Great fish and chips. Especially the chips🍽️

Fish & Chips were very poor quality. Full of grease. High price for what it is. I won’t be returning unfortunately.

Fire alarm went off not one of the 4 staff knew the code to turn it off Forgot to make friend breakfast waited 45 mins for it. Then tried to hide the mistake by talking in welsh Cheapestof ingredients Belter cafe across the road

Kids day trip to Bala lake train. Stopped at this fish and chips mid journey - place was full. Maybe this was a premonition not to eat here! After return train journey, drove back to the place. Ordered 4 meals and drinks. Atmosphere and staff were ok but the food tasted awful. Greasy tasteless chips, miniscule pieces of fish made to look bigger with excessive fluffy greasy batter, scampi was same awful greasy taste. Coup de grace was a curly hair in the plate!!🤮 All in all a complete waste of trip and at least £60 lighter in pocket. Possibly the worst food we've had in a long time. The proprietor should pay more attention to hygiene and the quality of food, not just charm. Hope this helps.

Really good food, stopped here for breakfast whilst our car was in the garage. Staff were lovely and friendly and happily swapped a couple of items in the breakfast with no hassle and even gave us an extra slice of black pudding! Tea could have been a little bit stronger but that’s only a minor detail.

Popped in for breakfast whilst waiting for car repair. All the staff were incredibly friendly and the atmosphere was laid back despite being a little quiet. Eating area was clean. Service was fast, staff were very accommodating in regards to exchanges/swaps on the breakfast menu. Portions were significantly bigger than the menu suggested with more slices of bacon and toast than advertised. Only suggestion would be to ask the staff to leave the teabag in the tea. Overall a great little place!

Excellent chips - big portion 😁

All the staff were delightful and extremely helpful. I'm GF & DF. What a difference it was for me to have a choice of fish OR sausages even towards the end of the evening. It was Take Away only by the time we arrived. The Gluten Free Fish & chips + mushy peas were delicious! The only problem was I just couldn't eat it all. Lovely clean premises with some fascinating old photographs on the walls to look at whilst waiting for our tea. Next time, I'm hoping for your GF & DF Chicken Curry and chips.

Stopped off here while driving through Bala. Great tasting food with big portion sizes, presenting great value for money. Really friendly and helpful service too. Would definitely return and would be very quick to recommend! 🌟

We called for a takeaway for 11 of us including 1 gluten free after a day's sailing. There was service with a smile. The order was perfect which is unusual these days. Often on a big order disappointly something is often missing. The gluten free meal was excellent. Looking forward to going back when next in Bala

A busy food outlet in a lovely Welsh street there was a wait when I called despite only wanting chips to go. Nice food with a good turnover of food so it’s always been fresh. Parking down the main street is a lottery sometimes your lucky large car park on the edge of town in each direction and just walk down the main street is easily if you’re able to walk the distance

chips were awful some over cooked & re heated like trying to eat cardboard left most of them should have asked for money back waiters laughing and joking not a pleasant atmosphere won't be eating there again felt very unwelcome

We love this cafe, it’s super friendly and the food is good. We particularly enjoy their takeaway finish n chips; excellent crispy batter and succulent fish. Great value.

2nd time ive been here. Food is great and so is the building. Clean and looks nice. Only reason it wasnt 5 stars is they didn't give our fish and chips which we payed for. I'm sure it was just a mistake but check the bag before you leave.

As a family we love this fish and chip shop, we visit regularly when visiting Bala. The food is the best you’ll find. But it has gone extremely expensive, paid £8.60 for jumbo sausage, chips and curry sauce(eat in even though still in takeaway box). The eat in price seemed to be double that of the takeaway menu, but didn’t match up to any price on the eat in menu. Only appear to do large 1 price for chips, no small chips on menu.

The atmosphere & service was good. Inside looked clean throughout. For a Fisn n Chip shop it was a bit over priced. I was looking forward to eating my purchase of sausage, chips & gravy. The sausage was nice, the gravy was ok but the chips were inedible. Myself & my partner decided not to eat them.

