Balans Soho Society in Hammersmith and Fulham

Sadly, as I was a reasonably frequent Balans guest, I am compelled to write a bad review. Cocktails were fabulicios, but alas, that is where the fabulous ended. The menu seems reduced, so we picked bites and sides; croquettes, mac cheese, chicken strips and skin on chips. These I sum up as cold, cold, burned and old. We watched the burned chicken, croquettes and chips in the windows for at least 15 minutes so they were stone cold, even the dishes, when we eventually persuaded the hard pushed waiter to bring g them to us. The chicken was black in places; however, the most inexcusable was the chips. No skin and very old. When I say old, the potatoes had clearly been cooked once and left for a day or two to go grey and powdery. Whether they were fried again on the day I do not know as they too, were cold. All in all, for £127, we had six cocktails and the disappointment of having to order a pizza when we got home. Really disappointing, as Balans used to he a bit if a staple of mine and only ten minutes away. Sorry, Balans, once loved, but from now on forgotten. I recommend the Bull next door feom now on.

Having eaten at Balan’s over in Stratford last year, we decided to eat brunch at Balan’s at Westfield Shepherd’s Bush. Friendly and efficient service, with a good choice on the menu, we opted for the full breakfast and a cheese omelette, adding bacon to the latter. Both meals were freshly cooked to order and were high quality, coffee and orange juice were both good too. Prices were typical of the city. Wouldn’t hesitate to call again.

Yesterday me and my girlfriend came for the first time for breakfast, my girlfriend order a poach eggs on toast, the eggs came overcooked , and they give us a new one , that’s okey the order was eggs on toast with avocado, which the avocado came on the side alone pice everything was separate not put together! Very disappointing because was so expensive with no quality to it , we were expecting some of the prices to be takeout because of the overcooked eggs like a compliment just the coffee or something but nothing, well unfortunately they won’t be a next time !

Service was really poor. Sat at table with no drink or any service for at least 10 minutes. Watched a couple and a group of 4 come in and walk to the bar after 10 minutes. Not enough staff!

Visited this spot with some friends for drinks. The cocktails were great however what made the experience 10/10 was the EXCEPTIONAL Zak who served us. He was absolutely amazing, attentive, friendly and we really enjoyed our time there because of him!!!! Will definitely be back for drinks and the amazing service!!!

Popped in here for brunch, lovely food. Had the eggs Benny with bacon and the courgette and corn fritters with hummus, both were delicious. Would definitely recommend.

We arrived at Balans and Zac was exceptional . He was so nice and friendly we were pleasantly surprised to find such great service and food . My 2 friends and I chose Balans Westfield for our annual Christmas get together and booked a table for 18.00 on Friday 9th. The friend who had booked online had had a problem with their site regarding the pre order requirements-of the restaurant-so had rung...

Popped in on way back from day out in London(parked in Westfields all day £8.50) Balans was about half full so decided to give it a go. Nice warm welcome. Invited to choose a table. Menu was nice and not too expansive. A separate drinks...

I felt so sorry for the waiters and waitresses, too few staff for numbers of customers. Waited 25 mins to be served, when my food arrived it was stone cold, asked for it to be reheated not replaced....then waited a further 15 mins for it...

My partner and I visit Balans most weekends when we’re walking through Westfield. The service is always so friendly and the food/cocktails never disappoint (especially the Kentucky Kiss.) Special shout-out to the wonderful male server who always makes a visit feel extra special. Not sure...

Staff were friendly enough but the quality of the food was very poor - of particular note were the stale and crumby buns on burgers, and cold, limp french fries. We shall not be back.

Absolutely terrible experience here whereby I ordered a meal upon confirming I have a bad dairy intolerance. My meal arrived with a massive dollop of sour cream in the middle and unknowingly I ate a bit as both the waiter knew not to serve me...

I do not understand how chefs can be so bad when table service is so good. I ordered one dish - pan fried cod with lentils and veg juice. Lentils - cold, chef didn't even bother to heat it up, veg cold, cod - raw...

La comida era aceptable, cara sí, pero sabrosa.La higiene era inexistente. El personal claramente estaba recogiendo la vajilla usada y colocándola en el fregadero. A esto le siguió el servicio de bebidas y comida. ¡Cero lavado de manos en el medio! ! ! ! Con la actual pandemia de Covid en vigor, por favor explique qué capacitación ha realizado su personal y cómo se está revisando.

Valor muy pobre. Pedí la langosta Benedict, recibí cáscara de langosta y no mucho más, ¡menos de un bocado! Ni el personal verifica la calidad antes de entregársela al cliente. Vio al personal recoger bandejas, vasos, etc. sucios y luego recoger comida cocida con las manos esperando en el pase.

Nuestra primera salida dadas las circunstancias actuales, y el restaurante estaba realmente limpio y espaciado con desinfectante en la entrada. El interior es hermoso y realmente relajante para ese desayuno / brunch matutino. ¡Me alegro de que Balans se haya abierto de nuevo! el lugar al que debe ir si se siente un poco peor por usarlo un sábado por la mañana. Después de unos deliciosos huevos Benedict y un fuerte Bloody Mary ¡me sentí renacido! ! Sin mencionar el excelente personal que es tan acogedor.

