Gone massively down hill since our last visit. Greeted with " cash only!" From the miserable waitress . Got seated and ordered fish chips and peas twice and a pot of tea for two. Drinks arrive first two mugs of water, two teabags and a sml milk on a plate cost of £2 each. Food arrived, one meal ok but one fish was 70% batter 30% fish very small. Prices have definitely shot up as well.

Coming from Blackpool I thought we had the beat fish and chips but this is the best I've tasted, we will be coming back to this place on our next visit.

We visited as a family. I had battered sausage and chips and my wife had fish and chips. It wasn’t cheap but both of us enjoyed the food. It was nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were baby changing facilities although with limited room (which came in handy for our young family). Service was fairly quick. The only one dampener was that it was a sunny day and we were asked to move to a window seat because our pushchair could be better stored out the way (although it wasn’t busy). It was like sitting in a greenhouse because the seats got the full glare of the sun.

Called for fish & chips twice , 2 slices of bread , tea for 2 , a jacket potato cheese n beans and a can of pop . A total of £41.20 I’ve been many times in the past and it was really good food . However the food was awful, stale bread , half the chips were cold the other half very hot , mushy peas with an odd after taste a packet of tartare sauce . A cup of hot water ( not boiling ) t. Bags on the plate . The fish was nice but the batter wasn’t !! The state of the place is a disgrace . The floor was filthy and full of food . The tables were greasy the chairs filthy and looked like they needed a good wash down . The toilet was a health hazard the bin had never been cleaned the floor covered in pee. The sink and taps were so bad I didn’t wash my hands I couldn’t have touched them !! It’s time the place was closed down it’s a health hazard and the only award they deserve is for the worst chippy in Brid !! …. AVOID !!

Called in today for lunch sign outside saying award winning fish & chips well I will tell you they certainly are not. On entering we sat down waitress came over seeing we had a small dog with us told us in no uncertain terms the dog could not be fed or have a drink whilst in there so we ordered 2 teas wanted cod but they didn't have any 😬 so had to settle for 2 haddock & chips 1 with peas and a sausage . She came back with 2 pots of water tea bags on the side and demanded not ask politely for £32.85. We hadn't even seen a chip yet. So inbetween getting our tea and serving the fish and chips she thought oh let's clean the windows this was 3pm I'd of done them first thing. Tea was hardly luke warm when the meal came chips ok mushy peas ok fish was so overcooked you couldn't cut it . The batter looked like it had congealed and set. It was like string the fish was very thin. Never came over asked if everything was OK. Another table of 4 pensioners came in same routine demanding money before even seeing anything. It's not as if anyone was going to run off. Then again probably the worst fish& chips on the east coast god knows how they got an award its certainly not for their food or their manner. Miss this one out people👍

If you like your fish nice and overcooked dry with about as much meat on it as a Stickleback has then this is the chippy for you! As a family paying the best part of £30 the quality of the food was disgraceful. Avoid at all costs, better chippies in the area!

Must be the most overpriced chippy in brid staff had an attitude small portions and greasy definately wont be going back far greater chippys locally to spend my hard earned money in

Staff are very rude if you're not from Yorkshire. Took my order and then went into the kitchen and loudly took the mickey out of my accent. Clearly don't need the tourism from non Yorkshire customers.

I suppose that my main complaint would be that we sat down at a table and were then told It was a cash only fish & Chip cafe ( not restaurant), which means the customer has to make a decision, should we leave and if we stay do we have enough cash to pay the bill. We decided to stay thinking we had enough money for 4 fish & chip lunch's, well we were wrong! The next thing to note and complain about is the fact that they don't do what I would call a fish & chip lunch ( fish & chips, mushy peas/ curry sauce, tea, bread and butter), everything is priced separately, meaning the above lunch for 4 would cost over £60, which we didn't have. Not wishing to make fuss again and leave, some of our group decided to go down market. Well I say down market, and that's what it was. We had 2 fish and chips and 2 fish cakes and chips, 1 cup of tea and a portion of mushy peas. Whilst the fish and chips were excellent as you would expect, the fish cake instead of being a mixture of local fish and potato manufactured lovingly on the premises, as you would expect for a well established establishment!. What came to the table was a travesty. 2 ( x2) very thin discs which had obviously been manufactured in huge factory somewhere on an industrial estate hopefully somewhere near a fish dock ( but I am not going to hold my breath on that one). They were disgusting and I am fairly sure that the fish content was so minimal that in law they could not really be called fish cakes. As for portion of peas, I say portion, but it consisted of a small splodge of green stuff! Then the tea, well what can you say about a small mug of hot water, a separate tea bag and a tiny jug of milk (£2)!!! Would we go back again, definitely NOT.

