The price was amazing. The drinks were good. The atmosphere and music were very nice. It definitely is intended for a younger crowd, but overall very enjoyable.

We didn’t eat here but under food is my review for drinks. Their specialty is crazy sugary novelty drinks. Regular drinks are quite weak and not as inexpensive. BUT, what a fun, original place. The ball pit was fun, loved the little slide, got a kick out of the atmosphere, music was great. The demographic skews 18-28 …two of us are significantly past that window and had a blast.

this one star is for your terrace that makes it impossible to go around on wheelchair....we had friend who was not able to pas thru cobblestones as your terrace has been blocking proper pavement

Honestly, I don't know what to say. The workers were making out in the corner. We reserved a table, and one of the waitresses told us to give it back in 15 minutes, but it had only been 10 minutes when we went in. Music was also so bad

Absolutely class night out. Went as part of a hen party and had a fabulous night. Had the karaoke and ballpit package and all 12 of us had the best time!!!

As much as I enjoyed my time here, the staff were helpful there was a lovely atmosphere. We paid £35 for 2 hours with 4 drinks and bottomless pizza. We arrived at 6pm and still hadn't been served our pizza at 7pm we had to go and ask it came about 7.10 and we had to leave by 8pm. But is a nice place and worth the money.

Will never be back! Some staff need trained and educated in customer service and manners. Getting charged different prices for the same drinks. Really weird vibes about this place ....

Me and my boyfriend went here on a Thursday evening, there was a lovely musician playing and entry to the ball pit was only £6. It was not too busy at the time we went (10pm) and the ball pit was really fun. There was a slide leading back to the main bar which was cool. The drinks were very cheap and tasted good. My cocktail was only £5 and came with dip dab, definitely recommend

Went on a Sunday night was a brilliant experience, loved the cocktails. Great gimmicks cocktails in a bag to be like a caprisun, and light up gadgets. Will be back next time I’m in Edinburgh. Only thing is when we’d decided to go to the ball pit the security said they were closing early at 12 instead of 1am, due to it being quite so we couldn’t go up. After explaining to a lovely woman she let us have time in the ball pit and was definitely worth the wait.

Absolute recommendation for a fun evening! Great ball pit, entertaining quiz master and great drinks!

The bar is great fun, and to be honest, originally, we only came here for the ball pit. We ended up staying for a few drinks and loved the vibe of the place. The drinks were good, the staff were lovely and the experience in the ball pit, which is in a room full of mirrors, with music playing and a slide that gets you down a floor instead of taking the stairs, was amazing. It's definitely a place I'd go back to and have a long night out. They also have a cloak room.

I go through to Ballie every other week, it’s got one of the best atmospheres you’ll find in Edinburgh along side unreal food & drinks. The staff are amazing, everyone is so friendly and attentive. No where I’d rather spend a night out!

They didn't allow me to enter because I was going by myself. 🥲 So, be sure you're going with a partner or with a group of friends. I know it's weird to go alone to places, but I didn't have many friends in Edinburgh because I was solo-traveling and usually I’m ok with going to places by myself.

First time being at ballies. I had a great time in the ball pit. Drink and food are a reasonable price. Would recommend for any party outing. My group had chosen the booth and balls package. £9 per person that included food and drinks. You get a welcome cocktail, prosecco, or beer. Also, you can order drinks from the table with the QR code, no waiting in a que. The package also includes 3 hours of unlimited time in the ball pit. Let's face it, everyone loves fun playing with balls..... 🫣😂 100% would recommend.

We waited over an hour for our 2 hour pizza to be delivered, so only got an hour, stuck to floor, wasn't explained properly how drink tokens worked. Disabled toilet was a store cupboard with a toilet in it. Seating also too high for visitors in some places, especially disability people. Atmosphere was great, disco was brilliant, entertainment was brilliant

Booked a package for a hen do and pre paid. It was all waiting for us when we arrived and we were greeted really pleasantly by the staff and shown to our table. It was good value for money especially having bottomless pizzas. We got lucky with the ball pit area being pretty quiet too each time we went. I was 7 months pregnant during my visit and still had a blast and can't wait to come back. Only down fall is we had to leave our table after 3 hours which I wasn't pleased about as there were others and we were left to fend for ourselves even with some of the alcohol that was leftover.

