Still sat here, rarely write reviews but that was THE tastiest curry I've had in a long long time! Service a little slow but not annoyingly so. Meal from start to finish was fresh and mouthwateringly scrumptious 😋

Fantastic food. Lovely staff. Very busy and good atmosphere. Found it by accident and very pleased we did. Had bel puri and paneer thali. Perfect and reasonably priced.

The atmosphere was great but the food fell short. My second time here & the food did not taste good nor full of flavour. The momos were empty, the samosas too thick, the lamb curry was not edible & not full of flavour. I’m really sorry & don’t want to downplay the effort the chefs and staff put in, but it simply wasn’t good. Not worth the money.

Genuinely the best curry I’ve ever had

I visited this Indian restaurant with high expectations due to its hype, but unfortunately, the food fell short. The dishes lacked the authentic flavors I was anticipating, and overall, the taste was disappointingly bland. The restaurant's reputation seems overblown compared to the actual dining experience.

It takes courage to dare to be different in a market as crowded as that of Indian resturants. And yet this unpretentious eatery in Sheffield's Broomhill distract has prospered by doing exactly that. Sure, you'll find the obligatory onion bhaji, but even this concession to the mainstream is served in a singular way. We tucked into their glorious deep-fried tofu, tasty small bites coated in breadcrumbs, intruiging lotus fries, a throughly well-executed tarka dall and the Vada Pav. Ah yes, the Vada Pav. This is effectively BK's signature dish made to a traditionl Mumbai recipe. It's a kind of spicy meatless hamburger but is an essential item on the list of all lovers of good indian food. At under£48 to include two glasses of Chardonnay and three lagers, it was a bargain. We left well satisfied and resolved to come again.

Food was amazing and this is one of the restaurants that hasn't tweaked the recipes too much from the originals. In other words, Indian dishes tastes authentic. Service was good and decent seating arrangements. Will definitely visit again and recommend.

Very quiet on a midweek night so lacked atmosphere but the food was great! Sadly they were out of the dumpling pudding option.

Delicious food, well presented and very flavoursome.

So much better than your run-of-the-mill British Indian restaurant. The street food vibe feels so authentic and every dish was delicious. To share between two we had small plates of prawns, paneer, fish, dal, dumplings and roti. Everything was so fresh, flavourful and piping hot. The mango lassi was delightful. Lots of choice for veggies/vegans. Friendly, warm atmosphere, staff were very helpful and we were able to take home what we couldn’t finish. Would love to return.

We had ordered Paneer thali via uber eats, paneer curry was disappointing and thali had aloo vada instead of raita. Only good thing in thali was rice and dal. Very bad experience not at all worth money charged.

We ordered a takeaway lamb rogan josh and the amritsari chole, their recommended vegetarian dish. The sauce for both these dishes looked and tasted exactly the same except for a few bits of dry lamb in one dish and a few chickpeas in the other. Lots of sauce and not much substance. It was very expensive for what it was. Very Disappointing!!

Had the Goan Fish Curry here last night. Excellent food and service. Will be back here again for sure on my next visit to Sheffield.

The only Indian in Broomhill now. Cash only for take aways. The menu marks vegan dishes and there is a reasonable choice. The tofu starter was unique and very enjoyable. I was disappointed with the dal tadka, I found it lacking in substance and flavour.

The best Indian restaurant I have been to. Even my parents enjoyed the food. Will be back soon for sure.

We ordered Bambukat as a takeaway on Just eat. Extremely disappointing service as they left out a portion of rice and then implied we were lying when we called them back regarding this, and would not replace or refund. Instead they stated “we check all our orders and make sure everything is correct”. Clearly you don’t check all you orders, and have now lost our future custom.

Ordered a takeaway from here. However, there was an item missing. I called to ask about it, and was told that there couldn't possibly be anything missing as they check every order! Well you didn't check this one did you!

The food here is different to you "standard" curry house, and what a welcome surprise it is. Delightfully different dishes with hints of traditional flavours, mixed with new styles, spices and novelty. My only criticism is everything has a decent dose of chilli, and so, while delicious, is on the hot side. Will definately return!

This is our Indian restaurant of choice in Sheffield. The food is well cooked, well spiced and the Thali option is a particular favourite. The service is always cheerful, friendly and informative.

Such a great experience having dinner. The food and service was excellent, with a nice relaxed atmosphere. We ordered the Chicken 65, a Prawn Thali, a Chicken curry (can't remember which one), with a pilau rice & garlic naan to share. We left absolutely stuffed and very happy.

