Went there for motown night based on pictures on website not motown tribute band 1 singer pre paid for meal for 4 not good 😐 watching other people eating nice food not pre paid .overall not good 😐 😤

Great entertainer with a beautiful voice, but no atmosphere, food mediocre and service appalling.

We ordered delivery though Uber Eats. We have ordered players before, and this meal was nowhere close to a sharing meal. The bread was one wrap cut in half, the rice looked like it was from the bottom on a pot and the packing the rice was in was only half full. And they didn’t send our garlic sauce. We will not be ordering from here again, very very poor for £51.50. We also paid for a rapid delivery (25-35 min) the food came after an hour, all in all very poor experience.

Had a great brunch here with friends. it was our first time visiting and our waitress Noelle was very helpful and attentive ! Will come again

The food was amazing and the portion sizes were good too. This was my first time at this restaurant and I didn’t have my hopes too high because I had heard mixed reviews but I was truly impressed by the experience. I want to give a special shoutout to Noelle, our waitress for making our dining experience truly memorable. Her attentiveness and friendly demeanor enhanced our meal and made us feel like valued guests.

The food was very good and very fulfilling. The lamb shush was perfect and all the sides were prepared wonderfully. Thank you to our lovely waitress Noelle who made us feel very welcome and took great care of my family and I. Would definitely go again!!

Excellent venue very lovely definitely with a visit

When you ask for the vegan option and they tell you that the halloumi cheese is vegan, it should have been a warning! Ordered the Chilean wine and got South African wine, which to be fair was perfectly drinkable but not what we ordered. Had to ask for the drinks as the starters had arrived before the drinks. Asked for the halloumi to be substituted with houmous as a vegan option, and halloumi was still in the food when it arrived . Staff really don't know what food is what which is a bit of a worry . Suggest some food training may be required!

I order a lot & collect a lot. Today the wraps turned up burnt kids won’t eat it had to just give them the inside which is disappointing, never had a problem before, also the pots of salads didn’t come either :(

This was my second time coming to Babasheesh in Maidstone. I specifically wanted the Lamb Shank I ordered the first time but unfortunately, it was not available so I settled for the Lamb Sarma Beyti which was very good. The rice side was really good too and complemented the meal well. We were treated to live music and at some point the entire restaurant got up to dance which I thought was a highlight of the evening. I’ll be back and hopefully, I should get my lamb shank next time.

Had a surprise birthday party thrown for me here last weekend. I want to start by saying Dave was absolutely amazing, very helpful and made the evening a pleasant experience. The restaurant itself on the other hand wasn’t so much. Apparently they recently changed management so some aspects of quality of service received might have been down to this. From the moment my wife and I were walking in, the man at the door almost ruined the surprise completely by asking my wife “are you here for the party”. Thankfully I didn’t pay much attention to what he was saying at the time but my wife was quite displeased to say the least. They then incorrectly served us food from a preset 3 course menu instead of allowing guests to order what they wanted, as discussed when booking was originally made. Thankfully the variety included in the preset menu was okay for most of our party and we made the most of the evening with the help of Dave. Few issues with drink orders as well, as other reviews have mentioned but overall was a good evening. If the new management can iron out these minor issues in the future, I can imagine this restaurant being a great place for customers to host various celebratory occasions In Maidstone.

I booked this restaurant through open table about 6-8 weeks prior to the date in question. I was booking this as my post wedding lunch. I have previously eaten here before and was amazed by the food hence why I wanted to book this for my wedding meal. Arrived at the venue on the day and it was locked up, dark and no one to be seen. No answer on the phone. I rang the other branch in Chatham and they informed me that the Maidstone branch doesn’t open anymore on said day. Subsequently had to eat somewhere else and was just not the experience I’d hoped for. I attempted to ring them the following day, after 23 attempts finally an answer - I was told that by the call handler that he will speak to the manager and get back to me. I then went on my honeymoon and have not heard anything since. If I hadn’t of turned up I would be charged £10 per head of not showing- so what happens now I’ve shown and they haven’t! Absolutely disgusting service and ‘after-care’ Shame as the food was wonderful the time we went before.

Saturday night… Once it arrived, the food was good.. however… We arrived at Babasheesh at 7:30 and were told to ‘go and sit down’, as bluntly as that. Not even a ‘sit where you like’ just told to sit wherever, wasn’t even shown to a seat. Once we sat down and started looking at the drinks menu, we realised we didn’t have food menus. It was 15 minutes before we were brought food menus despite there only being 3 other tables occupied (out of approx 12 tables). The young lady serving us was clearly very inexperienced and not very professional at all. Our drinks took a while to arrive and it appeared that the event upstairs was prioritised over the restaurant downstairs. The bell was rung twice on our food before any staff was even around to bring it to us. The lights went off on several occasions and there was a very loud alarm that kept going off. There was no atmosphere and it was awkward. We sat in absolute darkness (apart from some LED’s on the high ceiling) and then once we had finished our food, they turned the lights back on. Saying that the food was good. The chicken was lovely and the Turkish salad was lovely. Just the staff need to work on their customer service.. A LOT. I’d like to add that adding service charge of 12% to our bill that I asked to be removed.

