Awa Restaurant in Birmingham

This was the worst service I have ever experienced. I understand that Ramadan can be a busy time, but that should not come at the expense of food quality and hygiene. Our group consisted of three adults and three children, yet our meals were served in a highly disorganized manner. Half of the food arrived a full 30 minutes before the rest, and to make matters worse, the starters—which should have been served first—were brought out after the main courses. The biggest shock, however, was finding a piece of paper (which appeared to be an order slip for table 10) stuck beneath the yoghurt jug. This raises serious concerns about food hygiene. If Google allowed, I would attach a photo as proof. A truly disappointing experience.

Friendly people. We live in Bristol ,but we like go to Birmingham sometimes and AWA is our preferred choice for food.

I had been there the food was good ,but they have too slow service, i have been waiting 30 minutes just for 2 skews of kabeb .

We ordered grilled carb fish although we reserved it earlier & toldem to prepare it sooner but they haven’t cooked it when we arrived, the fish was so raw I don’t know why they neglected our order. I’m not going back there again ever!!!! They didn’t even apologized sincerely 👎

The Fish at this restaurant is absolutely amazing! Full of flavours and beautifully presented. The atmosphere isn't bad, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. It’s clear that a lot of care and passion goes into everything here. We definitely will come back!

Being a regular customer of awa, I can confidently say its one of the best kurdish restaurants that never let's you down. Friendly well mannered staff too and good environment.

Been going here since first opened, got better every time.. Most delicious midle eastern cuisine and fresh meat every day! Highly recommend this place, especially their grill is unreal! Staff are always friendly. Clean, tidy and nice atmosphere.. Massive car park, exactly how we want! Everything is literally 10/10!

I have been going here for quite some time. And honestly, one of the best if not the best Kurdish/middle eastern restaurant in Birmingham. The others are either too small or the food is not quality. Awa has great food that is consistently good. They should really update their menu and they left off a lot of stuff they serve.

I went there 01/01/2025 I ordered to dishes for £40 and £35 the come with salad 🥗 and the we did not see the salads an homz and the charged me £95 don’t go there

Nice big restaurant, excellent staff,food was ok, big platters with lots of meat and rice and bulger. Salads were nice, wings were nice. Meat in the kozi was very tender

Me & a friend of mine drove from London to Birmingham. There are no words to describe the Authenticity of the food. The flavors are very rich and the meat is beyond tender. Terrible customer service. It takes a long time to receive your food, and if you're not from the same community, expect even longer delays. I'm very disappointed with the service. I waited an hour and ultimately left the restaurant without my food. The place is disorganised.

This is one of the best restaurants to visit in Birmingham. A hidden gem. The owner Ahmed is an absolute gentleman and all of his staff follow suit with their consideration and attention. The food is delicious, homely and filling. The portions are large and they graciously accommodate any requests (for example I prefer my chicken tikka kebabs very charred and they are happy to do this) I couldn’t recommend this place enough if you are seeking an authentic Kurdish experience. We visit as often as we can

One of the best Middle Eastern restaurant in Birmingham so far ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Let me start with the welcoming kind staff, then the quality of food which is fresh and yummy 😋 then the long list of food that I personally wanted to order every thing in the list 🤯 I also can confirm that the restaurant is clean and big (special section for family) + private free parking 🚗 The prices are very reasonable. I recommend this restaurant to all / specifically families 👍🏻

Really disgusting customer service. We came for a family meal and my children ordered from the children's menu. When the burger came, the bun was stale and I don't mean slightly. I mean rock solid. It was sent back and when the waiter returned with a fresh burger, he proceeded to touch my 11 year old sons stomach and tell him he needed to do sport and play football. Firstly, you don't touch a minor. Secondly, on what planet are those comments acceptable! For what it's worth, the grilled platter was lovely food but you ruined our meal before that even came out.

hi everyone i was there today with my family came to visit from another city and in reality the food is very old and the service was terrible and i do not recommend this place i have left the food as it was that’s how terrible and disgusting the food is and the staffs talk to you with an attitude and they didn’t care that i wasn’t satisfied

Unfortunately of late the food has gotten worse. There as learly toouch salt on the large platter we had and the salad was overbearingly tangy to which i had to throw away. The chips were supposed to come with mains but they for some reason thought the chips were starters... And to top that off the 2 x portions of chips were the size of 1 portion of chips i paid for last year. Sorry after giving you around £80 per month sometimes double that over the years i will have to go elsewhere.

Well well well here we again, guys. This place is a banger 👌 what a lively open space to come and eat as well as enjoy family time in the separate area for larger family gatherings.. My go-to eat when wanting lamb kozi, their chicken soup as very tasty . The guys here do a tremendous job to satisfy their customers as well as get the food out to you in good time depending on what's ordered.. I will definitely give these guys a try. It has been a pleasure to sit and eat here.. A nice free cup of tea on the house after a nice meal.. Nicely decorated A place to pray is also available to use

That has by far been the best kurdish food I have had. The service was wonderful all the staff were very welcoming and polite, the food was beautiful all very well cooked and fresh. Each of the food tasted better than the other very pleased will be back soon.
