Great little cafe bar with very friendly owners/staff & dog friendly too. We visited on a recommendation from the owners of our holiday cottage. It was a wet day so unfortunately we couldn’t sit outside & enjoy the view. We went in & were offered a table which gave our Lab some room. Menu for food & drink is on chalk boards around the room. I selected the Welsh Cheese Board & the husband selected a cheese & chutney sandwich, we also ordered 2 soft drinks. The drinks came quickly & we settled in to wait for our food. We chatted and re read the chalk boards. My eyes were taken to the wine board & I couldn’t resist a glass of Primitivo. The food came & the wine was ordered. I must say at this point, I didn’t take a picture as I always forget if the food looks good & this looked good. The cheese board had 3 large pieces of cheese, 2 chutneys, some olives, picked onion slices, slices of focaccia & some crostini. I dived in (picture taking well forgotten). The husband’s sandwich was made of focaccia stuffed with cheese & chutney & looked good. The food is excellent & the wine went down a treat too. All in all a very good experience that I will repeat & highly recommend.

Great wholesome food. Staff very helpful and attentive recommending local beers tried with our meal available back in Porthmadog. Throughly enjoyed the Welsh rarebit with kimchi and hubby enjoyed the mackerel. Yet to try the Canadian slice we bought home with us! Thank you so much 😊 we wish you every success in this beautiful part of the world.

A trip to Bae Borth was a real highlight of our Easter visit to Snowdonia. It’s different from the usual touristy fare - their menu is choc full of top quality (and v often local) ingredients cooked with care and I daresay a lot of love (it shines through). My husband and I had the smoked mackerel cobb salad which was absolutely delicious and the children shared a mezze plate (they kindly did a children-friendly version, no olives etc) - all plates were cleaned! We’re back to Snowdonia in July and can’t wait to return to Bae Borth, what a gem!

Set in a beautiful location overlooking Borth-y-Gest harbour Bae Borth is a hidden gem. Not what you would expect from its name as it is more a bistro than either a deli or bar. They do have a selection of craft cheeses and ales plus other deli items but the crowning glory is their food. They are vegetarian, vegan and pescatarian focused without being obviously so which is brilliant. There is hint towards Nova Scotia with their chowder dishes or cups which I can highly recommend as addition to any meal off the menu. The three different dishes we had were generous and delicious and if we had more time we would have re-visited. Dont miss this tasty treat.

A real treat today for lunch. Not your average grub in a small village deli. Brilliant Welsh focused food with a few twists. Brilliant Welsh beer and Cider. Fantastic rarebit with the same Welsh beer and very tasty Nova Scotia chowder. I over did it and finished off with the Welsh cheeseboard. Fantastic location and wonderful service from the owners. A deli you should definitely seek out.

We arrived unannounced, 4 of us and fortunately found a table at the window.. What a great view of Borth-y-Gest bay. It was raining heavily, so did not have the option of sitting outside. A lovely welcome from the owner. It was a very busy Sat afternoon. We were just after a glass of wine but also opted for a cheese board (all local cheeses) and pickles.. The menu looked vast considering the size of the bistro. Very dog friendly. The service was excellent.. Thank you..

Really nice atmosphere, slight wait for food which was communicated professionally and it certainly was not a problem as we enjoyed the afternoon sun sat outside in February! The coffee and food really were spot on as was the service, just the little things make a huge difference, a home made dog biscuit and the offer of fresh water……. Much appreciated & will be back

Jo and Charlie are amazing and they offer an excellent spread it’s a fantastic atmosphere we were up recently and popped in for lunch, the chowder, salmon bagel and Welsh-Rarebit. We also went back a second day and had prawn salad and cheese and chutney, whiled away the afternoon we also ate them out of cinnamon buns that week. I really can’t recommend this place enough, one to visit if you are anywhere near.

An outstanding deli bar run by an enthusiastic and welcoming couple. It is small and doesn’t take bookings. The presence of dogs on the terrace and the restaurant is very trying given that the spaces are small. Otherwise highly recommended. There ought to be a phone contact for checking whether they are open.

Great deli at Borth y Gest. We called on a lunchtime in August. The welcome was great. We had a coffee each and then decided to have some smallmplates of kale salad, potato salad and prawns with peppers and tomatoes . It was delicious. The views were spectacular and the food, service and welcome matched them.

The cafe staff happily accommodated our family group of 8 adults for a lunch. They kindly reserved a table for us so that we were guaranteed a space after our morning walk. The menu included all day breakfast which several of us ordered. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared, hot and fresh. There was a specials board and those meals were very good too. The cafe environment was clean, comfortable and airy. The cafe was attached to and part of the village community centre. We felt we were made very welcome and were happy to know that we were supporting the community centre. All in all a lovely experience.
