German Doner Kebab in Kingston upon Thames

Staff always busy chatting to one another and never facing the till. Collected my online order which had drinks and fries missing. No way to contact the store and online service is also useless..

I've always enjoyed GDK. Started when they opened a location in Stratford a good few years back. Found the bread, meat and sauces to be great. But, this place sucked. The people in the kitchen can't help but handle their food with their bare hands. They have the option to wear gloves or use tongs, but every once in a while, they'll grab some salad or bread with their hand. I'm not confident in their hygiene practices.

Got a mixed kebab. Was very average compared to the branch in kingston

Very oily with very little filling. We ordered a panini and quesadilla, which is our usual order. Over the past few orders, I have noticed the filling is virtually nonexistent, and it's drenched in oil. It makes you feel heavy and sick. The fries are bland and tasteless.

Rude unhelpful staff Ignored instructions

Ordered the OG Wrap. Mostly salad. No sauces given. A bland, insipid meal altogether. A total waste of time.

Food portions are small and they put too much salad and not enough chicken/meat but they gave 3 types of sauce and all the sauces are very Tasty.

30 minutes late chip's stone cold never again piss poor.

I asked for a panini with no onions. The lady serving me then seemed to think that no onions meant no tomatoes! I said no I want want everything else just not the onions. I received my panini with the diner meat and onions and nothing else. Also I paid by cash and they didn't have money in the till to give me the correct change.

The portions are large and delicious.

I didn't have any sauces, which is usual. The chicken was ground into very small pieces.. Rather, waste from cutting chicken meat.

Received a cold kebab, and it was quite disappointing. The flavors didn’t come through well, and the texture suffered. It felt like it had been sitting for a while, impacting the overall taste. Hoping for a warmer and fresher experience next time.

The food arrived cold and felt like they had just thrown it in the packaging have had many home deliverys befor perfect We spent £40 and it looked a mess and very cold

Great meal and great service the only thing that let the experience down was we sat directly under an extractor that was blowing out cold air and with the weather turning even colder the last thing you need is to be trembling whilst having your meal. We did speak to the young boy unfortunately he was no help.

Awful kebab,small in size, compares nothing to the real thing. Meat was fatty and tasteless. No sauces were included. Bread was not toasted. Made with no gloves. I wouldn’t go there again if it was the last fast food place on earth. Actually prefer to throw up and I wouldn’t feel sorry. Fries were okay. Crispy and not too much salt. Guy at the desk was okay as well. Do not bother going unless you are given for free, even then consider going again!

First time trying out this place tonight.portion sizes were very stingy.small portion of chips and not a lot of chicken in kebab.specifically asked for no sauces in my kebab and spicy sauce was put on.paid over 10 pounds to get home and have sauce I didn't ask for on my kebab.ruined my dinner.When we contacted the shop to let them know, they had zero customer service skills and were offering no compensation just sorry.wont be going back again.

Tasteless food. Really small portion even though I paid £2.50 for a large one, but still barely any meat. Dirty tables and seats. It was my first and last time going there.

Be careful with the company brand here. I lost my cell phone while eating at the Stratford branch, so I asked if they could check the CCTV, but this was a low-quality company that bothered me and unceremoniously kicked me out. It's very comparable to KFC next door.

The staff are really very polite and the food is very good.

£15 for kebab crunch which wasn’t crunchy because Doritos were soggy curry fries ok but kebab meat was cold btl of coke was best thing come on GDK I’m not surprised there was no one else in there.

Found plenty of hair in my doner which was delivered, absolutely appalling. Called the New Malden branch, they laughed.

So! Good! amazing tasty food, very quick service. the flavours were on point, the sauces and the meats. Would especially recommend the chicken. Prices are very reasonable and the servings are generous. Limited options for veggies but what do you expect from a kebab shop

I order 2 OG mix kebab meal and cheese chilli bite spend over 24 pounds the food was so disappointing chips was very cold and soggy the kebab was very oily the bread was soged with oil from the meat I was in the shop and I was watching them how they preparing my food there where 6 staff members in there shop there shop was very quite I was and one more customer they managed to give my order wrong instead of giving me curry's chips they put 2 plan chips so I have to ask them for my curry's chips 6 staff members but no one no what they are doing all are college students sow they don't have any experience in customer service or how to prepare food just would like to say is was very disappointed spent over £24 and food was not eatable very cold not worth of try don't go just waste of money

My two children enjoys their doner box meals but 2for1 Tuesday should extend to doner boxes hence the prices are same or very similar to main meals.

