The branch in West Hampstead is the best . The staff were amazing, especially the head waiter/ manager. All were very attentive and came frequently to check if everything was ok. We also paid for alcoholic drinks and the guy bought it to our attention and gave us desert for the difference in price, totally honest and friendly staff there. The food quality and portion was so much better too. Will definitely visit there again.

This little place packs a punch. The food is brilliant, lovely flavours. Excellent service from the staff Krishna and Eryk. Highly recommend the restaurant. It is one of our favourites in West Hampstead.

He has a great service and is very Inattentive will be coming back here food was nice gave me good options on what to choose to eat and was giggling with us when I had my silly moments! I came here on a Sunday afternoon on my own because I like a little me time :) the food and service was amazing. It always hits the spot, I had an amazing laksa curry and it was delicious this is my spot for quite early Sunday afternoon me time with good food .

Not worth it! (Correct as Aug '25) Went in for dinner, midweek. I had booked this place for my girlfriend's birthday dinner, as she has been there with friends and liked it. Upon our arrival, they could not find the reservation or a reserved table, and stuck us on a small table in the corner, as they were expecting to be busy later. No birthday message, treat, or well wishes. Food and drink were ok, but took some time even though they were not busy. Prices were fair. Service was very poor, they paid little attention to us, and forgot small requests. The bill took longer to arrive than the food! And then after all this, 'they have the nerve' to add, not 10 but, 12.5% Service Charge to the bill. Which they most certainly didn't deserve. Not going again until there is a change of staff and management.

Amazing experience, i want to say a massive thank you to Eryk who made mine and my friends experience the best. He was very kind, attentive and provided the best customer service I have experienced in a long time, we will definitely be returning, hopefully when Eryk will be working.

Food was ok but nothing special. The pancakes for the dry duck were stuck together and the 'popular' pad Thai was meh. The service was worse than the food. They couldn't remember anything. They forgot to get us a high chair, forgot to bring us table water after asking twice, forgot to put toilet paper in the cubicle and forgot to ask if everything was ok. When I tried to let the server know at the end he just cancelled the service change and didn't actually want to listen to what I had to say so they could maybe improve for other customers.Won't be going back.

We have been coming here for many many months regularly and always have a wonderful time. Food is tasty, Kainat and John have taken wonderful care of us. Worth coming for an easy going local evening :)

Stopped in here with partner and the restaurant its self is filthy! From dirty tiles, cobwebs in chandeliers, wobbly and dirty tables and questionable cups and cutlery. The service was nice and fast. The food itself was mediocre with small portions, if I was eating out quickly again I’d rather spend the money on better options very near by. Very disappointing, they need to have a clean and refurb

Do not order chicken as it has a reputation of being dodgy. Had food poisoning for the second time ordering the chicken satay. Terrible quality, poisonous food, expensive price, small portions, absolute scam of a restaurant

I ordered from this restaurant, and the name of the order was the only thing that was correct. All the items were wrong. It’s expensive, and you don’t get what you order. Avoid this place!

This was my first time eating in person. I order from here all the time because I love the pad Thai. The servers were so nice! I dined alone and my server Arlette was so welcoming and fun! 10/10 food and lovely staff!

I ordered a chicken laksa and they just sent me a bowl of noodles and herbs, with no laksa. It was towards the end of the evening and they clearly couldn’t be bothered to reject the order, they just delivered the incomplete order because they’re clearly run out of the laksa.

Banana tree is one of my regular go to spots for lunch. I love everything on the menu. That said this is an update from a less nice review I left before because from time to time they get things wrong like chewy noodles etc but most of the time it's good and when it's good it's great.

Really friendly staff & great service. Food came out nice and quickly, everything was delicious & a decent range of vegetarian options. I’d highly recommend the vegan satay skewers!

New owners. Combo deal has gone and everything is too spicy, even the dishes that would traditionally have no spice (heat) at all.

We visited bananatree the other day and it was as perfect as it was, the food and service was outstanding, we loved the way Kainat treated and looked after us. We will visit again for sure. My friends visited for the first time and they just loved it. The new food options were also really good.

Such a great experience here. We love to pop in for a Katsu curry and the best Gyoza and Spring rolls I’ve ever head. They also offer 2 for 1 cocktails that can’t be missed! Melissa was so lovely!

Been here a few times and almost every time I've been here there was an issue with service. Even when the place is almost empty the service is not good. One time they charged us for something we didn't order. Last time they forgot to bring us drinks that we paid for. And my dish arrived with ingredients missing. They don't even apologise they just shrug or worse argue with you (in a calm manner but still). I don't know why I keep giving them the benefit of the doubt, it seems systematic. Shame but won't be returning.

First time eating at a Banana Tree restaurant. They seemed very short staffed. The person taking our order didn’t guide us at all so we ended up with not enough starters for each person in our party. We asked for more but they never materialised. We asked for duck and pancakes and I specified there should be enough for each person. Instead a second duck dish with rice was brought to the table. Portion sizes were very small and tables weren’t cleared quickly enough. Food came out piecemeal one by one. Overall a very poor experience and will not revisit.