Don't buy a Wowcher deal for this as it does not get honoured .....very disappointing response when questioned and free pizza does not cover the disappointment

Only lost one star because the ball pit needs a way visitors can earth the static built up by all the friction or at least put a non conductive sleeve on the metal rail. I got repeatedly shocked when coming out as the static electricity discharged through my fingertips into the metal stair rail. The staff were great, the pizza was good, the drinks were fab, the entertainment was OK, (Taylor swift drag queen was just meh, sorry. )

I went for the ball pit I enjoyed it coz it was empty just me and my friend ,it’s absolutely worth it u get too excited when u enter then after 5 minutes youre tired and just lying down haha

Was here Friday eve for my daughters Hen party, after moaning to my other daughter ( the organiser) why would we even be doing something like this on your sisters hen thinking this is not her and that it was just playing around in a ball pit and drinks! Well how wrong was i, brilliant atmosphere, entertainment, music, dancing and karaoke. Again i don't do Karaoke bars but again they have this spot on how they do it. Drag act so good and an extra as we hadn't realised she was on and my daughter absolutely loves a drag queen. We had booked a VIP table and it was done really well, drinks and pizza. Loved the little additions of sparkles in the prossecco and an ediple paper photo of the future bride and groom on the cocktails. In what i thought was going to be a tacky bar was far from it! The staff were also very attentive and friendly i would give a 20 out of 10 for giving my daughter such a special night.

Where to start! We booked a karaoke and a VIP booth for my hen night. I was so impressed with the attention to detail. Staff were exceptional. We got real celebrity treatment with unprompted complimentary drinks and sparklers. They really have thought of everything. My friend lost a shoe in the ball pit and we were directed to get a free pair of jelly shoes until we can recover hers. The atmosphere was fantastic and the staff genuinely seemed to be having a great time too. I would definitely recommend this experience. Thank you so much for a great night!

I absolutely love this place. It's definitely a hotspot for parties, more common for bride-to-bes.

Had a group booking which we paid almost £100 for and refused entry with only £50 refunded due to members of the group being “drunk”, were refusing to tell us what member of the group was too drunk, I recon because no one actually was, feel although was a plough to keep some of the booking money. Very disappointing only getting half the money back feel like it should have been refunded in full. Attitude towards our group from the door staff was shocking as-well.

Had a booking for a group of 9 last night which we paid £90 deposit on. When we arrived, the person that had made the booking showed the door staff the confirmation. Person on the door wasn’t even with us a minute before he disappeared inside. Short while later 2 other door staff came out and said we weren’t getting in as some people were ‘too drunk’. They couldn’t tell us who was apparently too drunk even after being asked multiple times. Was told the 4 girls were ok and that 1 of the boys was ok but the rest weren’t and then they changed it and said it was 1 of the girls that was too drunk. We had only had 2 or 3 drinks before arriving here so none of us were drunk at all. We were told we would be given a refund and we were only refunded £50. Door staff were very rude and wouldn’t answer any of the questions we had to ask. They claim to have spoken with a girl with a blue dress on which none of us were wearing. Seems as though they just wanted an excuse not to let us in as we were a group of young people but they’re happy enough to keep our money. Definitely won’t be back at any of these venues after this. Absolute joke of a place and staff.

