Rude security abusing power because they can. It’s a shame because have had lovely security people in the past and never had a problem. Showed up before last entry and staff said we could go in but security decided to lie and say it was a price event, event thought we knew it wasn’t. Treated us awfully even thought we perfectly coherent and sober. We have been loyal costumers in the past but it’s a shame. One specific who refused to give his name on the night of 1st november was rude and inherent and refused to give a name. Colleagues admitted he was in the wrong but refused to claim accountability. Shame that they lost customers tonight.

Do not go here. Your stuff will be stolen. Venue staff clearly work in tandem with the “perpetrators”. Our coats and bags magically appeared after we refused to leave.

Only go if you want all your stuff stolen.

Didn’t know that I couldn’t leave my drinks on a shelf. When told went to rectify the issue but a person was taking my drink. Asked several times to let go where they did not explain, and then kicked me out for swearing when I thought a random person was taking my drink. Pathetic.

Always look after us all in all ... a girl was being weird with myself and a few friends the first time I came with a group of friends , said person was removed swiftly which put my mind at ease .... this time charged my phone, made sure I was safe even safe ... only judgement .. most of the team here are friendly and real apart from one girl who thinks she is the owner and gives attitude, tried undermining other members of her team and was generally aggressive and tbh got my back up as someone at least 10 years her senior.... she gave fake smiles to cover herself at she's clearly intimadated by her male colleague who was on shift and was an excellent host ...every other single member of team are accomodating and friendly but she makes me feel uncomfortable ... won't come again unless it's the last place open in Kingston... which is sad coz it's just down to the demeanor of 1 person in a quiet business it's amplified

Bouncers push you around and treat you horribly, when you are trying to enter their club and GIVE them your money Do not come here, you are better off at Pryzm around the corner. The bouncers there treat you with respect and welcome you in, reasonable price of drinks and 3 rooms to choose from. DO NOT COME TO BACCHUS, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Horrible bouncers, would like to caveat that none of my group were overly drunk or problematic. We got ID’d at the door and searched, got asked to get IDs out again and then asked if we were searched, and then ID’d again when we went to pay for entry. Door staff then threw my friend’s ID on the floor and then threw him out him out when he asked why they did that. Bouncers then berated us when we left - avoid at all f-ing costs

I went to this place to support a friend DJing there. The door staff wouldn't let me in as I was a single male on my own and the policy was not to allow single males inside. I've had better success on entry previously but couldn't help notice the place smelled quite bad to the point it got on your clothes and you were reminded of it days later. Not recommended As I remember it someone also tried to steal my drink as I left it on a ledge off the dancefloor

1- Someone put a straw inside another straw to drink from a distance in my glass. 2- The security banned my friend saying he left the place with a hidden drink, but it was definitely because he was bald (we know the truth)(he’s saving the entry fee he would have paid if he weren’t banned to go to turkey)

Me and 3 friends went. We were the only people in the bar. We went outside to meet up with our other friends, and they wouldn't let us back in. Seriously? We are the only paying customers in the bar and you won't let us back in after we've payed cover? We just went to meet our friends at the entrance. What a waste. Absolutely ridiculous. Lost the ONLY customers your had. Why would I pay twice to enter an empty club?

So, i've been coming to bachus on and off for about 7 years. I've seen bouncers come and go, trends change... ecetera. I cannot defend this place anymore. It's litterally the cesspit of south west nightlife these days. They havs a continuous rollover of bouncers... all of which in the last 2 years have been either aggresive or completely non-personable. I have to say tonight has been the nail in the coffin... we had an issue with a mate who wanted to leave for food, 2 minutes across the road... and he was forced to pay for re-entry on a monday... it would of been fine to be told no, but the staff of the venue got aggresive toward us for simply asking if we could leave and comeback... no people skills. I had to prevent my freinds from coming back and causing a brawl. And i lost my personal property in the club during this. This place needs to be shutdown at this point. It's a hollow shell of itself, nothing like the bachus i love and remember. The staff are abhorrent.

Came here with a group of guy friends but I was the only one not allowed in. They were quite tipsy as well as me but they got allowed in instead of me. I thought it was unfair.

