It would have been a good night had it not been for the unprofessional attitude of the manager, Having looked at the menu on their website, we decided to book for a team dinner as the prices fit within our budget - The weekday menu is advertised as £17.50 for 2 courses and £22.00 for 3 courses. The meal was OK, and the service was great (I do feel bad for the waitress giving a 1 star review) the problems arose when the bill arrived. You get presented with a blank piece of paper apart from the total, no breakdown of meals or prices, and it was far higher than it should have been. In our party of 18, 10 people had 2 courses and 8 had 3 courses and they tried to charge almost £550.00. I questioned this and was told I would need to speak with the manager. When he came out of the kitchen, he didn't walk further than the door so we had to go over to him (this conversation wouldn't have disturbed any other customers as we were the only people there). From the start he was incredibly rude and when we questioned the amount of the bill he insisted it was correct. We tried to explain that the menu on the website very clearly stated different prices and even checked it whilst we were talking just in case anything had changed - it hadn't but he didn't care. He continued to insist the price charged was correct, which was £27.50 per person, we pointed out that was the price advertised on the weekend menu and we were there on a Wednesday. His response to this they were old prices and how we can we expect to only pay £17.50 or £22.00. He couldn't tell me how we were meant to be aware of this without being told. He continued to argue, yell and dismiss all of our questions, until he stomped off into the kitchen yelling over his shoulder for us to get out! We settled the bill, at the advertised price, and ensured that the service charge added did go to the staff, but this encounter did overshadow the evening and is not how I expect any customer to be treated in a restaurant. I would not recomend going to this restaurant based on the way the manager treats people who have the "audacity" to question him, if you do decide to go make you check the prices before ordering anything. The picture below shows the menu the night we were there and I have checked their website again today and the weekday menu is still advertised at the same price.

A really nice, old school, dinner and dance restaurant. Second time here. The food is I reckon Greek Cypriot with grilled meats, moussaka, houmous and taramasalata, all done really well. It is billed as a steakhouse but fine if you are vegetarian or pescetarian. Really decent wine and good after-dinner coffee plus alcohol e.g. French coffee with brandy and Russian coffee with vodka. Reasonably priced and excellent, friendly, attentive service. We had to wait for a friend who was running a bit late and the bar area by the entrance is comfy and welcoming. The music is great - think Earth Wind and Fire, Commodores, Supremes, Candi Staton and other great, classic soul, which had people up on the small and intimate dance floor. A lovely night out.

I booked a table for 31 people as a surprise for my sister’s 60th birthday. Some of the guests were on budgets and others had smaller appetites so before the night, I sent a copy of the weekend menu (as on their website) to everyone for reassurance. When we arrived, we were all presented with a fixed price, 3 course, £32.50 party menu (that’s not even on their website) so people were forced to eat more and pay more. I didn’t want to cause a scene but did query it and was told that’s what larger groups have to use, which I wasn’t told at the time of booking. The staff were lovely and the singers great but the manager was the opposite. Rude, impatient and obnoxious and many of the guests commented. Also, when I went to settle the bill, he was adamant that there were 32 guests but had inadvertently included my 3 year old niece, despite my being told at the time of booking she was free. Lastly and disappointingly, it was only our group left and my daughter offered to pay £20 if her fiancé could sing “Piano Man” on the microphone (a family favourite and nice way to end the night). He refused, which says it all really. Apart from our table, there were only two others all night, which is very quiet for a Saturday. No surprise to me at all.

We went to this restaurant with some friends. They had called ahead to make sure it was wheelchair friendly. They were told it was but it wasn’t. The tables are packed so closely and the door that could have been used as a wheelchair entrance was blocked. The food was not good at all. The puff pastry tartlet was actually two triangles of puff pastry with sauce poured on top. The vegetable lasagne tasted like a bad ready meal. Every plate of food comes with chips, grilled tomato, mushrooms and peas regardless of what you order. Despite stating that the restaurant is air conditioned, it was absolutely boiling hot in there. We didn’t stay for dessert as we just wanted to leave. Not recommended.

Booked the restaurant for my Wife Birthday with a group of friends we all had a fantastic night. The food was excellent, the drinks flowed, the entertainment was terrific and the service throughout the night was spot on, warm, friendly, and great atmosphere we will be booking a tribute night again very soon. Defo recommend to family and friends.

We visited this evening with family and friends, for my mums birthday. I won't pretend that I did not expect to have an amazing night tonight, it was mums choice, and I pre judged the place as I thought the restaurant looked a little dated. Well, it was a little dated, but in a great way! Meaning it had a nostalgic feel - I felt like it was a real "night out". An occassion to dress up and eat a steak! The food was very reasonable priced, tasted great, really couldn't fault it. The atmosphere was fab, even being the first weekend in Jan (notoriously a bit of a rubbish weekend, in general). The staff were amazing, you can tell they know exactly what they're doing, and the entertainment was fantastic. I look forward to visiting again.

I was taken by my son and daughter-in-law to this wonderful restaurant again on Mothering Sunday. As usual the food was so appetising, well cooked and beautifully presented. We all had the roast beef which so tender it melted in the mouth. The vegetables were perfectly cooked with such a variety, the parsnips were especially delicious. The starter (iced melon) was luxurious and the fresh fruit salad (with ice cream or cream) was so flavoursome. I look forward to my next visit. Compliments to all the Staff, especially the Owner. thank you for making my Mothering Sunday so special.

Was due to go to this place tomorrow evening (New year's Eve) but unfortunately our friend has got covid so she rang them to tell them she can't make it,( they said no refunds don't care and go away) There was no need for that comment so will not recommend this restaurant to anyone and will not be going there again.. I phoned the Avenida today to cancel our booking for tomorrow, New Years Eve. I tested positive for covid and three of the party have to isolate. If I could have given no stars would. The manager was very rude and told me to clear off, saying he didn’t care.
