Good burgers & fries but be prepared to wait 45+ mins after ordering for food to arrive. Despite making a reservation we also had to wait 10 mins at the door before any staff noticed we had arrived to be seated. Our server was lovely, although forgot to give us a drinks menu which left us a bit confused when it came to ordering. Overall, food was decent - would recommend the katsu fries; but service could be greatly improved.

Ross the manager met my every culinary need, superb service unrivalled by any other burger joint in the area, a life changing delight for all the senses, burger meat was to die for absolutely top notch ingredients, all locally sourced, best burger in the UK? Quite possibly, go in and find out.

Great food, one of the best burgers I have had in a while. I recommend the chicken burger and rocky road milkshake. Staff really friendly and service was fast.

Tried this place at the weekend for the first time. Absolutely lovely burgers. The pulp fiction, Katsu fries and Biscoff milkshake I can highly recommend. My partner enjoyed his chicken run also. Will defo be back when we are next in Edinburgh :)

The humble burger, reliable and sure to satisfy. Not unlike the Hollywood movies this resturaunt's unique menu is inspired by. I opted for the Shining Burger, as a meat free alternative. I was not disappointed. The layers of pulled jackfruit and smashed avocado complemented each other perfectly. The patty was enriched by my choice of side, The delicious cauliflower bites. The experience was hightened by the staff's friendliness and service. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good burger.

I'm from Edinburgh now living in Colorado. I wanted to take my family out for lunch and found Luxford Burgers. Our server was Ross who took care of us so well. He was courteous, helpful and very attentive to add to the fabulous food experience. I got the Leon which was excellent, my wife got the sensational Parasite, my brother and his girlfriend got the Chicken Run, and my sons both got The Highlander. The plates were clean by the time Ross collected them. I would highly recommend anyone local or tourist make the effort to go to the Luxford. A wonderful eating experience that was enhanced by Ross.

Really enjoyed the breakfast club burger with some onion rings, great service. Will be back.

Luxford’s is easily one of the best burger spots in Edinburgh. I had the Highlander burger with their Lux sauce, and it was amazing!! Since I’m a big guy, I also tried the City of the Lost Children, and the mango chutney was a surprisingly great addition. The staff were super friendly, and they even had a vegan option, “The Shining,” which my girlfriend really enjoyed. With so many burger places popping up, Luxford’s feels a bit more special and refined. Definitely a 5-star experience!

Amazing food, definitely recommend to try City of Lost Children (add brie) and Chicken Run (hands down the best chicken burger in Edinburgh). The portion is really generous! The staff were lovely too. I really like the posters around the restaurant, love the twists on different classic movies 👍🏽

Not usually a burger fan but this is one of the best burgers I have had. I had the beef burger & my wife had the chicken one both were big and filling! My wife also had a milk shake which she thought was great! Good food and good service!

So - takeaway. Influenced by reviews and pictures. Schoolboy error. Took over an hour to arrive, the order was wrong, it was lukewarm and was not worth the money spent. If we had paid for a MacDonald, fair enough but we didn’t. Looking at reviews the “good ones” are from some time ago. The ratings need to catch up with reality.

I placed an order, via Flipdish, on the Luxford website at 1730 for a 1920 pick-up. I got to the place, to find that they didn't have the order ready due to printer issues. I had to wait until 1950 to get my order. I felt sorry for the staff who were mega stressed, due to a constant stream of Deliveroo riders demanding their orders, as well as serving diners and my order. The venue itself is quite dark and tired. To me, the place could do with a refresh. Having said that, The main event was the food, which was excellent. I had The Leon burger and my wife had The Italian Job veggie option, with skin-on fries and bacon bits to share. The food was really tasty and was worth the wait. I will definitely back in the future for a sit-in meal.

Food was OK, but let down by woeful service. 20 mins for drinks, then 40 mins for food to come out, and a missing main course item not even delivered by time we'd finished our meal. Covert service charge, which I would not have paid had I been made aware of it. Place was cold with no heating on. I would not recommend, and I would not go back.

Ordered via Deliveroo. Would recommend not to. First time and last time for us. It may be different / better in the actual restaurant but it looks like they care a lot less about online orders and don’t make the effort even though the prices are comparatively expensive. It’s unforgivable really. What you receive will probably bear no resemblance to what’s shown on their website. It’s overpriced - £13 for a Tombstone and this is what you get.

