We were given info on booking re the Azure Restaurant. We booked for dinner this evening whilst on our way out to Truro today. Whilst in Truro we saw the Italian Kitchen Stall, the quality, the energy and we we're so pleased that we had booked. . On arrival we were met by a lovely lady called Becky, very gentle yet passionate and professional (quite a balance) she captured it. Becky was an absolute ambassador for Azure and all it stands for, supporting quality local chefs selling their cuisine, locals and holiday makers alike. Hugo came out and chatted and just wow, what a lovely guy! I grew up with a very professional and renowned Italian family of restaurantuers and this guy Hugo! Second to none! Also me being Vegan the menu hit all palates whilst staying quality! Fresh, tasty and just sooo good!! Oh. . And... Finally.... since being vegan I haven't eaten a Tiramsu ~ This was THE BEST!!! AND you get get hone delivery!! Well done you lovely lot! With love, Lisa & Rich 🌻👌 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

During October the restaurant is only open one evening per week and you are required to pre-order from a fixed menu........which we did, no problem. BUT when we arrived they were catering for a different menu.......which didn't suit us so we had to find somewhere else to eat. However the really annoying thing was that the member of staff who "welcomed" us was more concerned about blaming the Valleys reception staff for having asked customers to order from an incorrect menu, than seeking to apologise and / or take any responsibility for failing to have checked in with Reception to find out what food had been ordered so that they could bring the correct ingredients along. Disappointing and unsatisfactory

Went along with 4 friends to support their Greek Night recently. Always keen to support local enterprises, especially during these difficult times. At £25 per head, without drinks, we were expecting something really special. Sadly it was not to be. Although the service was excellent, the food was definitely mediocre at best. There was a mix up with the bill when we came to pay even though we had emailed in our orders beforehand and one of our party had popped in earlier in the day to ensure they had our correct orders Would we go back again? Possibly, but maybe just for a light bite next time.

Was assured the restaurant opens Mondays and Tuesdays for like street food. Turned up,gate shut, asked the question. Not opening, yet the website states opening April with a new chef. Not impressed.

We had a really enjoyable meal at The Azura on the 20th June 2019. We were staying at 'The Valley' so it was very handy for us. But the restaurant is conveniently located just outside Truro if you're staying elsewhere. The food was absolutely 1st Class so compliments to Mark, the chef. Sammy served us that night and she was so welcoming and charming. We will definitely dine there during our next trip! Highly recommended!!

After finding the restaurant (my poor navigational skills had us arriving late for our reservation) and entering through the managed gated entrance everything was extremely pleasant. Service was provided with a smile and the food was fantastic. Prices for the starters and desserts were probably a bit higher than we would normally like to pay, but mains were priced well. All well worth it given the quality and size of portions provided, which were big enough to fill me up without looking insurmountable when they arrived at the table. The restaurant was very quiet at the time we visited - midweek, early evening - but the location was good, overlooking the small outdoor swimming pool on-site. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone in the area and we will be returning.

This restaurant is situated a few miles from Truro hidden away near Carnon Downs. My wife and I have visited twice now, the second occasion with some local friends. The food is beautifully cooked and prepared to the highest standard. It makes other so called "eateries" and pubs look poor by comparison. Their recent "Thai" night was just perfect. I really love this place. Sunday roast is to die for xxx

This restaurant has been under new management since Easter 2018 - nearly a year since our last visit - and wow have things changed! The food is exceptional - not at all pretentious or over-priced, but fresh, plentiful, locally sourced fare with something for everyone. Helene (front of house) was the perfect host - and makes a mean cocktail!- and her husband produced faultless food from a surprisingly varied menu. We ate there twice during our stay and we and our kids loved it. I would highly recommend this restaurant to those staying at the valley and those further afield - sadly not well known off the grounds, a too-easily-missed gem. Look forward to visiting again next time we are in Cornwall

We had an amazing evening at Cafe Azul enjoying a tasting menu that compared very favourably with Michelin starred restaurants but at £30 for 7 courses a fraction of the price. The young chef, Tom Moore, is passionate about food and provided a delicious, innovative menu. All the ingredients are locally sourced and prepared to order. I can’t understand how he does it.

