Brilliant night! Went for a private charity night & food was delicious. Traditional Christmas meal. Veg soup to start (could tell home made), turkey dinner with all the trimmings (perfectly cooked & VERY filling), then cheesecake to finish (was too full so couldn't finish 😩). Staff very friendly too 🥰😀 Only slight downside was could hear the base beat from downstairs (we were upstairs) but didn't detract from the food (was that good!)

I went to Life of Riley on Sunday/Monday morning 4th/5th August 2024. We used to call it Spiker Riley as in the past we have had attempts to spike our drinks. The other night we were there till 02:30 and the security in there were absolutely fantastic. One guy inside spotting any trouble and two guys on the door responding. The guys were professional polite and strong when required. My wife and myself felt totally safe as there is the usual mix of Bumpers on Hairy Mikers night. Excellent work guys.

Had a nice Sunday dinner today. I had the chicken which was a bit dry and my parents had the beef which was very chewy and tough. The veg is separate (generous portions). Swede was watery (not pleasant). Additional Yorkshire puddings are available for £1 extra each. A good range of seasonal veg is given. There is a dog friendly area of the pub (this can be smelly if dogs are wet from the beach)
