Awful place distrusting rats roaming around broken light selling frozen pizza

Wanted to try this place for a long time. Place looked a bit dead and run down when we turned up. The food was good though. That orignal red doner.

Cant really say much other than the Red donner is decent..they dont really sell much stuff in this shop no chicken or fish, if they did would definatley be a go to for all, service needs to be a bit more faster but good donner👍🏼

Best red donner in England, amazing value and large portions. The red donner here taste amazing, I’ve been around many donner places around the UK, even Camel ONe in MAnchester and no one compares with Avenue Kebab house. I come here every week from Coventry. Place can do with a refurb and cleanliness.

Donners very nice second to none and something authentic out of Birmingham, but problem is leaves you on the toilet in agony for at least a day or 2. Before I eat from here I make sure my schedules cleared for at least the next day 😂😂. Foods nice but gives a bad stomach, hope owners fix this

Been using avenue for a lot of years now The naan used to be more tasty the meat is still the best but what did make me stagger ( as well as a long drive from Cannock) that a senior member of staff had cross words with junior member and struck him across the face despite this being embarrassing for the lad he didn't deserve to be struck but disturbing for me and my partner who have both been result of domestic violence and have very nervous conditions and it unfortunately put me off my food Monday evening 29th August 22

We attended this venue and can say that it was average , I can remember this takeaway back in the day was extremely good and customers used to travel from far a field …. Interior looks tired and the menu is not brilliant. There is so much choice in Small heath , Avenue kebab house needs that facelift to make it competitive.

I went on a recommendation, I didn't mind the wait of 30 minutes due to the shop being busy with delivery orders, what I do mind is paying for something and not receiving the correct order! We were visiting family and instead of cooking we thought would take home the so called 'fantastic' food. On arriving home, 102miles away, not only did I find out we had been overcharged (on talking to our family) but the mixed kebab did not contain any donner meat!! The order was also missing the requested salad. The other food we bought from there for a family member was incomplete also. Not impressed whatsoever. Obviously will not be going there again on our next visit.

Good size the meat was OK the nan bread was excellent. The chips where really bad. Don't think the oil was hot enough. I would eat here again 100% but I'd not have the chips

I used to go to this place as a young person with my mates on a Friday and Saturday when it was owned by the original owner back in the late 80s. The red donner kebab in a pitta bread with salad and their special sauce was awesome. I had fond memories of this place. It was one of my favourite donner kebabs. I hadn't been here for around 20 odd years since it changed ownership. I went back yesterday to try the red donner in a pitta bread. Even though I finished it, it was not the same at all. Kebab was decent but not the same. I was disappointed. Tried to get my younger memories back but failed. Still a decent kebab but average. Apart from the meat being red it was no different to a standard kebab. Service was good and polite staff. Give it a whirl just for the red donner.

Original red donner place in Birmingham… Ask for large donner and fries, Mayo and salad… you won’t regret it, .. can get busy at times as everyone wants the spicy donner … Service can get slow but worth the wait.. Reasonable prices

Ordered donner kebab in pitta n fries. Asked for salad and chilli sauce. What we got was dry donner, crumbly pitta and stale fries. No salad and no sauce. Food was awful. Never again from here. This food is not to my standard. I will go hungry but never to eat from here again!

I've been going to the avenue kebab House since 1989, still great value staff are friendly and helpful and the taste of the kebab is truly amazing.

After reading all the reviews on justeat most of them being absolutely terrible I admit I was quite hesitant about ordering from here. But the few fantastic reviews plus the pictures on their instagram swayed me. Being a Donner fan I don't like to be disappointed with portion sizes so we ordered 3 Donner's on naan to be on the safe side! We ended up getting it collected rather than ordering from justeat as their delivery times started a bit later. The Doner was absolutely delicious and I'm so glad we ignored the bad reviews and went ahead and decided to try for ourselves. It was flavoursome a perfect portion size we are big eaters and were very satisfied with 1 portion each we've saved the 3rd for later! Really happy with the food! 5 stars from me!

What can I say Avenue kebab house situated on green lane are known for there amazing spicy red donner meat . I enjoyed it so much I got a full large tray of it on its own and was feasting on this with my partner.

