Delicious, tasty food 😋 Very reasonable prices. One of our favorite places to eat in Plymouth. They also do takeaway.

Stepped in and this place already stands out with lovely eye-catching decor. Felt very inviting. Sat down and was given some complimentary lentil soup which was very tasty and set the meal up well. My order was taken promptly and I ended up ordering a lamb shawarma with chili and garlic sauce. It came reasonably quick and looked excellent. The shawarma was packed with very flavour meat veg and sauces and was absolutely demolished. I spotted they also had mixed baklava which I could tell as soon as I tried it that it was freshly made and packed with flavour. Price wise it was incredibly reasonable with the shawarma only being £5.90. Would definitely come here again and would recommend to any friends looking to try authentic shawarma in the area.

Absolutely fantastic good, prices and service. Lovely to be able to get healthy good cooked food for the same price as a takeaway. Will definitely be back

We have visited twice now and on both occasions loved it. Really lovely Middle Eastern/Kurdish cafe with a very meat based menu. I am a vegetarian and there is only one thing on the menu I can eat - falafel wrap but it is lovely and there are sides such as hummus which is massive and salad. The flat breads are excellent and you can buy them to takeout for 50p! My husband had kofta and my son chicken, both loved their meals. They also include a soup to start included in the price. The staff are lovely and friendly . You also are served really quickly even though all food is cooked to order. Will definitely be back

Great Delicious Authentic Kurdish Food.

Plymouth has plenty of flea ridden sub-par kebab, pizza, and chicken shops, but too many serve uninspired, overpriced food—grey slop that sometimes tastes like day-old leftovers, paired with browning, flavorless salad. Im looking at you "super kebab pizza burger" - what kind f-ing name is that? Bamo is a different story entirely. This authentic Kurdish gem delivers incredible shawarma—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. If you’re tired of the usual overpriced mediocrity and want REAL Middle Eastern cuisine, Bamo is the place to go. Eat-in and get there early for shawarma!

The food was excellent and the server was friendly and happy to explain the menu. Portions are generous and prices very reasonable. Atmosphere was quite quiet when I was there, but I didn't mind that.

The Lamb Quzi is perfectly cooked, melt in the mouth delicious. The price is very, very reasonable and the service is fast and friendly.

I tried Bamo restaurant for the first time today via Deliveroo as my friend placed order for our lunch at work and oh my! How delicious was my wrap 😋 highly recommend will definitely come over for a seated meal next time. Fresh, delicious and generous portion.

Always so pleased by every trip to Bamo. The staff are so sweet and friendly. And they seem to always give a complimentary soup when you order. And, of course, the food is delicious. Highly recommend!!

It's clear that this is a great family run restaurant where staff are proud to be a part of. The best middle eastern food I've tried in ages. Rice is not sticky, meat was tender and juicy with a great hint of real fire. The staff is absolutely lovely and polite. Prices are absolutely fabulous for outstanding quality of food. I will be coming back

Great food at expected prices. The service was fantastic too. The atmosphere was ok, however could do with some modernisation. All in all it’s worth visiting here.

This is my fav restaurant in Plymouth when I have stop over with work, nice menu and good value. The service is quick and the young guy is very attentive and asked how was the food. Defo highly recommended Kurdiah food.

The delightful, exquisite food paired with exceptional customer service from the manager and staff, along with the beautiful decor, set the perfect ambiance. Opting for the sharing platter for 2, we enjoyed a generous amount of delectable dishes, perfectly complemented by delicious kebab I absolutely recommend everyone to dine here and savor not only the delicious food but also the exceptional hospitality we experienced!

Genuinely one of the best shwarma and kofta wraps i’ve ever had. Bamo welcome you with fresh soup on entry, which comes for free with any purchase. The food is very moderately priced and the portions perfect. One of the best meals out i’ve had in a long time I could not recommend more.

Best Kurdish restaurant and got the best food‼️

Was taken here by family as said it was a place to sample excellent Kurdish food…they weren’t wrong. Street appeal is not the best so it would be easy to walk on by but please don’t.. welcome amazing & given free small bowl of soup (red lentil) while we pursued the menu. Lots of dishes of various prices to suit everyone’s budget. I ordered the lamb & chicken skewers. It came with some bread & small salad ( £21), and it was delicious.. and very filling. No fat on the meat, & salad fresh. All 4 of us really enjoyed our food

Took my sister who isn't very adventurous with food. She loved it so much she said she would take her husband and son there. Only gave it 4 stars for service as we did wait a bit longer for our mains as there was a lot of takeaway service, that seemed to get priority. Other than that lovely meal reasonably priced.

They serve you lentil soup before the meal, the portion is great and taste was amazing. The only downside was that the rice was a bit dry. My friend who went there together told me that the rice was not dry last time, so I believe that it was just bad luck. Apart from that everything was great. Nice atmosphere and kind staffs. I will visit there again! I would recommend to use market hall car park nearby, it took 3-4 min walking from there.

