Balti Raj Indian Restaurant in Hinckley and Bosworth

I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone and will definitely be returning! The service was outstanding, with friendly staff who made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. The food was exceptional, especially since I’ve been craving a good home-cooked curry for ages. The owner even took the time to check in and make sure everything was perfect, which it certainly was. A truly lovely place!

Fancied an Indian and googled my nearest one to where I was and came up with this little gem of an Indian was not disappointed for starters. I had onion badges lovely and crispy and for a main I ordered chicken tikka Dakin with special rice and a peshwari Nan. All for £16.95 off the set meals for one which was for a starter main meal and one or the other rice or bread. I got the nan add as an extra for £3.50 So for the price of £20.45 without a drink you won’t be disappointed. Sorry for the half eaten pics but I was starving lol😂 Get down there and try it out!!!

Have tried a few different Indian takeaway in Hinckley and I have always come back to Balti Raj- the food is amazing.

Came here a few weeks ago for the first time. Was very impressed by the service, really feel cared for when you're being served. Had a chicken madras, was really good! A very good Indian restaurant. Definitely recommend!

Me and my wife haven’t been here for a while, tonight we came back for date night and wasn’t disappointed, the service was spot on and not rushed at all, the food was piping hot, fresh and flavourful, I recommend tandoori plater as a starter and mains either meats or veggie options are all spot on, we will back again 🍻👍

First time visiting after being recommended. Service was quick and staff was friendly. Food came out within notice and it was fantastic. Portion sizes are great and was nice to see thry don't scrimp and save on the amount of meat. Will definitely visit again.

Both meals tonight were absolutely delicious correct amount of spice and not overpowering with heat, Fish Jalfrezi and chicken tikka madras. Delivery on time and piping hot with no spillage

We had a table booked for father's day... This was not what we expected from the start, the table behind us was extremely loud, they kept banging into our chairs even though they had plenty of space behind them. We waited over 30mins for them to take our order... From finishing out poppadoms to getting our mains there was over an hour's wait (we didn't even order starters) when it came one of the Currys didn't taste anything like it should off and had a very powdered texture to it. Would not recommend as it seems to off gone down hill since the previous year we visited and the prices have doubled.

The environment and atmosphere was electric. I loved the taste of indian foods and i was going there with some of my friends. The quality and quantity was really good. Customer service was top. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Really would not recommend this restaurant first of all they try to overcharge me which will I will put the photo of the receipt on and we have been up all night with food poisoning which my wife is pregnant and she has to go to hospital really would not recommend this restaurant whatsoever very bad service very bad food standards my food come to £75 on The receipt it said £104 and when I confronted them about it they got very angry and frustrated

We have recently moved to Hinckley so it was the first time we have used the Balti Raj, we had a takeaway meal and I have to say it was the best I had ever had! Fast and friendly service, highly recommended, try the king prawn korai, lovely! 😋 - update Feb 2023 the food is still amazing 👏

We recently came here with a huge party of people. We were given a large table, seating around 21 of us. The staff were great, available when needed and polite. The food was very good with no complaints from anyone. Everyone got their order. The staff were on thr ball with drinks. Had a great night. We will be back! Thanks

Lamb chops to start ,2 pieces and not a great deal of meat on the bones.Curry was described as fairly hot but was quite mild,generous amount of chicken though.

This is now our go to local Indian, since our previous favourite, Silchar, stopped serving alcohol. The food and service at Balti Raj, are both excellent. Staff are friendly and welcoming. All of us enjoyed our meals. See you again soon.

Awesome food, had takeaway. Was on a tight schedule,due to being my lunchtime. Added a request for the food to be ready at a particular time. This was a window of 5 minutes. The food was waiting for me, the staff were super friendly as well. I got my food back to my office. It was piping hot and exactly what I had ordered. Very tasty, will definitely be eating from there again soon.

