First the good. Taste wise the food is amazing, very little ghee which I hate as it's often overused., flavours sublime. The guy serving us was completely overwhelmed because he was serving, I counted 18 diners. Doing drinks, serving food, taking orders clearing tables all by himself which was quite frankly ridiculous with that many customers, I felt sorry for him and it was to the detriment of the overall experience. Which was a shame. The other thing I just didn't understand was our main had six huge king prawns, very generous and absolutely delicious. But a naan bread cost £6 and was just three tiny slices nowhere near enough for two of us like we were told. Which resulted in us ;eaving lots of sauce that we'd have moped up with more naan. Just seemed odd to be stingy with flour but generous with expensive king prawns. Would I recommend this restaurant. Absolutely but please get someone to help this poor guy. We had a table next to us that was uncleared when we arrived and still uncleared when we left. More staff would provide a service reflective of the fine dining experience it could be

After having helped an ambulance crew move a collapsed person on the street, I needed to wash my hands. As this establishment was the closest place open, I went in and explained the situation to be told that "we don't let people downstairs". I thought I'd misheard at first, the lack of humanity was so staggering. Shame on you for having this blanket policy that you don't seem to be interested in budging on for even emergencies, and shame on the jobsworth who enforced this.

I wanted to express my appreciation for the delicious Chicken Dam Biryani which i had from your restaurant. I must share a small concern. I noticed that the quantity of chicken pieces in the biryani was quite limited, especially considering the price of the dish. While the taste was delightful, the lack of an adequate amount of chicken was a bit disappointing. I understand that maintaining quality and balancing costs can be challenging, but I believe it's essential to offer a proportionate amount of ingredients to ensure customer satisfaction. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed the overall experience of dining at your restaurant, and I hope you take this feedback constructively. I had the most fantastic meal here a week or so a go, The atmosphere was great and the food amazing. I had Chicken Mango Chaat to start. Similar to a normal Chicken Chaat, but the addition of the mango really freshened and lifted the dish. I then had Murgh Kada Masala for mains with rice and Naan. Lovely rich gravy, with tender chicken that melts in the mouth. Fluffy Naan and great rice. I was worried I'd ordered too much food, but it was so nice I managed to eat almost all of it. Authentic Indian Cuisine at 400° in Sheffield: A Culinary Delight During a recent work trip to Sheffield, my colleagues and I had a strong craving for Indian tea after a long day. Thanks to the recommendation of a friendly local, we discovered 400°, a delightful restaurant that not only satisfied our tea cravings but also introduced us to an array of mouthwatering Indian dishes. The experience left us impressed with the hospitality, speed of service, and the flavorsome offerings. Here's a detailed review of our visit to 400°, a place that deserves recognition for its authentic Indian cuisine. Ambiance and Hospitality: Upon entering 400°, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, including a server who, like us, hailed from India. The restaurant had a cozy and inviting ambiance, creating a comfortable atmosphere for our dining experience. It was fascinating to learn that many Indian students work part-time here, adding to the authenticity of the place. The servers were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, making us feel right at home. Culinary Exploration: Our server graciously recommended some must-try dishes, allowing us to delve into a delightful gastronomic journey. We started with papadum, crispy Indian snacks, accompanied by three delicious dips. These tantalizing appetizers set the stage for what was to come. We followed our server's suggestion and ordered samosa chaat, chicken tikka, fish fingers, and laal maans. Delicious Flavors and Quality: As the food arrived at our table, we were captivated by the aroma and presentation. The dishes looked enticing and lived up to our expectations. The chicken tikka and fish fingers were exceptional, with well-balanced flavors and tender textures. While the laal maans didn't surpass the taste of the original we had experienced in Rajasthan, it was still a flavorful rendition. The dishes showcased the chef's skill and commitment to preserving the authenticity of Indian cuisine. Service and Efficiency: One aspect that stood out at 400° was their impressive speed of service. Despite our large group of 17 people, the staff managed to serve us promptly without compromising on the quality of the food. The servers were attentive, ensuring that we had an enjoyable dining experience from start to finish. The efficiency of the team was commendable and contributed to our overall satisfaction. Value for Money: Considering the quality of the food, the warm hospitality, and the overall experience, the prices at 400° were reasonable. For our smaller group, the bill came to around £95, which we found quite fair. Even when we returned with a larger team of 17 people, our total bill of approximately £850 still felt justified given the fantastic service and delectable cuisine we enjoyed. Ownership and Accolades: An interesting aspect we discovered about 400° is that it is owned by a Punjabi, adding a personal touch to the restaurant's identity. Additionally, the talented chef, Sidharth Singh, hails from Rajasthan, India, and was recently honored with the prestigious Bharat Gaurav award. This recognition speaks volumes about the chef's expertise and further reinforces the authenticity and excellence of the cuisine served at 400°. Conclusion: Our visit to 400° in Sheffield left us delighted with the rich flavors and warm hospitality. The restaurant's dedication to offering authentic Indian cuisine, combined with the efficient service and inviting ambiance, made for a truly memorable experience. While the taste may not surpass that of India's finest establishments, 400° stands out as a remarkable option for those seeking a taste of Indian gastronomy in the UK. We highly recommend visiting this restaurant to satisfy your cravings for Indian food when in Sheffield. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Now the bad part - Hell expensive, papadom basket cost you around 5 / basket, quantity is way too less, the amount they charge is way to expensive. Main course is very average nothing great. If you think this review is not authentic then pls experience it yourself. At the end .. they add VAT additional on top of final bill.

