Baccalà Seafood & Wine Restaurant - London Bridge in Southwark

I don’t usually dwell on poor service, but this experience left a particularly bitter taste. We arrived at 8:12 PM and were immediately met with pressure from the waiter, who told us the kitchen would be closing in 20 minutes. From the moment we sat down, we felt rushed—not only with our food order but also when choosing wine. The tone was abrupt, and the atmosphere felt more like a last-minute pit stop than a welcoming dining experience. In hindsight, we should have left right then, as it was clear from the outset that we weren’t being treated with basic hospitality. Feeling cornered, we hastily ordered three dishes and a bottle of wine just to avoid missing out. But what followed only added insult to injury. At 9 PM, four more guests arrived and were allowed to order freely without any mention of time constraints. When we challenged the waiter about the discrepancy, he denied saying the kitchen was closing in 20 minutes and even falsely claimed we had arrived at 8:30 PM. Only when he checked the system—which clearly showed 8:12 PM—did the timeline become undeniable. Yet even then, he continued to deny ever pressuring us, despite there being three of us who heard him say it clearly. It was deeply frustrating to be rushed, gaslit, and then dismissed, especially when it became clear that the kitchen was never in danger of closing. We felt manipulated into ordering quickly for no reason at all. Fried Baby Squid (£17.00): Lightly battered but visually unappealing—almost blackened. Grilled Mackerel (£13.00): Well cooked, with a salty sauce and pickled radishes. Pentolaccia Scoglio: A rich and satisfying seafood pasta; easily the standout dish. Decent quality and reasonably priced, though we barely had a moment to consider the options. Despite the good food, the lack of welcome, dishonesty from staff, and unnecessary pressure ruined the evening. We felt uncomfortable from the moment we arrived and were treated with a complete disregard for the customer experience. I will not be returning, and I do not recommend this restaurant.

I came here in 2023 July. Although I just started to use Google review, I still remember this restaurant I had in London - definitely one of the worst restaurants in London, both food and service.

We had a fantastic evening at Baccala. We really could not fault it. We had the bread with a selection of olive oils all selected by the brilliant Elif. I had no idea you could have an olive oil tasting menu. So good! We then had oysters, fresh and delicious and the best mackerel dish I have ever tasted. For mains we had the cod pesto pasta and the squid. Both excellent! For dessert we had the legendary tiramisu and the panacotta! I’m not even a tiramisu fan and I loved it and would go back just for that! We also had the wine tasting menu and the wine was delicious. If you haven’t been yet, GO! You won’t be disappointed by the food, the venue or the lovely team. Thanks for having us!

One of the most delicious meals I’ve had in a very long time

While the food at Baccala was undeniably delicious, my recent birthday celebration was unfortunately marred by several organisational issues that impacted the overall experience. We were informed that for parties over eight, a set menu was required, with main courses confirmed 72 hours in advance. I confirmed for six initially and mentioned I would confirm the seventh the next day. I received no follow-up, so I assumed confirmation could happen at the restaurant. On arrival, I confirmed we would be seven, not eight, and we were reminded that our table was booked from 17:30 to 19:30 – which we accepted. However, throughout the meal, we were repeatedly reminded of our end time, to the point it became intrusive and detracted from the experience. We were well aware of the time and did not need constant reminders. We also did not receive the oysters included in our paid starter selection, which was disappointing. Later, when two guests were unable to arrive in time, we were told we still had to order and take away their main courses, despite the fact they hadn’t been pre-ordered. This inflexibility did not make sense and further added to the frustration. Although the service was generally attentive and the food truly excellent, the overbearing approach and rigid handling of our booking unfortunately overshadowed what should have been a relaxed and celebratory evening. Baccala has great potential – the food is a highlight – but clearer communication and a more flexible, guest-focused approach would go a long way in improving the dining experience for larger groups.