Why take booking of large parties when you clearly don’t welcome them. Then steal the booking fee. Happened to myself and a group of friends then upon speaking to a friend seems they were treated the same. Easy excuse saying some members were ‘too drunk’ I know with my group for certain 4 members had 0 alcohol and the others had only had 2 drinks waiting on the rest of the party to arrive by train

Attended an event at this establishment over the weekend. While the event was great, the building made it fantastic! Firstly, the bartenders were friendly, skilled, and entertaining. Sadly, I didn't get my "designated" bartender's name, but I loved the personal touch he gave in serving customers. All the staff, from the doors to wait staff, were really professional and friendly. There's a cloakroom for checking items at a current cost of £5. They use a ticket-less method, which is good because a great night usually means things go missing. The last thing you want to lose during the winter (or third winter in Scotland) is your coat. The inside of the building is so cool! The neon vibes and artwork were really fun. There's the main floor and then you can go upstairs to the ball pit area (a must!) or balcony (with tables and space to look over). No drinks are allowed in the ball pit, which is a plus. They avoid having sticky, smelly balls 🤭🤦🏾‍♀️ for customers to deal with. I will definitely be back for one of the clubs next events!

Loved the ball pit! The only thing is that the ball pit looks much larger in photos than in person. And if you are going at the weekend, it might be pretty crowded. But still fun!

Went here on Saturday night and was quiet disheartened with the place. Not what I expected from the advisements I had seen. Ball pit didn't feel clean and there was a bad smell in the room, I had seen videos on social media of them cleaning the ball pit but don't know how often this is actually done. Facilities weren't clean and staff were a bit too friendly with some girls. I'll give credit where credit is due though, the staff did get the place going and joined in by dancing on the bar. I wouldn't recommend and I wouldn't go back, wasn't worth the money I spent on the ticket. Hopefully this review can help the venue improve.

Good fun good cocktails the ball pit is so much fun

I had never been before, but heard amazing things about here. It’s a perfect place for people who aren’t too keen on nightclubs, but want to go somewhere that they can dance, have a drink, and have some fun. Akane was absolutely amazing, she made sure that we were having a good time, very attentive to us, was very kind, smiley and was very efficient in bringing our drinks. Top service from her!!

Did not order food so gave it a 5 star to be fair as had food there in the past and it was great. Ballies is a place I have been many times and is probably the closest I have to a regular haunt but not anymore after tonight's NYE party. As a male, I get that we should probably be used to male bar staff prioritising females over males at the bar despite who has been waiting longest. That said, it's not right and it's certainly not right when two bar staff flagrantly do so repeatedly all the while making eye contact with you multiple times and then, when you finally challenge them, they say they didn't see you - complete lie! I am a 5"10 fairly big lad and far exceeded the height and width of those multitudes served before me who happen to be fairly petite women. To say you didn't see me but somehow managed to see the coincidentally exclusively female customers served before me is an odd excuse and smacks of favouritism. Nevermind that, when you actually get a drink, the cocktails were full price despite advertising them at a fiver, there were no glitter artists to be seen and probably the icing on the cake was that the shots promised for midnight were on display for all to tamper with/lace should they be so inclined. Really disappointed and left before midnight having barely been able to enjoy more than 2 drinks the whole night. Massive waste of money and time!

I went with my three other friends on 17/12/23. It has fun and quirky ambiance but serving of all the food we ordered took AN HOUR before it was served. Not only that, one of the staffs tried to kick us out despite telling him, we’re waiting for our orders. He said, they needed the table. Surprise surprise, we have to talk to someone else to verify this. We sat on unreserved table and I don’t think it’s alright to displace customer when you haven’t been served yet. Overall experience was meh Ambiance was cool. I guess, it was crowded especially during weekend.

Had a fantastic time having a few drinks and playing in the ball pit. What a wild experience!! We lost a phone during the excitement and the manager, Duncan, went above and beyond to ensure it was returned to us. He went into the ball pit himself to help us find the phone. 10/10 service from everyone!

Quite unique for a bar/club. Took a long time to get our coats back. But fun, if you like slides, ball pits and getting drunk.

We booked just ball pit tickets and it was fun and all but next time I 100% will be buying seating tickets. We didn't have any food there but iv gave it 4 stars because some of the drinks we ordered weren't too nice. They looked great!! But not what I was expecting. The music was amazing! Will definitely be back with table tickets!
