Bagel Factory in Edinburgh, City of

Had a little wander around Edinburgh last week and before heading home, we stopped by Bagel Factory to get some of their scrummy snacks ~ 🌟 We had the Reuben Pastrami (Pastrami, Sauer Kraut, Emmenthal cheese, mustard) and Salt Beef Melt Bagel (Salt Beef, Emmenthal cheese, gherkins, mustard) paired with a decaf flat white. I've been craving for their bagels ever since I tried them a couple of months ago, luckily their store is accessible and located within the train station (Edinburgh Waverley), an ideal spot to pick up an on-the-go snack. As always, the flavour combos and texture of the bagels were on point and complimented the hearty fillings, such a satisfying afternoon treat - I couldn't recommend them enough!

The food was okay, which allows me to give it two stars. The staff were dreadful. Vegan cream cheese stack came with no cucumber or avocado ( had to ask them to put the avocado on and they had no cucumber. Handed over this meal before they realised there was another bagel on the order, a sausage bagel. Gloves weren't changed between vegan and non vegan bagels. Lacklustre attitude at best.

This used to be one of my treats when I was passing through Waverley. Was looking forward to a bagel and a coffee to sustain me on journey from Edinburgh. 3 staff on duty and no queue - all good so far. However, I have never come across staff with less interest in their potential customers. Rude beyond rude. I won’t be back.

Oops . It’s not a bad review for the product which I have always enjoyed so much I ran up a bakers dozen of bagels . Over the numerous trips through Waverly . I love bagels . Unfortunately the loyalty is not reciprocated as I found out trying to cash in my full loyalty cards for a recent Salt beef bagel . Why do some companies do this ??? Offer a promotion then pull it when the consumer is ready to turn in their end of the deal . Very poor show in a difficult market . It’s Bros for me next time , ps what do I do with these misspent loyalty cards

I ordered the vegan 'bacon', lettuce and tomato, with gherkin slices, and found it very tasty - I had expected it to be adequate, but it was much better than that. Generous amount of filling, and nice to have something warm. It takes a while for your order to be completed, because each is prepared individually. I'll be back. Hash browns were inedibly. Lots of choice here for vegans and vegetarians.

We only briefly stopped here to pick up some brew but it was a friendly experience and we were away and satified quickly

Our train was cancelled, so decided to grab a bite to eat. We decided on Bagel Factory as we had been to a London Bagel Factory years ago and loved them. My partner went for the Salmon & Avocado. She said it was nice and creamy and the salmon worked well with the avocado and cucumber. I went for the Chicken & Avocado. It was a lovely bagel the chicken and avocado worked and the crunch of lettuce made it good, but the mayo made it fantastic. Will definitely come back next time we are in Waverley station.

Picked up a bagel meal deal on the way to get the train home and it was fabulous!! The bagels were made quickly and perfectly! They kept us happy on our 2 hour train journey! Sylvia was professional and speedy! Exactly what we needed!!!

Things you could do with bagels from this establishment. Door stop. Paperweight. Weightlifting set for arms. Would not recommend eatting them unless quite desperate

Had a 9 am train to catch from Edinburgh to York with our two kids. Booked seats on the train with a table between us, so knew we could pick up breakfast prior to boarding and eat it in comfort. Based on TA reviews picked up bagels and coffee here first which worked well. Be warned we couldn’t find this place at first, so asked at the kiosk right nearby and they said they’d never heard of it. It is not far from platform 11.

We love this bagel shop which is right in the heart of Waverley Station. we are very impressed that there is a great choice of bagels and a great choice of fillings for vegetarians and vegans as well as meat eaters. Last week we had superb ones with felafel, salads and jalapenos. The filled bagels are delicious and prices fair. Great to purchase to take on your train journey.

While bagels are the staple in New York City, we were surprised and pleased to be able to find the Bagel Factory. We had to check out of our lodgings without breakfast in order to get to the station and not succumb to the fare offered on the train. The food was prepared to order, it was hot and was tasty.

