I made a reservation a week in advance, but apparently, that meant nothing here. We walked in expecting to be seated promptly, only to be met with blank stares and confusion. After 10 minutes of fumbling through their "reservation system" (aka, a piece of paper they misplaced), they told us we’d have to wait—along with a line of walk-ins who didn’t bother booking at all. What’s the point of taking reservations if you just ignore them? The whole experience felt like a bad joke, except I wasn’t laughing while we stood around for an hour. Safe to say, if you’re planning on pre-booking here, don’t bother. You’ll get the same treatment as if you just wandered in from the street.

Authentic south Indian Kerala food. That's what you get here. And it's reasonably priced. Do try the chatti chorus ( a pot mixture of rice with over 8+ side dishes).

This small restaurant is one of most authentic Indian restaurants that I’ve visited anywhere in Europe. The feeling of being transported to India is real. Most of the customers were Indian, some eating in traditional Indian way with the right hand. The food is very good, apart from the Pistachio Kulfi which appears to be just a fairly dull ice cream rather than a proper Kulfi. The restaurant itself is fairly stark and functional in appearance rather than comfortable and inviting. Unfortunately the toilets need improvement as well as better cleaning. I do hope that the kitchen is maintained to a higher standard.

✨We stumbled upon this place by accident. I was navigating to another Indian restaurant when we passed by this place. It was buzzing with customers, so I decided to give it a try. Luckily, they had a table available. We ordered mostly starters. However, their portion sizes are very generous, so it was more than enough for us.❤️ The food is very flavorful. After eating bland English food, this was a refreshing change. Service is excellent. Shout out to our server Mushab, who made sure we got exactly what we needed.🙌🏻

My wife and I are at Awaafi recently and was impressed with the food on offer - it was very tasty. The service was pretty slow as they seemed to be doing a huge amounts of carry ours, but the service was very friendly. The ambience was not good, particularly as we had a screaming child at the table behind us, who should have been controlled by his parents, but wasn’t. That was not the restaurants fault however.

We had an amazing dining experience at Awaafi, Edinburgh. Though the restaurant is small the food was simply outstanding. From the traditional kerala snacks to the flavorful biryani, every dish was a delight for the taste buds. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the evening even more enjoyable. I highly recommend trying their porotta & Beef, it's a must-try for anyone who loves Kerala cuisine.

Me and my friends went in for dinner and had ordered a chicken biryani and 3 mixed grills, the chicken in the biryani was undercooked we called the manager he then offered to change it but we decided to order a veg dish instead, we then realised the tandoori chicken were undercooked too it was all pink inside when we complained the manager was very rude and wasn’t willing to listen and kept saying it’s cooked! my friends then tried explaining we can’t eat undercooked chicken as you can get food poisoning and ill with it but he kept auguring! They then turned up the music so other customers can’t hear us complain. Basically if u don’t want to get unwell eating undercooked chicken don’t go! The naan was also very hard and the glasses wernt clean either….AVOID

The noodles were excellent thick and chewy. The braised beef brisket was full of flavour, tender and bitey. The broth was very flavourful. It retained clear nourishing quality. If you look for a freshly- made beef noodle soup in Edinburgh, look no further. It is a place you simply must try.

My wife and I stayed for two nights, on a spa package. Everything was excellent, including food, pool facilities, bedroom, service. In particular, the restaurant staff were very patient with us, when we needed to check various items on the menu for dietary requirements. The spa was the highlight for us of course. After a very relaxing massage, we rested in the relaxation room for over an hour and even dropped off to sleep. It was hard to leave and we will be back!

This was our first visit and we will definitely be back. We were a group of 4 - two couples - and visited on Saturday night. I had booked well in advance and had both text and email confirmations of my booking which was effective. I have been to the Glasgow restaurant and so expected the food to be excellent and it was - the whole restaurant is lovely and it’s fairly big so a bit more space at each table that some other Thai restaurants in town - like say Dusit - where the food is great but all tables a bit cramped. We arrived early and had a seat by the bar where the bar staff took an order and brought drinks across - and added to the Table Bill - very slick. We had the set menu - Chaophraya- and it was fantastic - the states were amazing especially the pancakes and spring rolls. The three main dishes were really good choice - Chicken was spectacular, Duck brilliant and the Lamb curry was good. We don’t usually take dessert but it was included in the set meal - and it was brilliant too On the Saturday the restaurant was very busy and the first course was a bit slow to come out - but they told us the kitchen was busy and it was fine. We had the table booked until 9pm - per the booking - but they never rushed us at all and we left about 9.30pm. Service was good - and the waiters explained the dishes but didn’t linger - we liked that. Excellent location in centre of the city , excellent food and good service.

Unprofessional and not clear with their rules, didn't let people in for being under 18, even tho the event organisers made it clear that it's for under 18 aswell. The guard / one in charge/ jennie was also SMOKING INSIDE THE BUILDING.