Ordered today! My husband eats here at lunch in New Malden and he says they have good half-off lunch deals which give you so much for your money. He raves about it so often that we ordered it off Deliveroo when WFH today. It was incredible - the Quesadillas were fab and the wraps are a totally different vibe again and so filling! Love the flavours. Would definitely have again - must get in for an in person visit soon.

The portion size has gotten bigger over the last few months. I usually get the original, which is fine. I like the end of the bread when it has soaked up the liquid sauces. £5 mains is not bad. However the meat is a little plain, and I am a little bored of it now. You get more for your money at a small time kebab shop too. I've tries the spring rolls, they are middle-of-the-road too. Service, cleanliness and atmosphere were fine - I like visiting at a quiet time.

Use to be regular customer but last 2 takeaways been awful… Last time it was toooooooo much salad… this time we requested for no salad and found at home while eating that it was only tortilla n little bit of meat and that’s all… it was no souce whereas I specifically mentioned the sauces… disappointed

There are loads of great restaurants in New Malden, sadly this isn't one of them. We hadn't had GDK before so a bit of confusion over how we get served but eventually ordered the Coco mixed meat and mixed meat wrap. Cheesy and spicy chips. There were three or four thin ribbon like strips of something that resembles plastic which I think was supposed to be meat. Then a few taters of something else honestly unidentifiable. Frankly seen more apetizing pet food.. The Coco thing was is a pocket of something pink that disintegrated when picked up, inadquate disposable fork was provided. It gets pretty ugly when you attempt to eat this stuff. The wrap was brittle and tastless. Very small potion of chips, had either a bright yellow paint like substance or a heap of spice salt stuff drenching them ...vile. No wipes for hands or hand sanitiser. This place looks like it seats about 30 people, there is one toilet which is also for disabled use and baby changing area. Washing your hands could take sometime, though I can't think of a reason why this place would ever be busy. Wish I'd read the reviews before we ate there. Place is spotlessly clean and the only member of front house staff working was charming. Hence the two stars. But as the purpose of a visit to this place is to eat not sure the stars are relevent.

This is the best kebab meat my missus and I have ever tasted the Dorito burger is absolutely amazing the kebab is lovely the bread you get with it is just delish highly recommended for someone that's never been here before

My husband and I visited Thursday lunch time. They are doing promotion MON-THUR main £5 ( around 6 choices) The lady staff was very friendly and helpful with an order. Serving fast!! And tasty was fresh and good! Would be better if I have more sauce inside. I will ask next time !! And ordered cheese chips. Was great 👍 I will visit next time and try other mains 😬😬

Absolutely disgusting food. The meat is stale. This is the second time I’ve ordered and received meat that feels like it was leftover from yesterday and just reheated. Revolting place.

Loved the kebab here. Really tasty and loads of different varieties. The only thing I would say is they are a bit tight on the meat. Looks great from the front, no filling at the back. Other than that it's well made and good quality.

Ordered via delivery. Food lacked anything remotely interesting. Eating it made me regret not cooking at home. The wrap was tasteless (maybe this is the lean meat?) and felt absent of sauce. Fries came with a drab artificial cheese sauce served with (more?!) cheese bites, I was sick of cheese before long. Every late night kebab I've ever had in life has tasted better than this.

Don’t buy the boxes kebab the staff are properly filled up . Our boxes turned out to be half empty. Woking branch is much better and got better customer service

WORST BRANCH OF KEBAB I HAVE EVER EATEN FROM!! 1. Food (meat) was NOT fresh. It was very dry and chewy. 2. I asked for NO ONIONS and they gave me a HUGE PILE OF BLOODY ONIONS! 3. Portion size was ridiculously small. I had more onions than salad and meat combined. They guy at the tills answer for everything was yeh yeh yeh and then gave me exactly what i didnt ask for!! I spent all night up with an upset stomach until i eventually threw up. Took me a week before i felt better. AVOID THIS BRANCH

I ordered Dover krunch burger meal. Bun was burned. Extra pickles and jalapenos were just 3 pieces. It was total small amount that I paid over £10. Also, when he packing the firies, he dropped a lot of fries. Disappointed.

