Hattush Mezze & Bar in Lewisham

went in there last night withe my daughter and son in law after it was recommended by someone ld already eaten which turned out to be a blessing they had lamb chops with chips and some chicken wings on the side which were straight out of the microwave which you could hear pinging as there were no other diners in there and for some reason the chips were piping in the middle and cold on the outside my son in law told im presuming he was the owner that it was the worst turkish restaurant hed ever been in. and that how can you be happy serving up that to people no apology and not even a gesture of taking something off the seventy pound bill would give this place the widest of births and now we know why it was empty and not the piss poor excuse given that it was all covids fault. i had covid and it was more of a pleasent experience than this place.

Awful food, the sesame chicken looked like crispy potatoes it was so over cooked. Prawns were mushy and it seemed like everything was frozen for ages before being destroyed further by the chef/microwave attendant! How can a Turkish restaurant not even make good Hummus? It was the worst I’ve ever tasted! I’ve come home to cook dinner :(

Attended Hattush for a birthday this weekend and was disappointed with the meagre menu choice I viewed online beforehand, which was just as poor for real. We were served by a lovely young lady called Talia who had impeccable manners, attention to detail and customer service. In my view she is far too good for Hattush as the staff, namely Yasmin and Matthew, treat her with such disrespect, it’s truly shocking. Everyone from our party ordered their dishes and when they arrived we discovered that some were missing. Yasmin proceeded to blame Talia for this openly in front of the restaurant and all of us at the table. Incredibly unprofessional. I want to add that Yasmin was also bringing some of the dishes out and would more often than not be eating and chewing over them whilst asking us whose was whose. Again, unprofessional and disgusting. The food, especially meats had an off like taste. As if the meat wasn’t fresh and reheated. Sweet potato fries were dark instead of orange and the fried halloumi was rubbery. This trend followed through on other dishes which led me to believe the oil was old and needed changing. It wasn’t fresh at all and made sense for the off, overcooked taste and look of the food. I ordered a mojito to drink which was bland. Looked and tasted like sparkling water with mint in it. No darkness from the brown sugar and zing of lime I’m used to when ordering mojitos elsewhere. Overall I would avoid Hattush like the plague simply for the poor management and food. Matthew was defensive and disregarding, placing blame instead of listening to constructive feedback. Yasmin’s hair wasn’t tied up and was hanging all over the place and she would often be seen touching it and then bring dishes out. Both very unkempt characters which isn’t a good look for somewhere you want to go and eat. Lastly, for a Saturday night the place wasn’t busy which also rings alarm bells. Never again.

A friend told me about the place and we visited as a family. Service, food, interior all added to the overall vibe of relaxed and inviting experience. One of those evenings when hours felt like minutes and even days later we clearly remember all their great staff and tasty mezze. Ordering baklava and ice cream as desserts was one of the best recent decisions. Sublime! Highly recommended, we will return!

Friendly atmosphere and service and really nice food. My favourite calamari in London so far! The pistachio baklava was excellent too, melt-in-the-mouth and not too sweet, just perfect. We will def be visiting again. We were told they often have live music with Turkish music and dance, that would be really good to see so looking forward!

Bought two boxes of mixed meat with hummus, salad, chips, rice and some dips along with a hot meze mix (which was cold) and extra Halloumi and extra signora. Portions were small so didn't really go round 5 of us. The halloumi was like rubber and over fried and the hummus had no taste to it whatsoever. Was given very little bread and that was very greasy. The Cacik tasted off and looked like it had gone off as well with liqued all round the side. Food was bland, chicken had pink bits and the Falafel was very hard with a strange tatse. We made a complaint as we had spent £68 and was refunded half of the amount. Unfortunately, for my self I was very unwell after eating and woke up out of my sleep vomiting due to the food. I emailed the restaurant with pictures of the chicken and was told it was cooked as it look stringy. The chicken was indeed stringy and very dry. I have added the pictures of the pink bits on here... once we see that we did not want to eat the chicken anymore. We also had ribs that had hardly any meat on them at all. The restaurant has apologised and also asked if I could freeze the food that was uneaten and bring it to them. That I will not be doing! I would of thought after sending the pictures in and letting them know that I was physically sick due to the food I would of been offered a full refund. We was all still hungry after the food we ordered so evem though we got it for half price it was a complete waste of money. Such a shame as I have eaten in this restaurant a good few times and have also left a much better review after one of my first visits. Will not be in a rush to go back....in fact I will not be going back