The security team need re-training or replacing. Every couple of minutes I would have a flashing torch shone in my face on the dance floor, security seemed incredibly suspicious of everyone in there for some reason... won't be coming back any time soon

I was send away only because I was on my own and a policy of the club is “in case you get drunk a friend will carry you”. Don’t waste your time if you are looking for sole entry. It does not matter if you are sober, well dressed and behaved. They seem not to care; imposing odd policies. Really disappointed with such behaviour. Let’s add a bit of logic here… What if both of us get drunk? Who’s carry us then ?

great night out, top tunes on a tuesday with pop, r and b and club classics! drink deals before 12, bit quiet before then but the music will get you moving staff are lovely

Wish I could give 0 stars. Honestly, it is dirty and a sad excuse of a night club. Some men come in and think they can harass women, and bouncers will laugh at victims, like they did to me. They will also kick you out if you are sleepy, laughing too much, or too serious (these have all been separate occasions) Anything pretty much is an excuse for them to kick people out; except actual abu53rs. Honestly it is only a good club if you have no other option.

Amazing late night bar. I’ve been going for years. But only tonight I felt there was an inappropriate man. But the bouncers dealt with the situation swiftly and effectively without causing an issue. I absolutely commend the bouncers and safety team.

Sadly endemic of the club scene these days, the bouncers ruined the experience. I'm 34 and have never been in any incidents, but when trying to look out for a friend I was treated with suspicion and only after a lengthy conversation was allowed back in, having paid entry and received a stamp on my hand. I understand people can cause trouble, but especially when times are hard, you would hope that those involved in places that exist to remove people from the difficulties of every day life they might perhaps exhibit a little more discretion... Particularly towards those that are a little older and clearly have nothing to prove.

Typical bouncers abusing their authority. They prioritise stopping a sober, calm female from saying bye to her friends (despite still having the stamp to show I've paid!) and keeping drinks out of the smoking area to avoid doing proper work. Maybe this is just my opinion but I believe security should be there to keep customers safe. They should be preventing predatory behaviour and drink spiking, but they aren't. So keep your eyes peeled, protect your friends and cover your drinks because no security will help when you need them the most. The only good thing I can say about Bacchus is the decor is alright for the tiny nightclub that it is.

It's sad that this sink hole exists. It could be used as a more efficient space. Like a basement or corpses or a farm for coprophilia.

This place needs a good wash with bleach. The place stinks of piss . The smell is even worse at the toilets. I felt weird even sitting down or leaving my coat on the bench. Unfortunately there are not many options for open night clubs on a Tuesday.

After being calmly waiting to get in, I was kicked out for waiting for my girlfriend to be checked by security. I don't know about you, but I can't leave my partner alone in Kingston. The blonde, fat, short lady at the front desk slammed the door and kicked me out. They told me to complain to their services but they hung up and blocked us. We were SOBER.

The lady (blonde, fat and short) at the front desk was very rude and kicked me out because I was waiting for my girlfriend to come in too. She was 30min late and kicked me out when I told her I was waiting for my partner to be checked by security.

Last night I was kicked off the dance floor by the head of security for literally no reason what so ever. He claimed I pushed him despite the fact I had a drink in either hand. Massive power trip, bouncers like him just want trouble and obviously get a kick out of it and I honestly don’t understand how you can justify employing these people. I miss the old door staff who were slightly more reasonable. Won’t be coming back

Always used to stand up for this place but last night it didn’t open til 12 and closed at 02:20. Really let down by what could have been a great night.

Vibe was terrible, smelt like a toilet everywhere and when security tried to kick a vulnerable women out, he threatened another person with a fire extinguisher and threatening him to come around the corner. Very very bad vibes

I was physically abused by a member of staff called ‘Ramsey’ badge number (1016926100434803). He pushed me and threaten me after I asked him why he was pushing a vulnerable girl out of the establishment. He was very forceful with her and I was only checking if she was okay. I am extremely disappointed and for this reason I will not be attending this nightclub and any nightclub associated with this one ever again.