We have ordered from a delivery service in the past and although delicious it’s been cold. But that’s the chance you take and so today we ordered in store. Unfortunately today it’s the coldest it’s ever been! I suspect, despite the shop not being busy and there being 6 members of staff, much of the order was left sitting waiting for the rest of it to cook. So I would say if you’re going to order, make it small, eat in store and expect a wait, regardless of how busy (or not) the store is.

My second time in this restaurant and definitely won't come again! Been charged separately for the drink,chips,donner and dips,as the lady didn't want to offer a meal with that! After my husband paid £27 for a Gym Box,2 donners,one portion of chips and 2 drinks,had to pay again for a portion of chips(wait like 10 minutes after I finished my donner😔) one of the lady gave me free dips,looking like she done to much favour to me,no,you didn't! Initially I asked why they didn't gave us the dips with the meal and my chips,she said sorry,dips not coming anymore with the donner, I said ok, where is my chips,no chips with your order madame, how is this possible? Your husband wanted to pay separately for everything, REALLY? Who wants to pay extra and not getting chips and dips,who don't want a better deal? I tried to talk to her and they all started to talk in them own language...... I quit,even once I didn't hear an apology,I was even not rude or mad,just wanted to have a usually meal which had it in Kingston and Sutton shops!

Kebab and chips. OK b not exciting. Prefer original middle-east kebabs or schwarma. Didn't know Germany was particularly famous for kebabs and now know why!

This must be their worst branch I will not be visiting again. The doner was tasteless and dry, chips missing flaming seasoning despite paying for it. The chicken was way too shredded and crispy almost didn’t taste of meat. When complaining to the manager she didn’t seem to care much and said “ this is how it tastes”.

First experience with GDK. Ordered a few bits from the menu and was disappointed with almost all items. Kebab was served in a doorstop sized slab of tasteless bread with very little meat. Strangely tasteless with what felt like little in the way of seasoning. Won’t be rushing back

True waste of money. Disaster food inside nice packaging. I have ordered twice and spent over £100 S come time it was so bad and cold( definitely was left overs from the night before) that I had to through it out. I called them (new Malden) several times and they did not pick it up. I’m so disappointed as this place was recommended to me. Never again

My order is wrong more often than not. Cheesy fries are regular fries with a half-full minute pot of vaguely cheesy tasting yellow sauce on the side. Fries are cold. Everything you try to order costs extra/is “premium” eg. sauces, orange juice in meal deal etc. Stingy portions all round. Big fan of other GDK branches but this one is not good.

Very very bad service. As soon I order my food waiting for food. I noticed they all speaking there language. I found it very rude in front of customers. This is not polite. As soon food arrives it was cold. I told the lady she didn't want to change it while I am there. Unfortunately I have to take it home and heat it up in the microwave 😤 I dont leave reviews but this one out of order.

I used to order GDK from their Twickenham branch fairly regularly and was always happy, so I was excited when I saw they opened one in New Malden. Unfortunately both this and the Kingston one have been very disappointing - I usually order through deliveroo and unlike the Twickenham branch, New Malden and Kingston have been extremely stingy with the meat and sauces. I pay for extra sauces and they are still half empty. The box I ordered from New Malden was basically just fries and some lettuce and half a handful of meat. They also put flaming hot spice on the fries which wasn't wanted / ordered. Thankfully I got a refund through deliveroo. I love their Döner Boxes but not sure it's still worth the money going forward, which is a shame.

I thought gdk on the outside looked inviting boy oh boy how wrong was I . I had gdk mixed kebab with fries which took 30 minutes and was freezing cold hardly any mixed meat and full off salad and the fries would have been warmer out of the freezer . 7 staff working and their was rubbish on the floor the tables were filthy and service none terrible avoid like the plague was the worst kebab I've ever had I'm sticking to Turkish kebab shops far better and value for money
