Aviemore kebab and Burger in Highland

Very poor food, very high prices. No food or cooking equipment front of house like most kebab shops. Makes you wonder how food is cooked in the back! Sounds as though the microwave is the head chef

Should have read the reviews before going to this place but after a long day out we needed something 'quick' and convenient. Ordered two pizzas, chicken pakora and chips at £31 and was told to take a seat while they cook. 5 mins later the staff came out and said in broken English that he only had 3 pakoras left but would add samosas to it, not ideal but at least it was something. He came back 10 mins later to tell me it would be 20 mins for my food because there was an issue with his oven.......this coincided with someone else (staff) from the restaurant leaving. 10 mins later he reappeared with two Aldi bags packed out and I joked to my son, there's our dinner. 10 mins later we are presented with our pizzas and pakora but no chips and had to ask for them and he went away and made them. I also had to ask for pakora sauce otherwise it was bone dry food we would be eating (no salad either). Took the food back to the hotel to the three kids and lo and behold, we had two frozen pepperoni pizzas from Aldi which we were charged £10.95 each for. The chips were soggy and had no seasoning on them and the pakora and samosas......well you would have been better licking the cardboard box that the pizza was in cause that had more flavour. Terrible 'restaurant' and awful food. Annoyed I never looked at the reviews and £31 down the drain. Even a women came in with her new born baby to order food, waited 10 mins and no one came to see her even though she was standing at the counter. Within 30 seconds of her leaving someone popped their head out and I can only assume that was because the shopping from Aldi hadn't been delivered to their kitchen. I could have went back and complained but with three kids waiting in the room starving and it was around 8pm which would have only delayed things more. My first review of a place but wouldn't want anyone else to get scammed like we did. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I realized I had made a mistake when I heard the microwave beeping and then had to wait ages for it and by the time we got it and realized how rotten the food was most of the other takeaways had closed. Mixed kebab wrap was inedible, donner kebab gave my girlfriend food poisoning and the chips were terrible as well. The dog wouldn’t even look at any of it. Ended up binning the whole lot. Complete waste of time DO NOT GO TO THIS TAKEAWAY! Wish I had checked the reviews on trip advisor and google first as it’s probably one of the worst reviewed takeaways in Scotland. The reviews date back a couple of years so the owners obviously don’t care about the reputation of their business. This place should be shut down and given to another owner who actually wants to serve decent edible food in such a busy tourist destination. Complete and utter joke they are allowed to get away with this. So once again AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! Wish I could give this place a negative rating but unfortunately I can’t.

Very poor food. We asked if there was anything vegetarian on the menu and was told we could have a halloumi kebab, followed by being asked if we would like the halloumi hot or cold and with or without chilli/garlic sauce. Upon getting home, we discovered that we had in fact been given a stone cold, basic tortilla sandwich wrap filled with feta cheese, 90% lettuce and a small amount of tomato. No garlic sauce, not a piece of halloumi in sight and a side pot of ‘chilli sauce,’ which was unlike any chilli sauce I had seen before. Luminous red in colour and a most strange flavour. To top it off, the two wraps cost £17. Avoid.

Terrible food, I paid for an expensive hot halloumi pitta bread and got given an ice cold lettuce wrap with feta. Staff were miserable, will never return here again. Such a disappointment and incredible rip off :( I've eaten a lot of takeaways living in London and this is by far the worst I've ever had.

Firstly it was packed, so I had to wait 40 minutes for a 15 minute pizza, it was fine but the choice was limited and the base was dry. However I’ve been visiting Aviemore for years and they just don’t seem to get good quality food outlets. Maybe it’s time Aviemore let some chain food shops lift the standard.

Wish i had checked the reviews on this place before i had paid for my food. £37 for a mixed kebab that was 70% what i presume to be crispy onions a donnor wrap and a pizza that definitely wasnt made in house or fresh. The sit in area was just as rough half finished decor, dirty and swarmed with flies

Well tried lots of kebabs in life in various locations need to admit if I could score this on negative starts that’s what will be. You can break your teeth on remedy of the bones. The mix kebab which unfortunately I had, was just all meet thrown in same seasoning (which even coloured your fingers red) and tasted same way with all spices killed actually the food taste (maybe in purpose). The service itself, like someone before mentioned the lady looks like she would prefer to be somewhere else… generally I regret we decided to go there but it was just spontaneous decision on walk…

Worst kebab ever. The « meat » (very long, cardboard like pieces) was very weird, dry, mostly tasteless, with a funny crunch… The only good thing was the store bought garlic sauce.