Wow! This place is fantastic. Incredible food, atmosphere and the staff were wonderful. Some good value wine options, too. Highly recommended! Edit 27/04: I revisited the restaurant yesterday, having enjoyed it so much last time. Unfortunately the experience left a lot to be desired, so I have edited my rating accordingly. The food is still very good. However at a 19:30 sitting, the waiting staff were completely overwhelmed by diners arriving, and they never quite recovered. When dining as a party of 2, I am used to being given the counter seats in restaurants (even if I don't much like them). But we were seated next to the waiter station, and it was a very noisy space, with staff speaking loudly to each other and dirty dishes being collected. Perhaps the restaurant needs to think carefully about how many seats they try to squeeze in; I felt the dining experience was badly affected by the space allocated. Beyond seating issues, the service just never overcame that initial rush and we felt rather ignored. Explanations about the different options of olive oil (so well delivered last time) were really rushed and charmless this time. Drinks arrived after the starters, as well. Overall, nothing felt special about the experience this time, which is a shame because I truly enjoyed my first visit.

Hosting a group of 18 is no easy task, but Restaurant Baccalà delivered with professionalism and warmth. For my partner’s 40th birthday, we were welcomed by Fabio, who made everyone feel comfortable from the start and offered excellent wine pairing recommendations. The food was praised by our guests, and I particularly enjoyed the wine-braised ox cheek. It’s an open kitchen—you can see how passionate the chef’s team is, which only adds to the experience. There’s still plenty on the menu I’d like to explore.

Lovely charming and warm place in the heart of Bermondsey with amazing Italian dishes and an accent on fish & seafood. We had the burrata and tuna tartar as starters and the special of the day, baby squids and they were just perfect. To try absolutely is their bread with olive oil, an olive oil you would try nowhere else except Italy and also their tiramisu, creamy and light at the same time, just the perfect touch to end a dinner. In terms of wines, be prepared to an amazing selection of incredible Italian wines, the staff will be able to guide you and perfectly understand your preferences. Just a wonderful evening to have there. I recommend this place.

Great Time! Excellent selection of Italian wines, including a fantastic Amarone. They kindly served it by the glass, but we ended up taking the whole bottle! The oysters were also top-notch. Highly recommended!

The ambiance was so quaint and welcoming...I especially loved the wine bottles all aligned on the stairs. We were a large group so were seated downstairs, where we had the best view of the chefs prepping our meals. The wine selection was amazing - yet so unique to their regions. We enjoyed a sort of appt, one each one better than the last. The entrees & desserts were fresh and lovely and presented so beautiful! Having a beautiful setting and delish food are huge wins, but when it's tied together with a very knowledgeable and polite staff - you're guaranteed for a memorable dinner out!

My happy place evertime I come to l London. If you're a fan of seafood, pasta, wine, and olive oil just make a booking and thank me later. The staff are the cherry on top.

