Badger Box in Mansfield

Had 4 meals, steak was cooked perfect. Had three burgers, they were all amazing. Ruth our server made sure we were all happy too. Thank you very much!

Out for dinner with my two kids and my parents. Meals were lovely, decent sizes too. Ruth our server was very friendly too.

Went for a family meal & it was brilliant we all had different meals and everyone of our meals was beautiful. Excellent, normally we eat in and around Mansfield but was working close to the badger box today so we thought we would give it a try. We went to this establishment on our way home from school as it is close and I'm happy I did let me explain, we got our table (18) which was a half table half sofa space with a nice view of the car park to make sure our car was safe. we ordered our food (a chicken burger and chips,a spicy Piri Piri chicken flatbread a chick and mix mine and a kids chips nuggets and beans) to our surprise it came out in less than 5 minutes! We tucked in to our food and I had 20 chicken nuggets,chips and a corn on the cob and it was amazing the nuggets were perfectly cooked and crispy the chips were very fat and juicy same for the corn from my family the piri piri chicken was quite flavourful and tasty and the chicken burger was succulent and tasty once we had finished this optimum meal we had some desserts 2 chocktastic Sundays and an apple pie and they failed to break the streak they were delicious our server for our trip was Noelle who was very kind chatty and approachable Truly an amazing after school treat

Have just been for a meal and drinks with my daughter in law and 3 young grandchildren. Its Valentines day and it was packed. There was 1 member of staff for the bar and 1 serving food. Felt so sorry for them. I go in here often but thought this was abysmal. Went in previous night fora couple of games of pool. The pool table has been moved and is unplayable at £1.50 a go. Went outside with the grandchildren today and tried to turn on a heater but they have obviously been turned off. The new landlord needs to address these issues. Worst service in all the years I've been visiting

We visited as finished work late and wanted to have a night off cooking - nice atmosphere in the pub ( sports in one side ) we sat in the quieter side … we ordered 2x mega mixed grill ( amazing value ) and were really impressed when it came - presented well and good cuts of meat ( option of fries chips mash or jacket ) I had the jacket potato and it was perfectly cooked … the lady at the bar was really friendly and helpful and the lovely server was polite smiley and friendly… we had a check up to see if everything was ok … we also ordered 2 puddings as they were so well priced … I was able to use my BLC ( have to get the code on the app but good Wi-Fi so no problem… looking forward to going again

We got told our food would be about 30 mins and we waited 50 when the food got to us it was cold and taken back first saying it would be about 5 o mins then came back saying it would be abound 15-20 mins totally discussed and will not be coming back

Ordered food for myself and my daughter.told about 30 minutes wait it took 50 minutes to arrive then my daughters food was cold so it was taken back,waited for another 20 minutes and it was brought out and had been heated up in a microwave...totally disgusted and we will not be going back.custom lost as we were going there every fortnight

Normally love coming to the badger box but my last visit was not so great. There is never enough staff on the bar and I waited almost 20 minutes to be served. The 1 bar lady was busy, stressed and swearing stating she was going home soon due to being P****d off with other bar staff!! How unprofessional. This is not the first time I have heard staff conversations that was not very appropriate in front of customers. The pub was cold so was glad to get home for a warm. The food was good after we finally got what we ordered having sent it back due to missing sauce. Appreciate that it’s busy at this time but there needs to be more staff on the bar.

My wife and I went with friends on a Friday evening and the food was fantastic. A very nice fish and chips for £6 in the two meals for £11.99 deal. Also, the beer was not excessively-priced at £2.70 a pint. Only slight negative was that it was very busy, so it is best to book a table in advance. Also, you might struggle to find a parking spot, but these are minor criticisms.

The food is excellent and the portion sizes are seriously huge. The sharer is for two people but could easily feed three. Unbelievable value for money and the staff are polite, friendly and welcoming.

Really impressed! We haven’t been for awhile (years) glad we did though because the atmosphere is lovely and the food is even better and to top it off they take blue light discount … so it’s a bargain too! Does get quite busy so booking is recommended however the do squeeze you in if they can when calling as online was booked up. Definitely recommend!

