A walk in Bristol on a very sunny and warm day led us around a favourite area: the city-centre harbourside. This was followed by an uphill climb to the Clifton/Cotham area. There are many eateries up here in this vibrant, mainly residential, area. As we walked towards Blackboy Hill, we found that we were about 45mins earlier than our reservation at a restaurant that was only 10mins walk away. So, we decided to call-in here to sit awhile and have some refreshing drinks. My Partner decided on an elderflower and cucumber cordial, and I chose an Americano coffee with hot milk. I went to the servery and queued to place our order from the very helpful waitperson. Whilst I was waiting, I couldn’t help but notice the array of suitably impressive snacks and finger-food that was on offer. There were pastries, cakes, rolls, sandwiches and toasties, but I particularly noticed the very appealing Pork and Fennel Sausage Rolls. They looked absolutely delicious and I love the flavour of fennel; so much so that I just had to try one. I requested that the sausage roll should be cut into 4 pieces so I could offer my Partner the chance to try some too. This wasn’t a problem and the sausage roll and our drinks were soon brought to our table. The sausage roll was wonderful, cooked so that the flaky pastry was properly flaky and the sausage meat was pink and moist, with the delightful flavour of fennel. My Partner couldn’t resist the temptation despite the impending lunch that we were on our way to at a nearby restaurant. My coffee was too hot to drink immediately, I did sip it and was initially a bit disappointed with the flavour. I let it cool a bit and then I was rewarded with a good burnt caramel taste. My Partner really enjoyed her cordial which certainly tasted of strong elderflower with a distinct cucumber tang. The rest was welcome as we sat a while, I noted the fresh baked sourdough loaves were very popular. There was an eclectic mix of customers and it was pleasant to sit awhile and enjoy the cosy atmosphere. We will return.

Good quality but ridiculously expensive. We bought 3 cakes for £7.50. They were really good. Went back a couple of days later for one pain au Chocolat and was charged £3.50. I was so surprised I just paid. This was ridiculously expensive.

Very cute coffee shop gets quite busy but it is very nice - quite pricey but worth it I would say. Would go again!! Lovely place

We visited on Sunday 3rd December for brunch and we were excited as the atmosphere and menu were both great. Unfortunately that was were the good experience ended. The ham hock potato stack was very disappointing when it arrived and it was tasteless and dry. The mushrooms on sourdough dish was tasty but the bread was so hard it was inedible and my side of bacon for £2 was 2 tiny fatty hard bits of bacon 🥲. We had cakes after and again they were dry and very underwhelming. The service was terrible with us having to clear our own plates and the ordering system was cumbersome and lengthy. Would I go back or recommend? Simple answer - No.

This is my 1st review on Trip Advisor. It was such bad service that I was prompted to make the account and write here. I had a rude lady on the till, and when she served food, she was very unenthusiastic and impolite in her manners. no thank you, you're welcome, no smile. very rude and abrupt in her responses. Good food but such a shame how my partner and I were treated.

Working local, I have been here before for coffee and cakes and enjoyed it every time apart from customer service this morning. I was queuing inside to buy a coffee, waiting to be served for 5 minutes, the majority of time I was the only person waiting and the small girl with dark hair proceeded to serve someone else and looked at me directly in my eyes and then back to customer they were serving. Without saying a word. With attitudes like this from your staff I won’t come back here again.

I went here specifically for th bacon roll and coffee morning deal as it was advertised on a blackboard outside, when I went to order I was told they had run out of bread, they're a bakery FFS!

Baked food tastes great and coffee is excellent, but why serve it in a plastic cup and food without plates?

Stopped for a quick breakfast this morning - unreal cinnamon roll and a really tasty matcha latte. Tiniest bit on the pricey side but from what I can understand the bakes are fresh so not a problem. Could do with opening the upstairs seating as it was a bit busy but we *just* managed to get seated. Friendly service too!

Service is friendly but lazy. In their time.. no sense of customer . This is a theme. They don’t bake bread on a Monday which is odd for a bakery additionally turn up 5 mins before opening time (through open Doors and the signs are out) but can’t get served. (There wasn’t any bread out anyway which was worrying on a Saturday morning) Shame.. the products are great

Service not very good. Not clear whether food is being served or not, not clear on menu. door wide open. Freezing cold in there. Forgot parts of the order. If you're eating in you freeze, sitting down at tables with takeaway coffee cups and no plates for food. Won't be back. Food good.

We grabbed a quick coffee that day passing by Bakesmiths. Their takeaway counter was on the street separately which was super convenience coz you do not have to go into the store! The sourdoughs looked extremely yum too~ On that week, they were featuring Guest Roast of Clifton Coffee Roasters. We ordered flat white and latte. The kenya blend was extremely rich in aroma with smooth mouthful! Temperature was right at the time on windy weather~

Have come here on numerous occasions to grab a snack and have thoroughly enjoyed it every time! The staff are so lovely and welcoming and are always happy to help! There is also a great selection of vegan cakes too, which I really appreciate!

After a good welcome, sat downstairs for quick snack on a Sunday morning. Service good but not rushed, excellent baps with bacon and great coffee even out of takeaway cartons due to current Covid restrictions. Home made tomato ketchup garnished to bacon roll.