This is a somewhat delayed review as we attended the restaurant shortly before Christmas 2024. I’ve been going back and forth as to whether to post a review which is unfortunately negative, but seeing as how many food options are in the area, the mark up of dishes in the restaurant, and older similar reviews (e.g. hair in food and poor service) I thought it’d be fair to share my experience. 4 of us attended the restaurant for dinner on a Saturday. To start with the positives, the food and the drinks were very tasty (we had a variety of dishes including bread and olives, starters and mains). Unfortunately the meal went progressively downhill after ordering. To recap: - Service started okay but there was some aggressive and consistent upselling. Despite ordering a starter each plus the bread and olives, the waiter kept pushing for a 5th starter for all of us to share. When two of us said we wouldn’t be drinking the waiter acted as if there was something wrong. He also asked that we stopped talking amongst ourselves so that he could discuss the wine list (by the bottle). The upselling continued until the end (e.g. asking to re order our drinks when we weren’t halfway done; shock that we didn’t want dessert - which I will come on to in a second when explaining why we wanted to leave - etc). - I found a hair in my main and, immediately reassuring him that it was absolutely fine, asked if it would be possible to have the same dish remade. The customer service from various staff members here was shocking. First, we were sitting by the kitchen and we had to see a discussion (with some pointing and glaring) about the hair situation. I started feeling pretty uncomfortable but eventually the waiter came, apologised and said a new dish was being made. - We weren’t offered any complimentary drinks or meal (which is common practice) which would have been fine if next, the manager wouldn’t have come to the table and said “I am sorry that you found a hair in the food and we are remaking the dish, but I can 100% guarantee you that it didn’t come from the kitchen”. I was pretty uncomfortable by that point because I thought he had come to apologise. - It didn’t end there. When he left the table (with me saying thank you and no problem, lol) my friend and I said that to each other that my hair was tied up and gelled, so it couldn’t be mine, and my friend pointed up amongst us that we hadn’t even blamed anyone. The hair could have simply come from a waiter carrying multiple dishes back and forth, cleaning up tables, etc. The same manager who was nearby then CAME BACK to reiterate how it could not have been their fault. - My food (which was delicious) arrived by the time everyone had finished their dishes. We decided not to have dessert because the atmosphere was very uncomfortable. Again, the waiter acted as if there was something wrong. - Feeling quite frustrated by this point we asked that service charge was removed from the bill. We got INTERROGATED for this. It took over 20 minutes to get the bill. When the waiter asked why, we explained it to him (even though he was the person who had been serving us) and he said he would speak to his manager beforehand. 5-10 minutes later he said his manager would be around soon to discuss the bill. I literally said to him “We don’t want to discuss anything. Please can you bring it over so we can pay and leave?” Long story short the manager never came. My partner and my friends partner had to go upstairs to talk to him while we waited outside. They came out after 15 minutes or so, since there have been various issues with the bill. Overall, there were no issues with the food but it was such an uncomfortable experience that I would rather eat at a less nice restaurant / lesser quality to avoid a situation like this again.

If you really want to impress someone, Bermondsey street, take them here. Steep prices but everything is done with care and intention. They do a whole selection of olive oils, breads too and it’s all so artisanal and feels truly gourmet. Could be perceived as pretentious but they really nerd out on it - they have corkage and talks events too. And the guys are really nice :)

Excellent seafood, I had a mackerel fillet, followed by the outstanding pentolaccia and red prawns linguine. Cozy atmosphere and authentic italian chef.

Good quality ingredients and welcoming service, you could be in Italy. Wine selection good even by glass and they offered sample to see what I liked. Buzzing on a Saturday night and they welcomed me with my GSP dog. All fresh food though portions are for what I had only just sufficient and for my taste a bit under seasoned. The olive oil with bread was monoculture and delicious. Would recommend.

Came across this in one of TopJaw’s shows so had to try it. Food was very good overall, we stuck with mostly seafood and the place delivered!

I had high hopes for my Valentine’s dinner at Baccalà, but unfortunately, the experience was frustrating. I booked in advance, requesting a window seat, only to be told a week before that there were no window seats (which was fine, as long as we were seated on the main upper floor). However, when we arrived, we were given a high table near the door—not near a window, and definitely not in the main dining area. This was especially disappointing because it was 0°C with strong winds that night, and every time the door opened, a freezing breeze rushed in (you can see the pic). I had to keep my jacket on for most of the meal, which was not ideal for a special dinner. That being said, the food was great, and most of the staff were friendly and accommodating (especially the waiter and waitress taking care of us and understood how frustrating it is to have a special dinner when you're shivering due to the cold) —except for the owner/manager, who seemed annoyed when I asked to have the service charge removed. Given the discomfort and the lack of effort to honour my seating request, I don’t think that was an unreasonable ask. Overall, while the food and staff (aside from management) were lovely, the poor seating arrangement and lack of consideration for the weather really brought the experience down. Would I return? Probably not.

I live just around the corner but only had my first dinner here last Saturday. Compliment to the chef and amazing staff who served us well. Despite reservation made earlier, it was a little wait to have our table ready. Having said that, staff was apologetic and very nice. This is definitely one of four of my favourite restaurants to go to on Bermondsey Street. Oh, dinner was so delicious that we forgot to take photos for this review.