The first time we’ve ordered from Luxford - a Friday night Deliveroo - and thought (hoping) that, because of the prices, they would be really good. Sorry to say, we won’t be ordering again. Hugely disappointing. They were tasty enough (at the very least) but a quite shocking and stark difference between what you see on their website, against what you get, and what fillings are absent. Ridiculous really. Feel a bit cheated. Photo shows their website picture versus what arrives. Laughable. That ‘Tomestone’ burger is £13. Seriously.

Same as others. This place used to be great but most recent order was terrible. Quality was poor, no seasoning whatsoever, missed items from the order, packaging used to be great but now cheap. Can’t understand why you’d put cold drinks in the same bag as hot food resulting with cold food and warm drinks. Still charging exorbitant pricing though for sub par food, quality and service. Avoid

Burger Pattie itself ok but despite not busy (6 people spread over two tables )bun was burnt should have been binned and new made .Chips average and onion rings not crispie at all .Toilet grubby frankly if I had been there 1st I would have left in fact whole place could do with a scrub . Had high hopes based Instagramme posts but never came close to meeting them. Sorry they need to get a grip

Food was absolutely delicious but service was a bit slow. Staff was very friendly but as only one person working there was a bit of a delay. Understandable though. Only thing I wasn’t happy about was the service charge being added to the bill without prior warning.

I've ordered food here because the reviews were so good on deliveroo. The burger was just ok. not good but ok. the parmesan truffle fries were not really good either. The lotus cheesecake was ok. In general it is way overpriced... especially the cake. £7 for a wee piece of cake is too much

We arrived late in the evening at this place, only one table occupied, we thought it was closing, but the waitress was welcoming. We ordered two hamburger sandwiches, yellow fries, a beer and a glass of wine. Very good food, try the barbecue sauce. We paid 53 euros.

We sat in. The burger was coldish the fries overdone. The beefburgers are pretty uncreative/ silmilar to each other. It also is quite expensive since fries and sauces have to be ordered extra. The ambience of the place is pretty awful: the door is always open letting in cold air, delivery drivers standing around, there were cardboard boxes sitting at the entrance, and the bar is cluttered with deliveroo stuff. the glasses were not clean either. The wait for the food was pretty long because so many deliveroos are being prepared and the service was quite slow. They also forgot to bring us part of the order. Everything was a bit of a bummer to be honest. Overpriced for a takeaway and underwhelming as a restaurant.

Ordered a donnie darko burger, chicken was burnt to the point of being inedible as was the bacon. Hallomi fries were mostly popped in the fryer and over cooked. Will not order again

Vegan and veggie options were terrible. No vegan cheese was available when we were there so it was £13 for a patty, anemic leaf of lettuce, bbq sauce and bun with no chips. Service was fine but the restaurant was full with only one girl working the floor and the bar. Several hours later we still feel nauseous from our burgers.

The burgers were tasty, the ambience was actually okay, but two radios were playing at the same time with different music (kitchen and dining room), which was pretty annoying. The waitress was in a really bad mood and rolled her eyes when we tried to order more drinks. We don't go there anymore.

Food was mostly good but the chicken burger was a bit overcooked and dry. Service was poor. In an empty restaurant the server was slow in giving us our menus, without any drinks menu, and would rather moan to another member of staff than interact with customers. The burgers came fairly quickly but the sides came about 5 mins later which was odd. Takeaway food orders were being collected in the restaurant even though a sign on the door said they should wait outside. The staff were not attentive; they didn’t clear our table and we had to ask twice for the bill. We got the optional gratuity removed as it hadn’t been earned.

One of my best “accidental” finds. The food was excellent. Burgers, chips, and, according to my grandchildren, the best Oreo milkshakes ever. The service was personable and efficient. We enjoyed the atmosphere too making it the perfect rescue for four starving individuals who had underestimated the climb of Arthur’s Seat. Definitely going back

I really enjoyed my experience here. I think the burgers are really tasty and huge for a good price of £12-13. Chips are an extra of £3-5 depending on what type e.g. skinny or sweet potatoes. There are other options too. The milkshakes are very large and tasty. I've now tried the oreo, biscoff, and reeces and they're all brilliant for only £5.50.