Had sit in kebabs in here yesterday after golf and it was fantastic , perfect tender meat and very tasty. 10/10 will be back

Not very good at all I'm afraid food not up to standard had chicken tika kebab. Chicken dry and over cooked mixed salad with it was red cabbage and lettuce I did ask for all salad . Waste of money only ate couple of bits.

Rude staff. Poor quality food. If this is the best as advertised i would hate to try the worst. Save you money and go elsewhere.

NO RECOMMENDATION! So we had two beef burgers with fries and “salad”. Salad in "" because it was on the menu but was served without it. The burgers were incredibly poor quality. So worse than McDonald's. There is still very little evidence on this. Fries didn't taste like anything either. The entire meal was cold and very loud Indian music was playing in the background the whole time. So in summary, everything is really bad and not recommended. Shame about the money :(

Do not go to this place. For a start the woman serving us looked like she didn't want to be there, after waiting a bit our order was ready and we tried the pizza just to find out it was an oven cooked pizza. Ridiculous for £10. Best in town at ripping you off

Ordered the kebabs in pita and there was no salad or sauce like the menu and picture represent - we ordered this as take out - so I am assuming she just figured we wouldn’t come back. Also, at least 1/2 of the meat were solid fat pieces - no meat on them whatsoever - disgusting! So I had to check every piece before I ate it.

The worst food we have ever eaten. The kebab was not edible at all. The meat (supposedly mutton) was raw and cold, covered with a terrible sauce. It was impossible to eat it. Fish and chips also terrible. The fish is coated with a huge amount of breading and fried in old oil. Only fries could be eaten. The carbonated drinks (cola) served to us from the fridge had a very short shelf life (it expired in a week). Worst £50 ever spent. I certainly do not recommend eating at this place.

Absolute waste of money. Chicken tikka ’kebab’ looked and tasted like microwaved pre-packed food. It certainly hadn’t seen a grill - no salad included. Mixed grill was hugely overpriced and completely tasteless. Customer service was really poor. Their claim to be “the best in town” is a joke. Avoid at all cost.

Couldn’t give it any less stars - pizza tasted and looked like it was from the Tesco freezer and the “peri chips” are sprinkled with the a tiny amount of seasoning. Avoid go get a meal deal from the Tesco.

Without a doubt the worst restaurant food i have ever eaten. My donner kebab came with bread and cardboard like meat, nothing else, no salad, chips or sauces (it Said on the menu that you would get all three). The only redeeming factor was that the staff where Nice. Don’t go here!!!

Disappointed with the food. We ordered peri peri chips and veggie pizza. It was a store bought pizza just heated up and given to us. Even the chips were soggy and not fried well. Extremely expensive for the quality of food which they do not even make in the restaurant. Very unhappy with the experience and the amount spent here.

He got to the point where the ketchup was expired if there’s anyway to contact who in charge of food licenses, I would do it 100 times. I asked for a pizza and there was more grease than in a bottle of oil if you want to ruin your night or have a bad Date go here. Prices are horrible for that food. I am almost sure that I saw one employee comment from the nearby supermarket with microwave food.

It's possibly the worst food I've ever eaten. I had a pizza that was basically an Aldi oven pizza, misses fish was a cheap bit of frozen fish that had been microwaved and then deep fried. That and a can or irn bru was about £30.

What we had off the menu off the good, and there is plenty of choice to keep it interesting. Absolutely loved the restaurant, the food was excellent the service was wonderful ,Friendly staff, no complaints,and it's so dog friendly. Would visit Again.

Me and the missus had our dinner here I had the Naga Donner and she had the grill chicken both tasted great nicely presented and the staff were very friendly if you like your spice like I do definitely try the Naga Donner not just spicy as hell but thr flavour of it amazing thanks for a great meal guys

Where to start. Microwave everything i had chicken tikka kebab in a soggy pitta and microwave chicken awful taste and like rubber. I ate little to none. My husband had donna kebab again microwaved soggy yet chewy. Total waste of money the quality of the meat was the worse i had ever had. The man in the shop was face timing really loudly after giving us our slop. Laughing and talking really loudly felt like we were intruding. Avoid if you can honestly terrible food and worse service.

Lucky to get a 1 star. You can hear the microwave ping before your frozen pizza (which is worse than one you’d buy from the supermarket) comes out. Poor quality food and slightly grumpy service.