Wine was exceptional. Prawns were how they're meant to taste. Beautiful homemade pasta and lovely staff.

Amazing service, incredible food, absolutely outstanding to work with. I needed to book a semi private dinner for 11 members of a senior leadership team in London on business traveling from the US. I reached out to this restaurant to request availability and they responded immediately. They were incredibly accommodating in planning our dinner and were gracious and flexible through multiple changes of plans on behalf of my group. The food was truly outstanding and the service was superlative. I will be coming back and cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

This place is absolutely amazing! I’m in London for the weekend and came across this gem of a restaurant. The menu is so well crafted. It’s a small menu but packs a big punch. Everything is incredible. My friend and I decided to take part in the wine tasting and thought it would be a great way to get a feel of their wine selections. For dinner we started off with the Burrata On Tuscan Tomato Bread it has Autumn Fruits, Garden Vegetables absolutely delicious. For the mains we got a pasta dish with tons of amazing seafood, Chitarrine, Langoustine, Prawns, Octopus, Squid, Clams, Mussels, Cuttlefish. The seafood was fresh and delicious. We also got a squid dish, followed by a tiramisu. We selected wines that paired beautifully with each course. The service with A1, the staff was so helpful and helping us make our selections. They created a great atmosphere. 10 out of 10 I would definitely recommend

Really great restaurant, one of our favourites in the area. The restaurant focuses on Italian food with lots of fish dishes in particular. The food is excellent with some great taste combinations. As a bonus, they also have a large selection of olive oils to try as an appetizer. The staff is very attentive and caring, providing fantastic service. They make us feel at home. Overall I can highly recommend giving this place a go if you haven't already.

We enjoyed a lunch with 30 colleagues yesterday and choose a group meal, giving everyone a choice of main course and a huge selection of starting sharing platters. Everyone was delighted with the food and ambience and excellent service - highlights included the Buratta, Mackerel, Prawns, quality of the warm breads, Braised Ox Cheeks and Tiramisu. Lovely vegetarian options. Waiter helped us choose a great selection of wines . Really excellent lunch - far surpassed our expectations!

Absolute delight! My partner and I visited Baccala for dinner on New Years Eve and we were amazed at the food, service, atmosphere and welcoming staff. We had some of the italian champagne which is super light and so easy to drink, great pairing to Oysters/ seafood. I was very intrigued by the opportunity to pick the olive oil. The waiter's recommendation didn't disappoint too! The highlight of my dinner would definitely have to be the Calamarata all'Arrabbiata!!! Absolutely sensational pasta! I can't recommend enough this restaurant whether you're looking for a date place or dinner with friends, the atmosphere, the staff, the service and the food is just amazing! Jordan and I will definitely be back soon!

If you ever find yourself in London, you’ll regret if you won’t stop by Baccala! The food is incredibly delicious, carefully prepared, and served in a very cozy atmosphere where you can enjoy a delightful time. Plus, their rich selection of wines was also quite impressive!

We hosted a large dinner at Baccala and it was everything we could have asked for! Fabio was so helpful from start to finish in getting all the organisation sorted and the menus chosen. Our friends were extremely impressed by the food (endless positive comments, including "best tiramisu ever") and the drinks were also delicious (if dining as a group, I really recommend the drinks packages which include cocktails, wine, post-dinner drinks etc.) We even had personalised menus for each person which was a really lovely touch. In short, Fabio and the team were outstanding and we all had a wonderful time. Already looking forward to our next visit!

We enjoyed ourselves immensely - sharing most of the dishes - and were very well looked after by the team.