Such a variety of bagels to try will all different seeded ones. Toasted warm with really tasty fillings

Grabbed a coffee and bagel here on a Saturday morning. It was very busy, but the staff were really efficient. Had Nutella on a plain bagel and a mocha, for £3 ish. Both were nice and perfect for on the go.

Always had a great bagel from here. Tried the new cheeseburger bagel which was amazing. Slowly building up my stamps for here. Always a nice change to having a basic sandwich. I'd recommend to anyone to try. Very efficient at serving.

The best part about this is the fact it is located in the train station. Don't expect amazing customer service - In fact I was only spoken to when the server gave the price of the bagel and that was it. Also as it was just one person working on their own a large queue formed quite quickly. However, it was tasty on my journey home although perhaps not worth the price I paid for it. I would go back again as it was nice and it is very convenient for the train.

I was surprised to read bad reviews of this outlet as we had a delicious lunch from here to take on the train. You chose your own bagel from a good selection (we had sesame and wholemeal) and then choose a combination of fillings from the choice in the counter display. I had a vegetarian variety with humus, avocado, tomato, lettuce and dill pickle. It was fresh and delicious. Salmon, meats, egg and cheeses are also available.I would definitely come here again. It is also extremely convenient, right in the heart of the station.

Recomiendo encarecidamente que evite este particular restaurante de la estación de Waverley. Son lentos (innecesariamente, tengo que añadir) y extremadamente escaso en el departamento de comprensión. Además sus roscas no son aún tan bonita. En general, si estás dispuesto a tolerar la incompetencia y la peor bagels - este lugar está justo en su calle.

For the money it was ok, they have several bagels to choose from and quite a few combinations of breakfast sandwiches. Close to the platforms and pretty satisfying. Good coffee too.

This is a small express outlet operated by one person. She was friendly and fast, and no doubt followed the Bagel factory procedures.I ordered a ham and mozzarella bagel. The bagel was split and toasted. Meanwhile, the ham and mozzarella went into the microwave. The microwave went bing, and the server threw the gooey mess onto the bagel, wrapped it and handed it too me. When I opened it up, the bagel was pretty damp from the steam. The cheese and ham was pretty bland, and I knew that I would have been better off getting something like a Panini in one of the nearby outlets.The coffee was from an automated machine, so I would have chosen tea instead, but that was quite pricey compared to others.All in all pretty disappointing.

One of your staff was standing there licking sauce off her fingers right before she served me my food. It was completely unacceptable and made me feel sick. You can't work in the food industry if you are blatantly violating any standard of food hygiene, especially right in front of customers. Please address this.I would gladly give the name of the person who did this through private communication.

Firstly they do not have any lactose free options that is why I had to make my own Bagel. I had given in my order, took my bagel, and that was that. Or at least thats what I thought. When I went to eat my bagel I noticed there was a filling missing and it was the wrong topping. I didn't have time to go back and complain and I'm not sure if I would revisit.

No need to say much. The bagels in this place remind you of those offered in New York. Wide selection of bagels with rich cream-cheese, smoked salmon and the like. One of the highlights of our Edinburgh stay!

We do not like eating on the run but sometimes work, and in particular, work related travel leaves us no choice. The Bagel Factory is by far the best place we have found to eat a quick meal in or around Waverley Station. Everything is fresh and you can do it "your way". The staff are friendly and very professional in what they do. They even wrap the bagel well so there is no spillage as one runs to the train. We always look forward to eating there and have never had anything but a great bagel sandwich.

I take the train a lot and my guilty pleasure is my nearly daily bagel! Always fast, clean and great. Never been disappointed.

As the trains drinks/food cart was empty by the time it reach my seat I was starving for something to eat. The attendant suggested the Bagel Factory inside the Waverley Train Station. When we got off our platform the Bagel Factory was right in front of us so we gave it a go and we were not disappointed. As we were in Scotland, I had the salmon with cream cheese bagel. Yummy. It was so good that on my return trip home I bought the same again and brought one home to my son!