Some of the most innovative food we've eaten for a long time. 8 fabulous courses for £30 is fantastic value. (So please change the ££££ to ££ or £££). There is a simpler menu but most go for the DAILY CHANGING tasting menu. We went with friends who had eaten there on several occasions and never had the same food twice. We started with a succession of 3 Snacks (no Frenchified "amuse bouche" here!) First was a delicious pickled mackerel and crab tart, followed by a crispy courgette flower with Helford Sunrise cheese, beetroot and Helford Blue. Then came a poached oyster with cucumber and fermented chilli. This was served with wonderful treacley soda bread and Cornish butter. Next came the Haddock with roasted lettuce and crab sauce - absolutely outstanding! Following this we were presented with meltingly tender beef sirloin with a ragu parcel cooked in nasturtium leaves and a potato gratin. To finish we had a medley of summer fruits with tiny meringues interspersed with blobs of fruit jellies and cream. Each course was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. We spoke to the chef afterwards. He is truly passionate about his food and gets everything locallly e.g. Dillon's fish, Dad's courgettes, his own nasturtiums etc. The only fault with the place is that it's a devil to find with inadequate signage. So phone for directions but do make the effort. You won't be disappointed.

Why should you not be able to enjoy good food in the company of your four legged friend. This restaurant offers excellent food and has an allocated dog friendly area to sit at a proper table with your pet. Many restaurants claim to be dog friendly but in fact what they mean is you can sit outside with your dog or at a low table in the bar. 10/10 for food and service well done Café Azur!

We visited on our first night on site. Food was ok if not exceptional, but overall spoiled by the long time it took to get to the table. The restaurant is small with only about 8 tables but the few other diners had finished or were eating when we ordered and it seemed curious how long our food took. The staff were pleasant and helpful and offered a 20pct discount "because of the wait" but i did point out that a20pct discount is offered to all diners on their first night visit in any case. We didnt return after that and the restaurant seemed generally quiet most nights (our lodge overlooked it).

The Tolcarne Inn is a pub in Newlyn, Cornwall, just outside of Penzance. I happened to be on my way to watch a film about an Irish architect, when I stopped in the Tolcarne Inn for lunch. Suspicious of gastro pubs, ranging from uppity to down-facing. Ladies were pleasant, very quiet clientele, like a village pub. I sat by the window with my book about the cognitive decline of Joe Biden, but when the food came, I forgot about Uncle Joe entirely. I ordered turbot with hollandaise sauce and asparagus, a side of boiled “Cornish dailies” and a white Americano. A warning about “small plates”. Quite, quite. You could have lost the fish in the wash, the two asparagus were stolen from a fisher-maid’s garden, the hollaindaise failed to mask the paltry dimensions. The bowl of potatoes, lathered in butter and dill, was substantial, boasting my fish like a thin man wearing large clothes. (£25 for the lot. Suspicious? I thought so too.) After the first mouthful, I was shocked. I chewed slowly, methodically, the flavours informing my tongue. The turbot was cooked with rock salt; the flesh keeps shape, easy to pull apart. The hollandaise has none of that wiry flavour; it’s smooth, not unlike a Bailey’s. Asparagus are tender, simple. Boiled “Cornish dailies” - new potatoes - are tender too. Dill and butter not overpowering. When you are filled with shock during a meal, this usually comes from the waitress dropping your plate, or some punter attacking the bar, but rarely the food. My modest meal shocked me. I forgot about Joe Biden, remembering my youth. Perfect fresh fish - prepared differently in Bermuda, but the same sensation. The outside world vanishes. Flawless food. Tourists ambling in and out of the pub, acting like the Inn was just another watering hole. No, no, no. My little turbot and asparagus and potatoes forced me back into the shell of my youth, I thought about people thinking about youth; what form it took, and so on. Walker is in shock, on the verge of tears. Now, at this point, you reach out and touch your partner’s hand, but I was alone. So the waitress came over and asked, “Is your food alright?” Because I’m thinking about time and space, prompted by the excellent food, I look up slowly, like a post-operative patient jigged back to life. “It’s flawless,” I said. “Suspiciously flawless,” I added. She smiles, walks away. Meanwhile another customer - frothy, biscuit-shirted - has the audacity to say their beer is “a bit frothy” when archangels and medcine men craft in the kitchen like so many Cornish saints. A chef peers out of the kitchen, catching my eye. A smug smile on his face. “Yes, you are God,” I want to say; I want to sing this from Newlyn to Planet Neptune.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here. I had roast lamb and my wife had roast beef, very very tasty. For dessert I opted for the superb bread and butter pudding with clotted cream whilst my wife savoured the " St. Buryan Mess" which was delicious. The staff were lovely and our three dogs were welcome. All in all super pub food in a great location.
