The burger gave me and my mon food poisoning it was pink in the middle

Pleasant cafe. Had eggs on toast which were well-cooked and served promptly. Premises looked clean and tidy and also had well-kept toilets.

Food ok didn't like the idea of card only no cash should be your choose will soon become a cashless society would have gone somewhere else if somewhere was available

2nd time ive been here. Food is great and so is the building. Clean and looks nice. Only reason it wasnt 5 stars is they didn't give our fish and chips which we payed for. I'm sure it was just a mistake but check the bag before you leave.

As a family we love this fish and chip shop, we visit regularly when visiting Bala. The food is the best you’ll find. But it has gone extremely expensive, paid £8.60 for jumbo sausage, chips and curry sauce(eat in even though still in takeaway box). The eat in price seemed to be double that of the takeaway menu, but didn’t match up to any price on the eat in menu. Only appear to do large 1 price for chips, no small chips on menu.

The atmosphere & service was good. Inside looked clean throughout. For a Fisn n Chip shop it was a bit over priced. I was looking forward to eating my purchase of sausage, chips & gravy. The sausage was nice, the gravy was ok but the chips were inedible. Myself & my partner decided not to eat them.

The chips were disgusting! It was like they had been fried over and over they were so dry I actually chocked! I wouldn't of fed them to the seagulls! Over priced and wouldn't take cash absolute rip off 👎

very underwhelmed by the food as fish n chips is my thing . The curry sauce and the mushy peas were better than my swimming in grease frozen fish which tasted like coley or cheap fish with tasteless batter and my bitty hard not too impressive chips

Where do I start? Perhaps I will start with the sheer price on the menu, a small tray (I mean small) cost nearly £4!! That's pound sterling not ruppes The chips had been fried more times than the oil in the fryer has been changed, I had a bite of one chip and I thought I had accidentally bit into the wooden fork, unfortunately I had not, although the fork would have tasted nicer. I do not recommend going her. Serious action needed

2 small sausage /chips...purchased 12 30 ..lunch time.chips were cold sausages luke warm....very disappointment.and not cheap..£9 50 .we parked outside shop and binned them both

Absolutely amazing food. Popped in after a swim in Bala and we had the biggest fish, chips and mushy peas. Amazing value for money. Lovely staff

I have never paid so much for such a tasteless plate of grease. I used 5 napkins to mop up the grease from the fish, I feel ill.

Wow this restaurant is incredible first class service by a team that couldn't do enough for you. The quality of our food was first class a very enjoyable lunch . We made a special trip from Worcestershire to visit this restaurant and it was worth it. Please give it ago .

The only one still open at the time...and they wouldn’t accept cash. We faced a long drive back home...starving hungry. Disgusted, won’t be back, and won’t be recommenced. Would have given zero stars if the comments system had allowed.

Take away food was ok, but part of order was missing - had to go back for it. Paid by card. No receipt offered or given. Just checked bank account and I see I was overcharged by £6. I will avoid this place in future.

Delicious chunky fish, lovely chips and thick mushy peas. We ate in the restaurant, but the place is clearly very popular with take away also. Great restaurant service, wait for food about 5-10min. I opted for fish and peas only, which was plenty large enough! Hearty portions 👍

Tasty food, friendly service. Had the chips / gravy after a day on the hills. This is a top-end chippy I would say. Worth a visit when you are needing some refueling.

Food was excellent for the price would recommend to people. They sell all sorts and the food was warm and came quite quickly and the staff were very friendly.

Gefon ni frecwast yma fel 4 ac mi roedd yn berffaith . We had breakfast here and it was great value for money . Had the normal breakfast while others had the mc Badell which came in red and white paper which was fun!

1st time I’d had food from there since I was in Ysgol Y Berwyn. Chips and Gravy really nice.

Went for lunch, very clean, very polite helpful staff I was learning Welsh from one of the waitresses think she was called tish, beautiful, polite and friendly a lovely girl. The customers that live there were also polite and friendly, had a laugh, enjoyed good food and good company. Thoroughly recommended.

Excellent quality. Perhaps the best ive ever had.

