B Block in Bath and North East Somerset

I work close by so I like to go to b block on my lunch break, I have 30 minutes to have lunch so I sometimes pre order my food, I ordered food at half 11 to be ready for 12, I came down and they forgot to prepare my pre order, they then put this on and gave my order to someone else! I waited over 15 minutes for the food. I however thought this was a one off, I went back in on another day and walked in to an empty place so I was pleased it wouldn’t take long! They forgot to put my order on again! Waited over 10 minutes as I thought they may notice as I could see the poor women on the till was training someone, but no they forgot again and then tried to put it on after 20 minutes of waiting, I then asked for a refund which was done no questions asked, the only good thing out of it was the customer service from the lady on the till who was very apologetic, being a trained chef I do think the service is terrible, there is more chatting than serving. I will not be back to b block any time soon

Does not accept cash, Does not have any food serving between 11.15 and 12pm, not even sandwiches you could purchase? It does look nice and clean, and some staff are friendly but a lot of them doesn't look like they want to be there

Really good, certainly worthwhile

It's ok but keeps closing earlier and earlier. Surely enough people would go on a Sunday afternoon to make it worth staying open. Now it's not even possible to get a pizza in the evening either. Also the quality of the lunchtime pizza has got worse with just cheap tasting pepperoni instead of what they used to have, and prices have gone up :( It was so much better a few years ago.

15 minute wait for a coffee..no thanks ! Staff were pleasant and honest that their “ ticket backlog” would mean a 15 minute wait for a coffee. I can understand that length of wait for a cooked meal but, on the retail margin on coffees , surely you would have a member of staff allocated to making hot drinks..not here seemingly. No problem on cold drinks or food out of their fridge.

The pizzas are great, and there are good deals on the weekends. They are making an effort to encourage some community with quiz nights and other events. Service was a little slow but nothing shocking.

Lovely relaxed lunch for a friend’s birthday. The service & food was great. Choice was to excellent and the lunch deal was good value. Will definitely be back again!

Poor quality food. Worst pizza I have ever eaten. The base was thin and soggy, topping like warm. Don't order pizza if you are going with a group, as they can only manage to cook two pizzas at a time.

Stop here for coffee on a regular basis when out walking. Lovely coffee and staff. Their lunch deal is great.

It very noisy asit has very high roof so does echo. We pick up are cake but had to wait for tea/coffee husband went and got it as was on side getting cold so only 4 stars banana bread and almond cake very nice

Great food, great service and great coffee

Good pizzas but service was pushy to get us ordering and out before the 8 pm deadline. Unfortunately when we booked for a table for 7 pm no one thought it prudent to mention that last order is at 7:30 and the restaurant closes at 8pm .,.. on a Friday! Will use for take aways in future.

Post Parkrun coffee and cake, which was both amazing 🤩. Guinness cake was a particular highlight. Definitely will go again..... Parkrun and B Block of course 👍

What I love about Bloc B is they serve the best coffee in Keynsham, it is always efficient service with a smile, and good value from a creative kitchen menu.

Nightmare to park, pizzia ok nothing to rave about, unlikely to revisit due parking

Enjoyed a Harissa Lamb pizza in a light, bright restaurant. I found the member of staff who served me engaging and generally nice. The only drawback with this fabulous pizza (and other things) restaurant is the very limited car parking, especially as it is off the beaten track. I wish it well. It deserves to fly.

Had a coffee with a friend, nice friendly atmosphere, quite busy but it was lunchtime. Parking a problem, not many free two hour spaces and up to 5hour spaces only pay with app/card. A lot of double yellow lines outside houses.

Nice little cafe, I've been in for breakfast a few times and it's always been good. Gets fairly busy on a Saturday morning due to the nearby park run, but service is still fast and the food is still good!

Nice food, great service but marking down as yet another coffe place which won't accept cash...really is unacceptable...going to try and not return for this reason

Came here for the easter family fun day and it was great! It was very busy, a little wait for my drink but was notified about this at the till and didnt take any longer than stated. Food was great, lots of selection, presented nicely. Staff very friendly and polite, extremely efficient clearing tables and wiping them down etc. Will be back again, along with family.

My fiancée and I have visited a few times, the wait staff are always very friendly and very hospitable. This occasion was no different, we were greeted with a smile, we ordered a pizza and two coffees. The pizza was served to us quickly and was as delicious as ever. Would definitely recommend and have recommended to friends.