Had vine leaves as starter (4 pieces). Not that nice, wouldn't recommend. Mains come with a salad. We had lamb chops (delicious, fresh), meat mussakka (delicious again), hunkar begendi (lamb didn't taste of much - wouldn't recommend). Sides we had were potato wedges (hot and crispy), and feta cheese salad (the feta was nice but the salad was the same as the salad that came with the mains so not really worth the expense). Service was fast. Service charge was not automatically added to the bill, which I appreciate. We used eat out to help out, and we wouldn't normally eat at a place like this because it is out of our price range.

This was my first dining experience out since lockdown and I have to say, the service received was 1st class. The customer service provided by the manager G was friendly, welcoming and professional with added safety measures namely track and trace and social distancing in force (we were seated outside and watched the sun set). The quality of the food served was amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed my starter, main and dessert. As a local resident, I have visited this restaurant before and am happy to see the quality of food and service still remains as high as ever. A truly friendly and welcoming environment with excellent food - I will be returning again in the near future!

I love going to Hattush for gorgeous healthy Mediterranean food. Everything on the menu I have tried is delicious. Keep up the good work.

Hi. not going to say much just going to make a a few points. * Sympathy for the waitresses. They do their stuff and do it well * Warm food. Cold plates. Tasted like microwave food served onto said cold plates. * .Asked for beers.Only had one type on a Saturday night! * Bulger was straight out of a microwave packet. * Chef's special, Hattush Iskander was unseasoned and bland, this was supposed to be a Kofte but it tasted and looked like a thick cut doner kebab! * For a chargrille restaurant, there's no aroma's coming from open kitchen. * Sad excuse for what could be potentially a great restaurant. The owners have obviously spent a lot of money over the last couple of years, but may need to review what the customers go there for, and its not the the lukewarm, microwaved offering that was on offer tonight.

Lamp chops are delicious and the Mousaka was good. I got calamari as starters only 3/4 can't remember portion size is small.

Around 60 of us attended the 70th birthday party last weekend at Hattush. Management and staff worked amazingly hard to ensure all of us had our meals as quickly as possible. Trying to feed 60 people who all arrive at the same time is nigh on impossible. Food quality was good (4 star), not excellent, but considering the task it was far better than I expected. I 've given an excellent rating because the staff were fantastic. One person nearly spoiled the evening by trying to leave without paying. He and his partner were spotted and confronted by another guest as they were walking out of the door. He made a scene to try and cover his embarrassment, Looks like leondment was the scarperer. Apologies to all as this is a review not a bulletin board but someone has to put leondman's post to some kind of right.

After attending a hugely chaotic and sub standard meal for a friends 70th birthday party here unfortunately the mood turned sour, we asked for the bill and i got up to check for the car i just booked, we was stood up waiting for our partially sighted friend to finish up using the toilet, at this point the very strange restaurant owner thought it was a wise idea to send someone to block the exit as if we were not going to pay. lol, as if someone attends a friends birthday party and walks out without paying you silly man, maybe this goes on in Turkey mate but not here fella, you made a huge mistake and just only needed to say sorry. FYI if you continue to treat your valuable customers in such an awful way in the future you will just join the long line of failing restaurants that have been in that property before you. Obviously i will be advising all my friends and family to avoid this place like the plague. Good Luck