The chips were disgusting! It was like they had been fried over and over they were so dry I actually chocked! I wouldn't of fed them to the seagulls! Over priced and wouldn't take cash absolute rip off 👎

very underwhelmed by the food as fish n chips is my thing . The curry sauce and the mushy peas were better than my swimming in grease frozen fish which tasted like coley or cheap fish with tasteless batter and my bitty hard not too impressive chips

Where do I start? Perhaps I will start with the sheer price on the menu, a small tray (I mean small) cost nearly £4!! That's pound sterling not ruppes The chips had been fried more times than the oil in the fryer has been changed, I had a bite of one chip and I thought I had accidentally bit into the wooden fork, unfortunately I had not, although the fork would have tasted nicer. I do not recommend going her. Serious action needed

2 small sausage /chips...purchased 12 30 ..lunch time.chips were cold sausages luke warm....very disappointment.and not cheap..£9 50 .we parked outside shop and binned them both

Absolutely amazing food. Popped in after a swim in Bala and we had the biggest fish, chips and mushy peas. Amazing value for money. Lovely staff

I have never paid so much for such a tasteless plate of grease. I used 5 napkins to mop up the grease from the fish, I feel ill.

Wow this restaurant is incredible first class service by a team that couldn't do enough for you. The quality of our food was first class a very enjoyable lunch . We made a special trip from Worcestershire to visit this restaurant and it was worth it. Please give it ago .

The only one still open at the time...and they wouldn’t accept cash. We faced a long drive back home...starving hungry. Disgusted, won’t be back, and won’t be recommenced. Would have given zero stars if the comments system had allowed.

Delicious chunky fish, lovely chips and thick mushy peas. We ate in the restaurant, but the place is clearly very popular with take away also. Great restaurant service, wait for food about 5-10min. I opted for fish and peas only, which was plenty large enough! Hearty portions 👍

Tasty food, friendly service. Had the chips / gravy after a day on the hills. This is a top-end chippy I would say. Worth a visit when you are needing some refueling.

Gefon ni frecwast yma fel 4 ac mi roedd yn berffaith . We had breakfast here and it was great value for money . Had the normal breakfast while others had the mc Badell which came in red and white paper which was fun!

1st time I’d had food from there since I was in Ysgol Y Berwyn. Chips and Gravy really nice.

Went for lunch, very clean, very polite helpful staff I was learning Welsh from one of the waitresses think she was called tish, beautiful, polite and friendly a lovely girl. The customers that live there were also polite and friendly, had a laugh, enjoyed good food and good company. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely Large Cod peas and gravy today , we both didn't fancy having chips but boy what a great service , well recommend you try it family of maybe 8 on one table too 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Excellent quality. Perhaps the best ive ever had.

So frustratingly inconsistent. Sometimes they are spot on. But today, the chips weren't crispy at all. More like boiled potatoes. And some of them were still raw inside. 😔 Plus the gravy was so gelatinous, it stayed nearly solid when poking with a chip. Then when the chip emerged, it looked like someone had preserved the chip in a very thick brown agar jelly! 🤢

Not what it was 5 years ago plus they don't take cash anymore. I don't shop without cash. Someone else paid for mine out of principal I won't be back. Cash is king.

Went into this shop for lunch. After about 3 attempts on my card i finally paid. Once i arrived home i checked my transactions on my credit card to find out that i had been charged twice. I approached badell aur and they were hopeless. The first lady said they had noticed that the till was over that day. I then spoke to somebody in accounts who said they can't refund me. My bank said the only thing they need to do is do a bank transfer. I was then told that the only person that can do anything was sick although the first lady said she spoke to somebody. I would be careful if you are paying by card in this place as they just try to get rid of you when you have a problem.

Has a takeaway from here last night whilst staying in bale. Was charged £25 for 2 portion of chips and 3 scampi. The chips were awful and for £3.45 per bag they were awful and not many of them. The scampi was gritty and grey inside. I feel like they exploit tourists very much by charging 5 star prices for 2 star food. I don’t recommended anyone go there. Especially not for the scampi or the chips.

One of the very best fish n chips I've every had . Not at all greasy like alot of shops and the batter was light and crispy. Thank you for a great meal.

Great little place with good food that is reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and welcoming. We try to stop here after paddling at the white water centre just outside Bala. Great place to refuel after a day of exercise.

As usually food was delicious. We hadn't booked but got a table as soon as we walked in. But I would recommend booking prior to going as it can get really busy.

Small fish and chips are very small They are over staffed but had to wait 15-minutes for my order No salt or vinegar on the chips I was asked whether I wanted Salt and vinegar no one seems very happy in there and they only take card payments