Recently ordered the Chicken Run burger which was okay, though it was quite dry even with the sauce and was a bit on the salty side. I wouldn’t say the burgers are worth the price they charge. The fries are nice though.

My partner used to be a bit of a regular a couple of years ago when Luxford Burgers was in its infancy during COVID and was really excited to go back. We sat down next to the bar, buoyed in our search for a good burger by the 2024 Deliveroo award proudly displayed on the counter. We were promptly given menus whilst my partner went to the toilet, so I perused the menu and decided what I wanted. My partner then joined me and we ordered our food. We were given a bottle of water which we promptly used to quench our thirst. I then glanced towards the bar which i was unfortunately eye level with and then it started to sink in as I also saw the state of the tops of the salt and pepper mills; there was dust everywhere, this place evidently hadn't been properly cleaned in a hot minute or two! I informed my partner who was equally as shocked as I was to see the state of the place; however, we persevered hoping our food was still going to be good. I asked my partner about her previous experiences and how the food was, making idle chit chat whilst we waited. I then poured myself another glass of water when I noticed the big black dot on the inside of the bottle, unusual but ok I alerted the waitress behind the bar that we thought there was mold in the bottle. We were treated to a rather rude (and paraphrased) "No there isn't, but I'll get you another". No over the top acceptances of the fact, apologies or even an inspection of the bottle. Then she had attitude to ask the waiter to bring us the replacement bottle when we were practically right in front of her. We took the bottle and lo and behold, another big black dot! I wasn't sure if we had just been given the exact same bottle as it was in a different place but I knew my time in this establishment was limited. After agreeing with my partner to leave and informing the waitress of our departure, I was treated to a resentful "It's not mold, it's a stain". Glass doesn't easily stain, it is practically inert and why they use it in labs. Safe to say I will be informing the food standards agency because this was appalling. However, this was not a wasted experience as we discovered the incredibly excellent Macau Kitchen a couple of doors down where we had the best food we've ever had in Edinburgh. Silver linings..

Had my burger delivered. Never had one from here before. I was very disappointed to find almost raw mince in the burger. Sent an email and got a reply saying “yeah, should be well-done, I hope this hasn’t put you off”. Well yes, it has totally put me off.

Never anymore!!! They were very small, forgot the cheese in both hamburgers.... They CHANGED the price and the items AFTER I ordered! 2 vegetarian hamburger £13 each plus one highlander 13.10 when it was £11........ I HAD A DISCOUNT and it didn't show up after...so total.... TOTAL £47!!!!!!! Shocking

Used to be much better. Ordered food tonight, took forever and arrived cold (Deliveroo’s fault) but could have partly overlooked that if the food had been nice. I’ve ordered from here loads of times and it’s been a little while since my last order, but it seems to have gone right downhill. Burger was absolutely flaccid and just a patty with some cheese in a squashed bun. It’s like the difference between photos of McDonalds burgers and the real thing. Didn’t even taste nice. A real shame as this used to be a proper go-to for burger deliveries and is now just glorified Maccy Ds without the nice relish.

The burgers are delicious and filling. The workers are friendly and the atmosphere is great. Highly recommend the Chicken Run and the Labyrinth burgers.

The Luxford Burgers is one of these places folk rave about in the local press, social media etc. The food is fine. But it's completely ruined by poor service. I booked a table for five people and when we arrived we were met by staff who it seemed just couldn't be bothered. We were asked if we were ready to order before our full table had arrived. Then we were asked a second time and they still hadn't arrived so we asked if we could order drinks, to be told they "usually do it altogether" and we were informed there was water. It then took ages for them to come back and actually take our order. Then not everything came at the same time. The burgers arrived first on their own with chips and sides arriving a few minutes later. They'd massively mixed up our order, and ignored us when we tried to point this out, adding things on to the chips we simply hadn't ordered and bumping up the price. It then took them ages to clear up the table and bring the bill which we had to query due to the above issue. They had the cheek to add an optional gratuity as well which we were very clear we would not be paying. As for the food, well, it was fine. The burgers were tasty enough but the fries and sides seemed to be frozen rubbish you could buy from Aldi. All in all, a really disappointing experience.