To be honest, they have a nice and delioues food comparssion to other eastern resturants.

Friendly staff in a relaxed environment. The portions are generous and the flavours are really great. Service is quick so you can pop in during a lunch break or take your time and enjoy the buzz of the place with people coming and going. Will definitely be going again!

I pop into Bamo whenever I'm in town. It is authentic, delicious and consistently excellent. I highly recommend a visit - their shwarma in homemade bread at lunch is excellent and very reasonably priced. One of the hidden gems of Plymouth.

Food was OK. The soup, chicken shish, lamb shish and bread was delicious. Kofte wasn’t very good. Prices were very reasonable. This could have been a 5 star review. However, the lady who served us was very very rude. I wouldn’t visit again just for that.

Have been visiting regularly since they first opened, first drawn in by the incredible smell as you walk past. Bamo offers consistently beautiful food and service, the likes of which is hard to match in Plymouth, sit in or take-away there's a range of authentic and tasty meals and snacks that will leave you wanting more, your first visit will not be your last I guarantee.

First time eating here. One word 'Divine'. I ordered the mix kebab, this was not just any high street kebab it was so good. Authentic cooked food, lovely ambience. We were made to feel very welcome, as soon as we sat down we were given a bowl oh house soup, I am not a soup man but this converted me. So yes, 5 stars and more If I could. Also very reasonable prices too.

My favourite food establishment anywhere. We travel over fairly regularly from Cornwall to visit and it is always tip top. Extremely good value, the tastiest food served quickly and efficiently. For two of us to eat amazing food for around £30-35 is really.... well amazing. I would recommend the Quzi, and definitely the kofta. If getting a takeaway the wraps are great value. I simply cannot fault Bamo, it is truly awesome!

Very poor service and poor staff. I ordered naan over the call and told the staff to make it small and soft. Even they noted it but they didn’t make it according to the instructions. This was happening 3rd time, and when I ask them to correct the issue, they didn’t listened to me and ask me if you want to take or not. Not recommended. They need to change the whole staff, very arrogant people are working in there.

Delicious food at reasonable prices. The food is spicy but not too hot and I had a complementary soup before my yummy shawarma biryani on in house made naan and beans. I also had some baklava for desert. Will definitely be coming back to try more dishes!

We visit regularly, the food is excellent and cooked on open BBQ so you can see the chefs, can't get fresher than that.

This is our go to for lunch. Sharma wraps are so good I've never steered away from them. Free bowl of soup within a couple of minutes is always a winner. Staff friendly. Atmos average, but Ive had probably 109 wraps over 2 years, never had a bad one. We love bammos!

Beautiful & cosy interior setup. Ground + first floor seating and quick service. Staff is kind and welcoming too. Upon entering, you get lentil soup on the house which is delicious and warm. Their grilled chicken kebabs with plain, buttered rice is delicious. Their lamb quzi is really good too.

As regular visitors to the South West, we are always looking for different places to eat. Needless to say we have eaten in many places varying in quality and price. The food here is unreal! When you go into Bamo you are greeted with a bowl of lentil soup.... and it was excellent.... over a couple of days we tried, the potatoes, Shawarma, bean soup, Tepsi, Tabula, Hummus, tea and so forth. The naan bread is the best I have had. This is solid cooking and when we return it will be the first place we will eat at. Real food!

I love this place. Excellent hospitality and great food at a reasonable price. You need to get cash out beforehand as they don't take card currently, but it's well worth the extra step. You literally get free delicious soup the minute you walk in!

Looking for somewhere to eat in Plymouth that wasn't pub grub or 'something and chips'. We stumbled across this place and, not being very conversant with middle eastern cuisine, we decided to give it a go. The food was excellent. Beautifully seasoned and subtly spiced. Will certainly visit again next time we're in Plymouth

Very fresh food, soup starter a lovely touch with nain meal. I had lamb and chicken that was super fresh and perfectly cooked. Sat downstairs but realised additional seating also available upstairs. Lady taking orders super friendly and efficient, side orders of cucumber in yoghurt and humus also ordered. Food a very reasonable price

Enjoyed an amazing tasting falafel wrap

i came here after reading the positive reviews and the fact it was halal, the staff was friendly on my visit, the restaurant was semi busy for a weekday evening, the setup was nice, located in Plymouth city centre which i have to say looks very run down and dirty the food itself made me sick the same night i came down with food poisoning, i was stuck in plymouth with a bad case of food posisoing after ordering the mixed shish with biryani rice.

I love a bit of Bamo when I'm in town shopping. The bowl of soup you get before you order is awsome on a cold day to keep you going until your food arrives.
