Pintxos in Preston

Great tapas at Pintxos this evening. Authentic cooking with a good wine list and surprisingly good post-prandial brandy selection. Thanks to Michael for excellent service.

Great service at this relaxed restaurant. A friendly greeting, some good food and drink suggestions by the bar manager and the young lady who took our order. All the food from the kitchen was high quality and the atmosphere was lovely. A really excellent experience.

Me and my husband love tapas and have been meaning to try Bar Pintxos for ages. I've read loads of reviews and they mentioned octopus and papas arrugavas. I got really excited but when I checked their online menu neither of those were on it. I decided to send them a message and ask if they do serve those dishes. The person I chatted to was very helpful and told me they can do those dishes for us if we request them in the special request box when booking a table online. We were over the moon as we both love octopus. As promised we were served octopus and papas arrugavas amongst other delicious tapas that we ordered from the menu. Every single dish was beautiful. The ox cheek melts in the mouth and the Gilda is a fantastic pickle explosion. As for the octopus- compliments to the chef. Can't thank them enough for preparing it for us. It was simply amazing. Better than the one we had in the Canary Isles. The burnt Basque cheesecake was delightful as it was the Estrella del Porno cocktail that I had. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Everyone was smiling and ready to help. Our Portuguese waitress and the bar manager Michael were both lovely. Michael is an example of what every bar manager should be. Helpful, knowledgeable, and with great people skills. It's so rare to have such an excellent dining experience in Preston but Bar Pintxos has it all. Great atmosphere, delicious food and fantastic staff. It's definitely our favourite place in Preston now. Keep up the good work guys.

We just love this restaurant, the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. The food is creative and absolutely delicious. The owner/chef always comes and chats with us which is genuinely a nice touch. We enjoyed the shrimp & porcini croquettes, which was new on the menu. But the best dish we had was the Ox cheek, which simply melted in the mouth. The basque cheesecake with sherry is one of our favourites and it didn’t disappoint on this occasion.

Superb tapas, great service. Did not expect to find this on a day trip to Preston! Highly recommended.

Celebrated a family birthday here between xmas and NY. Our 4th visit. Food and service was excellent as usual and nice atmosphere even though early doors. Favourites included all 3 croquetas, patatas bravas, and basque cheesecake. Will be back. Keep up the good work.

Firstly,I need to refer to reviews that have mentioned "small dishes" - Tapas are supposed to be snacks/appetisers and I find it confusing that anyone going eat at a tapas restaurant is under any other impression. Its never going to be a 'stuff-your-face' 3 course meal. With that in mind, if that's what you want, maybe this type of place isn't for you. We went inbetween Christmas and New Year and took my husbands parents as a Christmas treat. We had 3 lots of nibbles, bread/oil,pork scratchings and olives - all more than enough between 4 of us and by the way, the bread was outstanding. We then ordered 8 or 9 tapas dishes between us - the chorizo in particular was delicious. We also had a jug of sangria and a couple of Basque Cheesecakes with sherry. Every bit of food/drink was eaten and drunk and none of us were left wanting more, all appetites satisfied. Staff were professional,informative,friendly and a credit to their employers. Thank you for making us so welcome. Can't recommend highly enough, whether its just for a drink or food too. Some have commented that Bar Pintxos is expensive, but in my humble opinion, you get what you pay for and everything is very clearly set out in the menu, enabling you to choose whether to stay or go. Stay and give it a go.

Both me and my partner absolutely love this gem of a restaurant. We had already ate prior to coming into the centre but couldn't resist calling in for a few pintxos and cocktails, both delicious as always. The staff are so welcoming and helpful, I highly recommend visiting and can't wait to return with friends and family very soon.

Just poor and expensive Poor service, very small plates, all served separately. Drinks came after the first plate, bread and oil was good, chicken and bacon, by far the worst, warmed up and tasteless I’ll give it a miss

Called in for a quick bite to eat and a cocktail whilst out Christmas shopping, the ‘Estrella del Porno’ (a Spanish twist on a pornstar martini made with creamy Licor 43 Horchata and white chocolate 😍) was that good I had to order another! By far the best cocktail I have ever tasted and the crayfish and anchovy pintxos are delicious!🦞 the staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough for me! A real gem in Preston city centre, Muchísimas gracias Pintxos!

Welcoming friendly & informative hosts, with excellent choice of authentic pinxtos & tapas & beverages. Highlights pollo & pancetta & for dessert vanilla ice cream with Pedro soaked sultanas.

Excellent food, really good atmosphere, great service. Couldn't have asked for more. The food was absolutely beautiful, It was like being in Spain, apart from the weather. The wine was 10/10, I had to ask where they got it from so I could get a few bottles for myself.

We used to enjoy it here and loved trying the different dishes but this time I found the portions to be too small for the price…..The meat ‘platter’ was completely not what I expected in terms of the what it was. Paid about £80 for a couple of drinks each and some dishes and then went somewhere else for proper main. I used this place as an Expensive starter :-). Other reviews are similar; I’ll probably give it another shot if the reviews change (based on the service I’ve had in the past) but I’m out for now. Good luck
