Babosh Restaurant & Cocktail Bar in Eastbourne

The food was amazing no doubt but the service was awful! The waitress took the drinks order and came back twice and still needed to check. I waited a further 15 minutes for my drink. We then waited almost 30 minutes for the staff to come back and take our order. We were told that there was no pita bread, my frown ordered a diet lemonade only to be told later it wasn’t diet after drinking. The margarita had something fizzy in and didn’t taste like a margarita, but having waited ages for. Like I said the food was lovely. We were still eating our starters when they bright the mains out but the table hadn’t been cleared so had to fumble around to make room. Then had to wait for new cutlery. We wanted to order coffees at the end it to be told that there was none. The waiter brought over Tequila shots as an apology for the coffee but there was no lime or salt to go with the shots. Again the food in general was amazing but there was a huge lack of organisation.No loo roll in the loo and it wasn’t busy so we didn’t really get why the service was long it was.

Sadly was a little disappointed. Visited for a works do, colleagues birthday. Food - was ok, but pretty average. My rice was only just warm, salad came out as shared to help yourself in a bowl, didn’t know what dish it was for and how much to take/leave as to who was having what on the table, was pretty awkward to lean over and try and serve, limited space on the table. Would prefer on my plate where there was lots of room. Skewers are not on skewers, just plopped in the bowl. Mixed grill was minimal and lacking. Chips that accompanied were an after thought. Had to ask for a finger bowl for shelling prawns. Constantly had to ask for drinks, didn’t clear starter plates from bread, we had to stack and put at the end of the table when mains were coming out. Didn’t clear after main meal either, again sat for a long time waiting. As a business could have made money on drinks and puddings had they had more staff to be attentive. Service - two young waitresses, new and trying their best, but clearly haven’t had the time to be trained in the menu yet, bringing a dish and when queried which one, they were not sure, at one point questioning, pasta?! Not her fault. Manager needs to spend time and up-skill and train them. Manager himself was lacking, having to chase for drinks, chase for the bill, after asking for it, waiting over 20 minutes to be told they are getting us shots! Thank you, but we were looking to go and you could have offered that at the time of us asking for the bill, not making us sit and wait. Knew we were all fanning ourselves with menus because of the heat. Environment - extremely hot venue. Air conditioning apparently broken, however we were also crammed in like sardines. Waitresses could not reach four/five of the spaces, were constantly having to lean over people, we were back to back with the next table. Really spoilt the service and atmosphere. We shouldn’t have to pass someone’s dinner through six people! I’m all for helping when things are a bit tight (I have been a waitress) but very poor set up. Such a shame as the venue were trying, but they need to tweak and get it right. With a huge competitor in town, for ambience and service we are likely to go back to the other place unfortunately. Think of this as a quieter family lunch place rather than a top quality evening out. Such a shame as could have done better.

Walked in after a few drinks in town and the staff were lovely and accommodating, we were able to order the platter although quite late and the food was amazing! Complimentary bread and dips, mixed starter and platter included some of the best haloumi, sucuk, salad and grilled meats we have had! The lamb kebabs were the best!

Visited here for a friends birthday, not our first visit. This is our go to restaurant. The staff are lovely and you feel like you are well looked after and the food is delicious, the Lamb chops are to die for!!!! We was really looked after and even got free shots.

We called in to Babosh on Thursday lunchtime and was very glad we did. We were the only guests but were made most welcome and the lunch time special menu at £14 was very good value. It included a choice of a soft drink, a glass of Prosecco or a glass of red wine folllowed by a hot starter and a hot main course. Plus complimentary bread and dips. Well done to all the staff, we shall definitely return soon

Visited here Thursday evening solo whilst travelling with work. The service was great. The food was lovely. I’ll definitely return when I’m next in the area

Just wow… what a fantastic restaurant from food to service to entertainment From the moment we arrived we was tested very well the man waiter was so friendly and Helpful with our food choices The food was delicious and the portion sizes are huge and 100% worth the money. This restaurant is completely out of the way and on the outskirts of the town centre but is worth a visit and one you won’t be disappointed for The decor inside is also modern and stylish and fits perfectly to the vibe the restaurant gives

We had a great night here with lovely food and background music. The atmosphere was fantastic when the belly dancer appeared----she was wonderful!Everyone was clapping,dancing---joining the drummer and having fun,it really made our night! We look forward to another party night here!

Amazing food and quality as always, we try to visit whenever we are in town and the staff and food always deliver the perfect combination. We have also had several family meals and again always perfect. Like all restaurants, they can get busy at peak times, use the time wisely to engage with partners and loved ones whilst you wait for the food, it will be worth the wait.

Fantastic atmosphere, very generous portions, beautifully presented and taste was exceptional. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Really impressed with the meal we had here. Loads of food, all fab quality and the meal came with complementary bread and olives which were much appreciated! Good vegetarian choices too. Would definitely visit again. Staff were all lovely and very attentive.
