A beautiful experience very unique setting, a Teepee full of comfortable sofas that you sink into and an open fire very quaint, the staff are very friendly and the food is amazing, great bacon sandwiches and fresh homemade cakes. A wonderful place to go and relax as you walk through valley gardens and the pine woods. Can get a bit boggy on the outdoor seating areas but that’s not a problem as the teepee is so big.

This was our second visit as we enjoyed our first visit so much. This time we took our visiting family from Wales. We thoroughly enjoyed our teas/coffees/milkshake/cakes and bagels. The choice was excellent, quality first class and service quick, very friendly and helpful as before (thanks Caroline and the young woman with you). I had a second helping of Bev's carrot cake, not to be missed. Note to Mrs Brown, thank you for providing such a gem of a watering hole and your Tipi was so comfortable and relaxing. We will be back. Stopped here for a rest on our walk. Lots of paths leading here, ranging from the well paved route from valley gardens to the steep steps of the Harrogate Ringway trail. Lots of beautiful views. Great selection of drinks and treats. We had a latte, a Bakewell slice & a biscoff flapjack and we enjoyed them all. The queue was very slow, but the two girls serving were very pleasant and going as fast as possible. There's plenty of benches outside as well as a large teepee with comfy indoor seating. Outdoor toys and games for kids. There's also a portaloo. Will be back to try the pizza!

I was so excited to take family here as visit quite often when walking on my own.As we strolled up the lane a couple walked past and said that they had got fed up queuing for a coffee and had left. When we arrived there were about 6 people in front of us and when we left,30 minutes later without coffees or breakfast ,there were still 3 people waiting. I understand completely that it was not the fault of the owner that the card machine wasn't working but the sign telling you this was out of sight until you got to the front of the queue! It took 15 minutes to get one woman's payment by sending various codes to her phone whilst we all stood patiently behind.Surely for one coffee it would have been easier to just let her pay another time!We would have paid for her but had a real job scrapping together enough cash for our own drinks. The two young girls and the woman in charge were working hard but it was chaotic with toast burning and having to be done again and no nominated person making drinks. We walked 5 minutes to Bettys and got takeaway drinks there within 3 minutes. The popularity of this place means they really need to get organised, won't be back!

A Monday morning dog walk with friends ended with a lovely visit for breakfast at the hidden gem, Bamber and Brown cafe and teepee. What a fabulous, unique setting, we sat outside in the sunshine but the Teepee is amazing inside with comfy sofas and fire for those chilly days. The staff are so friendly and I had the best bacon buttie I’ve had in ages. Would definitely recommend a visit.

This is the 3rd time we have been here and have really enjoyed our visits. What makes this cafe different from other cafes is the relaxed atmosphere both when eating outside and in the large rusticly decorated tepee seating area. The coffee is excellent and the bacon sandwiches are the best we have had ! Today we met Pippa and Caroline both really friendly and service was excellent. Highly recommend visiting we will be back. Just wish the cafe was nearer to where we live as would visit more often. Thank you for a lovely time.

I’ve been to the teepee several times over the last few months. It’s a fabulous cosy hideaway with a variety of choices and they even have a pizza oven. It’s a novel and unique place to have a small celebration with fizz and snacks. You’re guaranteed a warm welcome and the teepee is so cosy and relaxing.

A magical little find, quaint, quality and very different. I found the Teepee ⛺️ by chance after doing a beautiful walk from The Crag up to Harlow Carr, it’s just beyond Betty’s Harlow Carr, car park 3. I’m really upset by the bad review that was written as I have been a regular since the business started. I happened to be there on that particular day, there were problems with the electric, the girls were trying their best to satisfy the customers, a couple of people were impatient and the lady that owns the business Philippa was trying her hardest to sort out the power. What I can say if you want fast boring predictable go to Costa or Nero’s. If you want quaint, classy, friendly, homemade cakes, fabulous coffee, ice cream or a posh bacon and egg butty this is your place to go. The service may not be the fastest but take a moment to soak up the atmosphere and understand what the experience is all about. I cannot recommend highly enough. I take my dog walking through the valley gardens then the pine woods and visit The Teepee to take in the beauty that is on offer. Open space, wildlife, dog and children friendly. A place to switch off, practice a bit of mindfulness and appreciation of our countryside. A Gem 💎

