Banana Wharf in Eastleigh

We had a family lunch, not having been here before, and absolutely loved everything about this bright, cheerful, clean and welcoming place, with amazing views over the Marina. Seriously clever, innovative menu and wine list, all the dishes that we chose, some shared, were delicious, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented, well done the kitchen team. Special mention for our two lovely helpers, Sharon and Sage, for being such happy and fun company, not fazed at all by our constant questions! Thank you so much, we will definitely come back again soon. Sending all best wishes and thanks again for making our lunch such a memorable experience. Chris, Medina and Antonia. :-)

Nice menu but service a bit too mediocre for their prices. Good location however.

Had a great meal here. Staff were friendly. The environment was comfortable. The view was nautical. Will be going back for sure.

Need to get some staff, instead of ignoring customers that just want some coffee. Gave up waiting in the end. We won't ever will be back. Walked all the way back to Warsash where we could get service Gave this place a bad review before, last year when a major football tournament was the main news. However just visited & it has now gone very high in my personal opinion. We only intended to have a Coffee here, but I decided to have the ' Bacon sandwich ' & was blown away my the look & amount of bacon ( originally inside the sandwich, as my wife couldn't resist one slice). The bacon tasted great , along with the coffee & service we received, it's worth a better score than my previous review.

Visited here 25/10/24 , I can not recommend banana wharf hamble enough , I had a little trouble booking online but a promptly answered call during opening hours and Hannah made the booking for us excellent manor and very helpful , as much as Hannah’s service was faultless it was just a sign of things to come the staff on arrival very friendly and attentive without being overly so , as for the food WOW I can not rave about the food enough genuinely the best meal we’ve had this year flavour and presentation was nothing short of perfect. I just want to thank the whole team for an excellent experience for start to end , we will be back 🍻

Not been for a while, but still as good as ever on all fronts. Booked for 3:30 on Father's day with family. I had Sea Bream with veg in a lovely Thai sauce. Biggest and nicest fish I have had in a long time. Great Father's day! Went again for my birthday. Disappointing that there were no specials, but what we had was excellent, with good friendly service. Not sure why they ask if a special occasion when booking? It was my birthday but no mention of it when arriving.

food was amazing, super fresh and excellent quality. we've been a couple times, the first time was excellent. everything was spot on. we were very disappointed in the service this time around. The atmosphere was very loud, quite a few larger tables so understandable but could hardly hear each other over the table. The service was diabolical. it took 5-10 minutes to even have someone come up to order our drinks, we were offered water at arrival on the table but that never appeared (not the end of the world). we only ordered mains so we're happily left. the waitress didn't hear us ask for the bill which is absolutely fine but we were then blanked for 25 minutes, no one checked on us again. several members of staff walked past and avoided eye contact. every time we looked to find a staff member, no one was on the floor but rather in the kitchen eating. (understand you get hungry but when there is no presence in the floor there is a time and place) it then took another 10-15 minutes after receiving the bill to have someone give us the card machine. safe to say we were very disappointed and it has put us off coming back again

More dairy free foods please. Who knew sausages contain dairy! But great waitress/service who did her upmost to ensure we were catered for.

Nice staff. We both cleared our plates. One was three shell fish items in languini. Mine was Caesars salad. All excellent. Asked for my wife,'s Campari to be adjusted..graciously done. As it is within a marina down a private road car park charge 2.20 but free for 1 hour

We had a good meal here - great atmosphere and views, friendly staff, lots of tasty sounding options on the menu. The kids menu was good and they enjoyed the colouring pencils / sheets. Pizzas were nice but a bit like a higher quality supermarket oven pizza or a takeaway - tasted fine and all eaten up, but I perhaps expected more of a wood fired sourdough quality given the price and setting... Getting a better pizza oven to match the rest of the setup would be my main suggestion. Starters and sides were all very good though. We'd definitely go back. Would go back

The food and the service at Banana Wharf is great! We are lucky enough to moor our boat at Hamble Marina and so it’s our ‘local’ but it really is a great place to be. Ryan has looked after us well this summer! Thank you!