Had a fairly enjoyable meal here. The server was very polite, making sure we had everything we needed. We did have to wait quite a while for our food considering we were the only people in the restaurant and not many people came in for deliveries, however this is understandable as the food is obviously cooked fresh. I had chicken pakora for my starter and enjoyed this a lot. For my main course, I had chicken tikka masala and this unfortunately did not taste much like a masala and had quite a kick to it when this is meant to be a mild dish. However, it was still fairly tasty.

I recently ordered chicken biryani from this restaurant and was extremely disappointed with the taste. The biryani had a strong, unpleasant smell and the chicken was tough and overcooked. The rice was dry and lacked any flavor, and the spices used were either too overpowering or non-existent. The dish was also poorly presented, with a sloppy and unappetizing appearance. The portions were small and the price was not worth the low quality of the food. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant's chicken biryani to anyone. The taste was simply terrible, and it was one of the worst biryanis I've ever had. Save your money and find a better place to satisfy your craving for this classic dish.

So from the owners response it turns out the chutney's are only 'on the house' if you don't eat them. If you have them with some poppadoms (which were terrible) you will be charged. However the service was slow , the waiter apologized few times for the delay. We had to wait too long for the food and there were 3 tables with people, so it wasn't busy. There was some anti-social behaviour from members of the public who entered the restaurant with the wish to use the toilet and they got aggressive when the staff did not allow them to use it, which is right. It’s been months since we came here, specifically around Christmas time as the Cathedral had it’s lumiere on. I had never got round to posting a review because my wife gave birth shortly after. I came with my then pregnant wife and two friends. We ordered a range of starters and mains including the saffron paneer. We loved the subtle twists and the authenticity of the cooking. A really clever and fancy twist to Indian cuisine which made it much more memorable than some other places we’ve been to. Waitresses were really friendly and the service was relaxed. They were a little thrown when I spoke to them in Hindi having come in with three white people but nonetheless they did a fantastic job of accommodating and adjusting to my extra levels of spice! We were also very pleasantly surprised by the price and drinks options. So pleased that Sheffield finally has an excellent Indian restaurant rather than the usual “Indian” that so many others claim to be. Also glad to hear it’s child friendly from other reviews so when my little boy is older, he’ll be coming with me too!

This was my first time in Sheffield, I visited this restaurant and was greeted by a member of staff who was very courteous towards myself, I asked for advice on the menu and the advice I received on the food which I chose was excellent. I was well looked after throughout my time at this restaurant and the service and the food was first class. I would highly recommend this to restaurant to everyone who visits Sheffield.

This is the only place in the UK where the food tastes like authentic Indian food and I have spent a considerable amount of time searching. The kebabs are the best I've eaten since being back home in India. I do however wish they were a little cheaper, I would honestly eat them every single day.

Really delicious food! I’ve been eating and cooking Indian food for many years but managed to have something here I have never tried before! It was one of the chef’s specials and was dried fruit stuffed into potato and paneer cheese in a spicy sauce. Utterly delicious and would eat again any day of the week. All of my companions loved their food to. Friendly and gracious staff eager to make out time with them the best it could be. Highly recommend!

The food was okay. But there was no card payment option, they were accepting only cash. Moreover I ordered starters as well as Main course. The main course was taking very long, in the mean time when we were having starters(the quantity was very less) and masala tea, I asked my mother to have a cookie which was in my bag(my mother is diabetic, she needed food). Then I have been told not to eat anything from outside. I mean what a cookie made the difference, I ordered everything(starters plus main course plus tea). You should pay individual attention to your customers. Not everybody’s same and not situation is same.

Great early evening meal. Came across this restaurant while looking for a takeaway, but it looked nice, so I stayed! Great food, I had murgh khada masala and rice, preceded by a basket of poppadom pieces and chutneys. All very smart, well cooked, presented and full of flavour. Lovely, helpful service as well... Worth a visit!

Best indian restaurant in town 😋 I have to say the dishes are a bit different from what I usually try in Indian restaurants with new varieties. I tried the chicken dum biryani and that was extraordinary. Very aromatic and the ginger infusion is pronounced (If you appreciate aroma like myself). From the appetizers, I tried the chicken mango chaat. Every bite of it was so refreshing and fulfilling. Wonderful service and staff . Had a lovely Bday celebration with complementary dessert from the chef 🎂