Beautiful place and nice ambiance, when we went it was very quiet but I liked the place quite a bit.

First experience of this place and left feeling extremely underwhelmed. 1 gent running around all the tables in the restaurant as well as sorting out a party upstairs which felt like it was being prioritised. Took horrendous amount of time to get drinks and food . The portion sizes and food quality certainly do not reflect the prices . I must give credit where it is due and the server knocked a round of drinks off the bill but then to be hit with a 20% service charge after the service was nearly non existent was a bit of a slap in the face .Also when the front of house turned the music up to a point where our party could hardly hear one another wasn’t great . If this place had more staff members that could pay more detail to its customers , we probably would haven’t spent a lot more than we did .

Fabulous evening last entertainment tonight 12/5/23 Dj the bollox Tina bloody fab food amazing … sadly the drink service was awful NOT Dave’s fault (he was doing his very best ) as he was the only one on service and one guy on bar our table bill was £160 we could of done £400!! .. we had ONE drink on arrival down stairs and waited over an hour for second drink !!! Awful !!! And the place need a bloody good clean starting with bar tables and shelf’s downstairs GUYS it’s simple… DUST and sticky tables are a put off and you can’t see out the windows 😂😂😂 Well done Dave , DJ & TINA you turned the night around

Great food, friendly staff. Atmosphere was ok,could be more 'intimate' for the event.

Second time of visiting this restaurant after a good first experience but was disappointed this time around unfortunately. The portion sizes seem to have shrunk since the first time we visited. My friend asked for mayo with her meal to be told ‘they are filling the sauce bottles upstairs, I’ll get this for you when they come back down’ by the time she received this she had already eaten half her meal. The waitress who cleared our table had extremely long hair which wasn’t tied back so as she lent over to clear the plates it ‘dangled’ onto our plates. I’m sure this should have been tied back (food hygiene) and I’m glad she didn’t deliver our food to our table for that very reason.

Nice atmosphere in a modern Turkish restaurant. Service was a little bit chaotic but friendly (wrong drinks delivered with a smile). Main course was excellent and delicious, and you watch meat being grilled in the open kitchen. Baklava dessert was disappointing, I'm fairly sure it was defrosted as the bottom half of it was damp and soggy.

Excellence at every level. We went to a Mothers Day Soirée. The service was beyond excellent. The food was delicious and every course more than met expectations the meat was beautifully tender flavoursome and moist (not easy) when you’ve a whole room of diners all eating at exactly the same time. The entertainer Steph was brilliant. We had three people in our party with access needs and they had a lift but also the staff couldn’t do enough to assist everyone. Sam my 17 year old son had a blast as did my 86 year old mother (not easy to please such a broad age range). This was our first visit but we will be back. One more thing :) push the boat out n order the St Emillion if u like red wine it was superb (we drank 2 bottles:)))

Had a family meal out here for my daughters 18th. Amazing food!! Service was great! Will definitely be returning soon.

Evening with ‘George Michael’ tribute act - great way to celebrate any occasion. Food was tasty unfortunately by 11pm no desserts 😔 don’t know what happened there. Would love to know what event involes the trapeze ring?!

Anyone knows when you order delivery it’s likely to lose some of its quality. Not the case with Babasheeh! My goodness, everything was so tasty I was genuinely shocked and thought I’d gone to food heaven. I’ve ordered from them twice already this week and waiting on a delivery from them now too! We had the mixed platter and baba ganoush for starter. The lamb shish was soooo tasty, chicken shish great too. Would have scored higher if they did not have the colour changing lighting that made it difficult to properly see the food and if it did not have endless cheesy house music.

The staff were fantastic especially the manager and the waitress who were fab. Sadly we found out the service charge, which is automatically added goes to the owner/owners and not a penny to the staff. The food tasted amazing but keeping the service charge from the well deserving staff left a bad taste. Hence 1 star

I had an absolutely delightful experience at Babasheesh in Maidstone! The cocktail-making class. What truly set this experience apart was the unexpected joy of complimentary food that perfectly complemented each cocktail. We had an amazing time !! As a group of 10 we were served all at once with no waiting at all, the service was spectacular and the food was out of this world, such an amazing night we will definitely be returning !!

Me and group of friends attended the European event which was standup comedy in Russian language and after party. We didn’t order food but there was option for that. The comedy was funny and the live DJ play good music. Nice place and good staff.

There was no atmosphere but my main complaint is with the food, portions sizes are tiny & im not a big eater but was tiny & the quality just wasn’t there. Definitely wont go back over all it was a disappointment.

Myself and my partner ate here and loved the atmosphere. Staff were welcoming, and the place looked great! Our food came quickly and presentation was on point. Then the taste of the food itself… oh my gosh it was incredible. Meat was perfectly cooked, and the flavours were amazing. Definitely would recommend

Food was good, tiny portions but wasn’t dry. Service was absolutely terrible, drinks tasted watered down (if we actually got our drinks and didn’t have to chase 3x). Then they shoved a red light on the whole time, felt like I was in the red light district

Overall very good indeed. Mixed meat sash for two, it comes with rice btw and asked for bread, no charge. Not cheap but very nice and highly recommend!!!!, book now...
