Baldock Grill in North Hertfordshire

I suspect this has been taken over as last two orders, lots of changes and drop in quality. Tonight’s order was inedible. Stale pitta, meat was pale, tasteless and resembled anything but lamb. Chilli sauce not as good. Will not be ordering from here again.

Should be renamed Baldock best kebab, one of the tastiest shish kebabs I’ve ever had. Chunky marinated chicken and sweet salad. Enjoyed by all the family.

Sorry I have reviewed here before with 5 stars and a recommendation to eat but tonight you fell short I ordered of Uber eats and couldn’t see what I was ordering My fault but thought a special burger was more than a thin burger and dinner meat I was expecting a SPECIAL burger I had no salad but wasn’t given the option £8 and still hungry and a whole burger in the bin Guys speak to Uber and get pics up because that really spoilt my night When I ordered in store I chose salad a sauce you even threw olives on my burger but online I’m gutted

Had a Lamb Shish today. I felt I was in the way. But I guess doing this job 24/7 might be tough. The Lamb shish two bits of meat. Rest was grizzled. And not cheap. Never again

Just had a large chick shish kebab and my wife had a chick shish wrap. They where excellent best kebab I've had for a long while.

Sons said I should rate 4 stars. Good portion sizes

Great place, very clean and good customer service. One of the best lamb shish I have ever had. Meats could be a bit less salty for my taste. Some more consistency with chips would be great too, sometimes they are amazing, crispy and not greasy and sometimes they are a bit soggy.

Good food but no difference between large and XL. Just ripping people off.

Used these good folks plenty of times. Everytime is always amazing. For the first time we did have an issue and not only did they sort it, they did it quickly, professionally, and deliciously. We need more places like Baldock Grill cause even on a busy night they make the customer feel like royalty. Smashing job folks, 100% always coming to you guys.

Decent kebabs just hit of miss chips! It seems not many places put TLC into the chips even KFC don't! The rest is great 👍

I went here last night had a kebab and potion chips I must say it was the best kebab I have had in a long while was freshly cooked wasn’t over cooked or undercooked like other places the service was 10/10 staff are friendly and didn’t have to wait to long for the food would highly recommend

There are two types of kebab shop. Ones that cook on charcoal, and ones that don't. This ones cooks on charcoal and the taste is sensational, love it.

Order on line should've been here at 7.15 had to ring at 7.45 was on its way arrived o salad or garlic mayo phoned up said they would send out straight away 8.40 still not got so no point as food eaten worst time ever have used this place so many times so will be looking elsewhere for my kebab .

Partners kebab was good, my burger was ok HOWEVER 'portion of humous', £4 for a pot of plain from Tesco, still in its supermarket packaging!? Also fries were super soggy for being wrapped in 1980s pink polystyrene, really disappointing for the price and how nearby we live / how little it needed to travel.

Overall it is a great kebab spot with fresh wraps great doner kebabs and quick delivery 👍

Ordered combo Kofte and Doner meat was hard to the point of being crisp no taste ordered Garlic Sauce not included no Salad Chips were nice Kofte should be juicy n succulent very disappointed waste of £15

Was impressed with the service. The food was made fresh while I watched/waited and while not rushed did not take long to make lovely fresh food. I was asked about what I wanted with my food and what salad/source I wanted. They also have a nice range of sides or little extras you could add to you meal. Like cheesy chips and so on. They are polite and helpful, so I would happily ask if I had a question or was after a special order.

Average to above Average Quality for a kebab shop, but expensive to have rice instead of chips. Friendly and quick service late into the evening. Committed staff. Good range on the menu. This is a properly based kebab House, not a van.

I’ve ordered delivery from here twice now and both times they’ve forgotten my salad and just given me plain chicken in a box which most definitely wasn’t what I asked for at all. They sent someone to fix it but turned up still with no salad at all but only 2 sauces like it was a joke. Waste of money ordering from here. Service is awful.

So me and my friends went here and the food was DECENT but the wait was half and hour so the person who worked here sat down after making the burger for 5 mins and he forgot the chips that we ordered

I went here today the food was great but I waited 30 minutes for chips and a small burger if your impatient its not recemended they even forgot my chips at the end!