Couldn’t believe that I could not give my dog a drink or something to eat inside I think you need to pick up your game otherwise the lovely young lady that served us was brilliant , will I go back probably not

Once an amazing fish and chip shop, it's seen its glory days. Staff not interested overpriced small portions over 3 quid for chips!!! The curry sauce did not fair, better overpriced, and just a meagre portion.

The best fish and chips we have had in along time, great service.. Haddock was perfectly cooked , lovely crispy thin batter. Will definitely be back

Overpriced small portions not nice at all , nothing like it was back in the 80s totally unsatisfied wouldnt eat it so fed the seagulls and pigeons it waste of money far better chippys in brid to spend your money at .

1st time we have been . Won’t be the last. Absolutely beautiful fish and chips. Ordered 4 medium haddock and chips. Crispy batter on fish lovely flaky white fish. Friendly staff. All meals were cooked fresh. Place clean and tidy. Enjoyed by all Thanks

Been going here years,sometimes we only have chips always good,today really poor also charged 10p for tray 1st time ever. staff disinterested and untidy,(not staff we have seen before) benefit of doubt it was a one off blip.

Lovely large cpd, chips and curry sauce. Lovely thon crispy batter. Loved the chips because I don't like soft soggy chips that some chippies do and and these were crispy.

Went in today 2nd Oct around 4pm. We had jumbo haddock meal & regular haddock meal. Food was a good size, Tasty, hot & nicely cooked. I feel a bigger plate would have been better. Waitress very friendly

Of all the fish and chips take aways I've visited this is 100% the poorist value. My so called large cod was absolutely shocking. To to add insult to injury, the fish fryer was obnoxious. Or we so small. Also when I removed the batter which was 50%of the fish there was nothing left. Absolute theft. Businesses like this deserve to go bust.

Although advertised as 5 star and dog friendly, it really wasn't. We took our 3 little poodles inside because it was dog friendly. Ordered fish and chips twice and a sausage for the dogs. The waitress took the order after telling us they only had large cod . We only wanted regular but ordered it anyway although a lot more expensive , pd and waited. Another lady brought the food across with a stern look on her face . I had poured some water out into the dogs water bowl we take every where , to give them a drink as it was quite warm in there. The woman was quite rude and said , didn't the waitress tell you ,you can't give food or water to dogs in here. !!!!! How the hell can you be dog friendly but won't allow them to have at least a drink there. Not dog friendly as far as I'm concerned.

Came for a late lunch. Ordered 2 large cod and chips. Never have I seen a cod shaped like this! And definitely not a large. Very thin piece of fish with paper thin batter and luke warm. Loads of chips, probably to make up for the lack of fish. Order written down, old school, but still forget mushy peas. Give this a miss!

Outstanding Fish and chips and service we have been coming to Bridlington for 5 year and would not go to any other restaurant for Fish and chips a visit to Bridlington would not be complete without a visit to Audrey’s

The sign outside says “award winning”. I dread to think as to which competition this establishment gained this accolade but certainly wasn’t in the fish and chip category. Chips undercooked and fish over cooked and subsequently dry, not a great pairing. The numerous tables around ours still with left plates pilled high with food should have been a red flag which in hindsight we should have noted. Not really overwhelmed with the service, staff just seemed uninterested and clearly were watching the clock for knocking off time. Although we paid via card it was interesting to note that those who followed us were told it was a cash only establishment, not sure why they changed their policy but at least 10 people were in effect turned away. Note the greatest experience and defiantly will not be going there again.