They have gluten free but infact it's not the manager was very nice on phone but explained the kitchin is 2 small to be shure of safe to eat she said they don't use a separate or cleaned worked area when prepping. The waiters don't even understand its vital and ask if u have allergic to food even when you tell them gluten free .you don't understand the concept of gluten free or food allergic reaction. I would not recommend this place for people with any food intolerance On the pluss side it's a nice place

Below average. Unfortunately that’s the only way to describe Banana Wharf Hamble. We booked for an anniversary celebration dinner however were left very disappointed. The service was very slow, having ordered and then waiting we were told that there had been a mistake and the kitchen hadn’t received our order so we were left waiting again. The food eventually arrived, my pizza was very dry and tasteless, probably the worst pizza I’ve EVER had. The staff were not friendly nor attentive throughout the meal. We were sat many times waiting for staff to clear plates etc, meanwhile they could be seen having a chat and ignoring us. To top it off, the staff were rude and unprofessional, taking empty glasses without saying a word and throwing the bill on the table and walking off without saying anything. We weren’t even asked how our meal was until I asked for the 10% optional service charge (which is added by default to all tables) to be removed. When I explained why I did not wish to pay the extra 10%, there was not even an apology. It’s a shame such I’ve felt the need to leave a poor review, in over 10 years of writing reviews they have almost all been 5* and I have never felt the need to ask for a service charge to be removed. I would not recommend this place and will never eat here again

Been multiple times and every time we had great time. Despite not booking table in advance, due to unexpected stop, coming back from Universal Marina on the rib, we got lucky and sat in the bar area. Place was really busy, but it was worth to wait. Food was delicious, one of the party said his Big Boy burger was the best he had very long time. My whole plaice with muscles from daily specials was the most delicious dish I have had very, very long time. Deserve 5*. Truly beautiful. I can't wait to be back again.

Great ambience and food in a great setting with a view of the Marina. Wide ranging of delicious dishes on the menu which look and taste amazing.

Lovely venue and good service, but value for money has gone out of the window. I had the prawn starter, which had 5 prawns for £12.50. My main chicken fajitas had 4 wraps, but perhaps half a chicken breast or less, bulked out with onions for £21. That’s half a chicken breast and 5 prawns for £32.50! Even the wine at £11 a glass tasted a bit cheap. Obviously the accountants are in charge here!

Stunning food, staff are amazing they kept us topped up with drinks all night especially as it was so busy. Came for a birthday meal out with large group and the whole night was faultless.

One of the most consistent places to eat in Hamble, always good when other places can be very hit and miss. Not cheap but good.

Food was amazing, pollo pesto pasta AMAZING!!! staff were faultless, super busy but all happy and go out their way to help some of our fussier friends in the group. will definitely be coming back soon and recommending to friends .

Can’t recommend here enough. The food is amazing, atmosphere is amazing. The service is great, especially by Emily. When it’s busy it can obviously impact wait times but the staff do amazing to keep up and keep everyone happy. 10/10.

We visit here every other week for lunch or dinner. Never had anything less than an incredible meal! Fantastic and friendly staff that can’t do enough for you from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. 9 times out of 10 a doggy bag gets taken away by one of us due to the quantities! Very much looking forward to our next visit, and the one after that, and so on..!

We phoned to book and got told don’t worry just come on down… so we did and luckily they sat us. Upon arrival we got asked who told us that which we couldn’t answer ? They proceeded to push the blame onto one particular staff member which I didn’t think was fair and if I’m honest made me a bit uncomfortable. Food was good and service was okay. It is run by a younger team who did their best however I don’t need to know what staff member messed it up, that is a behind the scenes conversation. I’ve been coming here for years and that’s probably the worst overall experience I’ve had, won’t be hurrying back any time soon.

We went for lunch. The service was slow, the food excellent and it’s a great location. Very expensive though £13 for a large wine.

Spontaneous visit with the Wife and 2 children. From the first interaction asking for a table (we didn’t book) to how quick and pleasant the service was. The food was amazing, we were all impressed even to the point our daughter said it was her new favourite place. A big thank you to Emily, our server Molly and all the staff at Banana Wharf Hamble.