Canceled my just eat order 30 minutes later with no explanation, so gotta re order from another restaurant Definitely won't be ordering again from them

I received a scam phonecard from this company and number pretending to be Carphone warehouse, when I called back to see if it was the same place I heard the same background noise and as soon as I mentioned it the guy on the other end just went silent. this company seems to be run by someone whos happy to scam customers and won't be seeing service from me anytime soon.

Have been here a lot of times it's usually average at best, not the best quality and have also had stuff missing from orders, it's slowly going downhill.

Great kebabs the chefs special which is Lamb and Chicken shish , kofte , and lamb doner comes with rice grilled vegetable ans salad Is a belly buster of a meal . Ordered direct off website as Just eat doesn't seem to have that meal. . Had grilled chicken wings and hummus and everything was well cooked and delivered hot.Only waited about 35 mins for delivery which was earlier than expected.Have tried a few other places which are more expensive and not as good , so we will be sticking with the Baldock grill.

Just wanted to do a massive shout out to Baldock Grill tonight. I ordered and paid online so easy! It was ready spot on time everything I ordered was perfect and generous portions especially of the vegetables which are my favourite! And when collecting they gave Violet a Ribena which absolutely made her night. I highly recommend the food and the service and the friendly staff.

Just had the most amazing chicken sheesh kebab....my first under the new management! I don’t know what they did to the red cabbage but it tasted amazing as did the whole meal! Long may it last!

To start with a positive, the donner meat was warm and ok. I asked for mayo and chilli sauce and got next to nothing on the kebab. The pitta bread was hard and crusty. The salad was ok to be fair. The chicken shish was cold like fridge cold, it was crunchy!!! I almost gagged on it. Stupidly I tried a second piece and actually gagged. From friends, I had heard good things about this place however I won’t be going back, absolutely rank.

To call it a kebab shop would be doing it injustice. Yes it does your classic donnar, but where its speciality lies is in its meat cooked over a charcoal grille. Pre order or just turn up, first class service.

Been here after the pub, sober just wanting a n . Queue went quite quickly. Bit greasy food did look def on kebab. Staff Turkish n can be friendly but they do stare at the ladies which is bit creepy. No where to park outside. Not good for disabled access as the place is tiny where u have to stand. Prices are average so is there food. I now give it wide berth.as food ain't that great there always give me upset tummy.

Ordered over the phone, 1 of the 3 kebabs was wrong and no salad on any of the kebabs, just a box of meat with pitta bread. Wont be going back.

Ordered a chicken kebab all all I got was a small box of chicken in a tub!!! They then refused to make it right by delivering the right thing, horrendous customer service would not recommend these to anyone

The food from this place is great, no complaints there. The meat is succulent and well cooked, and the salads are crisp and fresh. The only thing that stops Baldock Grill getting 5 stars all day is the rude staff. It’s such a shame as they’ve done all the hard work but fail on such an easily delivered part of service. Example, they rarely greet anyone with anything but an expectant stare, they don’t routinely put napkins or forks out (you have to ask) and they never say thanks. They also, don’t accept cards, not a criticism as each to their own but bear this in mind when visiting. I do visit this place a few times a year as the food is excellent but I do begrudge giving money to seemingly rude people. Id go more often but it has become a place of last resort now as they wind me up.

I always thought they were good, until they were rude on the phone. I ended up walking half a mile before getting a taxi home, only to realise they had only given me a box of some meat and nothing else. Rung up and got rude staff who chatted amongst themselves rather then talking to me. They are very rude in person and tried nothing to make amends. The rudeness from staff is hurtful.

Brilliant fresh food cooked spot on, good choice of foods on the menu, the wraps I'd highly recommend 😁👌🏻 order over the phone or online. Only thing I'd say to bare in mind, is theres no options for small portions, everything starts as a medium portion but to be honest the portion sizes are nice enough to still give it 5*.

What we really love about this place is that they will serve everything separately, i.e. the meat, the salad, dressings and most importantly the pitta bread (no soggy bread for us!). The standard of the food has always been high and we simply won't go anywhere else.

Quite pricey for a rather mediocre kebab.

I have visited this establishment just twice and each occasion has been less than joyful. The staff seem resentful of serving you so I'm not sure why they are in business. They got my order wrong and could barely even be bothered to tell me when it was ready. I won't be spending my money with them again.

We went for a family dinner. The ambience is lovely, the recommendations very good, the food is superb and the staff very helpful and friendly. We will be back there very soon!!!
