Baker & Spice - Belgravia in City of London, Westminster

After being pleased to see that Baker & Spice are now open in the evenings, I was excited to visit and try their new a la carte menu. The food, service and ambience did not disappoint. There was a great atmosphere and I was well looked after by the team. We shared the tuna, meatballs, flatbread and fish and chips 'Belgravia style'. The new wine selection is interesting and unusual, and I can't wait to return and try more of their new offering.

I took a family member for a special breakfast and was told 15 min after placing our order that two options were not available. If we wanted one of the options then they would have to go out and buy it ! Having reordered, the food (cereal and yogurt) took over half an hour to arrive and although the waitress was apologetic the rest of the staff were not phased at all. On top of that the meal was expensive. There are better places to have breakfast, avoid this one.

Orders cocked up, a/c unit blocking the way to the seating area, half a tomato on the stairs, low hanging heavy lampshades causing near injuries

The service here was very very slow. Personally, I prefer a more laid back approach to serving food rather than those places where your order’s delivered so quickly you feel you’re being rushed. This place, though, is way too slow. After 20 minutes, I explained to the waiter that - although It was reasonable to wait for the food to be cooked - he should at least bring my drink. After another wait my pot of tea eventually arrived. The food (only scrambled eggs on toast!) was served nearly three quarters of an hour after I’d ordered. There was another long wait when I asked for the bill which was eventually delivered by another member of staff who left what she was doing to bring it to me when she realised how long I’d been waiting.

Polite friendly staff and refreshing glass of wine outside in the sunshine after work. Great way to wind the day down.

I went for brunch today and had a brilliant experience. The outside area is perfect for enjoying brunch in the sunshine and watching the world go by. Food was delicious, I'll definitely be back!

Food service was really slow, and it was quiet so goodness knows why. How long does it take to poach eggs? A table nearby sat with used plates etc on it for over 45mins. Likewise when the next table exited their dirty plates didn't get taken away - 20mins! And the place wasn't busy either. It used to be a great place, but Gail's and other similar places are quite literally eating their breakfast.

The revamped baker spice has more seatings outside but the menu has got smaller and portions also smaller. It is still a pleasant place for a breakfast or a light lunch.

We arrived for breakfast and ordered drinks and then the server never came back to take our food order! Despite taking a couples food order who were sitting behind us who arrived 15 mins after us, we went inside to order. we ordered breakfast and tea with soy milk. Tea came and it was with normal cows milk. I asked for sugar - it never came. The breakfast came and to be fair it was really nice! It was £50 for two orange juices, a late, an English breakfast and avacado on toast. Nice food but the service was sooo bad.

Freshly made, colourful and nutritious. Simple ingredients made interesting, nothing pretentious about this place.

Came for late breakfast brunch and superficially looks lovely but experience was poor service and food was below average Sent my Eggs Benedi t back die to hard boiled eggs and returns with replacement which was COLD Ordered porridge with fruit and seeds and this came without and had to wait over 10mins for fruit and seeds to be served

Reopened with some outdoor seatings and a larger menu. The breakfast and brunch offerings are great, creative and lots to choose from. Portions are smaller than before but adequate. A great neighbourhood brunch staple.

A pretty cafe with a manager who knows what he’s doing. However the rest of the staff appear to have never worked before ! Bitter coffee from a machine that needs a clean and the ‘pistachio cake filled with cream’ turned out to be a wafer thin sliver of tough banana cake with a claggy white filling that had never seen a dairy. Most tables were served glasses of tap water but when I asked for water I was brought (and charged for) a plastic bottle. There are many better places on the same street.