Situated a short walk further along the lane from RHS Harlow Carr, this is a nicely different place to have coffee or a bite to eat. There are effectively two outdoor serving kiosks, one for food and drinks and the other for ice cream. There is a nice menu of hot and cold snacks as well as pizza, cakes etc. We were only here for coffees which were very good. There is plenty of outdoor seating as well as the fabulous, huge tipi, which is very roomy and has lots of comfortable sofas as well as various tables and chairs. As far as service is concerned, we were perhaps unfortunate to arrive just after a group who had ordered sandwiches and assorted drinks, which seemed to keep both ladies in the kiosk very busy. I noted a previous reviewer complaining about lack of eye contact while waiting to be served, and I must say that we felt the same and would suggest that a smile and a simple “be with you in a couple of minutes” wouldn’t go amiss. This was our first visit here and we will certainly return.

Arrived around 10.45 and was first in the queue. Wasn't greeted by the two staff. No eye contact. Waited. Waited. And waited. The two staff were struggling to manage what seemed like a massive back-log of orders. But there weren't that many customers and there were lots of unoccupied tables. However, I continued to wait to be served. One of the staff did lots of shouting, to attract the customers with outstanding orders, which was a bit unpleasant. Customers would come over, and realise their orders were wrong. So more waiting to be served ensued. Eventually, after standing and waiting for about 20 minutes (still no eye contact with the two staff) and realising the staff were not remotely clearing the backlog of orders, me and my friend decided to leave. We made no complaint, no point, as no eye contact with staff, who had not taken our order...why would they, they couldn't cope with the orders they already had, and were getting those wrong. Suddently a blond woman appeared from nowhere, and frankly, was rude and aggressive. She started ranting "they're trying their hardess". I ignored her. She then said "what is it you want?" WTF! I ignored her again. She continued to rant. Those waiting in the queue, now about 6 people, looked embarrassed. Don't go, unless you would enjoy being ignored, made to wait and stand in line like a naughty child, and enjoy shouting staff and being accousted by an aggressive woman (who wasn't helping her colleagues in the food van) but seemed to enjoy being a prat.

What a gem of a place, tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Food good value, we just had lunch, bagels, bacon sandwich and crumpets. Had planned on pizza but last three were taken by previous customers. Will definitely return.

When a friend said we were having our coffee stop in a tent we didn’t know quite what to expect! But Wow! It’s fantastic! Lovely friendly service, lovely food and drink, and the teepee is amazing with its lovely cosy seating and the fire in the middle. We had a much longer stop than we planned and had to drag ourselves out to continue our walk!

We popped into The Black Mulberry for a drink but ended up staying for a bite to eat, and I’m so glad we did! The food was delicious, with generous portions that left us more than satisfied. The staff were really lovely, super friendly and made us feel welcome right away. The place itself has a cosy, relaxed vibe, perfect for a casual meal or just grabbing a drink. Definitely a spot I’d visit again!

Stumbled on this little eatery while visiting Knaresborough on a Sunday lunch time. We went in to get maybe a sandwich and thought it wasn’t going to be great to be honest but ended up having a cooked lunch and it was so good! The place was busy and you could tell they were locals as they were chatting across to each other. We looked at the menu and decided to have have a cooked meal. I ordered pie chips and peas and my husband a burger with chips salad and coleslaw and a pot of tea. You could actually get a 3 course Sunday lunch for £14.50! When mine came there were no peas but another bowl soon arrived full of fresh vegetables and a big jug of gravy. Food was really good the staff were lovely. The lady said that as she had been cooking Sunday lunches she gave me some of the veg. We were thoroughly impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to visit again. Great food and great value for money! Definitely worth trying!

Best afternoon tea about! Mama Doreen’s never disappoints, the food is beautiful as is the fizz! The staff are friendly, attentive and extremely patient (when customers are being outright rude and difficult). Big shout out to Elliot who was amazing, thank you for making my mums birthday so special! Can’t wait to come back soon xxx

Fantastic food, friendly staff and excellent value. Will definitely go again next time we are in the area. I couldn't eat it all and they put in in a box for me to take home.