3.5 from me. So starting with the good. The food is tasty and a great variety of fish dishes as per the theme of the restaurant. Staff and service is good. It's good enough to have a business dinner at, and while they probably wouldn't mind I wouldn't necessarily take my kids here due to the more adult nature of the venue. Sitting downstairs gives your front row seats to the kitchen watching the chefs go to work. Now what let it down for me. The single bathroom for the whole restaurant... A little bit limiting in my opinion. As well as no disabled facilities available when asked if there was a disabled toilet. Edit* seems there is a disabled toilet available

What a fantastic Italian seafood gem in Bermondsey high street. The service was impeccable and such a warm and buzzing atmosphere. The food was delicious, especially the octopus starter, the black squid ink calamari, the sourdough bread with the two choices of olive oils (this was awesome) and the super tasty seafood linguini stew (my God, I wish I knew how to cook this- it was heaven!). I’m so excited to return to Baccala’ again 🩷

This place was DIVINE. We had the set menu & initially I was a little nervous it wouldn’t be enough food but it was PLENTY. Such great value for money, huge portions, incredibly fresh and well seasoned seafood too. Great wine & drinks list and staff were so lovely. Will be back!

A great seafood restaurant, we loved everything from the range of olive oils to pair with the bread through to the more complex seafood pasta dishes. The pasta is incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked, and the range of seafood - octopus, mussels, squid, whelks - we had was uniformly great. The grilled octopus was a stand out dish for me and it’s definitely a place I’d revisit on special occasions.

We went to Baccalá to celebrate my mum’s birthday. The food was delicious and the service was spot on. Very happy we shared dishes as they were all delicious. The pomegranate spritz was a great twist.

We had a private dining event at Baccalà following our wedding, and we couldn’t have been happier with the food, service and overall experience. The staff was attentive and considerate. The set menus were varied and delicious and accommodated our vegan guests as well. Thank you, Baccalà, for helping to make our special day even more memorable!

Food was pretty good overall. Not amazing but nice: - Ousters were good - Burrata starter quite average and way overpriced for £24 - Fried squid was delicious and unique - Gnocchi with clams was great, other other gnocchi was underwhelming and tiny - other fish dish was good. Service. They literally interrupted our conversation 3 times for no particular reason, please try to read the room and find a better moment to drop a menu… They also seemed to wash to push higher priced wines quite hard without much knowledge Overpriced for what it is

We had dinner here recently and we're both a little disappointed. There was nothing wrong with the food or service but it didn't feel special for the prices they charge. If anything we felt the service was over attentive. The seabass carpaccio was a bit tasteless though the dressing on the courgette was delicious and all we could taste. The bread basket was a bit small. Main courses were OK but nothing outstanding. If we're going to spend over £170 for 2 people we'll go elsewhere next time.

Recommended for Seafood & Wine. Be sure to try the calamari. Since the operations manager is Turkish, you can ask any questions you want. It's a place where mostly local people come and know it, definitely check it out. It is recommended that you have it done. The flavors are very good. 👍🏻🦐🦑

Love these guys. They're so good. Top notch food, excellent location with one of the best views of Bermondsey Street (try sitting outside facing the street - you'll want to get pictures!) and and the service is outstanding. So much knowledge and such good recommendations. Absolutely recommend to anyone who enjoys excellent food with warm and welcoming service!

Popped in last night for a lovely glass of bubbles and some oysters! Service was excellent and the team adjust so knowledgeable about everything that they serve. It makes dining there a complete pleasure.

Loved the place! Everything from the service and the atmosphere to the food quality and presentation was outstanding. All the staff are very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful in describing the dishes and suggesting wine pairings. A special notice should go to the extra virgin olive oil menu that could be picked for the bread basket (as well as bought from the restaurant). Can highly recommend the oysters tasting, sea bass carpaccio from the starters, Cornish squid and linguine with prawns for the main, the quality of ingredients is excellent and the flavors are nicely balanced. The tiramisu as a dessert is one of the best out there! You will come not just for a great meal, but for an amazing food experience!

We went for dinner and we liked it so much that we went again the next day! The fresh fish is spectacular, all the dishes are delicious. They play very good music and it is very comfortable. Super attentive and charming waitresses and cooks, specifically Vilan.

