Had the white chocolate cookies... unbelievable. How the chocolate stays melted at room temperature is beyond me, absolutely gorgeous!

I went to this quaint coffee shop for a scone and a coffee. absolutely amazing scone never had one like that in my life. It feels like a family establishment and I ended up speaking to other customers. I felt at home and I noticed all the cakes were homemade and my god you can taste the difference. Can't wait to go back next week for my scone and cheesecake

We were looking for a light lunch in South Shields close to the hospital area , so searched google & found this lovely little place by chance and we were very happy with the results! Free street parking outside, proper home made food that we like to call " made with love" by the 2 lovely, friendly & helpful girls who run it. We thoroughly enjoyed our own order ( photos provided ) but salivated over everything we saw coming out in other orders! We chatted to locals who highly recommended the full English breakfasts & saw customers come in for the afternoon tea, which looked amazing with gorgeous scone options like chorizo, red onion & red Leicester cheese to choose from. At only £13.50pp with unlimited tea/coffee you can understand why it apparently won the best Afternoon tea in South Shields last year! Our order was 2 pots of tea, a prawn plate salad, a cheese & onion toastie & side salad with crisps, a millionaires shortbread & lemon & white chocolate sweet scone with cream & lemon curd only came to £19.90...unbelievable value! On a non food related note... It has a disabled access toilet & baby changing station, where they even supply small nappies & wipes, bless them . Apparently Village delights are ranked 3rd highest coffee shop by trip advisor but in our eyes it's definitely number 1 and we look forward to returning next time we are in the area.

Was having anxiety issue as couldn't remeber pin on card and the boss was exceptional...said he'd pay for my breakfast and ferry back.I was really upset and his rapport was heartfelt.I however was able to pay as went to bank. The bosses rapport was up and beyond his job role. The food is always first class and you never have to wait long also very reasonable I would highly recommend it.A big thanks to the boss,I've just retired after 44years working as a staff nurse nhs and we could do with people like the boss. Keep up excellent work.
