Baltic Pearl in Halton

Was really looking forward to a meal out here with my misses after it had just re-opened after being closed for months. The sign outside looks so inviting, on arrival we were made to stand for 5 minutes even though we booked a table we were told there’s been a mix up which makes no sense as we booked online, then we were told that we could sit in the bar area until a table became available, this was not a good thing as now we could see all the food coming out piping hot and then it would sit under the heat lamp for 15 -20 minutes, some food longer, basically until there was literally no steam coming from the food !! Also tables kept coming available and we was not moved, anyway We just sat there totally amazing wondering how these plates just kept building up, the staff didn’t have a clue what they were doing it was like it was there 1st day on planet earth ! Bar staff extremely slow, waiters were stacking all of the old dirty plates within 6 inch from the new fresh food that had just came out the kitchen which is absolutely disgusting and something we’ve never ever seen before, People were coming over and having a chat with the bar staff leaning over the food on the bar, basically spitting all over the food as they chat away directly over the food, honestly it was absolutely disgusting! We’ve never ever seen anything like it! You also had to queue and pay for your food before you had even eaten it? This is very strange also and not good atall as I left the misses at the table on her own for about 25 mins waiting to be served ! There was zero management, no one was being told what to do, everyone was just walking round like zombies apart from the female chef who we could see was clearly getting very annoyed at the plates building up, she’ was the only one keeping the place going to be honest it reason was that bad, were just sat there both embarrassed it was so uncomfortable. Needless to say tables everywhere and were still sat on a dingy table near the bar. Everyone could see the food just sat there, eventually our mains came out as we could see them across the room Just sat there on the side under the heat lamp, We waited and waited and no food was coming, waiters were literally bringing dirty plates past the fresh food and then walking back past the food without taking it to the table?? Eventually a guy got up and went and got his own food off the bar, my girlfriend then got up walked over and grabbed our food herself and explained to the waiter that we are not waiting any longer and we do not want cold food. The waiter happily let her take the food to her own table so she basically served herself, Then what a surprise the food was absolutely stone cold, We were that annoyed and disappointed that we didn’t want to complain and wait another half hour for a stone cold burger so I just eat the meat on the burger, left the chips and bun and left immediately without even touching any starters or desserts even though it’s included in the price, We just wanted to get out of there it was so embarrassing and We’ve never experienced anything like it before, We definitely will not be returning as I can honestly say this is the worst restaurant and worst eating out Experience we have ever had, even if it was free next time we still aren’t interested! Avoid like the plague. No stars!

We arrived and was greeted with a lovely smile - it went down hill from there. Initially told that the only meal not available on the menu was the beef stroganoff. Upon ordering, I asked for a draft beer, to the reply of - “Sorry No Draft”. I changed my order to a polish bottled beer. My wife asked for a Malibu and Coke - reply “We don’t have!” We then shown the waitress Malibu on the drinks list and pointed to the bottle behind the bar. I ordered the Babushska Special - which was recommended and I had the response - “We don’t have!” At this point I asked for 5 more minutes to have another look at the menu and asked the waitress to start with the drinks. The waitress returned with the drinks and as my wife was looking at the bottled beer I’d ordered she noticed the beer was out of date! It was at this point I decided to abandon ship and head for the Thai place up the road! Such a shame as the vibe and atmosphere was nice. This is now of our restaurant list.

Fab food, lovely atmosphere. We had pierogi, golabki and goulash - would recommend all of those dishes.

First time in my life I couldn't choose what to eat. Wanted a bit of everything. Lovely food, reminded me of home. Portions are big, but very delicious. Definitely going again. But it was a bit cold in there.

Went for an anniversary meal and really enjoyed our evening. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced and the service was excellent. Husband was driving so was happy to see they had non alcoholic beer which he said was delicious. Would definitely go again and recommend you try it also noticed they cater for children with a children’s menu. Excellent value for money

Fabulous tasty food, great value, lovely cosy ambiance, really friendly helpful staff, we had mushroom soup delicious, stroganoff and bigos which was a sauerkraut and sausage dish, and the best mash I have ever tasted! There was live music, just a lovely atmosphere. The fixed menu was fantastic value at £10.95for 3 courses (Mon to Fri) This is the best restaurant in Widnes!

A friend recommended going here after a nice meal so we went early evening can't praise this restaurant enough! The staff decor and service was very good the food was absolutely delicious every course and presented beautifully ! The staff were really nice dispite being very busy . If you go early 5-7pm it's three courses for a very reasonable price will definitely be going again soon.. 5 stars is not enough keep up the good work definitely will be recommending to everyone 😊

Came back again and will keep coming back again to the best restaurant bar none in widnes. Tried different items of the menu this time and the smoked sausage soup and mix grill are to die for. Starters and mains for seven, two bottles of wine, 20 pints of excellent Lithuanian beer, coffees all round and a couple of whiskey chasers all for £200. This is amazing value in a lovely venue with staff who really go the extra mile. Can’t wait to get back here again.

Not really for me Visited here this week and although I cant say it was bad, wasnt my sort of place. Lovely surroundings and a massive place. I had mushroom soup for starter with rye bread which was lovely. The main pork stroganoff with chips (loads of them) was ok but ive had better. I think it was the little things that let it down. The table was just completely bare, no little touches. No condiments on any table.We ordered our drinks and although there were only 7 of us in there, us 4 and another 3 it must have took them 20 mins to deliver. Hope it gets better but heyho!!!

Well worth the title of best restaurants in the area. Amazing food. Amazing value. Massive portions. And the Lithuanian draft beer is on point. Friendly staff. If you haven’t been here before / why not??

Fantastic food, decor and atmosphere. Great for a romantic evening or with family and friends. Love the decor. Food was lovely and great quality for a cheap price. Enjoyed the mix grill. Tasty red wine. The restaurant did look closed from the outside but it wasn't so don't be out off if you drive past! Give it a try!

We love this place! Food is always cooked fresh and is really tasty. The Tower for starter is a winner!! For mains the kids had burgers, I had Basbushka’s Special and my husband had a steak. We had a couple of bottles of Romanian wine too. Service was good as always.

Food was nice an hot, chips was lovely. Panko burger was a little thin but other than that was really impressive. Would have been 5 stars if not for the thin burger

This place is a little gem in Widnes. The food is amazing, the staff are friendly and assertive. If you go, try some traditional Polish/Eastern food, you won’t be disappointed. Couple it with a Moldovan wine. Perfect!

Went with my family. Decor is amazing and very high spec. Service was brilliant and very welcoming. Food is cooked to perfection. We booked in advance which i would suggest for a Saturday tea time. We will definitely be going back very soon
