I walked in and said is this a Chinese takeaway BECAUSE the man was Asian and I have not been it for 4 or 5 years BUT it was owned by Chinese and used to be VERY GOOD, he was pleasant and meal was SUPPOSED to be chicken omelette with green papers fried rice and curry, it cost 10.80p Al. In SO it should have been pretty decent , the omelette was NOT a omelette it was really thin looked like it had been cooked in sandwiche toasties machine and was wrapped around some chicken ( frozen garbage ) the peppers tasted like they where boiled the rice was as good as bolied rice and the curry sauce really thin with lumps in and seriously stupid put inside a 6 inch wide foil container with a peace of cardboard over the top ( guaranteed to spil/drip which it DID !!!) instead of putting it a cup with a better seal and some paper around it , I won't ever go there again 2 out 10 TOPS

Food was great its the 1st time we have eaten from here but we will definitely eat from here again and when the restaurant didn't have the dish we wanted they rang us and asked what other dish we'd like where some restaurants just cancel the order, so yeah definitely order from here again.

Had a takeaway tonight. Ordered Ribs in a honey glaze, chicken wings and chips. With delivery it was almost £17. Ribs were tough, the honey glaze was diluted and swimming at the bottom of the tray, no onions or peppers which usually accompany this dish at other places. Wings were overly coated.best thing was the chips which surely you can't get wrong. Won't be ordering here again, plus, overly priced. 😒

The food at Bamboo Chinese was a refreshing change to other restaurants. The sweet and sour dishes were not overly sickly and had a lot of flavour. The menu selection is much more varied, and we will definitely order from here again.

We had the house special noodles, egg fried rice, crispy shredded beef and prawn toast. This is our usual order always amazing and hasn’t disappointed the crispy shredded beef in sweet and sour sauce is lovely really would recommend

Food tasted like the oil was old. All tasted the same. Chips where warm ups. Ribs where shrivelled up bits of burnt grisly pieces. Crispy chilli beef had the same unchanged oil taste. Cost £53, far too expensive for what we had. And to top it all off, my son has felt sick since eating it and has spent the last hours vomiting.

Ordered spare ribs, all coating and not a rib in sight, they used the top muscle, no meat. Spring rolls, mushy, usually crisp vegetables, not freshly made. Chips, cooked the day before and microwaved! The only good thing was the soft noodles, delicious

Special fried rice was of abysmal quality considering the price. was wet, soft, clumpy, didn't even appear to have been fried or tossed with soy sauce or anything. they need to up their rice game for sure. chicken balls were good but its not hard to get them wrong really as long as you have a good batter recipe. sweet and sour i couldn't knock it but curry sauce was really mild, if you like a spicier curry sauce definitely don't order. i'm going back to Yang's, just goes to show stars and ratings really don't mean much at all.

I really can’t understand the bad reviews listed regarding this place. I have never had anything but top notch Chinese food from here. The king do ribs are an absolute winner. Great food always so far.

Went from first rate food on first order to second rate garbage, plain and simple. Same ribs, greasy. Same rice clumpy. Main dish, hunt the meat, and the mushrooms they loaded it with looked off.

The restaurant only delivered half our items. When we tried to contact the restaurant, we could not get through...it was as if they purposefully had their line engaged. I was able to contact the delivery driver, who had repeatedly reassured myself that the restaurant would ring me back and refund me, but they never did. I tried to resolve this on Just Eat (where I ordered the food), but customer service could not offer the refund due to the restaurant not marking the order as complete. With regards to the food quality, the food that did arrive wasn't to an acceptable standard. For example, a grey 'jelly' consistency on top of the chicken noodles. Very unappetising. Completely unprofessional service and a total waste of £30.

Ordered a large takeaway from here for our house, spent £67. They forgot to bring £20 worth of our food and took over 2 hours for food to arrive. The food they did bring us was terrible and tasted of nothing. We ordered vegan vermicelli and some vegan salt and pepper chips there were pieces of pork in these dishes. 2 people didn’t have anything to eat because they forgot food and there vegan dishes had pork in them. This place is expensive and absolutely disgraceful. Only offered a refund for food they forgot to bring. Don’t support this takeaway it is terrible, the service is terrible and the food is atrocious and ridiculously over priced

Super food consistently, always reviver well within the time frame, polite etc, but best of all the.foods great. My only gripe is the single person price barrier. Minimum order price for singles is a pain. I hack this by orderring two. If you bung the 2nd one in the fridge straight away and next day heat it slowly in the oven, it's just as good, but it takes time and patience.Top takeaway apart from the.minimum order for old singletons. I recently ordered a takeout for delivery from here. Delivery was excellent as the food arrived 10 mins earlier than estimated. The food itself was of good quality, perfect portion size and arrived piping hot!The only downside was the prawn crackers, personal taste but these were too thin and oily for me. I am very surprised at the negative comments on here as our experience was really good and the food was yummy!

Ok, so being careful about what i put but the facts are that we have never been here before, am mid 50s and this place has been here for decades so friends who came round said to give them a try.Food arrived quicly so fair enough.My crispy fried beef? Was tough and questionable and grey in colour, it came with rice and some peppers of some kind or another, ate about a quarter and gave up. Absolutely awful. So. Had sweet n sour chicken, again tasted not right so he left his. Wifes was ok but she left most of hers too. Approx one hour later the flood gates opened... No more needed to say. coincidence or not?Just very disappointed, the place has been there ages so i thought it would be great but unfortunately i won't be back again

Well established takeaway been there for years so thought it would be good. It wasnt. I ordered Chicken Chop Sueywith egg fried rice, chicken fried rice, with no egg, beansprout noodles, curry sauce and chips. God knows what the "chicken" really was but it was slimy & chewy and i spat it out it was that bad !! The egg fried rice was more like cous cous, the chicken fried rice had bigger pieces of spring onion than chicken ! I asked for beansprot noodles and checked they would be the fine noodles but oh no big fat slimy noodles and no beansprouts. The only thing that tasted ok was the curry sauce !! Avoid at all costs, tasteless slimy gross food !