Avoid avoid avoid, overpriced 9.95 for a cheese burger heated in micro to within an inch off its life, tastless to the extreme, no relish or salad offered or given, staff looked like they had been dragged thru a hedge, very scriffy and did not inspire confidence in the cleaniness of the place. Frozen chips with strange taste of the oil. Sooner mcDonalds opens the better, can honestly say worst food i have ever tasted, for me to put in bin shows how dire it was. Lots of good eating places in Aviemore fraid this is not and never will be one of them, it was a truely grim experience, never to be repeated. How can anyone get a burger in abun so badly wrong baffles me, do yourself a favour take 3 steps further and go to the coffee shop next door, where the food is what it should be. Do not like doing negative reviews but in this case it is well deserved.

Awful - ended up in the bin. Avoid!

We ordered three dishes and a drink, it took about 40 minutes and all four items were wrong. We ordered a "lamb chops" with potatoes and it came without potatoes. Two donner kebabs, one without salad and the other without hot sauce, both came with salad and hot sauce, we ordered a soft drink which came without a glass/straw and was wrong. Bland food and the "meat" looked like a piece of paper. The attendant was *extremely* inattentive and disinterested. I don't recommend it.

Honestly the food was perfectly fine, we had two kebabs and two grilled chicken burgers and all enjoyed them well enough. Definitely not the best food we've had but by far not the worst either, don't think it deserves the 1 star reviews.

This guy had a cafe when we came here last year. Purposely walked by to see if it had new owners yet. now he's changed it to a kebab shop. The absolute worst food I've ever had. I swear everything is just thrown in the microwave. Seriously avoid like the plague. Next year he'll be doing knitted goods straight out the microwave.

Absolutely below any standards. My donner kebab meat cold, dried out and not at all tasty. Mixed kebab stone cold, meat chewy. Both not worth the price whatsoever. My son's mixed wrap same. No tea coffee soup. We could hear microwave sounds coming from the kitchen. Very disappointed and definitely not worth a penny for what we got. Worst kebab I ever had. Would rate it 0 as 1☆ feels to generous.

Weird place. Wasn't really asked what I wanted. Had to request sauce. Nit offered salad. Asked for shish and was given totally different. Essentially 2 pieces or meat on a pitta bread. Not sure if server actually understood English. Poor quality obviously targeted at tourists.

The Tikka lamb kebab was literally the best kebab I have had in my life they should rename this establishment best kebab because that was the best kebab I have had and I have had many and the service was amazing the server was so polite I couldn't recommend this place enough 👍

Food not fresh, tasted frozen and reheat some the thw meat was still stone cold in the middle full of colouring. Chips were edible. But the thick black pubic hair in the kebab. Was enough for me. And i left. Over prices discussing don't waist your time or money

Ordered 2 kebabs. Very expensive. Meat was cut very thick, it was disgusting, mayonnaise for sauce with tomato sauce too? It also had lemon, rocket and complete tomatoes in the salad,.I would avoid this take away as our meal is in the bin. Very poor for such an expensive takeaway.

Well to start the place was empty and alarms bells should have rang. I ordered a cheese burger and donner burger, 5 mins later it was ready as in microwaved or reheated not a good sign, anyway food came and it was dry no sauce or relish nothing no salt either, the person didn’t even ask if we wanted anything on the burgers or chips, to be honest I threw it in the bin and wasted some £23 for what really was only worth £8 max for both. The sign outside said best burger in aviemore, this person is kidding right, I wouldn’t serve any of this to anyone. I would suggest work harder to make nice food or shut the doors.

I am feeling so disappointed and hungry too. I have never been given such revolting food in my life. It was like a joke kebab. I have had many donor kebabs and a donor kebab should have fresh meat succulently cooked and thinly sliced. I had thick sliced chunks of some sort of fake meat that looked like dog food and tasted cardboardy and foul. I pulled it all out of the pita bread after tasting one bite, and was left with onions, a bit of lettuce, tomato and dry pita bread for dinner after traveling all day. Not happy! My daughters had the burgers, which also had processed patties and the burgers themselves were flat and under filled. The chips were cold and dry. The guy also got the order wrong and gave one daughter chicken not beef as she had requested. Please don’t order from this place unless you have been given proof they’ve improved. I am sorry to leave this review but I am shocked people can consider charging others for such food. Please make food that is fresh and genuine or revert to other food choices you are happy to spend time on and feel confident making. Or write in your menu that everything is processed not fresh- be honest. It’s just not fair, especially when people are living or travelling on a tight budget as we are.

We ordered the munchy box, Greek salad, lamb kebab, and chandni special, and were quite impressed with the speed of service by which the food came out. All items were tasty, and looked grilled as opposed to other reviews we’ve read. Pleasantly surprised with portions as well, as a party of 5, we were all full by the time we finished our meals.