Do not go here unless you want to be assaulted. Stay far away from this place

Bouncer was on a power trip, staff stayed in the back room and treated the place like it was their living room and they were inconvenienced by people wanting service.

Clubbing great, staff are great . But the security on the other hand need sorting out !!! The aggressiveness from them and when they told us to get cash and come.back to let us in but no they changed there mind and decided to say it was closed ruined our night considering they told us to get cash and we could go in !!! 2 security men there one with long hair in a bun and some other big guy was very aggressive to my friend for no reason! I work in a bar myself and I have never seen anything like that!!! They should be sacked and get new security!!!!!

Had a great night and met loads of awesome people. Spoiled a bit by a couple of creepy dudes grabbing up drunk girls but they were despatched of quite quickly. Staff were pleasant and door staff were also very reasonable and level headed.

Homophic staff, turned me away at the door for, "holding hands" with another male, then went and found people to redicule me after I asked to complain and take their details Walked pasted the place today ( 22/06/2021) even though there are new covid rules staff still acted in a homophic manner. I expected more since the lockdown.

Never ever consider going to this place, this place is very dead.

Best club in London… if this was Opposite Day. Avoid this and other hedonistic activities and find your dwindling spirit within, you sick alcoholics. My friend went here and caught a new type of std. we lost him a week ago. One positive thing I can say is that the deals during happy our are excellent.

I lived in this club. Bella is the best bartender so buy her shots pls. i’ve been chocked in this club and manhandled by the bouncers and had great times however never ever rely on this place letting you in or even serving you a drink. Very hit or miss love clarkie and carol x

I would used to have said that Bacchus is the best late night bar/club in Kingston but times have changed and sadly so have staff members. The new bar staff are extremely rude, one example of this was when I ordered a shot, the member of staff knocked it over, blamed the incident on me all whilst refusing to replace it, and ended up charging me for it. The new wave of bouncers are very aggressive and unprofessional, speaking to guests in a disgusting manor involving a lot of swearing, and throwing their weight around at people as opposed to protecting and diffusing a situation.

Racist bar, saw some people get thrown out without a reasonable answer. The staff are rude and the bartenders are unbelievably disrespectful & not taking it seriously

Disappointed! I was there last Friday. First of all everyone on the bar was so slow that I had to wait 45 minutes to be served but then when it was my time she decided to serve one girl behind me and she shouted at me when i asked why. I left the place after that. Girl on the bar was incredibly rude and I really do not understand how the owner of the place let somebody like her work there. Terrible experience, i will never visit again and will not let any of my friends visit there either.

A man threatened me physically and security guards, once directed to him, laughed and chatted with him instead of taking it seriously. Went there for years but will not go after this again. Took two attempts with security after the first patted his back. Still allowed in despite threatening women. Mentioned a refund of ticket and that's when it was taken more seriously. Door man took it seriously and bar staff were supportive but security did not help. did not feel safe to stay.

I loved it here! went with some of my queer friends and we all had a great time! All of the staff were so bloody welcoming, from security, to the ticket guy. Bar service was really quick even though they were busy & they played an amazing range of R&B music! The DJ was so nice & shoutout to Hannah at the bar, she was truly the sweetest! Can’t wait to be back

It's okay for a late drink but not so much for older guys like me.

I went there for few drinks. I was thinking between few drinks at the counter. I ordered Carlsberg and the girl who served me thought I want both drinks Heineken and Draft beer. She poured both and charged me for both. I said I don’t want Heineken but she was so rude that I paid for both but leaving away the Heineken. The girl with round face and pink hair is just rude and don’t know how to work at the bar. Bad service; 2 stars for good vibe and venue

Was absolutely appalled by the security. I was laughing with my friend when coming down the stairs giving each other a bit of banter and security thought we were arguing. We were both laughing at the time and we both got kicked out. Security guy didn’t ask if everything was alright just kicked us out immediately. Owner was there at the time and I told him what happened and he said “that can’t be it, there must have been more”. Very poor

This place is honestly so bad I was absolutely disgusted by the security thinking there above everyone else, my friend lost her phone downstairs after we left and we went back and tried to get it she was allowed in and me and my friend weren’t allowed in even though we had the stamps on our hands and also payed! To get in and I was told I wasn’t allowed to go and help her find it even as she was drunk do not recommend and also smallest place for small drinks

Not a place for women-unsafe ,I have been harassed there, grabbed up and verbally abused. I see that the comments on here are mostly from women describing a unfortunately similar situation and nothing is done. Apparently it happens alot especially by the same man when I spoke to the staff. So why let him in? Yet we have to show our ID'S. We used to love this place, amazing and fun but sadly the recent times we have visited have been (hoping just random insidents) have been repeated. I have to say the manager was really good and understanding which was a positive. Hopefully something will be done...