I’ve always loved Italian food so was excited to experience Baccala for the first time and they truly delivered. Our host Elif was warm, friendly and engaging and seated us at a cosy little table right nexto the kitchen separated by a small glass sheet: here we could see the care and dedication the kitchen team took with every single detail of every single dish. Truly a feast for the eyes. Happy engaged chefs laughing, smiling and super focused on delivering excellence with flair. The head chef even popped to our table to say hi. Christian our server was fabulous at talking us through dishes and getting us some great wines to pare. Our oyster starter with 3 different types complemented by the home made Tabasco was incredible. BUT the main dish potato gnocchi, clams etc was probably the best pasta dish I’ve had in my life. Thank you Baccala for a truly exceptional evening. I will be back very soon!!

Bustling little Italian gastronomic treasure in the heart of Bemondsey

Amazing food! Tiramisu is a top notch, highest quality in London you can get! Service is also nice! I liked the homie feeling this place created. The only thing - they need to improve outside tables - it wasn't busy but tables are too close to each other if the place would be full - you would definitely feel isolated for sure.... Also restroom downstairs is very small (only for one person) and is quite dark with minimum lighting. I understand is for modern minimalistic design and interior. But I have a feeling if place would have been full - I wouldn't have enjoyed experience for washing hands or waiting in the queue for restroom use. So something to think about while going during busy days. But overall highly recommend for an amazing food! And wine was also good btw.

We came last night and congratulated the owner personally. The dishes were really fresh and full of flavor. We really loved the seafood pasta! We certainly will be coming back and will recommend to other friends.

It was my third time in this restaurant, and it was very pleasant to see that it continues to be as good as the first time. Food is fresh and tasty, and the wine selection is excellent. I'll be back!

I have been to Baccala previously however, the second visit was an utter disappointment. The food was not as great and something felt off, informed the manager that we weren’t happy of the catch of the day which was bland and he just took on feedback than helping us replace or deduct. Since the weekend, 2/4 guests have got food poisoning from the Oysters and informed the restaurant, they were defensive and claimed no one else reported any issues, which is what they have done for other negative reviews. They aren’t so helpful, therefore, we wouldn’t recommend this place

Enjoyed a delightful set lunch with my partner last week at a nearby restaurant we'd never tried before. Regret not discovering it sooner, as the cuisine is truly exquisite. Admittedly, I hesitated initially due to its seafood and wine focus, which aren't my preferences. However, we decided to give it a try and were pleasantly surprised. We indulged in a couple of appetisers; I opted for the vegetarian pasta while my partner savoured the mussels carbonara. For dessert, we both had the tiramisu, which was exceptionally creamy and possibly the best I've ever tasted. I'm tempted to go back and ask for it again. The contemporary and relaxing interiors complemented the experience, and the staff were wonderfully amiable. Without a doubt, we'll be returning.

The staff were lovely and paid attention to every detail! The food for the price felt hit and miss. Nothing wowed me, aside from perhaps the oysters. The tiramisu was quite powdery. Would I go again? Probably not, but a decent place to stop by if you’re in the area

A delicious seafood restaurant for fish and wine lovers! The restaurant offers a selection of fresh and very well prepared fish dishes. The wine list is also excellent, with a vast choice of labels that pair well with the dishes proposed, especially on the advice of the owner Fabio, who perceives the professionalism and attention to what he offers. The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming, perfect for a special evening or for a dinner with friends. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a great dining experience and also a different one!

Delicious fried squid and seafood pasta. All the food we eat was just great. They also have a good selection of wines. One problem was the inside of the restaurant was a little bit unventilated. Food smell will be all on your clothes.

Very delicious food, friendly service. Their olive oil and bread was the I’ve eaten in London. Baccala Mantecato was my fav from their menu.