Got a takeaway for family tonight. Most of it binned. Apologies but food was well below standards. The mixed kebab was sliced meat that I suggest never came off a skewer no idea actually what it was. The lamb kebab never came off a skewer either, not sure how it was all cooked but very unlikely on a charcoal oven. All done behind a closed door too, unusual for kebab shops, I heard microwave pinging. I am all for supporting local business but this was a bit of a shambles. Please review your menu and move away from kebabs if you do not have appropriate equipment to make kebabs. Cost me £70 too !

Good variety of products, very welcoming staff that offered a great service, food came out piping hot and tasted fresh and amazing. Would definitely recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Vile !! Went in and ordered 5 meals and when the “chef” brought them out I could have been sick there and then. The microwave never stopped dinging. We asked what he was cooking in there he said the breads / wraps , but we then asked where the Donner meat was and he said it was frozen !! Never heard anything like that!! Wouldn’t be surprised if it was kept aside and reheated for the next order !! Disgusting

Got donor meat and chips can of coke 13 quid was hardly any chips and I'm sure it was all done in microwave as could hear the door slam not worth the money dissatisfied and won't be back I'm afraid!

Food was awful kebab was frozen heard it getting cooked in the microwave. The garlic Mayo was curdled. Think a word to health and safety will be happening. Can make people seriously ill £26.90 for the 2 smallest kebabs I have seen in my life

Was warm and cosy on a horrible winters day. Food was fast and warm. Kids loved their huge portions of chicken nuggets and chips. Adults were happy enough with their food 2.

I can honestly say it’s the worst I’ve ever had… food was Luke warm at best…was ensured it would be hot… seen everything put in microwave only to be told he wasn’t putting our order only the buns…which going by other reviews they state they toast them… would never ever use again and would never recommend.

I ordered Doner kebab yesterday and it was fantastic.

Went with family to the take away while staying in Aviemore 1 week ago. The worst food possible. All we heard was a microwave pinging constantly from burgers to chicken nuggets, it cooked it all. The portions were awful, the chips and cheese had a pinch for the entire thing and the Munchy box bought for 2 people to share was half empty. Not to mention it was handed over in a bag by the handles, meaning it was just mashed to one side. No service at all from the one chap working there (sitting in the customers dinning area) and the place seems run down. Graphics look amazing but it doesn’t reflect the food remotely. A real shame as it boasts “best in town”. Locals must know as it was dead at 18:30 and was overcharging as similar places to eat out are more value for money.

Food was of a very high standard for a kebab shop, freshly prepared chicken pakora, juicy well marinated slithers of chicken & lamb shish. The vegetable pakora, meat samosas, lamb seekh kebab and chicken wings were also delicious. Chips were crispy & not overly greasy thus cooked properly. The accompanying salad was varied but was a bit past its best, it’s pricey but in line with other eateries in the area. Quite a few tables to sit in which rapidly filled up on our visit. I would recommend & return to this restaurant.

I've never had worst wrap... 3 pieces of something green, horrible dry meat (not even sure what was that) no sause put in dried wrap... Around 3 bites costs almost £9. Nothing look like on pictures on menu. Suggest to avoid.

Avoid. Overpriced is a not the word. Ordered a Donner burger and was given a few bits of Donner on a burger bun with burger sauce and loads of Iceberg lettuce. No sign of a burger. Was in with a large party, orders were mixed up and 2 orders came out about half an hour AFTER everyone else was finished. If this is the best in Aviemore, then I hate to think what the other place is like.....

The food here was very fresh, healthy & delicious. A great stop for lunch or dinner on your travels through Scotland. We had the lamb shish & chicken takki, both were delicious.

Amazing place with a variety of foods to cater for everyone from chicken burgers to grilled fish and chicken. Everyone enjoyed it. Clean restaurant, good environment after busy day with the kids.

Donner kebab and cheesy chips were both great, lovely tables and seats inside as well!

Seriously people need to avoid this place. They say they will do better but it seems they can't be bothered, Called in for 2 mixed kebabs and 2 chips to take away. Came to £40. When challenged we asked why the chips were extra when on the menu it stated pita bread or chips. However we were charged extra for the chips. Kebab looked awful and what could only be described as microwaved frozen food, that had been placed in a sauce to try to recover it. Hardly any meat in the kebab. The chips were greasy. If I were you I would seriously look for food somewhere else unless you are desperate.

If this is the best in Aviemore then Aviemore may as well shut its doors. The bun looked toasted but was soft and soggy. The burger was really thin and appeared to have been microwaved. May even have come from a tin. I should have seen trouble when I asked the assistant what size the burger was he held his hands a few inches apart! 🤣Overpriced too. Not recommended