Had a family visit on Friday. Very good food, accommodating my very fussy tastes with a smile. Very good service. Just a little expensive.

It was disappointing to be told by bar staff that there is no 25% discount during happy hour on cocktails though on the website it certainly states 25% off ALL DRINKS. No prices anywhere on beer or cider, I don’t think we even got that discount on beer or cider. Two of those cost over £13. Staff at no point asked if we were happy with the meal and if we would like anything else.

Popped in here with family and had a lovely meal. Being able to sit at the table undercover, it was raining, and still watch all the boats was very relaxing. We ordered cheese and bacon burger, nduja macaroni cheese and a banana wharf salad. The service was extremely polite and efficient. Great selection of beers, ales, ciders and wines. I bet its very popular in the evenings. The food was lovely and hot and tasted very fresh. The only criticism I could make is its a bit expensive but I guess your paying for the location as well. Its a large menu so plenty to choose from. Ill definitely come here again.

We asked a lady if we could order some food but she had told us that we couldn’t order past 6 pm as she left we watched someone get served. We asked another worker if we can order and told us that we could . DONT GO HERE!

Food was amazing! Such good quality. One of our party said the burger was the best they'd ever had! Add that to great company and views over the boats and river, it was a wonderful experience. It did take 15mins to wait for a table even at 2.30pm, so next time we'll be sure to book. Highly recommend.

The star of the menu is defo the rib & wing combo, however, my daughter had the pasta dish, it swam in oil and made her poorly and my sons burger was underwhelming. The staff ((for most)) are friendly, but, they were either more interested with their family that was also eating or eating themselves, 1 waitress started to clear our plates then all I can say must have forgotten us coz out of 6 of us only 2 was cleared, no idea if they offer a dessert menu as we were left so long that we just went to bar to pay.

Service was friendly and efficient, the food was delicious and the side of sour dough bread was amazing. Would not hesitate to return.

I just went for a ride in a motor boat with my brother who is a member of the club their. To me it was another great day out. Nice scenery and setup there esp with the breakfast cafe. Park is secure and plenty of spaces. Good bar with good service.

Booked for wife for birthday meal and was so let down by food nachos were terrible really greasy then followed by over cooked fries and a soggy burger , previous experience here food was beautiful , management were lovely and refunded our starter and wifes main meal and offered a on the house prosecco but my wife declined as felt so bad complaining

Very disappointed after visiting here at the weekend. We motored our boat over from Southsea to Hamble, booked a short term mooring in the MDL marina and decided to have a late lunch here. On arrival they were fairly busy but not full, we decided to wait in the main restaurant until a table became available in the conservatory style room on the front. It was ready within 5 minutes or so and we were re seated. The same gentleman who appeared to be a manager or front of house? Came and took our orders, we ordered our food at the same time. Pretty easy order - a chicken burger and a cheeseburger. Our drinks came quite quickly. We finished our drinks. Took our 18 month old for a walk outside as he was getting impatient. Read a newspaper. Changed babies nappy. Watched the restaurant nearly empty, and several new tables seated and their food come out. Many of which were roast dinners which we hadn’t been given the menu for or offered when we were seated. Over an hour later a lady came to ask if we’d like to order anything? The guy hadn’t put our food order through and had gone home! Terrific. We had a hungry baby, and a 2 hour journey back and it was now nearly 5 o clock on a Sunday. The reason I have given 2 stars and not less is because a lady who appeared to be a manger came out and tried to make amends. She was very apologetic and tried to offer us something quick off the menu or something to take away. And the food looked good. Which is even more annoying. By this point we were hungry, tired and we were going to sit there like lemons trying to entertain the baby or put any money their way. So we left. We went to The Bugle in the end, an 8 minute walk away and had the best roast dinner I have had since I can remember. I wish this had gone better as we are down the coast a lot due to our association with many businesses on the south coast and keeping our boat there.