Came to B block today for lunch with some friends. The food was fantastic and the staff are really friendly. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. We will be back!

I have no idea who is in charge of this place but they should keep an eye on their staff. There is 6 crew who do absolute nothing. Just chatting behind counter not paying attention to till area or cleanliness of the tables. We ordered pizza and they didn't even bother to pass the order to chef. I have to say I was disgusted. While preparing our pizza the chef was swapping between pizza dough and his phone regularly. Typing his messages and watching whatever. On top of that he didn't forget to brush his beard with his hands. I can't tell better about other crew. Cleaning their noses with hands and brushing hair with fingers. I worked in restaurant business for years and I can tell this place have no idea what hygiene, cross contamination and good customer service means! If you don't have a manager who would put your crew in place please hire one!

Great place to visit after a walk round the chocolate quarter grounds. Now allows dogs, so will start using as we walk a lot around the area. Food good, and pizzas look great, but I'm yet to try one.

Visited on a luchtime with a friend. The queue to order was long, with the staff not having any kind of system to get the queue down. Eventually ordered food and had to wait a long time. We had to remind the staff we had not received our food. The coffee looked and tasted like dishwater.

This place is the best value for money real Mediterranean food anywhere. Its unpretentious but gorgeous and don't tell them but it costs less than it should.

We live locally and often go for a walk and call in for a coffee and a rest, it's warm and clean and the coffee is great.

Will NOT take cash. Very sad indeed.

Came in for a coffee, really nice cappuccino and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The Christmas decorations are up and looked really tasteful and created such a cosy atmosphere to sit and relax. Also impressed with the level of cleanliness, the cafe tables were cleared really quickly and the whole area including the loos was spotless.

I've had more than a few coffees / hot drinks from this place to give them the benefit of the doubt but every time it has been absolutely appalling. Stick to black coffee otherwise you will be sorely disappointed! I have 6 years barista experience so I can tell that this place do not train their staff on the coffee machines properly - it's not a good sign when you hear the coffee machine SCREECHING. A good idea would be to invest in proper barista training. Redo the customer service training while you're at it because no one smiles, no one says please or thank you, no one even says hello, you're just met with a blank stare until you say your order. Very overpriced for VERY poor quality and service.

Good pizza with authentic Italian ingredients of best quality

After visiting it’s neighbour Somer dining for lunch a week before we decided to try there pizzas! I’ve read some of the reviews on here and got very excited about the praise for pizza and service! Obviously ignore the odd bad one.. everywhere has bad days. We arrived and a lovely young lady took us to our table we was in the lovely little sofa/booth area very comfortable. Water and menu was done as soon as we sat down, drink order was taken and they arrived very quickly. Nice and attentive service. I had the braised ox cheek pizza and my husband had ventricina which the lovely waitress explained with the menu that it’s a “fancy pepperoni” and they was both incredible! The flavours together was very nice! Perfect venue for a pizza place. Definitely better then the big brands. You can even see them be prepared and put in the lovely stone and wood pizza oven. A couple more tables came in but not as many as I would of thought being on a lot of people from the estates door step. The lovely lady who served us in Somer dining was also working In the pizza place she notice us and came over to check if everything was okay and said it was lovely to have us back with them. Little things like this doesn't go unnoticed. The pizza chef even came over at the end of the meal and thanked us for coming and asked how the pizza was. Amazing customer service. Menu - very big selection on pizzas, anti pasta, wine list very good choices and plenty of choices with larger and spirits too. Overall another amazing visit! Not to sure why it wasn’t full on a Friday night but we will definitely spread the word! See you all soon

Delicious food at a really decent price and friendly, efficient service! I've been many times to B Block for both lunch and dinner. The lunch meals are so reasonable (£4.95 for 3 salads and a flatbread) and the pizzas are delicious too. We've always had really friendly service and nothing is too much trouble for the servers. Coffee is good too 👍

Had lunch here yesterday. We all ordered pizza which was very good. The problem was less to do with the quality of the food and more to do with the quality of staff. It took far too long to be served, and the guy that did eventually look after the table wasn't very good. He would handle our drinks by holding the top of the glasses leaving dirty fingerprints around the rim. Whilst carrying plates of food he would have his thumbs turned into and touching the food. This is just not acceptable during times of covid.

Went here with grandchildren after school. Lovely staff. Perfect little treat for after school.