My friend barely finished her order of the Society Burger, and I felt full with my order of Cod. The side dish of kale was average. Service was friendly and informed. Interiors were clean. This restaurant makes for a nice lunch venue with friends or family.

Lo pasamos de maravilla en Balan's para el sábado todo el día desayuno inglés, este lugar nunca nos decepciona. El personal siempre es amable y se adapta a cualquier solicitud especial que hayamos tenido. He estado aquí un par de veces para el desayuno y, a veces, solo para panqueques, antes de comenzar a comprar en Westfields. Hermosos panqueques con bayas o plátano o ambos. La comida y el servicio encantador nos hace visitar de nuevo.

Desayuno encantador, lo recomiendo encarecidamente, le hubiera dado 5 de 5 si no hubiéramos tenido que perseguir nuestras bebidas, pero la comida era increíble.

No entiendo cómo los chefs pueden ser tan malos cuando el servicio de mesa es tan bueno. Pedí un plato: bacalao frito con lentejas y jugo de verduras. Lentejas - frías, el chef ni siquiera se molestó en calentarlas, verduras frías, bacalao crudo. Por el amor de Dios - para ir f. . . Chef de la escuela! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Realmente recomendaría a todos que eviten este lugar.

Sunday 15th Sept We arrived at the restaurant at 1.30pm for a Sunday roast, before I go further with this, the roast chicken was great, the food was tasty! But the service was the worst I have every experience in any restaurant. No interaction from the servicing staff, no smile as she couldn’t care about anything. I understand if the restaurant was busy, but it wasn’t, then you have staff with mobile phone on their back pocket and when they get a chance they will start texting on their phone, water delivered to the table just left glasses and bottle on the table, pulsing even care to offer to pour it. Worst part is.. the manager who was wearing a red shirt, he watched us walking out of the restaurant, couldn’t even have the manner to say “thank you” or “good bye”. Balans, this is awful experience and also if your manager at the restaurant is behaving this way, how can your staff be motivated or even learn how to care for your customers.

Yesterday I visited Bill's restaurant in "White City Westfield" and I had a vegetarian breakfast with sparkling water. The food was fantastic but what really impressed me was the service, especially from one of the waitresses named Nilam, she was very attentive and she has a great personality which makes you feel comfortable. Nilam was friendly, polite, very professional and very good at her job which I can tell she takes very seriously. Overall she delivered a service with perfection and I was very pleased.

There was a great selection of cocktails, so much so that my friend and I ended up getting two of practically each! The two gentlemen (didn’t get their names) who served us were welcoming and delightful to talk to, as opposed to other branches of Balans Soho Society (in particular, High Street Kensington). Highly recommend this branch!

The service here makes the experience.My wife enjoyed her red curry, hovered I chose to go all traditional and have the fish and chips probably not wise given my fishing port background, with fresh caught fish available. However it was okay, just not great. The serving was ample and the accompaniments were good. The menu was accompanied with a good well priced drinks list All in all a reasonable experience made good by the service

Went to Balans at Westfield for a birthday dinner. The waiter who was looking after us was absolutely lovely - really friendly and helpful. The cocktail choice is really good and broad. The food menu is ok, there’s enough to choose from but it’s pretty average - other than the red curry and the burger which are good. I had the fish and chips, the fish was alright but the chips were basically non-crispy roast potatoes that were luke-warm. There’s both inside and outside space and they are happy if you want to come for just drinks. Personally I’d recommend it as somewhere for a few cocktails before or after dinner - but with so many food options to choose from around there I’d look elsewhere for the meal.

Spending to much time in Westfield shopping always leaves us needing refreshments, without a doubt this is the best place to go , the manager is so friendly, professional and friendly , always trying to make sure everything is to your satisfaction. We regularly pick a selection of the tapas meals , all of them are tasty , well presented and good sized portions. Breakfast , lunch or dinner they always deliver here

I wouldn’t have thought that sea bass would come on a soupy dish that tastes horrible, with uncooked mushrooms and other stuff. Fish was so thin and over cooked, didn’t feel like I’ve eaten a fish. Even though I could get a piece it was dropping into the very watery dish. Don’t eat this at all!

Always loved going there it's like being at home. Even if the staff isnt the same for the past 7 years they always made us feel so comfortable. The eggs Benedict are the best you can get in London and they are very consistent with that !

First time we visited this place and this is never gonna happen again. The Service provided was not great at all. We found the jokes from the waiter very offensive as he kept on repeating how not masculine the drinks that we ordered were when we are a gay couple. Is this a problem in 2019? It could be funny once, but not through the time we were there. When we asked for the Bill And ask for the Service charge to be removed, the waiter passed us the credit Card machine in a very rude way.

