From moment we walked through doors without a booking , staff took utmost care of our attendance. Staff very informed of menu and wine choices . Food was hot and served in a very presentable manner not to mention how delicious it was . Great atmosphere and well maintained premises. This was a visit to Edinburgh to celebrate my wife's birthday. Our last visit 2 years ago was spoilt by my wife taking poorly and spending most of weekend in bed in hotel . This more than made up for it and we will definitely recommend and return to badger and co next time we are in Edinburgh

Never been here before but took advantage of the Eat out March offer. The staff could not have been nicer and more helpful. Were not sure about which red wine to choose so we were given 3 to taste - excellent. We shared the smoked salmon starter which was yummy and then I went for the steak - cooked perfectly for me - and my friend went for the Ox Cheeks which she totally enjoyed. The venue is super - quirky (the toilets have the tallest doors I have ever seen and felt like Alice in Wonderland when she was small), comfortable, relaxed, not too noisy so easy to chat. Loved the Wind in the Willows theme too.

It was my second time visiting Badger &Co. I went for the smoked salmon for starters the Steak and haggis pie and finished with the sticky toffee pudding. All the food was amazing and the pie although not as nice as I remember it was still one of the best pies I've had. The service here is really good the staff are not bothering you constantly but are very attentive when needed. The restaurant itself is beautiful lovely atmosphere, it looks like an upmarket restaurant without the stuffiness. This would be perfect for a date night meal or any other occasion really.

Badger & Co is conveniently located between Princes Street and George Street, and is a stylish, smart and casual venue to pop in for a drink or have something to eat. The last time I was at Badger & Co was pre-Covid in 2018 and I remembered it well, so I was looking forward to returning mid-week with friends. We were warmly welcomed and seated on arrival. The menu has been drastically cut with a minimal choice, although I don't mind and understand as it cuts food waste and you can be assured that whatever you order ought to be cooked fresh and to a high standard. The pies are a speciality, although there's only two to choose from now. I chose the steak and haggis pie (£17.95) with vegetables and mash, while others chose chicken and leek pie and fish and chips for main courses. The waitress who took our order for a table of six has a memory like an elephant and remembered everything we ordered without a pen and paper, which was impressive. The steak pie arrived in a cast iron pie dish topped and sealed with a light pastry filled with succulent steak chunks with haggis and rich gravy. It was delicious, with crisp and fresh vegetables and a creamy mash to soak the gravy up. The fish and chips looked really good too, as did the chicken and leek pie. Someone ordered a deconstructed cheesecake for dessert (£8.50), which resembled a breakfast cereal and didn't look anything remotely like cheesecake and had no biscuit base. Other reviews have noted this. Quite bizarre. I suppose anything that's loosely put together is titled 'deconstructed' nowadays. Drinks prices are on a par with everywhere else around Edinburgh, and you can expect to pay around £6.50 a pint. We asked for the bill, only to find we were charged £5 for a bottle of still and sparkling water which arrived already opened. We queried this with the waitress, who got defensive and said the first person who arrived (and left early before the bill arrived) agreed to it when asked if he wanted a bottle of still and sparkling water for the tables? He clearly wasn't asked if he wanted tap water instead. She walked off and left us to discuss it amongst ourselves. We all arrived at the same conclusion that he was probably asked in a cheery tone, not realising it would cost an extra £10 for 2 bottles, and that it was clearly sneaky and underhand. Unfortunately, the waitress with the incredible memory must have suffered a lapse of amnesia as the 20% March discount was not applied to the bill until we queried it. The other server who sorted our bill said he would pass our comments back to the Management team and agreed that the water was a mistake, although bottles are usually charged. It completely ruined the experience and we deducted the 10% discretionary service charge to offset the water bill (which includes 20% VAT with an additional discretionary 10% service charge). The staff are clearly primed to try and rinse all customers at every opportunity, with the intro of asking if you would like a bottle of still and sparkling water for the tables as a starting point. In an era where everything is much the same, customer service is the only variable. Would I recommend it or return? No, in a word. There's much better venues to choose from.