Had been thinking of ordering from here for quite sometime, the menu seemed nice. Got food delivered, packaged well. Authentic Indian food. The chole bhature was really good, good portions as well. The shahi paneer in the thali was the star, just like back home in India. The momos were nice but without the accompanying chutney lost it’s appeal. Would like to try something else from here again.

Amazing food that was very tasty for good value. I had the Thali and it was superb. I asked foe it to be spicy and the spice was amazing, but didn't drown out any of the flavours. I also had chicken tikka it was marinated and the flavour was soaked in.

Nicely cooked indian street food - the thalis are particularly good. The one thing preventing 5 stars is they stopped the lunchtime deals so costs a bit more than previously.

Must visit restaurant for desi food, Went with my friends. The food was delicious. Thanks to Chef, service was mind blowing. The waitress was cool and her suggestions to order food 🥘 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻. The restaurant was full & I personally got impressed with the way she handled the whole restaurant. Once again thanks to the whole team & the Lady.

It was nice meal in the afternoon of Sunday to eat there. Quiet but nice. You can park the car at parking above of Morrison near by. Food was tasty and fresh. Next time we gonna try more things.

Being an Indian and loving Indian street food I really ensured that I had low expectations from the place. But even with my low expectations I was appalled at the food when they served it. I ordered pani puri, bhel puri and momos. The pani puri, if you could call it that had LITERALLY one tiny piece of potato in each puri and we got 7 tiny puris. Even at the worst shop in India you could expect a better filling of chickpeas, potato and onions. The pani served with it was just blended mint and water. The bhel puri had a sour flavour which was the only thing that registered. We got 5 tiny momos which were clearly frozen and tasted horrible. I have had better frozen momos and dumplings from the supermarkets than this. The worst part was it was quite obvious that the manager was aware that the food is not what one gets in India. He did not bother to check if the food was okay. I saw many British People in the shop and I feel really terrible knowing that they would be misled to think they were being served Indian food when in reality they are just being cheated out of their money. Overall the food was abysmal and the portions were unacceptable and it was not worth a single cent. The only good thing I would say is that the waitress was a really sweet person who was the only person who cared about customer service. Avoid at all costs the place has sticky floors and yucky food.

The best Indian restaurant in Sheffield so far. Had a lovely experience every time I visited and they never fail to please me with the food. The staff are very kind, polite and welcoming. I strongly recommend everyone to try Bambukat for the best Indian food experience.

Sweet Jesus. Hella salty! Deliriously thirsty this morning as a result. Had the Bambukat chicken and Goan fish. Popadoms, smashed to smithereens, like Chef had put his fist through em. You guys really shrimped on the like pickle too. Realistically a stamp size, why ration that spicy goodness? - it’s delicious. Flipping expensive too! £40 for a takeaway. Two curries, popadom dust, teaspoon of pickles, rice and bread. Not worth it folks.

First time here and won't be the last, Tried the Thali and was fantastic really pleasant lovely staff would highly recommend.

We love this little Indian street food restaurant the flavours are so different and always great food and speedy service. Today was no exception The reason for dropping a star today was because our timbale trays were cold so we’re our dinner plates so the food went cold very quickly. The restaurant was cold also so just marred our visit today. Surely when the young lady put our plates down she would have know they were freezing cold? Shame 1st time I’ve ever had a problem here. Definitely still be back but next time I will make sure the plates are hot

Honestly very disappointed with the food at Bambukat. Its a restaurant I'd been waiting to visit for a long time and had read good reviews so had high expectations. The service was good and both waitresses were very friendly. However, the quality of the food was not worth the money at all. The Jingha which we all had to start must have been straight out a freezer and chucked into a fryer. Very little flavour. The main was quite average.

Went for lunch. Good choice of dishes and lunchtime deals - 3 for 2 on small plates; free rice and naan with main curries. The one thing preventing me giving 5 stars is that I like my poppadoms a bit larger.

Just been to our favourite Indian Restaurant, what a shame they now don't do a curry sauce to go with your Biryani. If you want a sauce you have to order a main curry? The only sauce they serve is Raita for your Biryani. Not good at all

Just left restaurant, my partner had a paneer thali unfortunately it was cold he did tell the waitress twice. No apology she said she would tell the kitchen. No one said sorry or offered any composition. My meal was lovely. We Will not be back again.

I ordered a thali. The meal was luke warm apart from the potatoes which were cold. I mentioned it twice to the staff but nothing was done to rectify it and a discount wasn't offered as compensation either. I will not be returning.

