Bar and Lounge at Mercure Telford Madeley Court Hotel in Telford and Wrekin

I was pleasantly surprised to find a late notice outside the gate saying, Open to the Public, for the lake side patio and bar, We had considered stopping at the hotel as our daughter is looking for a wedding venue and we knew that this site was a consideration, so it was nice to have a quick look first. (bit of a back door look with out all the flannel) We found the bar where a chap was pouring drinks, we walked up, he looked said nothing and walked away? confused we turned to find customers sitting in the bar so I asked if he was the barman, The reply surprised up from a oddly gentleman, "Yes he comes and goes, the service leaves a lot to be desired". we waited a few minutes when a lady walked behind the bar to get a bottle, I asked if we could get a drink the reply was "yes but you'll have to wait". at which she walked off as well? looking around the bar we could see that the area was a mess and the code area was nothing short of disgusting, We left and I think your fully aware of what we will be telling our daughter!!

Thought I’d would leave a review as i came in for a drink at the bar being my first time in yesterday had such a lovely warm welcoming with such a beautiful smile and and so polite from your staff Natalia will definitely be coming again soon 😊😊😊 xxx

Seeing as the weather was so nice I decided to take a trip to this hotel and have a few quiet drinks, the barmaid Natalie was that friendly and polite that I’d book rooms here just from my first impression. I used to always book at great hay but I think I’ll be coming here more often instead, 5 star customer service, thank you.

My wife and I, visited the terrace bar at Madely court Hotel. The transformation is amazing, compared to a previous time spent there. it previously looked tired and dirty, Like the back seat of some Telford Taxis I have had the misfortune of traveling in. The terrace and out side bar has a new look with lighting, parasols, white gravel, and now has a very large water jet fountain that was also lit up that evening. We sat looking out over the lake sipping our drinks. This is an oasis in Telford, we will be returning regularly to this bar.

What a lovely hotel so nice seeing the place having a face lift, only this is the bartender Dom and barmaid Sophie is so rude makes you feel unwelcome, but all the rest of the staff are friendly, What a sweet young woman Natalie and a smiley Adam the bartender so glad you have some good eggs working for you. Good tip- get rid of the rude people and have all friendly staff willing todo there job, then you will have happy costumes Many thanks mark...

Where to start! I’ve never known such a shambles in my life. I went to an organised event, Waiters in the buff?? There was one teenager that left after half hour, never waited on us as advertised, there were poor kids left to run this event on their own, general manager was no where to be seen, then after the poor kids were torn apart by disgruntled guests he decided to come in & shout at the staff! One poor girl was crying her eyes out whilst she was waiting on tables. There was 110 people in the mill & one young lad behind the bar, he was working his hardest but then fuelled the fire as he had to shut the “only” bar to restock it, mid event! The toilets were filthy, the hotel was shabby & seen better days! The night would have been a complete write off had the food not have been the highlight by the one & only chef that was in the kitchen, cooking for 110 people. I take my hat off to him & the young kids working there! General management really should hang their head in shame. If this event had of been free, I would still have demanded a refund. From the amount of people complaining tonight, I’m sure I’ll be the first of many!