Very good seafood focused, high-end Italian. The staff were exceptionally accommodating to me and the food was too notch, using well sourced seafood. The level of cooking was higher than most Italian restaurants in the UK and the fresh pasta I had maintained its bite whilst letting the delicate flavours shine through.

Just the best. My go to place whenever I want to go on a romantic date with my partner, or celebrate an achievement with my friends. Superb food, atmosphere that brings me back to hospitality as we do it in the Mediterranean (beautiful, elegant room without being stuffy nor staged). An all win!

Absolutely excellent quality Italian food that puts their neighbour Murano to shame.. This is the real deal, my black squid were so delicious and light, followed by pasta that was looked simple yet packed real punch.. And the olive oil with the bread was truly the first where I've thought that's exceptional.. If you like Manteca you'll love it here...

I finally managed to try Baccalà and I’m ecstatic! I’m an Italian living in London for 10 years and I can tell you this restaurant is on my top 3 favourite Italian restaurants in London and on my top 5 restaurants in London in general!!! I loved it. Let's delve into the highlights of my extraordinary dining adventure. The starters were a symphony of flavors and colors. The sourdough bread, accompanied by artisanal guttiau bread and a selection of exquisite extra virgin olive oils, set the stage for what was to come. The Raggia oil, with its robust flavor profile and silky texture, was an absolute revelation. I had a very refreshing limoncello spritz. Also, the roasted octopus with colonnata lard and the whipped salted cod on polenta croutons were exceptional. Paired with Inzolia white wine, light and crisp. Moving on to the mains, The sardines with parsley bread and puntarelle salad offered a refreshing burst of flavors, while the monkfish with guanciale, wild fennel, broad beans, and chicory was a masterclass in culinary perfection. Each dish was expertly paired with a fine Cirò Bianco, elevating the dining experience to new heights. Dry and well-balanced. Of course, no Italian meal would be complete without pasta, and Baccalà certainly did not disappoint. The potato gnocchi with clams, turnip tops, and bottarga was a heavenly indulgence, perfectly complemented by the crisp and fruity Grechetto Umbria wine. And let's not forget about dessert, where Baccalà truly excels. The classic tiramisu was a decadent delight, while the clementine millefeuille with sambuca pastry cream was a delightful surprise. I loved it, did I say that already?!

Everything that cane to our table was absolutely stunning! Nice atmosphere combined with delicious food is always a delight to experience! Strongly recommended!

What started as a promising dining experience with the most delicious olive oil and sourdough bread, ended as a complete fiasco. The £25 sea-bass carpaccio was topped with pine nuts that were overpowering. You could not taste the fish or the fennel citrusy sauce. The portion was ridiculous for that price point. Then came the gnocchi with wild mushroom in the weirdest combination - black olives, turnips, and chunks of cooked garlic. Everything was so bitter because of the turnips. I also had a leftover strong tanning feeling in my mouth from the pine nuts. It was bad. The first time they brought the dish it was also very spicy. Spicy gnocchi is an abjection. Spicy gnocchi with wild mushrooms is insane. I cancelled my second plate as I was not risking to get another fiasco and explained to the server what was wrong. She replied “we are sorry we did not live up to your expectations”, as if my expectations to get a decent plate of gnocchi for £20 plus was something out of the extraordinary. She also included the dish in the bill although they managed to screw it not once, but twice. The service was not bad, but lacking professionalism in detail. I had to remind the server about the wine a couple of times and the things were coming out quite hectic. They seemed overwhelmed on a Saturday night. We left and had an amazing cod at Pizarro next door. Happy I did not waste some extra money there.

Cosy little restaurant walking distance from London Bridge in one of the most cosy streets of Southwark. They serve Spanish influenced food. It might look quite simple and basic, but it’s super tasty. Value for money a really nice place in a neighborhood away from the tourists

We finally managed to go and try Baccalà restaurant, and it was an absolute delight experience! It definitely meets our expectations. Staff was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. The Ambience was pleasant and tasteful. We loved the menu options, and we liked all the dishes we ordered. Spotless. Highly recommended.