I’ve only had brunch here not pizza. The coffee is good. And I have noticed they do now stock a vegan cake option. My experience of eating food here way bad. I asked to make the avocado on toast began. But they buttered the bread. Then I asked if I could have a pot of olive oil to drizzle of the dry bread and it seemed like an impossible request. In the end I was so embarrassed for myself as I felt like I was asking too much I said I didn’t want the food. But like I said good coffee and the brunch menu is value for money if you don’t have any dietary requirements

Do great breakfast rolls in the morning and good selection of pizzas in the afternoon. Food a little pricey but quality is very good

Pizza is the big deal here - they have a large wood fired pizza oven. Gluten free pizza needs to be ordered 24 hours ahead, but it's worth the wait. The pizzas include traditional and more modern offerings. All of the pizzas were excellent, including the gluten free one. So much better than Pizza Hut and Dominos GF offerings. And better than Pizza Express too.

Well organised felt safe as they were sticking to the rules.

It's a lovely place, with good pizza and epic sausage rolls. The staff are great, and they've done an excellent job dealing with covid misery.

My first visit to B Block since lockdown in March 2020 and I wasn't disappointed. COVID-19 safety measures are in place but it was such a treat to go back there for a wonderful breakfast and to welcome customers back there was 25%off just for October. Thankyou B Block 👍.

The pizzas are delicious when served hot, I have bought pizza on three occasions since the take out service resumed when lockdown restrictions eased, and only one has been hot. I live close by so it was not as if the journey home played a part, the pizza had obviously been cooked some 10 mins before my allocated collection time (I was not late collecting) how can timing be so difficult? My advice is turn up early.

Just popped in for a coffee - brilliant! Friendly, polite staff, superb coffee and an exquisite bacon on sourdough sandwich. Superb!!

Staff were lovely but unfortunately that’s where the positives end. Cold and non atmospheric we decided to give it a try as the place only had 4 other customers in there and we wanted to show our support. Arrived approximately 19.45 ordered food and drinks , starters and mains (pizzas). Food arrived in good time, halfway through eating the pizzas my daughters realised there was no mushrooms on their ham and mushroom pizzas ( after we spoke to them they then cooked up some and arrived in a bowl). We were then informed at 20.45 that the kitchen closed at 20.30 and we were told the doors would be locked at 21.00, i don’t think we will be showing our support there again., shame.

They offer a limited menu but it has plenty of choice for everyone, the quality of the food is excellent & the staff are very helpful.

Oh dear. Place is lighted up like a train station, staff is hiding chatting behind the bar (if not on their phone). It was 3 tables when we arrived and 2 when we left so staff wasn't stretched that much. The good: My pizza was good (Coppa Salame), the kids pizza was nice as well and the dough is good. The bad: You have to go to order at the bar and pay up front like in a pub. They sell Noccelara olives on the menu, but they bring you some anchovy flavoured Gordal olive instead (without any comments) ?? The Spinach and aubergine pizza came with raw aubergine, and the same Gordal olives anchovy flavoured, sliced on top (good touch for a vegetarian pizza!!). They never took to the table the child drink, included in the menu. Never came back to check at the table to see if we were okay with what has been delivered. I have had to go to the bar and get some napkins myself. That place gone down hill. Shame as it was one of the only exciting thing happening in Keynsham.

Its a nice bright restaurant, i had the pulled pork Pizza. It was tasty but not spicy at all as advertised. A negative would be you can only park there for 2 hours

Nice building, friendly staff no complaints there but the main attraction of the pizza quite simply wasn't very good. Shame as a friend was raving about the place, hence my visit and subsequent bemusement at what was served. Glad that I went for a visit but I'm sure a better pizza can be found elsewhere in Bristol.

We had a delicious pizza on our Cinema night, great service too. Had a great time and hope Chocolate Quarter keeps doing these nights. Look forward to our next time .

An impromptu stop at the B Block Cafe. I had a Builders Buttie which had sausage, bacon and egg in sourdough. I have to say it was really tasty and a generous portion.

Great Pizza with some great topping combinations

Recently ordered a tomato, mozzarella and basil panini. I shared my panini with another ‘happy customer’. As you can see in the attached picture, you get one slice of tomato, one slice of mozzarella and one leaf of basil, per half of panini. Absolutely zero...

After asking if gluten free pizza was available we have tried three times to eat here. On the first occasion we were five, I asked for gf pizza and was initially told they had no bases. Probably realising five of us were about to leave...

Stopped here for refreshments. Had a nice mocha and bake well tart. The toilets were very neat and clean. One negative remark: Afternoon Tea is not on the menu!