Just ordered a chicken nagga from here which should be a spicey hot curry with a thick flavoursome sauce and it certainly wasn't as it should be maat samosa was just plain and ordinary garlic rice was still very wet and naan bread was very small all in all a real let down wont go again

We thought we would try a different place to eat out with family I book a table on line for the Friday evening it was packed when we arrived we sat near the window as you come in near the door so it wasn't very warm not enough room on the table felt squashed in old decorated room food wasn't the best I had a chicken tikka Masala Very red very sweet rice Was stodgy same to all the others but we have to try things out good friendly staff

Im an Indian connoisseur & no where in Hinckley matches this places standard's. I have tried 80% of the menu but highly recommend lamb naga or chauk de phat

Place has a great ambient atmosphere, nice to hear Indian music. Service was good and the food was very good.

I was in Hinckley sorting out family. Home as my Ex wife had passed away.So wanted a nice place to have a relaxing meal.They did not disappoint the meal was good and Excellent quality at a very good price. When in Hinckley will pop in again such a nice place to eat.

The people very friendly but food was to dried up hardly any sauce wouldn't go back again

I am visiting hickley from Bradford and the only word I can use to describe the food is "appalling". We went here based off of reviews and I was shocked. The biriyani was hard and the chicken appallingly dry. The chips were soggy, the pilau was nothing like pilau (i am Indian and have tasted at least 50 different types). The chicken tikka massala made my stomach turn it was like eating red grit. For the price I expected akbars or aagrahs quality and have been left £70 down for food I wouldn't even feed my dogs! The sofa in the entryway looked so old and rugged, absolutely rubbish atmosphere. We waited nearly an hour for the food as well. If I could give it no stars I would!

We've always ordered from here as it was our favourite, however since its been taken over the quality of the food has been bad, I ordered our usual, when it turned up almost 2 hours later it was cold and some of it was missing, I called them and they asked for it back and they would send another one over but that was cold too. W left it fit 2 months and then made an order for collection, we went to pick it up but they said they had told me it was a 40 minute wait, when we finally got it, it was cold and we had to re-heat it in the microwave. We won't be placing an order there anymore

Ive never ordered from this place before so thought i'd give it a try. My food was ordered at 7:42 and arrived at 9:23, my king prawn starter consisted of 4 tiny prawns, 1 slice of pepper and about a quarter of a hard onion, and the naan bread I ordered had a long white hair in it which doesn't exactly instill confidence in the standards of hygiene. Looking at other reviews I'm wondering whether I've ordered from the same Balti Raj restaurant. 🤔

I've never written a review before but thought I had to tonight because of how amazingly perfect this dining experience was. Every body inside the establishment was friendly and professional we were seen to immediately, our food was presented beautifully and we were hardly waiting at all. This is by far the best Indian food we have ever had, the korma was the perfect mix of creamy and delicious, there is not a bad thing to say about the food, the decor, or the wonderful staff. The staff even offered us complimentary after meal alcoholic drinks, to which we had to decline unfortunately as I was driving and my partner can not drink alcohol on medication, but we were really pleased with this small gesture of kindness and hospitality. On our way out the staff even held the door for us and shook our hands. Absolutely perfect all round and the price was fair yet affordable. If we could give more stars we would!

I dropped in a few days ago with one of my daughter's, we were shown our seats with no waiting, ordered some drinks and left to continue to look at the menu. After a few minutes a second person come over and we ordered as we asked a few questions the waiter advised my daughter about the meal that she had just ordered, l was surprised that he took the time and effort to advise, we continued to orderd our meal. Food arrived, the meal that my daughter ordered was a little different from what you normally would have! As it was quite thick, one of the staff came back over and was very polite and helpful.. the food was hot, tasty and enjoyable, throughout our meal we were asked if everything was okay, though l see this as to hopefully enjoy our meal and to see if we require more drinks, l also see this as engagement for advice, after we had finished and the plates being taken away one of the sfatt members showed my daughter on how they fold their napkins...overall the service was second to none...the staff very helpful and the food very hot and enjoyable, we were relaxed and that made the whole experience a enjoyable evening. I would recommend Balti Raj for their service and food to anyone that is looking for that little bit extra, than just sitting down for a meal! Well done Balti Raj an experience my daughter is till talking about.