Really cool and cute vibe! Food was lovely, waiter was lovely. Only thing that let it down was the waited offered us water but didn't tell us that they charge so we ended up paying £5 for a Bottle of water we didn't finish. I feel it's something they should tell you they charge for

Chicken pie needs to be thicken but tastes good. Sticky toffee pudding was dry, might need adjustment on the measurements while mixing. Atmosphere is amazing, service was great.

I went for Sunday lunch with pals. I enjoyed a couple of non-alcoholic cocktails and then had roast beef followed by sticky toffee pudding. It was great for me, but the meat did come on the rarer side of medium, which didn't suit one of my companions. The sides were good: toasties, yorkies, and veg. I like the space of the place and the Wind in the Willows theme is lovely. Recommended.

Short form: amazing get the beef pie Long form: you know when the food is so good you feel as if you have been transported back into your grandmother’s house that’s what this was I haven’t had a meal that brings that much comfort in quite a while and I was so happy.

Excellent food, wine and cocktails. We had friends over from Ireland and were delighted we chose Badger and Co for a meal. All in all a fantastic dining experience with first class customer service. Well done all - we will definitely be back.

We are a south african family who came on a weekend holiday to Edinburgh and came across the badgers pub while strolling the streets. We had a family dinner on valentines night, no booking and were thankful to get a spot. I highly recommend the steak pie and Gnocchi but everything we had was amazing. Friendly staff. Characterful pub.

Such a gorgeous restaurant with the most flavorful Scottish specialties. We tried the chicken and mushroom pie, the beef and haggish pie, the sticky toffee pudding, and the bakery bread w/ compound butter selection- all delicious.

If you're in Edinburgh, I highly recommend this place for great fish and chips - crunchy, tasty and really delicious. The venue is also worth it, with its refined and elegant "Liberty" style.

Hot toad time machine is soooo tasty！

I had a lovely catch up with a friend over a delicious bottle of lua nova white wine. It's the best bottle of white wine I've ever had it was delicate but refreshing slightly sparkling just what we needed. The sour dough bread & esp the olive tapunade was delicious. We had a window seat in the cosy bar area which was perfect. Staff were friendly. Talk about nostalgic the wind & the willows was on the tv on mute too! So nice to see lol 😆

I had a fantastic experience at Badger & Co! The food was delicious, with every dish full of flavour and beautifully presented. The drinks were equally great, especially the Cold Town Beer, which came highly recommended by Sian (The Manager) and Shannon. Speaking of Sian and Shannon, they were excellent – warm, attentive, and so helpful with their recommendations. They really made the evening special with their friendly and professional service. The atmosphere was spot-on, combining a cosy vibe with a touch of elegance. Homey and cozy place. We had a lunch there and really enjoyed the decor, the service and the food - pumpkin soup and the Pies were excellent.

Great place, love that I was able to eat a Turkey roast on a Tuesday night! Bartender recommended Oban Whisky for me and it is now my favourite. Everyone super friendly and helpful.

Drinks were great, food was great and the people were even better. Shan couldn’t have been more helpful. She fitted us in last minute just as the kitchen was about to close. Thanks again. If we come back to Edinburgh we’ll be back at Badger & Co!!

Very good experience. Copious, varied and quality dishes. Stumbled upon it by chance but we don't regret it. Excellent compliance with hygiene rules and very friendly, smiling and efficient staff. Nothing but good. Very good fish and ships.

The food was delicious, but what made my experience was the amazing staff member Georgie she was super helpful, friendly and a bundle of joy. It made the whole experience so much better!!

What a great experience today . Staff so welcoming & champagne & fish and chips delicious. Followed by a great choice of cocktails. The Badger special with Prosecco cream is a definite winner . Will be back and highly recommend.