Its been alot of years since I visited Brid and Audreys was a must visit so, on my recent return, Audrey’s was the first stop for take away fish n chips. What has happened? The young boy serving was miserable and just spoke, well mumbled, the least he needed to. The fish was freshly cooked but very thin, if this was the medium size then goodness knows the size of the small one! The chips were a generous helping but on the cool side. And they were much too expensive, plus 25p for a box to put em in😀I wouldn't recommend this shop at all.

Shocking prices, shocking service, really nice fish. So if you can put up with being served by insolent waitresses and having your bank account emptied for the pleasure of a visit. This is just the place for you in my opinion.

Called here today for fish n chips got 2 fish 1 chips just over £17 the meal was ok but we'll over priced where we come from fish n chips £3.70 small but ample for. One won't be returning will take Sandwiches next time

Went in for some lunch. On entering we had a warm welcome. The young ladies serving were very friendly. Service was great and the food was excellent too. This is well worth a visit if you are hungry and are in Bridlington.

I would say hand on heart that this was by far the best Fish & Chips shop in Bridlington & as a family, we have visited for three generations, whilst visiting.However, last night we got takeaway and we were all beyond disappointed. We ordered large fish & chips, however we couldn't find the chips under the fish, but that wasn't because the fish was overly big and didn't appear fresh or of any taste. What chips we got for a large portion, weren't anywhere up to standard. On a previous visit approx three weeks ago, the fish & chips we got were absolutely outstanding and portion sizes were as expected. Which makes last night's meal, even more of a let down

Visited for a late lunch yesterday. Bridlington was busy with tourists and there were plenty of fish and chip shops around to choose from, most of which looked tacky. We liked the look of Audrey's so decided to go in. It's cash only which wasn't an issue as luckily we had some money with us. There was hand sanitiser at the door & we could pick where to sit and staff would come over to take the order. Welcome was friendly but it was a wait before our orders were taken. We got 2 lots of surf & surf which was regular fish & chips and scampi. The menu doesn't tell you which fish it would be if u just order F&C but we reckon it would be haddock which is the cheapest fish compared to cod and plaice. Also got some mushy peas and was asked if we wanted bread & butter and other sauces such as mayo and tartar. Opted for the tartar. Food was served and payment requested which was fine but I hadn't realised there would be an extra charge for the sauce. Bread and butter was listed on the menu but don't think sauces were. We really liked the food - freshly cooked with a thin and crisp batter for the fish and scampis were not the frozen variety, or at least didn't seem to be! We liked the chips as well. Mushy peas were tasteless but fine with a little salt added. It's a tad pricey - the fish, chips and scampi was £11.25 each!! - so I imagine there will be other places with more competitive prices. Staff were wearing masks and took cleaning seriously and were spraying and cleaning down each table including the seats and sauce bottles after each patron, though the state of the cloth they were using was a bit questionable. Still, they were making a real effort to make it as clean as possible. We enjoyed our meal there and would recommend the place. One area they can improve is clearly stating the extra costs for items offered so there are so surprises when it comes to paying.

We live in Bridlington and we decided to go to Audreys as many year’s ago they were very good. But this visit we ordered cod & chips, Steak @ Kidney pie & chips. The Fish was like one you buy from the supermarket & put in the oven but it was fried for a very long time as if it was cooked from frozen and the pie was a very cheap and nasty pie. I think they just have passing trade and do not care what they give you as long as they get money in the till

Visited here 3 years ago and returned specifically as it was fantastic on our last visit This time however it was very poor. My son and I ordered children's nuggets and chips and fish & chips with a coffee and a milkshake.The chips were bland, tasteless and mostly very soft, the fish was overcooked and the batter hard and the nuggets were like the fish. The milkshake was weak and poorly made and considering they charge more than others in the area it was not an experience we will be repeating ever again.

6 OF US SAT AND ordered and payed for our meal just under£70 my wife ordered baked pot with beans and cheese we could hardly see the beans so i asked for another portion and was asked for another pound my sister in law had fish she asked for4 tartare sauce yes that was another pound my other sister asked for tartare sauce 2 yes 50p our other member asked for bread and butter yes £1.25the service was rubbish as was the attitude of the staff if you go to bridlington which in a super place DONT GOT TO AUDREY FISH AND CHIPS

Only award this place has won is worst fish and chips in town. The thinnest fish served with skin on and tasted foul as if the fish hadn’t been washed before frying 👎