Food from delivery service for the Edinburgh Shop. Food came through incorrectly 2 hours after order made. Loaded chicke katsu fries, turned into plain fries. Burger a little cold. Called 4x to try and let them know, voicemail each time.

I don't understand the poor reviews. Had a great meal, served swiftly, and we'll certainly be back! Genuinely great burger. Price is average for Edinburgh - fine with me. Yes, there are online orders, but we didn't find that to be an issue at all.

Dissapointing. Having walked past this resturant a good few times, I was tempted by the interesting names of the burgers on the menu and it always looked quite nice inside. However, when I visited, the chicken burger I got was disappointingly dry, the sauces rather flavourless and the candied bacon bits in the burger were so hard that they were essentially inedible. The waiter was trying his best, but seemed inexperienced and was running round trying to fulfil the never ending stream of deliveroo drivers coming through the door. It just seemed like the restaurant left him there with a lack of support, it wasn’t the waiters fault at all. Perhaps I caught them on a bad day, but considering the price of the meal I highly doubt I will be returning.

Extortionate prices for what it is, chicken tenders, katsu fries and biscoff cheesecake are all absolutely awful. Onion rings weren’t fully cooked. Their Google ratings are also fabricated as they offer vouchers to give 5 stars. In total we spent £70 and could be the worst money I’ve ever spent.

Ordered from the Glasgow branch - Do not order there! It's way too expensive for what it is. We ordered from deliveroo as it was well reviewed but discovered afterward it was only because they offer a £5 discount if you leave them a 5 star review. What a scam! Very disappointing business behaviour.

Burgers were overcooked and dirty

Me and my boyfriend discovered this place during lockdown when places only delivered. It instantly became our favourite order, both for takeaway and in person. We’ve tried a range of burgers, sides and milkshakes in this time, and I can safely say they are delicious. My friends who are vegan/vegetarian also cannot talk highly enough of these options. You can tell they use high quality ingredients, especially the meat. The bacon is crispy and never fatty. The bun is substantial and never soggy. Their homemade sauce is delicious. My only criticism is that I am no longer in the area so I cannot go anymore!

OK as a takeaway, not OK as a restuarant. Staff literally running through the ‘restaurant’ with bags of takeaway food.

Man am I bummed! Luxford is my favourite place to eat out when I come to Edinburgh. I've been coming here since they opened. Visited recently and the quality just isn't there anymore. The club dressing is absolutely banging but everything else was a disappointment. The food was crazy salty, leaving my lips sore and making me thirsty, and the beef patties were definitely frozen and not as high quality as previously. They were overcooked and rubbery to eat. It hurts my heart to say I don't think I'll be back.

Very overpriced for what you are getting. Meat was very dry, and there were not that many toppings on any burger.

Absolute joke of business, first ran fake advertisements and leaflets asking for 5 star reviews for every meal from them and they promised you £5 for every review. However after i reviewed couple of them, they only decided to give me only £5pounds after around 10 5* reviews. Contacted the manager and the restaurant and they seemed very sketchy, stating that i need to leave written review alongside the 5 star review to be able to get 5 pounds from EVERY order. However the manager then came back to me making up that that I will not be given any extra credits even it i add written review to already existing reviews. Do not let the reviews fool you, this is why they have such good reviews, as they paid for all of it and scammed people. Hope people do not order from this unprofessional business.

When we were greeted with "I'm sorry, I know we do burgers, but we've run out of beef" I didn't have much confidence, but I couldn't have been more wrong - the chicken burger CHANGED MY LIFE!! crispy crunchy chicken, incredible sauce and a bun that magically didn't disintegrate at all, plus truffle+parmesan chips that ACTUALLY served two people, mmmmm!! 2 burgers, 2 drinks, 1 side for £50 so not a cheap night out, but I'd happily pay good money for THAT CHICKEN BURGER any time.

Its OK - but the service was slow (only one poor guy trying to do everything) and most of the items were unavailable. Not cheap for just a burger either.

We ordered 2 beef burgers. They tasted good but we found pieces of bones in both burgers. The quality of meat is rubbish... never again..