They only have one decent thing on the menu which is the red donner. I wouldn't buy anything else from here. The service is also slow. They guy behind the counter was busy using his phone rather than preparing orders.

Old skool takeaway. Red donner is a must after a few beers & a session with the lads. Gets it right every time. However the service is on the poor side.

La comida no era tan buena como la última vez que visité. Pedimos carne de donner grande en comida pitta para la familia. Las razones son: la carne de donner estaba muy seca, una cantidad muy pequeña de ensalada, el pan pitta no se calentó en absoluto, por lo que se sintió masticable, no se dio salsa fría incluso después de varias solicitudes y recordatorios y una porción muy pequeña de papas fritas. Muy decepcionado con la comida que pedí para mi familia que vino y era la primera vez que probaban la carne roja de Donner.

Red donner was okay nothing special. Just food colouring and masala. The service is terrible. Sometimes the donner is so dry. The prices are way over the top. They pricing donner meat like its organic beef. The hygiene of the shop is terrible and the chips and how they are made in a small fryer is disgusting. Please use beard protectors i had a hair in my chips last time I went

Nice unique red donna - sunday ques were quite long, kebab roll had to get changed midway but manager dealt with the unexpected delay well.

El buen servicio de carnes rojas de Donner fue lo peor que he tenido. Dos niños descarados trataron de servirme unas patatas fritas. No volveré allí muy mal servicio al cliente

That red donor is just as great as ever Only thing stopping them getting a full 5 stars is that the rest of the food seems average and choices are very limited.

So me and a few friends decided we will take a drive to try out the 'red spicy donner' (35min drive from were we live).. Upon arrival i was disappointed due to us having to set our own table up because the table was tucked away as if they were closing, 1hr 10min before actual closing time. I had to ask to wash our hands behind the counter due to the table legs bein very very greasy. When the food arrived the Burger Bun was rock hard on the bottom side. The fries were SUPER SKINNY fries that were so hard to even pick up with our fingers, let alone taste them bein as how thin they were. The spicy donner meat was actually quite nice. They had no tissues, wet wipes or washing facilities for our hands so after the meal we all had to politely ask if it is possible to use the sink behind the counter which the staff were moaning about.. Overall we was disappointed with the food hence why each one of us didn't finish our meals and through it in the bin. I have got diarrhoea today aswell as 4 of my friends.. I strongly do not recommend this place to eat. If i can rate lower than '0' i definitely would!

Very good service. However some of the workers struggle to understand English but theres always someone there to translate. Excellent food with good pricing. Recommend purchasing Red Donner with fries or, red donner burger or red donner wrap

It's OK, since the upgrade/ switch the quality seems to have changed. Saying that the cleanup and refurb has made the place more welcoming. However the food needs to upgrade as well. Also red Donner meat, the grease needs to be reduced why is there so much.

Pedí un kebab con patatas fritas y me consternó que me sirvieran la carne de una "olla caliente" en lugar de ser recién cortada. No estoy seguro de cuánto tiempo había estado allí, pero no sabía tan especial. Me gusta la comida caliente y contiene muchos chiles, pero eso no es todo lo que quieres en un kebab. Do not let the look of the store keep you away. It has the best Donner Meat in Birmingham, It is different to all the rest and has a nice kick to it through its spices and this is what keeps customers coming back. Well was recommended by a friend & the kebab was brill. Cant go wrong cheap and cheerful. Plus the portion was massive. So for a cheap night go there.👍😊

Went there just for the kebab as that's what's it's known for the only shop that serves red donner and they make it them self's for what we told. It was good but I think the person who served me probably needs his hearing tested as I told him no chille sauce and there was loads on it.other then that would visit again.

This place is strictly for donner kebab fans. They have their very own unique recipe which is 80% lamb and slightly spicy giving a unique red colour. Absolutely amazing in taste ive never had a better donner and believe me ive tried many.. The shop was one of the first in birmingham and bless them there still going strong. Although the decor looks although its from the same era, the food is great! Dont expect it to be all flashing lights and mega seating area, its a small shop u might even miss if you drive too fast, but its astonishing value for money and the donner is the best in my opinion. Ps. Always order small and in a pitta bread, Avoid naan bread and their large is like two peoples meals.