So frustratingly inconsistent. Sometimes they are spot on. But today, the chips weren't crispy at all. More like boiled potatoes. And some of them were still raw inside. 😔 Plus the gravy was so gelatinous, it stayed nearly solid when poking with a chip. Then when the chip emerged, it looked like someone had preserved the chip in a very thick brown agar jelly! 🤢

Not what it was 5 years ago plus they don't take cash anymore. I don't shop without cash. Someone else paid for mine out of principal I won't be back. Cash is king.

Went into this shop for lunch. After about 3 attempts on my card i finally paid. Once i arrived home i checked my transactions on my credit card to find out that i had been charged twice. I approached badell aur and they were hopeless. The first lady said they had noticed that the till was over that day. I then spoke to somebody in accounts who said they can't refund me. My bank said the only thing they need to do is do a bank transfer. I was then told that the only person that can do anything was sick although the first lady said she spoke to somebody. I would be careful if you are paying by card in this place as they just try to get rid of you when you have a problem.

Has a takeaway from here last night whilst staying in bale. Was charged £25 for 2 portion of chips and 3 scampi. The chips were awful and for £3.45 per bag they were awful and not many of them. The scampi was gritty and grey inside. I feel like they exploit tourists very much by charging 5 star prices for 2 star food. I don’t recommended anyone go there. Especially not for the scampi or the chips.

One of the very best fish n chips I've every had . Not at all greasy like alot of shops and the batter was light and crispy. Thank you for a great meal.

Brilliant place to visit. Great value with a variety of choices. Take away or sit in . Reasonably priced and excellent service. Tidy and clean. Left an item of clothing 7 weeks ago and yesterday they gave it me back . Can't fault it.

Great little place with good food that is reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and welcoming. We try to stop here after paddling at the white water centre just outside Bala. Great place to refuel after a day of exercise.

As usually food was delicious. We hadn't booked but got a table as soon as we walked in. But I would recommend booking prior to going as it can get really busy.

Small fish and chips are very small They are over staffed but had to wait 15-minutes for my order No salt or vinegar on the chips I was asked whether I wanted Salt and vinegar no one seems very happy in there and they only take card payments

Watch pricing! Had same meal twice in two weeks for two people (fish, chips, mushy peas, bread and butter, one tea and one coffee). First time bill was £24.00, second time £31.50! Only realised on checking bank statement! Not happy!

Chicken is tender, but it's fried in the same oil as the fish. Because of that, you're gone feel it. The fish is really oily but good. Chips were alright. The cheesy ones were better. Overall, it's not bad food, but there's a lot of room for improvement

Found this place as we went through Bala on our way home. Both had the breakfast special which was fab.

Just had fish ‘n chips in there. The fish was fresh cooked with the batter beautifully crisp, a good portion of very nice chips and we had mushy peas in a generous separate bowl. The service was friendly and efficient. We will happily go back in there again.

Quite a good fish and chip shop. Very busy, good quality food and reasonably priced (£5.95 for fish bites and chips, a large cod (no chips) is £7.95!) But I did have to go back and ask for salt and vinegar when they said it was on. Limited seating.

Overpriced, just edible food. The price doesn't match the product, if the fish and chips, sausage and chips we bought for a family of 5 was good quality decent food I'd look over it however it was basic and bland. The gravy taste like school gravy served up in the 90s, the curry surprisingly was good and the best part of the meal, sausage was shrivelled, chips undercooked and mushy, fish was a good size but bland and sloppy could of done with another 5 minuets in the fryer. Conclusion=cheap, backstreet chippy food charging high end superior chippy prices.

Nice food but far too expensive.

Had lunch in this chip and fish cafe what a mistake cost £14 for chips fish gravy and a cup of tea, very expensive, to make it worse the chips must have been reheated several times, without the gravy I don't think I could have eaten the 5 or 6 chips that I managed to eat. Round two, I've decided to have another go at this chips shop after having a fantastic fish and chips at my local place, how could anyone have served chips that were so disgusting I'll never know, my only regret is I never told them on the day.