Came here 2nite for what should have been a nice farewell meal for my brother in laws leaving meal. Waited over 2 hours for the food to be brought to our table. When we asked for information on who to complain to “Keeley” as she kept telling us her name was. Came over really aggressively and said “who wants to complain” in what I can only describe as an atrocious way to speak to customers. Then spent the next 20 minutes arguing with my mother in law not once apologising for the wait. The closest we got to a apology if you could call it that was her telling us “I did say there was a hour wait” Which followed her saying it wasn’t her fault in a rather unprofessional and disrespectful manner. I thought I would voice my concerns on the Facebook page but they were removed. Very professional rather than address an issue remove the comment. I think “Keeley” needs to go on a course on customer service. Not only was she rude towards us she was rude towards another member of staff “Sarah” who did apologise for the delay in food and was trying to make amends by checking if the food was ok. “Keeley” decided to bark at her to go away. Great advertisement for the pub. I won’t waste my hard earned money in this establishment again and after tonight I won’t be the only one.

Our absolute go to place when we visit family in Mansfield. The food is delicious and the service is so friendly. We were running late and they even held out table for us which was nice. Don't hesitate to book.

Today we had the gammon skillet, this isn’t our first time ordering this. We’ve had this a few times due to the food being so beautiful and cooked to perfection. The staff are always so helpful and lovely each time we visit. We will definitely be returning.

Have been going to Badger box several years we live local. Went in for lunch with my daughter and 17year old grandson always enjoyed the meal however on this occasion was very disappointed on how we was spoken to by the staff member incharge she brought our meal to the table I had a glass of shandy my daughter and grandson had cokes the staff member asked who the glass of larger was for I replied it was shandy she went on to say this better not be for him referring to my grandson in a very loud brash voice I honestly felt so embarrassed the pub went silent I replied no it's not my grandsons I'd moved the drinks to make room for the meals she went onto say we'll I will be watching him to see if he's drinking it we didn't respond because we felt very threatened I honestly have never felt so embarrassed the staff member was extremely unprofessional. She never asked for my Grandsons ID we couldn't enjoy our meal and left. Although my Grandson wasn't drinking when arriving home we looked on the government website it clearly states that 16-17year old may have an alcoholic drink with their meal a cider/wine.... please could you educate your staff member on this and also the Manor inwhich she speaks to your customers. The other staff working on Wednesday was lovely it's a shame that the person left incharge and in a professional position spoilt our day.

Why when the pub was empty at 8pm on 13th June 2023 was it going to take 1 hour for the food to be prepared? Shame you missed out on takings from 5 meals.

We always come to the Badger Box when I visit my daughter in Hucknall. The place is clean, the staff are friendly, helpful and if they can make a bespoke, off-menu meal for you, they're very happy to oblige (I have a VERY picky 10 year old!) The food is great quality, it's served quickly, too. You're not rushed between courses, but you're also not left with dirty plates, hanging around for the mains/desserts. Heartily recommend, and we'll be back again soon!

Arrived for dinner, we had sirloin steak. The cut was poor obviously it’s not there fault, I asked for medium well done no blood how ever it was more medium rare, I ate the food as I’m not normally one to complain. Anyway I ordered dessert, we has 2 scoops of ice cream and an apple pie sundae. After half an hour I asked when it would be coming she said it’s being done now. I then went back up as it came out and was half full of cream; no biscuit crumbs and the presentation was dreadful and nothing like the item on the menu. I asked for a refund as I couldn’t wait another 30 minutes for another. She was not polite by any means, she said it’s not cream it’s ice cream. I said this is cream it’s all white the ice cream was vanilla so more yellow. She said well the staff is new and still learning to make them and put up the refund and bluntly said the price she was refunding to my card. No apology, quite rude and seemed pretty annoyed I asked for a refund. Poor customer service skill at all. Absolutely wouldn’t return to waste my money for this kind of service.

Was extremely impressed with the funeral tea that Gina and her team prepared for us. Nothing was too much trouble, there was an abundance of food and everything very professional. A big thank you.

This pub offers a great atmosphere and the staff are friendly and efficient. We go every weekend and its always 5 stars
