This is part of the Palace Hotel and we visited both the bar and Brasserie/Restaurant during our stay as part of a tour group. The bar was generally very good with a pleasant ambiance, and overlooking the river. We visited the Brasserie/Restaurant for breakfasts, a booked soup/sandwich lunch and dinner. The breakfasts are mainly buffet style, with a good range of choices, although on the morning of a planned early departure, the number of staff on duty were clearly unable to meet the service requirements. A similar situation occurred with the lunch, where some of our group assisted in serving the soup! The standard of the sandwiches was also poor. Dinner was served from a limited menu, which did give sufficient choice. Also, on all visits to the Brasserie/Restaurant it did not appear straightforward to accommodate dietary requirements, which had been advised in advance. Our experience was below what we expected from this standard of establishment.

Vi var lige ankommet til hotellet, og var heldige at få det sidste bord. Der var travlt, men betjeningen var venligt og forsøgte at betjene os hurtigt. Vi fik god vejledning til lokale øl. Maden var rigtig god.

We had pre-booked a table for 3 for our evening meal. On arrival we went to the restaurant but were told there weren't any tables and advised to go to the bar area where we could get food. When we got there we were shown to a table and given a menu. The waitress then came back over and said there was a mistake and that we should be in the restaurant and took us through. We actually ended up with a nice window table looking over the river. The waiter just came across a little strange and all of the staff looked very young. Having ordered soup starters it arrived quickly and was tasty, but the dishes were plonked onto the table and I had my little butter pack actually thrown across the table by the waitress to me for my bread roll. Again I'm not too precious about things like this but just thought it felt really weird for somewhere charging a decent penny. When we placed our order we were also told that if we wanted a desert we had to order it then - we didnt know how much food we would get in our mains or how hungry we would be afterwards so again just seemed an odd thing that you had to place your desert order at the start of the meal. Al in all the actual food was ok but everything else was just a bit of a mess so left with no option but to give it a poor review I'm afraid, certainly not what I'd expect for the money paid. Oh and when I went to pay the bill the card machine in the restaurant didnt work due to poor wifi so I was escorted to reception to pay lol

Disappointed as initial staff member did not even know Restaurant existed & then restaurant did not have booking, but fitted us in to the lovely window table over looking river. Food nothing to shout about & staff really need more training, shames as location is excellent

Estábamos agotados y queríamos algo rápido del hotel pero aún así bueno. La comida fue rápida pero un poco decepcionante. Deberíamos haber explorado un poco más y probablemente podríamos haber encontrado algo mejor.

Recommend using this restaurant if staying in Inverness. I usually stay in the hotel and dine here but the restaurant would make passers by most welcome. Nice relaxed informal surrounding.

Avoid this place . Poorly cooked frozen fish and staff who see you as sn inconvenience. They add a 10% service charge and offer rubbish service.

We all had Sunday lunch (£22), service was good and waitress was friendly. However the Roast dinner was lukewarm, the beef was far from tender and the Yorkshire pud was clearly reheated and very greasy. The bar wasn’t able to provide many of the beers/lagers on tap. Altogether a very disappointing visit. We were here last year and I still remember The Venison I had. Clearly new management/chef. Definitely give it a miss.

No food on offer other than crisps, ice cream and a meagre offering of cake, shocked as we were there for a 1pm show and had travelled over an hour thinking we would be fine for lunch at the theatre. Staff were fine, no hint of getting things done in a timely fashion and not much interaction with customers. Decor is depressing, such a big space makes it cold and echoey. Just no atmosphere whatsoever. Very disappointed and won't be back.