Was super excited for my first trip here with the girls. I asked for my burger with no sauce - came out with sauce and the serve looked confused when I mentioned it when they put it in front of me (even though when ordering the food was relayed back to us twice). Instead of saying “we will sort this out” they asked “is that ok?” Which it wasn’t but I had waited a while and everyone else was eating. This meant I could only eat half of my food. The burger came with bacon - and it was rock solid it wouldn’t even cut and couldn’t even bite into it (it was the same for my friend who order the same thing). I could tap on it and it made a noise it was that overdone and solid. One great thing is the accept blue light!! We received the bill and the money taken off for the discount was then added as an optional service charge - not brilliant and not stupid enough to not realise this. When we told the waiter we would not be paying the Optional service charge they were accommodating to this - however we then saw them go to the bar/till and could see them complaining to other servers about this. Not exactly brilliant customer service! Was very excited as heard good things but was left disappointed in the end.

I am a frequent flyer here and find they consistently deliver great food and service.

Extremely dog friendly, beautiful location on the marina and the staff are lovely and welcoming. Maddie is an absolute joy and a credit to the team, she made our lunch very enjoyable and she creates a lovely atmosphere.

Came here for breakfast on mother's day morning, overall the food was good however this was let down by the front of house staff. Ordered drinks and were left waiting for some time before the wait was acknowledged, during which time no one asked to take our food order. Two of our breakfast orders were muddled up, so we had to move the food around on the plates at the table. We weren't offered any more drinks at any point, and at least one member of our party left thirsty. It felt like it was bar service only and we were an inconvenience for stopping staff if they went past, even though it is table service. Staff were constantly moving/scraping chairs around on the floor, which made it difficult to hold a conversation as it was so loud, and such a shame in such a tranquil location. Once we were finished, a member of our party had to go looking for a staff member for the bill, to find several sat around a table. Unfortunately we paid the bill in a rush and didn't realise there was a service charge added on automatically, otherwise we certainly would have taken this off. Maybe a case of staff knowing they would get tipped without giving any customer service? Worth noting that it was not especially busy either. Disappointed to have picked here for a family outing, will go elsewhere in future.

This is a very attractive and pleasant bar and restaurant which is situated right next to the main marina in Hamble. As such it affords great views of the River Hamble and its busy water traffic which provides a great background for your drinking and dining experience.

Nice little place good view and food

Good breakfast and dinner service. The breakfast is affordable and they offer unlimited tea and coffee which is nice. Staff are very attentive and helpful. The dinner menu is slightly more expensive but still fantastic. Large portions and good quality food.

My partner & I went in today for a look around with a view to eating there in the future. The staff were very welcoming and didn't mind us looking around at all. I look forward to eating there soon.

Always has been and always is a great place for beers after sailing. Its also a great place to watch all the yachts trying to park on a Sunday afternoon, especially fun when it's a spring tide.....

Overlooking the marina on the outskirts of Southampton City Centre new the cruise terminals at Ocean Quay lays a vibrant eatery which has the best fajita's I have eaten, where the staff are helpful and happy to serve you and supply a great atmosphere throughout your experience

Visited with my wife back in September on our way back home after a holiday. A beautiful terrace area with fantastic views of the harbour. It was a very busy afternoon but our server was still very upbeat and funny. Becks I believe was her name. The front desk girl was also very professional in arranging us to be seated although it was very busy, but I did not get her name unfortunately. Me and my wife shared the mussels and they were perfect. Would return if in the area again.

Had a really nice lunch here. Food was excellent, really big portions, and very good quality, very tasty. Staff were brilliant and very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I have only scored low on atmosphere as it was quite a quiet time when we visited. Great place to eat 👍

We booked this restaurant for a work event catering for 35 people. We opted for the Xmas menu and pre-ordered all of our food. We were sat in the glass pergola which was nice and toasty on arrival. Admittedly it is quite hard to get the temperature right in there and between guests we were going from too warm to too cool, but thats the joys of indoor/outdoor dining. It didn't impact our experience though. Now we all know, how difficult it can be catering for large groups but we were all really impressed with the quality, quantity and presentation of the meals. It was tasty, the service was great and kept the drinks flowing, apple and cranberry sauces were added to the tables pre-main service. Lots of positive comments from all attendees and no one had a bad meal. Thanks for hosting us!