Lovely venue, it’s a pity the food and service didn’t live up to it. We were initially seated and given menus and (what I now know was the manager) came back to take drinks orders. I opened the menu and she took it off me saying “there’s a page missing”. We asked for tap water for the table. It came warm. I eventually had to ask for the drinks menu back. I had to use the bathroom so I went to the disabled toilet (I have a disability which requires space, running hot water and soap in my cubicle). As I was going in the manager challenged me and told me there were toilets downstairs. This is humiliating. Can I point out that stomas aren’t visible but are definitely a disability. I ordered steak which was very grisly and the blunt steak knife had serious trouble cutting through it. My husband eventually cut it with his standard table knife. What should have been a lovely experience was very unpleasant and we left without having desserts and leaving no tip (which really isn’t like us). Hugely disappointed.

I had the Chicken Supreme at Badger & Co., and while it tasted great—tender chicken, and a solid sauce—the portion was tiny for the price (£23). I left still feeling hungry, which was a bit disappointing given the cost.

We were looking for a local experience for lunch rather than the familiar names from back home. So we chose Badger & Co. First of all great atmosphere. We were the first ones to arrive for lunch, and followed by other small and large families. Some have chosen the place for celebration. Unique selection of beers. Good chicken mushroom pie. Great fries.

We were looking for a relaxing Sunday dinner in Edinburgh away from the extremely busy Royal Mile. We went to a different pub nearby that happened to have an open mic night and we left very quickly as we couldn't hear each other even shouting..... Anyway, we came to Badger & Co without a booking and despite their roasts being sold out, we had an amazing dinner in a delightfully cozy restaurant with a gentle Wind in the Willows theme. Our waiters were very friendly and accommodating, and we're very glad we chose here for dinner!

I wish, wish, wish this had been a 5 star experience. I adore the Wind in the Willows. It was one of my favourite books as a child. As an adult, I love cocktails. It seemed like the best of both worlds! Obviously the interior design gets 5 stars. There is Wind in the Willows or badger stuff everywhere. On every wall, in every corner. Except the actual bar. It was a strangely empty feeling, especially coming from another cocktail bar that was packed. There was also a sort of uncomfortable sterility or coldness to the vibe. Like it is trying to be a trendy upscale spot, but doesn't quite have the right feel to it. It's hard to explain. The people I was with weren't feeling the spot, so we all only had one drink. I grabbed one of their signature drinks (the Wild Woodsman). It tasted very weak and was pretty boring, to be honest. It's basically a Paper Plane which I do like normally. This just wasn't very exciting. Sadly, a lot of the signature menu felt a bit cheap and novice with the use of flavoured vodkas/gins, cheap whiskeys, and liqueurs. Malibu? JD? Really? There was a pretty snotty attitude from the server as well, as if he thought we weren't good enough to be in this pseudo-fancy wannabe-influencer spot. While I didn't particularly notice, my friends felt unwelcome from the server and other customers. Not sure why. But maybe we stood out as a table of casual masc lesbians in a very straight bar? The giant Pride flag draped over the backbar just felt very ironic and performative to us. So, it's a cool idea. It just fell really flat for us.

Shame it didn't live up to the previous reviews ... I came for lunch on a Sunday afternoon at 3:45pm. It was very quiet, with no real ambiance. Gorgeous venue and amazing entrance, but it had a very strange smell - fish with a cheap vanilla air freshner over the top. Menu is quite limited if you don't eat meat, which was a shame. I ended up with the mackeral starter as a main and a side of fries. It was nice, but basic. My friend had the steak and haggis pie and said it was nice, but a bit bland, and you couldn't taste the haggis. Staff were friendly andd attentive. They play Wind in the Willows audi books in the toilets, which is a nice touch. With so many other places to visit in Edinburgh, I probably wouldn't return.

Booked the private room downstairs here for a party. Could not have been more pleased with the space and service. Food and drinks were excellent. Thank you so much to the staff there for making my event such a success, you are all amazing!