Incredible place, lovely bouncers/security and super friendly staff make this the best late night venue in Kingston. Very welcoming, cosy late night venue with a friendly crowd and surprisingly cheap drinks considering the steep entrance fee!

I asked for the best value drink and the response was ‘if you can’t afford it, stay at home’. impossible to recommend this

I use to study in Kingston uni and I use to go to this bar. Last night after all those years I decided to give it a visit. It has been a terrible experience due to the bartender. It was a tall ish strawberry blonde guy with a beard. He was incredibly rude to me and then to my friends. I started observing him and realised he was rude to several other people. I was actually enjoying myself until that point,. Not a great experience! Pick your staff carefully!

5 stars. Was over 10 years since I'd been there and it hasn't changed. Took the younger brothers out and they said "at one point we were in a basement dungeon" and then I knew, I had completed my task.

Bouncers have a superiority complex and think they are better than everyone. Refused to let us in due to the actions of the people in between our friends and us and refused to give refunds even though they were in the wrong and our friends had to leave with us as we were all going home together to be safe. They have no regard for anyone and purely enjoy having a power complex. Not worth the money at all.

Customer service need massive improvements.

Appalling experience. I rang ahead and was told that they were open and that I'd be welcome if I got there before 1.30am. When we got there we were told, in the rudest way imaginable, that we wouldn't get in because they were full. As bad an experience as I've ever had. Shameful.

An interesting place with historical roots, nice atmosphere and great social distancing rules in place. The drinks were very reasonable too :-)

A nice little night club with good themed nights, the staff seem to be up for a good time (apart from the bouncers they can be rude for no reason on occasion) the venue did has a strange odour (please fix) but despite all the negatives it is a decent place.

Fabulous little place, brilliantly decorated too, been coming here many years, and much more relaxed now because of social distancing. Great selection of lagers and craft beers and ales, also great spirits selection, and the friendliest staff in town. 10/10

Coming back to Bacchus after lock down has been such a positive experience for me and my pals. Some of the new rules can be a bit harsh it’s understandable why they have to be like that. The fact we are greeted and shown to our tables by the host is such a cool touch. #bringbackbacchus #nomoresmellydancefloor

Went to the place security turned me away this place use to have class decent music and friendly staff now ....its changed unsafe not friendly bring bk the old management and friendly staff ginger defo got a problem thinks he's hard coz he got a security license and few hairs on his balls .... boycott this place gone down hill

Have only good memories of this place until last friday. Came back after a 4 year break to partying and was having a splendid time meeting new friends and buying rounds of shots only for a security to tell me to follow him outside and kick me out for being inebriated at 2am. I think mot of the people were but hey, i was singled out for slipping on their very slippery and dangerous floor while looking for my friend who had gone missing. Not only this but my personal effects which were left on the table went missing including my house keys, id, and money. The bouncer said he would come back with my stuff but he never did so i walked home to roehampton!!! It was freezing!

Me and my partner was in here Friday night.the doormen was very rude.we left here got followed by 3 men and got attacked..the police was called door staff fone nothing to help..we got followed from your club

Great music on a Tuesday night!

John and jay were extremely rude and kicked me out for stumbling when it was more down to my dyspraxia than intoxication. I paid around 7 quid to get in and shouldn't be thrown out without a valid reason without being reimbursed. I showed them medical evidence of my condition which they refused to look at and also were incredibly dismissive of all evidence I had. The club itself smells like piss but it's only redeeming feature is the crowd tend to be kind and considerate. 100% won't go again unless some sort of compensation is offered