Indian street food & something very different. Staff are very attentive & efficient. Food tastes ABSOLUTELY superb... but portion sizes are quite small. If you're a big eater, you may be left feeling hungry afterwards! Nevertheless, a great experience. 😊👍

Went here to celebrate a family birthday and thought we would try somewhere we have not been to before. We booked ahead and arrived on time though we did have to wait about 15minsfor our table to be vacated. Good choice of street food available including meat dishes. We selected a choice of starters all of which were tasty and a chicken, lamb and fish curry for mains. Though the dishes were not too hot we could have had a little more spice. The chilli and garlic naans were delicately thin and light which is great as they do not serve naans this good in other restaurants. The plus point and nice touch is that they offer 10% discount on certain weekday’s for NHS staff. Service was slower but young lady was doing her best on her own and was polite and attentive. Food overall was pretty good.

We order chicken 65 from deliveroo but it was not good and quality of chicken was very low might be cooked before and frozen. No help was provided from the staff was well when ringed to enquire about the same. Worst experience overall.

The classic situation…the place is empty, I ordered an hour ago…was told it would be 5 minutes on arrival…now 22 minutes have passed and still I wait!

I would definitely suggest this place for an authentic Indian street food experience. I have tried their pani puri, chicken biryani, Naan and paneer masala all of which were absolutely delicious. A lovely place with very nice interiors, friendly staff and reasonable pricing. Worth a try!!

Ordered chicken 65, naans and roadside dal taska. We had no expectation on this restaurant as this was our first visit to Sheffield and not heard of this restaurant before. To our surprise it was very good. Our kids enjoyed chicken 65. It was spicy and tasty. We loved the food though it was ordered and delivered online. Definitely recommended.

Incredibly tasty food, lovely staff, very reasonable prices considering the quality of the food. We popped in late night on a Sunday not long before the kitchen closed, half expecting to be turned away (we wouldn’t usually do this and were sure to be out before closing time), and wouldn’t have been offended if they did, but I’m glad they didn’t because this was the best curry we’ve had for a while. We shared a lamb rogan josh, kadahi chicken, pilau rice and cheesy naan and would enthusiastically recommend all of it. Generous portions of the curries with plenty of meat and sauce and the naans were fresh and tasty without being stodgy, the perfect curry. Absolutely delicious and if we ever find ourselves in the area again we will definitely be returning. Thanks!

A fantastic meal, really worth a visit

Big fan of the street food scene. Missed out on our last few visits to Sheffield for various reasons but finished off a pub crawl on Good Friday at this lovely relaxed cafe. A couple of gin and tonics with 3 small dishes and a naan was a good end to a long day out. ( also excellent pappadums to start.) Loved the chana and the keema. The chicken dish was also great. Usually end up in Zara in Crookes but happy to finish here. Well worth a visit.

We have ordered takeaways three times from Bambukat and it is honestly the very best we’ve ever had. Not a single dud dish. A huge variety of flavours and interesting, novel small plates. This place beats Dishoom on authenticity and quality and is an absolute gem in Sheffield. Lotus fry and Delhi aloo tikki chaat stand out dishes but all delicious.

Visited for the first time today. The food was absolutely excellent. Genuine Indian cooking. Can't wait to go back again.

Not a massive menu which I prefer. We ordered 4 small plates and a thali between 2 of us. The lotus root fry was amazing and the fish curry on the thali was possibly the best fish curry I have had. Definitely a place I will be going back to time and time again.

(Ordered from deliveroo) Tofu masaledaar was really good but the rest of the meal was, at best, average for a premium price. Veg biryani was just plain white rice with a few veg for £9.50. Maybe I just caught them at a bad time, but very disappointing take-away.

It's all about the small plates! Beautiful Indian street food. I totally recommend you work your way through the small plates menu, beautiful flavours, fresh, delicious, good quality food, made with love. Out of this world. Will come again.

This place is really nice, can't believe I'd never been! Vegan options are great. I tried the bhaji, thali and lotus root all of them were great 👌🏻 definitely recommend

Interesting menu and quick delivery. We were a bit disappointed with stingyness on the meat however. Both our curries had 5-6 pieces of meat in each one. It seemed mostly sauce.

My experience is limited to take aways. Food is delicious. Have tried lamb biriyani and chicken biriyani with raita and curry sauce. The biriyani is very good. The taste/flavour of raita varies each time and the curry sauce is very tasty. Cash only for takeaways. Parking not available on site.

Truly excellent food. We went as a group of 8 and all enjoyed our different starters and mains. The chicken 65 was fantastic, nice and spicy. I really would recommend going here as it's just different to your normal Indian restaurant (in a good way).

Me and 9 friends visited bambu kat tonight and had an amazing experience! tasty food, brilliant service and lovely environment to catch up with friends! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone eating authentic and tasty Indian cuisine.