La primera vez que visité tuve una experiencia encantadora y me sentí muy feliz cuando entré recientemente y tenían una mesa disponible. La comida fue absolutamente asquerosa esta vez, elegí la langosta Benedict como la había probado antes y estaba deliciosa. Esta vez, la langosta se presentó en la cáscara entre las dos rebanadas de muffin que antes de ser descascarada y apilada encima de la muffin, que era más fácil de comer. Le pedí cortésmente al camarero que me sacara la langosta, ya que no lo había experimentado anteriormente. Le precedió a llevar el plato al chef y le pidió que lo hiciera en polaco con un tono en su voz. Soy polaco y pude entender completamente lo que se decía, lo cual no era de ninguna manera profesional. Cuando me presentaron la langosta me quitaban la cáscara, me sorprendió lo pequeña que era la cantidad y la calidad (no se había limpiado correctamente). Intenté picar y la consistencia era viscosa, la salsa holandesa era bastante líquida. y los huevos escalfados fueron recocidos. ¡Toda la combinación me hizo sentir bastante náuseas! Me di cuenta también de que faltaba el tocino que me fue traído rápidamente y caliente. Solo pude comer la mitad del panecillo y el tocino cuando comencé a sentir que iba a vomitar.

Food was awful service Ok. Half the menu was off and tried to pass my husband off with a beer he hadn't ordered.

Situado en la entrada del centro comercial Westfield es una opcion buena y no muy cara para comer bien. Los platos estan bien de cantidad y bastante buenos.

I have tried the Balans in Soho and in Kensington a few year ago and I had a good memory about both places, in terms of space design and food.

This was the first time i have eaten at this restaurant. The food choices under the tapas menu was wide ranging. I went with the Seared Scallops, Lamb neck and Cauliflower Risotto,each dish was delicious!. I will definately be back.

We ended up visiting this place 4 times in our three day stay - and it was all due to the service! Lovely seating outside with the heaters, great waiters and waitress and good food and drink for a good price! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Westfield, be it for just a rest stop or for dinenr you won't be disappointed!

Enjoyed a lovely brunch here today with some girl friends. The waiter was very attentive, service was a little slow as it was quite busy but the strong coffee and yummy eggs on toast made up for it. Would definitely come back again!

Stopped in for drinks after an afternoon in Westfield. Great atmosphere and friendly service so ended up staying for supper. Great bottle of Merlot and recommend the quesadilla. Will visit again and prices were not too expensive like some of the surrounding venues.

El proceso de reserva fue fácil de hacer, habían atendido todos nuestros requisitos, ¡incluso nos proporcionaron galletas de Navidad! A pesar de que vinimos durante el período de mayor actividad, no nos empujaron por el tiempo y nos permitieron disfrutar de nuestro tiempo a gusto. Balans is my favourite go to place when shopping at Westfield’s! The food and service is always on point. The menu is fairly standard and the staff are always really helpful.

Really great breakfast here one Sunday morning. Great tea too. Tables too squished in together is the only complaint.

I love Balans,any time of the day! Surprisingly I have never tried their Sunday roast - I loved it! And I am coming back for more . Very nice and friendly service - very recommended !

Great place to go for drinks and chill/catching-up with friends. They have a simple food menu and not filling portions. Great for if you don’t have much of an appetite, but not for if you’re hungry.

Decidimos ir a tomar un desayuno Balans con un amigo que no había visto en un par de años. Pedí el desayuno salmón ahumado. Lo que me dieron fue 1 rodaja de salmón ahumado (parecía que los huevos de un supermercado), tostadas frías y tibia sosa apenas truncó de aguacate. Era mediocre y la presentación era terrible! Hago una versión mucho mejor de la misma comida en casa!

Nosotros somos visitantes habituales de varios de los restaurantes así que fuimos a este balans uno para una comida. Después de pedir una hamburguesa Balans, a su llegada fue en el mejor de los casos. Tan caliente que a partir de la segunda mitad fue muy fría. Nadie nos preguntó cómo son buenas fue hasta mi compañero había terminado su comida. Después de mi respuesta de "frío", el camarero hizo subir a un superior. Él se disculpó por la comida, y después ofrece aceitunas y pan, que rechacé, él quitó el burger de la factura. Aparecerá el pedir un postre con plátano y toffee, me presentó una tarta. . ! Basta decir que fue devuelto, junto con una negativa a pagar el servicio como me pareció que había recibido escaso en el mejor de los casos. No volveremos a esta rama de nuevo y sugerimos que parece Bali Balan en el servicio de atención al cliente aquí bastante estrechamente.

Tuvimos brunch aquí un sábado. Tuve los huevos de langosta Benedicto. Sin embargo, los sabores trabajó muy bien la langosta era cocidas, los huevos estaban aguados y el otro era completamente sobre hecho.

this should have been better. i've eaten breakfast there 3 times. on the second visit the manager asked my opinion and i told him what needed to be done to make it a better experience but a month later nothing had changed. sour dough bread makes shrapnel like toast [and there should always be 2 slices not 1]. barely a teaspoon of baked beans is not a portion and a stem of basil on top of breakfast with no side plate to put it on is irritating. quality of produce good.there's not enough on plate to justify price.
