I attended the restaurant for a family meal to celebrate a 21st birthday. The restaurant is a hidden gem. Small, but was set out in a way that was not cramped or crowded. Service was attentive and welcoming. A decent varied menu. The food was great, especially the pizzas. Popular so you may need to book ahead.

Tucked in one of the backstreets out of sight of the average tourist. Definitely worth having a look at and the prices are very keen

To actually dine in can't fault it

A lovely Italian restaurant. The place is large and was mainly empty when we went. We ordered pizza, steak, and seafood risotto as well as drinks. The good came out promptly and was OK. The pizza was good as a former new yorker this pizza was very close to a NYC slice. The risotto was a great large portion but I though it was a bit to heavy and could not finish it. My friends 12oz steak was perfectly medium rare and lovely. All in all I might come back but would try some more dishes. This is a great place to catch up with friends or a party. Having my service dog the servers were really kind and very inclusive.

Great little find, excellent service, delicious food, great buzzy atmosphere. We had salad, pizza and mushrooms, all prepared quickly and were all really tasty with a takeaway box for the pizza we couldn’t finish. Brilliant value for money. Highly recommend.

Ordered take out. Portions were huge, fresh and tasty. Was dubious ordering seafood pasta for delivery but was piping hot. Would travel here just for this food again!

Very tasty steak cooked to perfection melt in the mouth, about a 6oz with mixed veg and chips and choice of sauce

Ordered online through just eat, waited for over 2 hours and then it arrived stone cold and when phoned the restaurant they didn’t give a F*** and said it wasn’t there problem terrible place and terrible customer service, instead of leaving the food on the side waiting for a driver, they should of cooked the food when the driver was on his way that way it would of been nice and hot. Would avoid if they carry on doing this

Absolutely delicious food. I ordered the steak and chips which was piping hot when it arrived. Service was speedy and smooth which I was very happy with as I was hungry. Would recommend. Five star.

The food is amazing and the restaurant is very cozy but the staff are very rude. I went with my friends at two separate occasions but we decided not to go back because of the staff

English version of Italian food having lived in Italy for a few years and visit frequently. Very disappointed.miserable staff never smile at all no interest at all..Spaghetti was not carbonara but spaghetti with cream. Usually go to another Italian restaurant in Eastbourne which is wonderful but was fully booked .

Update sept 2023: we used to go here often see review below, alas on arrival the other day, very rude reception from the staff, not acceptable, won't be going here again. Original review: Superb vegan pizzas and salad. Decent icy cold draft beer and pleasant atmosphere. Friendly attentive staff. What’s more to like. Highly recommended. Thanks for making our visit special.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in town, great food and nice staff I recomend trying out the crema risotto

Love this place. Came here for the first time in late August and the service was extremely friendly and prompt. I cannot fault it. The food was excellent hot and amazing value. I will definitely go again.

I came for a lovely meal here back in July and have only just got round to writing a review, a beautiful restaurant with yummy food and lots to offer. waitresses were great too.

Had a lovely dinner at Picasso’s, the pizzas were fantastic! Although we went late on a weekday, we weren’t rushed at all and all staff were polite and very attentive. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Ordered for delivery, so can't comment on the restaurant itself. The food was great, fresh and tasty. One bit of feedback, could do with an option on delivery orders to select how to cook steaks, tuna, etc.

Waitresses were very slow to ask for drink order, I was sat 10 minutes before anyone approached me despite tables both sie of me( who came in after me) being served before me, after complaining girl came to me with a scowl to take my order

Meal and waitress were lovely but todays manageress was very disappointing we felt rushed dispite many empty tables she was borderline rude will certainly make us think twice about returning.

Great staff good price fab food

Wrong attitude. We had a dinner which mine and my wife, we both have grilled vegetables on ours meals. Both vegetables been off bitter and smelly. When we spoke to the girl manager about it, she was trying reassure us was nothing wrong with it. When clearly vegetables been off. No apologizes whatsoever,makes us feel bad that we pointed out. Wrong attitude from manager and other waitress, staring at us and make us feel bad .Besides been there before many times, always good experience and lovely food.

I've been going to Picassos for many years. Could never fault anything. Today I took my elderly friend for lunch, I've raved about it to her, & was really looking forward to showing it off to her. On April 6th I went into the restaurant & asked for a particular table, for today 27th, no problem. On arrival I saw people sitting at the table I'd reserved, an unpleasant waitress told me I can't book a table, it's first come first served, I asked her to look in the reservations book but she simply said the guy who booked us in had left. Not wanting a scene I accepted the table we were given. My friend told me not to worry about it and lets just enjoy our meal. As usual the food was excellent, however, said waitress was noisy, she didn't talk, she shouted & kept singing loudly. What with the noise from the kitchen, (the reason I chose the table furthest away in the beginning) the air con & her, it wasn't a quiet lunch. My friend wasn't impressed.