Ordered via online facility, and arrived at appointed time to find our order waiting. Brought home, about 9 minutes by car, and served up at home still hot. All items ordered present, and enjoyed. Enough for second serving the following night!

We had our chinese takeaway delivered to our hotel. It was there within 20mins, hot & tasty, reasonably priced. No complaints from either my wife or meself. It was spot on. Duck curry, amazing, chow mein, yum & I've never seen spare ribs that size before [huge] Seriously generous portions in comparison to Birmingham where we come from.

Original Chinese restaurant but I notice Muslim family bought the bamboo. They suppose to change the name so people know that it is not Chinese take away . I notice it’s taste is not as good as use tone . I asked many times but they just avoid the question . Price has gone but not the quality. They must tell us that it is not a Chinese takeaway . They kept the same name and people think it is Chinese restaurant . Only way to avoid these one

Have to say this was the worse chinese food I’ve ever had. We ordered chicken fried rice and it was awful. It was like packet rice with plastic pieces of chicken. Very poor. Wouldn’t go back if it was the last food place on Earth.

Ordered food today they conveniently forgot they said that. Will not order from there again.. you have been warned get refund immediately don’t accept credit from them!!!!

Haven't had any take away since before Christmas so decided to treat ourselves to our favorite Bamboo. How it has changed in the last 6/7 weeks. Very slow delivery (later than advised and usually arrives much earlier than advised) the chips were revolting. Certainly not what it used to be.

Called in as this used to be my very regular takeaway years ago, was so looking forward to my sweet and sour chicken balls as there’s only a few places that serve the balls separately to the sauce. Good fast friendly service and free bag of prawn crackers. Unfortunately when I got home I realised all the balls had been burnt to a crisp so half of them we’re inedible. Really disappointing as it’s quite a simple dish

the worst chinese in preston avoid, manager is unhelpful and unwilling to recite problems. rice was like mush and tasted like dish soap. chips were inedible. the main dish was like brown mush. avoid this place, lots of others available including bao bao down the road!!!!!!!!!please avoid at all costs

My husband used to go here years ago and it was one of the best places but now it is terrible, the potions are the smallest I have seen and the cost is sky high, We will not be going there again. The chips were from dinner time they were horrible the fish was burnt and very small for the price and we got beef mushroom fried rice which was again tastless and over cooked even the beef didnt taste like beef the mushroom were are black as the beef

Bamboo was the first takeaway leaflet that I found, so I rang up and ordered,a portion of salt and pepper chilli ribs with a portion of soft noodle with beansprouts.The ribs were very tasty and came in bite sized pieces as opposed to whole ribs,which I prefer.A big portion of soft noodles were very nice too and a portion of prawn crackers for free were a nice touch.I got a bit behind with the time but when I got to the shop they had my order waiting for me in an insulated container still lovely and warm.

Going away over Christmas, bags packed and taxi to airport picking us up at 3am we ordered a bite to eat from the Bamboo, Chrispy shredded beef, Dim sum combo and curry sauce, instead of the prawn crackers I asked for a fortune cookie instead, a nice munch before our Chrimbo break without having to wash up.....order came to just over 15quid so free delivery....food arrived about 20mins after ordering, piping hot and well cooked, Dim sum starter was my fave as we saved the spring rolls for the taxi journey....delivery driver was smart clean and polite....awwwe give him a tip.....recommended by me, a takeaway enthusiast.....good stuff....✌p.s. Love the free 2017 calender....yep....

One of my favourite Chinese takeaways. Delivery was the time they said it would be and staff nice and friendly. Good, tasty food. They even gave us a complimentary new year calendar ~ all very lovely.

Last night 7 of us ordered food from Bamboo, and usually I have no complaint at all about the service, the cost or the food itself. Unfortunately, I encountered something new from Bamboo - when you spend a good amount they will include extra bags of their greasy prawn crackers and a large bottle of soft drink. We had bags of prawn crackers last night and obviously "as a treat" they included a bottle of 7Up. But it was not an ordinary bottle of 7up - it was an already opened bottle of 7up! It appears to contain approx. 80% liquid rather than 100% liquid.I don't know whether the driver delivering the meal got thirsty or someone just did not look when putting the order together, but this is not good enough for a well established (in fact it is probably the best established Chinese take away in Preston) Take Away which I have used for years. It is a shame that Bamboo appears to be getting careless because they still make the best Prawn Toast in Preston. I'll think twice about ordering from them again.

Love this place, been a regular customer for a while, thought I would try a stir fry from the 'New Slim Wok' menu and it was delicious, fresh veg, chicken beast and no oil. Won't go anywhere else, defo worth a visit, especially if you are watching your waistline and you have no shopping in!

Told we should have asked for it to be battered.1 salt & chilli ribs - it had been re fried so often before I picked it up it I could not eat it.1 garlic & chilli chicken - all vegetable very little chickenBest of all was the fried rice which was bright yellow . I was told it had no colourings but then after talking to them on the phone they admitted they used colourings & it was up to me to tell them not to !!Don not go there !!

So glad bamboo is back up and running, last place awful!! Food was gorgeous, tasty and warm, only thing that let it down was the time it took to get here, just over an hour but that's probably due to being busy.
