disgustingly rude staff who love to bootlick rather than be kind or helpful. absolutely terrible service and terrible atmosphere. avoid if you are neurodivergent especially as it is not a safe or welcoming space.

Had a bottomless brunch, the food was amazing, unlimited lovely cocktails, atmosphere fab and as for the service all I can say is unbelievable friendly staff particularly Katie who could not do enough for us! Highly recommend!

Sometimes they do great deals for students on burgers and pizzas

Not many places with better value and some decent quality food to match. Great vibes and a brilliant place to spend time with your mates. The student discount makes it well worth the trip and being the student bar you can always guarantee a lively time.

Good prices for drinks and food, great atmosphere with pool tables, air hockey, football table, and events nights. I recommend for students.

Decent prices, friendly staff, can take a bit to be served but just have patience and you'll be fine, the place was busy when I attended so it's to be expected. The food is nice, and is in close proximity to the tram line.

Good cheap food and nice drinks

Katie was a real gem at the bottomless brunch! She nailed it with her service and kept the drinks flowing. Food was lovely…. Katie rocked it!

A propensity for overly loud music on poor speakers, and a lack of direction on whether it wants to be a student bar, a karaoke bar, a sports bar, or just a chill working spot. Otherwise typical prices and decent decor. EDIT: The quality of food has gone severely downhill with new ownership, and the prices have gone up. Really not much left to like.

Popped in as it was on my sons graduation day, and I've heard so much about it, Nice beer great burgers pool tables in ok condition considering what has probably beer spilt and pucked on them. Staff were very friendly and competent.

Nipped into bar one after my end of year uni law ball. It is a student bar. I would expect cheaper prices for a student bar, but it is very spacious and has a good outdoor area

Excellent brilliant food to die for for

Monday 5th December, me and my friend wanted to order the meatless deal they had on, so my friend got the Vegan Bar One burger and I got the UN-Brielievable vegetarian burger, asking for it in the plant based deal to which they confirmed. The food comes out, and after my first bite I notice that mine is real chicken confirmed by the people at my table (including one meat eater) and staff who confirmed they had got it wrong. I didnt complain much as they wouldn't have done it on purpose and I got a refund but I was very very upset. I haven't eaten meat for 7 years and it was heartbreaking, I had to go to the toilet to throw up because I felt so sick. Absolutely ruined my night. They didn't apologise or offer any more compensation other than bringing the real food out (that I felt too sick to eat) and giving the original money back. Vegans and vegetarians be careful when eating here

The bar is nice, there are 3 pool tables as well and some other games too. The food is good too.

I asked for a burguer with chips. As my order was taking too long and all my friend had already eaten, I asked the staff about my burguer. They told me the kitchen made a mistake and that they were still not preparing my food. As it was taking too long, I asked if I could have my chips before the burguer. Conclusion: they gave me completely uncooked chips and with half the amount of my friends. Also, the burguer was not very tasty. I'm very dissapointed.

It was good. Tried the grilled chicken burger. Can I make a suggestion though? Can you guys pleeaase start adding a bit of spice or have a side option when we're ordering to add spices, as being someone who LOVES spices I found the burger to be bland. And maybe have some discount weekly offers for uni students too?

In the Raynor with a buffet for a do. £10 per head buffet extremely disappointing. Rest OK but pretty basic

Staff member just skipped over us even though we had been waiting the queue for ages just serve her friends that just turned up and jumped straight to the front. Very rude, Staff were hungover too, just overall poor performance.

Kiki and Tom were so friendly they made me laugh and were really good bar staff

Alienating non-students on a Saturday night. Wanted to come in for a quick drink after a gig at The Octagon but was told by the bouncers (acting ten men) that it was students only. Only to let three lads in with CP goggle and Stone Island jackets on just before us 🤷‍♂️ the place looked dead and the amount of people you could have had in after events at Octagon etc. Your loss!

To put it in a British manner – not exceptional, but perfectly adequate. The go-to pub for uni students, with reasonable prices, a central location, and more than enough seating space, both indoors and outdoors. It would get five stars if it were a bit cozier and offered a wider variety of beers.

Really nice vibes, but later in the night the students make for quite a rowdy time. Cheap drinks though, and a great atmosphere. Has pool tables and a garden which is fantastic if the weather is nice.

Bar one is the only location I've ever had a tampon land in my drink! I love that place, for everything that happens there, but the pool tables aren't level... That's why only 4 stars.

Big spacious venue, good meeting place

Generally this place is very good, however, on this occasion they don’t seem to realise Sheffield United are playing Manchester United and have some lame Rugby Union on the big screen. The whole reason we came here was to watch the game.

Nice atmosphere, good prices, great place to watch football with your mates or play a bit of pool. It's a safe place too, never had any trouble there whatsoever.

Went for the bogof burgers during exam period, they're amazingly priced anyway (£6-7) so the offer makes them unbeatable. Burger itself was really nice and served with a choice of fries or curly fries. Most drinks are well priced and mostly best places like Francis Newton up the road.

Awesome place, sharing platter of nachos and a pint of beer for £6. The burgers and food in general are fantastic and at close to £2 a pint you can't ask for better prices. Good atmosphere too especially if you go for dinner before a university event. All in all one of my fave places to go.

Food and drink is of a good standard; the drinks are relatively cheap averaging at about £4/5 a pint. Good facilities and friendly staff.

Terrible burger...the beef is the lowest quality ever and the chicken just a bit better. I didn't enjoy my food as it tasted worse that microwave burger from supermarket.

Great SU, great drinks selection

One of my favourite places in the world! Have loved their drinks and food for the last 3 years, but this year the drinks are more expensive and the burgers (known for being massive with loads of chips and coleslaw) have stayed the same price, but you get half the chips and have to pay extra for slaw! Real shame because I used to go all the time :( Great night out though!!

Staff are friendly, but service time is horrific. Do not be tempted by the cheap prices unless you are prepared to wait an hour and a half for a burger.

Good atmosphere and generally good food, however their recent Spanish chorizo burger was a flop for me, a huge downgrade on their normally excellent burgers. 💩

Loved the darts, wish there was more of a student vibe, a pool table or two wouldn't go amiss. Shame that dogs were welcome... All in all 5/5, would frequent again.

Highly impressed with the Beer Festival

It was an okay vibe in there, maybe I just went on a quiet day. My friend suggested we go for ice-cream and I got the peanut butter dream, hoping the peanut butter would be mixed in I was excited but it was huge globs of really dry peanut butter so my mouth felt welded together

Felt so insulted by the staff last night. Asked if they had any vegan wine. The guy serving went and not so discreetly discussed it with his colleagues and they all gave each other this funny look. Since bar one were so set on advertising that they do vegan food I don't understand why you wouldn't have one bottle of vegan wine. I would of been absolutely fine if the guy had just sorry no but looking at me like I was from space is so unnecessary.

Excellent food, great atmosphere and even better staff. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating it's a great place just to chill out after work or uni. The speedy service is a huge plus point, it can be 5 deep bar queue and you still get served really quickly it's great, cannot recommend enough!

I would highly recommend trying the curly fries. I've been to a lot of places but no place serves curly fries like they do. The place has a good atmosphere, a good crowd, great events and outs situated in a prime location.

The only reason this place isn't a 5* for me is the price. Despite being a student bar, the drinks and food are way overpriced (£4 for a pint £9 for a main and side). Although, you do get a massive portion of food which for me normally ends up being shared with friends. The food here tastes great too which normally would explain the price however a student bar doesn't really scream high class so it's quite out of place.