Picasso's is a big favourite of mine but I was embarrassed to take my friends there yesterday. The service was appalling. Food was excellent as always, but ruined by the sour faced waitress that didn't bother to great us, and made it clear she wanted us to leave by taking the black bin bags out by our table! So disappointed

Just ordered a £13 pizza to collect it was freezing cold a seriously minimal topping absolutely awful

Absolutely rude behaviour from the waitress because I’m an adult asking for a smaller portion size , unfortunately to Say that no wonder the restaurant was dead it’s because everyone was in pomodoro mozzarella where you are allowed to Order a small kids portion

Food - Well cooked and presented taste nice. I had the Calzone pizza. Lunch deal as well. Service - Service was lovely. Waitress who served us made sure we had everything. Offered extra plate and automatic bought us water and cups. Atmosphere - Wasn't overly busy but comfortable. Overall excellent.

If you like food and space for lots of company this place works. We had a table for 13, we all ordered different dishes, and everything was delicious. And more importantly good size portions. Staff were excellent and I would definitely go back again and again.

Great restaurant and the food is delicious. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Portion sizes are good and the prices are very reasonable.

Food was divine but the service was very dissapointing. There were two young waitresses who just kept rushing us throughout our whole time. Immediately asked what we wanted for food after looking at the menu for what felt like less than a minute. Then rushed us into making a decision about desert. Very bizzarre. Would understand if it was a busy time but definitely wasn't. Just made the experience very intense and unnecessarily rushed. Don't usually leave reviews but think the dissapointment my friend and I felt during and after; I couldn't let it go. Such a shame the service let the food down.

Another visit and it was wonderful ….this place deserves to be busy ..the staff are fantastic ,the food is really good and portions generous .i can’t fault this place .young staff are attentive ,polite and professional .this is now my go to place and I just hope that it gets busier and busier because it deserves it .i would recommend this place to anyone …thankyou Picasso’s for a lovely evening xxx

Visited for a family meal as have not been for a meal here for years, forgot how good it was . Food was excellent and very good value, staff very friendly and went out of there way to see that you well looked after even at a busy time. Will not leave it long before going again. Well done all.

My coworkers took me to this restaurant and I was pleased to find a vegan menu! I didn't expect this as this is an old school Italian restaurant. I realised that everyone was getting pasta so I took the hint and ordered one too - and they were right, it was delicious. A disclaimers to vegans: yes I did order the pasta primavera which is essentially tomato pasta which i know we all feel is a cop out as a vegan option but I give my vote of confidence that this is this best pasta I've had in a long time, take the risk! The flavours were great, beautiful sauce and large portions. Not too pricey either. I will be back again with my partner soon!

usually i don't have an issue with this restaurant but my last experience was absolutely unacceptable. my siblings and i went for lunch and the staff were dismissive of us and anything that we had asked for. after our main course (which was subpar, lacked basic seasoning and was incredibly watery), we wanted to have some dessert which we basically had to BEG for a menu and then no one came to take our order even after my brother went and spoke to someone about coming to take the order. each member of staff was dismissive and we didn't even get any service after 30 minutes of waiting and they didn't even come to give us the bill. i will not be recommending this place to anyone.

We came for a family meal after work on Monday. We saw there was a Vegan menu, so thought we’d try things out. We were very pleased with the experience. Service was good, orders were taken correctly, food arrived promptly. Our party of four Vegans...

I have always experienced good service, and the food is great, hence returning customer. However on 6.8.2022 at unchtime a particular waitress had an appalling attitude. We weren't served even after 2 tables turned up after us and they already had food and drink. I tried to call her over, the first time she ignored us and continued to serve other people first. When she eventually came over to our table, her attitude was unpleasant. I asked her politely how come others were served when we arrived before them. Her reply was 'it should be someone else taking your order'. She made us very angry and uncomfortable. We only stayed because my daughter did not want to cause a scene. If the waitress is having a bad day she SHOULD NOT reflect this on her customers. The waitress had long black hair around 20 - 30 years. It's a shame one person can cause an after taste when the food is so good. I give 5 stars for food and the chefs and 0 star for this particlar waitress' service and attitude.

Pretty good with decent pizza portions. The base was thin as expected from the price point. Was too hungry to take a pic but we had the fantasia and prosciutto pizzas. Only downside were the number of flies in the restaurant which was very surprising and we had to protect our plates from them.

As ever lovely meal for all of us and attention to detail re changes for a child and bringing out the birthday cake on cue. Can never fault the meals, service or value for money.

Updated: down to 2* Used to have the best calzone, i was a really big fan, but the last year stopped having it, as the calzone is not even a pizza is just dough with red sauce a slice of ham and a slice of cheese. what im trying to say is that is served nearly empty, guys for £13,95 you can really do better.Today after nearly a year ordered calzone again and again was nearly empty inside. Same thing to Pablo's at sovereign harbour.

Our favourite restaurant. I've been going to this restaurant with my husband, friends and family for many years. The staff are always lovely, the food excellent. My only criticism....... Please can we have different sweets given with the bill? Fed up with chocolate Eclairs,,!!!!!

I'd recommend Picasso's for lunch especially if you'd like a real taste of Italy.
